This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and has a beautiful view. The service was incredible shoutout to the staff!! Everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were huge. Get the octopus tacos with passionfruit puree it's so so good, i dream of these daily.
I don’t think this place needs any introduction at all. It is simply a place of great quality steaks. The bone broth that was given when we get seated was to die for. The temperature on both steaks were perfect and each bite was very well seasoned and tender. The Mac n cheese was delicious as well. Corn is just corn and the baked potato should be turned into a creamy buttery mashed potato. Salad and rice was good. The octopus taco was seasoned nicely and pairs nicely with its passionfruit sauce and a squeeze of lime. Overall, it was the most expensive meal we had during the trip, but the quality and taste makes it worth its price tag.
Fine dining restaurant with lots of professional stuff looking after you. We had a table at the window overlooking an old cathedral — really nice! Food was tasty: steak, potatoes with truffle sauce and octopus tacos definitely recommended. Also home made sugar free lemonade was refreshing!
We came here twice during our visit. The first time, I got a hamburger which was a fair portion of meat and tasty. In that visit, a friend tried black angus dry aged steak. They served it in a ceremony that also made an impression. The meat was one of the most tender meat I'd ever tried. However, on our second visit, when I got the same, it wasn't that soft. Maybe it wasn't a good day. However, the staff is so kind and professional. The waiter even took the time to explain us how to make a sauce when we asked for it. Overall, it is a good place to eat in a nice atmosphere and I would probably go back.
I highly recommend Casa Escobar to anyone visiting Antigua Guatemala. The restaurant is beautifully designed, and the staff are very well dressed, professional, and extremely helpful. The food was amazing, the tomato soup was excellent, and the Escobar burger was awesome, very tasty and delicious. To top it off, they brought us marshmallows at the end as a small gesture, which was a very nice and thoughtful touch.
Where do I begin? Amazing atmosphere, incredibly attentive wait staff and the food was incredible! We ordered the mixed grill, sirloin, skirt steak, chicken breast and chorizo with 2 sides (came out to around $47.00 US). Everything was spot on and delicious. Ended with the Cardenal Tres Leches which was impressive! A tip is added to the final bill which to us was of no consequence. Make this a mandatory stop when in Antigua!
Reservations are a must! One of the busiest restaurants in Antigua. The atmosphere was very inviting. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. We are pescatarians and it is a steakhouse so it has a meat centric menu, but there were plenty of options for us to choose from.
Hidden in the heart of Antigua, Casa Escobar is where rustic charm meets refined flavor. The ambiance blends soft lighting, wooden textures, and a calm, elegant atmosphere that feels both local and sophisticated. The menu speaks with confidence — every plate arrives with detail and intention. The tender cuts of meat, melting with rich cheese over handmade tortillas, are perfectly balanced with a fresh herbal cocktail that refreshes between bites. Service is attentive without being intrusive, and the rhythm of the place makes you slow down — a rare thing these days. Casa Escobar isn’t just dinner; it’s an experience that connects you with the essence of Antigua: warm, slow, and beautifully timeless. ⭐️ My Take: Ideal for couples or friends looking for a quiet, elevated dining moment after exploring the cobblestone streets
We had a reservation so we got in. Place was packed and a long waiting list so ressrvation is a must. Service was a little slow but they were nice. We ordered food and it was ok, not the best I ever had but saw many dishes pass through that look wonderful, probably our selection wasn't the best. Atmosphere is nice, place really cozy.
Juan was lovely and the food was delicious, my steak cooked perfectly. Beautiful view, atmosphere was very lovely and festive, and the marshmallow at the end of the meal was perfect. I didn't feel rushed at all and everyone was very kind. I'm a solo traveler, so it's nice to feel taken care of. Very safe as well. I will be back. Thank you everyone!
We craved some carne! So we found it here. We didn’t go for the large portions but rather a few appetizers, and it was great! Fancy restaurants, but def worth it. Btw- we had the skewers, brisket for two and half a cauliflower. Wonderful!
I felt like Royalty upon entering Casa Escobar. Everyone from the hostess, bartenders and wait staff showed the utmost respect and kindness. We had the shareable tomahawk and 1lb of grilled jumbo shrimp. I'm from New York City and this was the most delicious steak I've ever eaten. The service was unmatched and greatly appreciated. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience Casa Escobar. We'll definitely see you again.
We are very glad we made a reservation ahead of time for this restaurant as it did not disappoint. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the atmosphere, service and setting was amazing. Would highly recommend visiting. Best meal we had in Antigua.
Best steakhouse in Antigua! We had a delightful time taking my father-in-law out for his 75th birthday and enjoying amazing Tomahawk steak, sides, and drinks. Highly recommend this location. Service was top-notch and the experience unforgettable.
You cannot go wrong here. Fine dining at its best and if you are lucky enough to get a table by the windows you'll eat an incredible steak with a fantastic view. The staff is very hospitable and friendly and the ambience is amazing. Highly recommend that you add this to your list of restaurants when in Antigua. I genuinely cannot say enough good things. An incredible experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Casa Escobar in Antigua is simply outstanding! The service is extraordinary—friendly, attentive, and always making you feel welcome. The meat is on another level: perfectly cooked, flavorful, and served with flair. The ambiance is elegant yet cozy, making it perfect for a special dinner or a night out. Hands down the best restaurant in town for steak lovers. Highly recommended!
The food was good the margaritas was also good but small then what I use to they have a english menu if needed I had a few drinks and some extra sides so the price was a bit high this time but we'll worth it here are some extra pictures from other times I went
The rib eye was so good. Kings for four I’d say is really big for two. So much food gotta eat quick!
Local steakhouse food chain with great quality and vibe. Food was tasty but might be a bit sweet. Drinks were great.
When I arrive at the restaurant, Stefanie the manager was so friendly and Eddy the waitress, so professional and very kind, the food was delicious, specially the soup at the beginning. If you visit Antigua Guatemala, this is the place to go for a great dinner.
Truly excellent cuisine with warm, attentive service. The steaks are amazing and so was the salmon. Plenty of signature cocktails available from the flair bartenders. Even the frozen lemonade was a piece of artwork (and delicious!)
The food, staff, atmosphere and everything was excellent, we came to eat there two times during our stay in Antigua and everything was awesome.. Would recommend to all travelers and lovers of good food
One of the best meals and experiences while in Antigua. The food was delicious. I highly recommend steak with the garlic and sangria. The bartenders were incredibly kind, and passionate about ensuring all cocktails were up to the highest standards. Highly recommend! Marshmallow dessert was a nice touch.
What a treat! Casa Escobar was such a special lively place with so much to offer. We throughly enjoyed the steaks and sides as well as their garlic bread! The waiter also helped us pair the meal with a delicious red wine. Afterwards we had an excellent dessert, an elevated chocolate brownie and topped it all off with a toasted marshmallow.
Absolutely Incredibly Delicious Steak House!!! It is on the higher end of restaurants in Antigua or Guatemala for that matter, but not really expensive for example our bill was about 900 Quetzales but in USD that's about $120 for 3 of us. The amount of food and quality of the food is well worth it, it would cost you triple that in the US. I haven't been to a US steak house that good ever and I have been to a lot. The service is top notch, the staff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed!!!
Loved everything about this place!! The food is great, the service is amazing, the ambiance is great. Loved it!
I had dinner at Casa Escobar in Antigua and it was a fantastic experience. I ordered the Escobar steak special, perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and served with great side dishes. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the elegant setting made the evening even better. Highly recommended!
This place was recommended to us by our taxi driver after a wedding, and it was absolutely amazing! The steak was so good, and so was the cauliflower appetizer. The vibes are just immaculate, and the service is the best! Prices are also accessible in comparison to other places we visited during our trip!
Really great experience at this restaurant. Professional service, delicious food, and great environment. Top quality steaks.
This steakhouse doesn't just serve food; it's creating an experience. It's a place where culinary art meets impeccable service, leaving a memory that lasts long after the last bite and sip. A must-visit for any discerning palate. Certain areas of the restaurant offer a beautiful view that truly encapsulates the essence of Antigua, allowing you to savor the view as an accompaniment to the exquisite cuisine.
Best meal we had during our whole trip to Antigua—hands down. Honestly, food in Antigua wasn’t really hitting for us… until we found this gem. Casa Escobar is a proper steakhouse, and it was exactly what we needed. After days of missing some solid protein, walking into this place felt like heaven. We definitely overate, but no regrets—it was all worth it. The steaks were delicious, cooked to perfection, super flavorful, and honestly just what we had been craving. One of the steaks wasn’t our favorite (a little too thick and tough, not the best cut), but everything else? So good. We ordered a ton of things and every single plate was spot on. The vibe of the place is cozy and charming, and the service was excellent—they were attentive the whole time, and we never had to chase anyone down for anything. If you’re in Antigua and craving some real meat, this is the place to go. You’ll leave happy and full. Highly recommend it for dinner—you won’t regret it.
the steak is worth all stars, really tender , juicy. Flavor is just balanced that bring the meat flavor itself . I would come back here if i visit antigua again .
Delish!! Best burger I’ve ever had. The Escobar salad it life changing.
Really great food. Everything was fantastic, food, service, atmosphere. Was definitely one of my finer dining experiences in Antigua. Everything had so much flavor. The dinner for two option was perfect and left me fully satisfied. The only thing is it took a tad long to have the check brought, but it wasn't a problem after waiting a little bit. We simply asked for it and it was brought. Not sure what the typical expectation is with the check in Guatemalan culture is, but easy solution.
We had a fabulous dinner here. Me and my friend split the tomahawk. It says for two people but we finished it off on our own. The presentation is fun when they bring it out and carve it up on a table next to you. The potato’s that came with it were incredible and I typically don’t order or like potato’s. The steak also came with a habanero mayo however, it’s not spicy at all. The staff was on top of everything and friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very nice and well thought out. There was jazz across the street in the ruins of the church and the whole stage was lit up in blue and purple so most of the restaurant on the first floor had a great show. Our whole group loved it and I would definitely return.
Enjoyed a fantastic lunch here! The tenderloin and carpaccio were absolutely divine. And I loved how niche the cauliflower was too (if I had to critique anything, the sauce with the cauliflower was a tad creamy) The atmosphere and friendly staff made my meal all the more enjoyable! Great stuff!
The attention to detail, this place is fabulous. All the food was 10:10. The waiter was attentive and gave great recommendations. The location is stunning and central to everything. The best restaurant I’ve been to in Antigua. We had the octopus tacos and the short rib croquettes. Both were amazing. They also gave us a complimentary soup
A group of 8 was able to get a reservation the day before. The venue was beautiful and bustling with people. We sat on the second floor. Service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. They provided us with roasted marshmallows at the end of dinner. Great times
Overall a great experience. There was a bit of confusion and a wait getting a table, but Marvin the anfitrion was helpful and made a table for us pretty quickly. We ordered a steak for 2 and it was delicious. They have a decent wine list and after dinner we treated ourselves to an amazing creme brule desert with chillacotote base. Highly recommend. Marvin made the whole experience special with his food presentations, attitude and conversations. His English is phenomenal.
We came on a Thursday night and were initially told the wait would be about an hour. Since there were only two of us, we checked back after a few minutes and were pleasantly surprised when they were able to seat us earlier. Service was great overall and our waiter was very enthusiastic, which made the experience even better. We ordered the lobster tacos, brisket, ribeye, truffle fries, and mac and cheese. The lobster tacos were excellent, and the sauce they came with complemented the lobster perfectly. The mac and cheese was also delicious and much better than I expected. The brisket was okay. The truffle fries were good, though I was expecting shoestring fries rather than wedges. The ribeye was cooked well and tasted great once I added salt, but it could have used a bit more seasoning. Overall, a really solid meal with great service and a few small misses.
Beautiful restaurant for an intimate dinner. This is a steakhouse. I didn't realize it and went in purely based on the beautiful decor. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and to offer us alternatives. Drinks were way above par. I would highly recommend it. More so if you're a steak lover. Reservations recommended.
We wanted a light dinner so just ordered half size of the cauliflower and a 10oz dry aged prime sirloin steak. The cauliflower was really well done. It looks like it would be heavy, but ended up being refreshing! The steak was a bit of a miss for me. We asked for it to be medium rare, but it was definitely on the rarer end. Nonetheless, it was still very tender. My one grip was that the steak was a little bit chalky for some reason. Not sure if it was due to the rareness or if it was may dry-aged incorrectly? I was still impressed with the tenderness. Also, usually in the states, whenever I order a steak, American restaurants like to douse the steak with butter. They didn’t do that here and really let the flavor of the steak stand out!
Reliable steak-focused restaurant w nice ambiance. My kids thought it was higher end. Saw a lot of date night couples and friends having fun. Had a window which offered a nice view but there were some street kids asking for charity that came to the window. The steak was fine. If you have access to the best dining in NYC it won’t knock your socks off in any way, but to be honest it was decent offering at super value price. I think I spend more on our local neighborhood sushi than I did here (ordered smaller portion of wagyu sirloin, ribeye, salmon carpaccio, red wine, negroni, bottled water, and desert, and came to USD 153 equiv.)
ordered the tuna tiradito and a white sangria. Both were excellent – the dish was fresh and light, and the sangria was delicious. The atmosphere was nice, and we sat upstairs, which was pleasant. However, the service felt a bit strange and not very communicative. The waiter brought the dishes without explaining anything about the sauces or presentation, and we had to ask for clarification ourselves.
Food was pretty solid. Didn’t get to try the brioche buns we ordered . Prices were great for a steakhouse . Meat was good. We got the tomahawk steak for 3. Very reasonably priced . We paid $47 USD per person for a tomahawk steak , 3 sides , bread basket , salad, appetizer and 4 cocktails . The complimentary beef broth in the beginning was great. Service was fast. Staff was friendly . Wine selection is decent . Atmosphere indoors and the outdoor seating is beautiful. The cocktails were pretty good.
The welcome tea was simply divine. A combination of floral and spices. Smoke salmon appetitizer and the panna cotta is a definite come back
Great restaurant in the middle of Antigua. It has great views to the architecture and you can also spot the Volcano. The food is good but the drinks are definitely the best. We didn’t have a reservation so we had to wait about 20 min to get in
From the outside look to service from waiter were excellent, yet somehow food were disappointed. Some how food didn’t taste no flavor (as seen some food critique person stated a similar comment). Waiter members were almost like covering this minus portion of chef and his team’s negativeness. Did enjoy some presentation and drinks and hope other locations are better
food is great but the service is really lackluster. for charging 12% tip, it’s shocking that they take 50 minutes to take orders for food and 15 minutes for water and 15 minutes for the check to come. honestly given the service, i’d recommend passing on it.
Steak is one of the easiest cuts of meat to cook, which was not reflected in the attitude of the people who work there. The receptionist was too busy on the phone to speak to us for about five minutes. Then we were told, in the most inattentive way possible, that we should make a reservation or wait thirty minutes, even though the place was half empty. I would not recommend going here, you’re better off cooking your own beef. Even the McDonald’s in Antigua is located in a beautiful historic building and is worth a visit.
