Ci siamo sentiti a casa.
Locale tradizionale, sala piccola. Penso possa ospitare al massimo 20/25 persone. Servizio puntuale e attento.
Excellent restaurant Delicious black cabbage soup , excellent pasta with citrus and a the most amazing local wines with great knowledge from our server
Amazing dining experience in Aosta, from passionate and caring locals, whose pride for their region is effusive. Our meal was incredible, and every dish backed by a story of where ingredients came from and such. A true gem of an experience and we thank you for a wonderful evening.
Wow, wow, wow - what an experience! A true local Aosta Valley meal. As a couple, the waiter recommended us to take the 1957 menu, which is five courses, plus two more, as well as wine pairings. We prefer white wine, so we had only whites - overall 5 glasses each, and he gave us 10 different wines to taste, all from Aosta Valley. It was a wonderful taste of the local viticulture, and all were really good. The food was very good as well - from the spinach quiche, to the pasta with fish, and best of all - the Bourgiugnne diss, which is self made beef fillet cuts in warm water you prepare at the table. Excellent service, delicious food and a unique local experience. It cost us 160 Euros, which is a fair and even a low price for the food and wine we had. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to! Very recommended!
Absolutely fabulous! Family run since 1957, this taverna is an absolute gem! Serving traditional dishes & house specialties all lovingly prepared and served with a personal touch and beautiful presentation. Outdoor seating in a quieter part of the city & great wine menu. We went once in 1996 and again 2025– a highlight of our trip!
Amazingly presented. Waiters were super nice. Best polenta and pasta ever. Definitely come here
I have been here last time 3 years ago and it is amazing to see that with all success it kept the tradition, this is simply the best osteria you can find in Italy! The son of the owner is also excellent sommelier suggesting always the best wine to match your food! Every time you stop by to Aosta I suggest you come to this wonderful place for your palate and to taste the real Italian tradition! Thanks Nando to always make it feel an amazing experience!
Cute little restaurant in aosta Main Street. We went for the seven course Degustazione with wine pairing. Each and every course was fantastic and typical for the region, also great wine pairings which went along very well. What we liked a lot was that the waiter always took a lot of time for us and explained the wines and courses in detail. Highly recommend this place!
Fab food, well-priced. Make sure you have the veal stew! The service here is much more pleasant and helpful with better wine recommendations than multiple Michelin-starred meals I’ve had. Would love to come back here one day!
Excellent restaurant in AOSTA LOCATION 10/10 : Well located in AOSTA center, easy to reach. STAFF 10/10 : staff of the restaurant is welcoming and well prepared. QUALITY OF FOOD 10/10 : high quality food and dishes very well prepared PREPARATION OF FOOD 10/10 : We took one of the available tasting menus. 5 courses plus cheese and dessert. Everything was really good. Good choice of flavors and ingredients TOTAL 10/10 : For me one of the best restaurant in Aosta. We went there to celebrate a special day over lunch. We stayed there for quite some time (until 15:30) but the STAFF didn't complain and they were actually happy about our celebration in their restaurant. Overall a great experience. If you are in Aosta I strongly suggest you to go there, but be sure to make a reservation in advance as the restaurant is quite small and don't have many tables.
A well-developed menu and professional, hospitable staff compliment a proud foundation of regional fare. Small, cozy dining room. Not overcrowded. Booking ahead is necessary, as it seems the small dining room accepts one group per table per night. If you do book ahead, you are clearly welcomed to sit and enjoy as many beautiful courses as desired. As for me, I’ll return.
Just a fabulous Aosta restaurant. The food is excellent often with a clever well thought back story. The bagna cauda is superb. The cabbage and fontina agnolotti a take on valpelline soup was incredible. There’s an excellent Aosta wine list which the owners are incredibly passionate about. Great friendly service.
We had an excellent experience at da Nando. This restaurant seemed less geared towards tourists and more about the true Aosta culinary experience. Our server, Paolo, was excellent and patiently explained the different dishes to us, as well as explained each dish as he brought it to our table. The food was unique and very good. While we did not have the wine pairings, I was impressed at the very reasonable price. We also highly recommend the meat platter as an appetizer as well as the peach dessert. We were surprised at the end of our meal as our bill was beyond reasonable. We will certainly be visiting again. Thank you Paolo for making our dining experience special.
The caramelized onion with the warm cheese and cold Fontina gelato on top is one of the best things I've ever eaten. This is a true family run restaurant on a pedestrian street with nonna in the kitchen preparing delicious local dishes and the rest of the family providing friendly service and great beer and wine choices. Buon appetito!
Amazing traditional food, a true gem 💎 of Valle d’Aosta. Top quality and awesome service. Try not to miss the polenta, which is exquisite, or the legendary fondue de bourguignon, which is going to make your day a better one. As a dessert we tried the Tarte Tatin, which is possibly the best we ever had. The restaurant is Family run and you can see the dedication and love that goes into it. Prices are very moderate, considering the ingredients, quality and execution. If you're lucky you will also stumble across celebrities that are filming nearby (Happened to us), as this is a place of choice for connoisseurs. I read (Very few) negative reviews and I wonder how biased they are. Either these people had a bad day, or they do not understand the first thing about food. I see them praising conventional burger joints in Milan, extremely expensive and pretty mediocre as food goes and lash out at this restaurant. You would not be able to eat an appetizer at this price in Milan and taste is taste, I understand, but sometimes good is just objective and this Osteria deserve nothing less than 4 stars to 5 stars. Beware of obviously biased negative comments. 😊👍😊👍🙏😋
This family run restaurant in a cozy space on one of the main drags was a pleasant surprise with its menu choices of local food and wines. We chose one of the fixed price choices of 5 dishes, each paired with a glass of wine. 3 dishes would have suited us better- we barely made it out, we were so full. My veal chop came on a sizzling platter, cut tableside by "Momma"- she cut all the orders of veal at the various tables and it was quite a show. For the 4th dish, we each received a bountiful cheese plate- mine was a selection of cow cheese and my husband's was goat cheese. The son was our waiter and he moved from Italian to French to English with relative ease around the restaurant. The restaurant seats around 25 at any one time. It was delightful and the son went out of his way to explain each dish and the wines paired alongside. Several families with small children were also eating here- child friendly! I will recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Aosta.

Pranzo di Santo Stefano last minute consigliato dal nostro hotel. Prenotazione facile via whatsapp. Tutto ottimo e no stress. Ambiente accogliente. Prezzi in linea.

Nice local food with extensive wine menu. The polenta is amazing as is the cold cuts plates. Excellent service and sommelier. Almost all wines can be served by the glass.
Food is good, service is very "uptight" and because of that the atmosphere feels uneasy in spite of being in Aosta. Smiling to your guests will not hurt you guys... What is most upsetting is that one hears the microwave oven Pinging .. bing, bing, non stop. I understand that microwaves are commonly used in restaurants, but the sound makes one feel like in a fast-food joint. Advise from my side, remove this bell, please. These are the reasons why I only give you three stars. We will not go back there, the dinner experience got spoiled even though the food is good.

I recently had some friends visiting me in Aosta and decided to take them to this restaurant, as I had enjoyed a good experience here in the past. Unfortunately, this visit turned into one of the most shocking and unpleasant dining experiences I have ever had. We were a group of four and ordered the trout, the fonduta, and the bourguignonne to share. The owner, who was serving us, seemed surprised by our order and his demeanour was rude and abrupt, so we double-checked with his son, the other server, asking whether ordering both fonduta and bourguignonne would be too much. He reassured us that it was fine, explaining that we could enjoy the fonduta while the bourguignonne cooked. When the food arrived, things immediately began to go wrong. The fonduta was served completely cold, alongside a single portion of bourguignonne: one plate of meat, one cooker, and one set of sauces. We clarified that we had ordered four portions, not one, at which point three more plates of meat were brought—but still only one cooker and no additional sauces. We were left trying to cook four portions of meat on a single burner. To make matters worse, the cooker repeatedly went out. We relit it ourselves several times, but it kept failing. When we raised the issue, the staff dismissed our concerns, saying it was “just catching the wind wrong.” Eventually, after much persistence on our part, they reluctantly changed it—only after first trying to “fix” it by adding more lighter fluid and even placing a serving plate in front of it (see photo). No apologies for getting the order wrong or the cooker not working properly. By the time the bill arrived, we were deeply dissatisfied with the service and politely asked for a small discount to reflect the poor experience. What followed was truly unbelievable. Immediately, both the owner and his son became extremely hostile, shouting at us in front of the entire restaurant. They accused us of ordering incorrectly, of cooking too much meat at once, and even of having come to the restaurant to get a free meal. The owner and his son repeatedly demanded, “How much do you want off your bill?” while shouting aggressively. At one point, the owner even moved towards us in such a threatening manner that his son had to physically hold him back. They told us to leave without paying which we were not comfortable doing. We made it clear that we were not asking for a free meal, only a fair adjustment. In fact, we then insisted on paying in full just to de-escalate the situation and because we felt insulted by their insinuation. Shockingly, they then refused to let us pay at all until, after a long and humiliating argument, they finally took our payment—only to throw €40 in cash at us, saying “here is your discount.” We left it and walked out, utterly embarrassed in front of my guests. I have never been treated so badly in a restaurant. The service was appalling, and the behaviour of the staff beyond unacceptable. I will never return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone.
We went to this restaurant in Aosta and unfortunately no inst@gram post for this one. My wife got rice and mushrooms but... topped with worms ! Bad experience. They offered the dish and it was... ok. Even worst was that after paying and leaving; the waiter ran to check if we left money... That's when we decided to leave our first one star comment. Attached is a picture of the antipasti charged 18€. Follow our GOOD adventures on Instagram @gojiandbear
