Authentic, heartwarming Italian food — the best way to start and end our trip We’re a Canadian family traveling through Lake Como, and Ristorante Barchetta in Argegno was the first place we ate — and it left such an impression, we made sure it was also our last meal before heading home. From the moment we stepped in, Antonio made us feel like part of the family. He’s warm, genuine, and pours his heart into his food and restaurant. There’s nothing commercial or touristy about this place — just real, authentic Italian hospitality and unforgettable meals. We asked Antonio for his recommendations and he curated a beautiful dinner: Ossobuco – rich, tender, and full of depth Braised beef cheeks – absolutely melt-in-your-mouth Fresh lake fish – light, simple, and perfectly cooked And a homemade grey pasta — a local specialty we had never seen before. It was fresh, earthy, and uniquely delicious. Even our two picky little minions — who are normally tough customers — devoured their meals. That’s how you know the food is next-level! This place is the real deal. No tourist fluff, no gimmicks — just incredible food, local charm, and Antonio’s passion on full display. Barchetta is a must if you're anywhere near Argegno or Lake Como. We’re heading back to Canada already missing it.

The food was so delicious we came back 2 days in a row for dinner. Steak fillet was done to perfection and risotto was super flavourful. Also highly recommend their anchovy dish that cames with a side of bread. Staff were friendly and service was excellent. I ordered the steak 2 days in a row and the server remembered that I preferred medium doneness! Highly recommend for high quality food without breaking the bank.

Lovely lunch with very good service at lunch time. Not too busy and quick service. Staff spoke English pretty well and gave good options on food.. Lots of older local clients in morning. Nice location just opposite the boat terminal

Very nice family restaurant. Good food and good wine 🍷 the owner and his servers are very nice and will try to accommodate you if you need to change the dish. Go there and enjoy you will not be disappointed if like Italian food. Must try the chocolate mousse cake with rum.

Absolutely DELICIOUS. Food was fresh and so tasty! All of the staff were so friendly. The owner saw that my husband and I were a bit chilled when the sun went down so he gave us both blankets. Come here for amazing authentic food where the staff makes you feel welcome!

AMAZING. One of the top 5 meals of my life. We had the eggplant parmesan, gnocchi bolognese, and the beef cheeks. The dessert was also amazing. Great service, atmosphere, and overall experience.

Provato a pranzo, ottima location, facile anche il parcheggio, la cucina è quella classica di Lago e non, ottimi i pesci di lago, personale gentilissimo e mai opprimente, insomma un'ottima giornata.

Buon ristorante sul lago di Como. Consiglio il risotto al persico e qual che missoltino (pesce conservato in barili). Prezzi non troppo bassi.

Siamo stati a cenare in questo ristorante per la prima volta. Abbiamo avuto la fortuna di trovare posto nella loro terrazza panoramica e bisogna ammettere che la vista e l'atmosfera che si respira ė da perdere il fiato. Abbiamo ordinato un antipasto con formaggi e affettati misti (senza infamia e senza lode) mentre come portata principale abbiamo ordinato il filetto di manzo ai funghi porcini e la guancetta di manzo con polenta. Filetto: SPETTACOLARE... cottura media perfetta, tenerissima, qualità della carne fenomenale, al palato si apprezzava un esplosione di gusto (boooooom 🎆) fantastica!! Guancetta: morbidissima e dal gusto speziato al punto giusto. Nel complesso sicuramente da riprovare 🔝🔝 Ps: ad un tavolo vicino ho visto i tagliolini ai porcini.... mmmmmmm.... la prossima volta li provo!!!

Stopped here for lunch and was pleased with the food. The view is amazing, you have a great view of lake como as your having lunch while sitting on the terrace. The restaurant is located in a little piazza. Prices are fair considering that your in como. If your near by would definitely recommend to stop and have lunch and enjoy the view.

Lovely place to have lunch in Argegno! We tried the typical dish, which is pasta with lake fish flakes dressed with olive oil and local white wine. A bit pricey, but definitely worth if you happen to be visiting this town!

Bar Ristorante posto in una graziosa piazzetta di fronte al lago di Como. Abbiamo preso solo il caffè posto incantevole personale cordiale prezzi nella media

Abbiamo pranzato in questo ristorante, nonostante l'accoglienza del titolare sia stata veramente maleducata. Ha ripreso in malo modo il cameriere che ci stava accompagnando al tavolo perché a breve la cucina chiudeva: erano le 13.50 e il cartello esposto indicava 14.30, nonostante su Internet l'orario di apertura indicasse 9-00. Abbiamo ordinato , tra l'altro, 2 risotti ai funghi (buoni, ma nulla di eccezionale) . Non penso che ci torneremo.

Servizio al tavolo lento, per un antipasto di salumi circa 20 min di attesa, stessa cosa per i primi e i secondi, il coniglio era pieno di ossa rotte, ogni morso era quasi una sofferenza, la polenta sembrava quella già pronta delle bustine che compri al supermercato, quindi il coniglio con polenta bocciato, anche l'antipasto era composto da affettato non di qualità lo stesso che potrei procurarmi andando al supermercato e spendendo molto poco, anche la bresaola non sembrava della zona nonostante la vicinanza con la Valtellina, i ravioli con l'aneto invece molto buoni. Prosecco buono, molto cordiali ma la qualità del cibo per quello che ho mangiato non mi è piaciuta, mi aspettavo diversamente. Il conto tutto sommato normale, niente di esagerato, circa 30 euro a testa nonostante non abbia mangiato benissimo. Qualità del locale e tempi di servizio per me bocciati, per il resto il posto è carino e si ha una vista sul lago che è molto importante qui. Tipico posto acchiappaturisti.

We went there to get tiramisu which they sadly didn’t have. We ended up ordering the smallest plate of tomato mozzarella for 15€ and some water. You get a basket with very dry bread for free and in the end we had to pay 3€ per person for eating indoors. The food was alright but overpriced and it felt like a tourist trap.

The food was inedible. Both meals arrived after just 5 minutes. The mushroom tagliatelle was just dried out plain pasta with a few mushrooms chucked on top (with no sauce). The spaghetti carbonara was just as bad with curdled sauce. Never before have I left a restaurant after two bites. No wonder there were no locals in this restaurant. The owner was aggressive and rude, and bullied us in to paying despite not us not wanting any of it.

Be very careful. Do not pay cash! He scammed me. I had to pay 114 euro's. I gave him TWO 50 euro notes and one 20 euro note. He went back inside and it took him about 2 minutes to return and show me only one note of 50 and one of 20. He insisted i only gave him one 50 euro not. I had 4 notes in my wallet. After i gave him another one. Just one was left in my wallet. My son saw me give him two also. He is a scammer. Service and food was great. And i even tipped. And than being scammed. We could have eaten there many more times that week. Ofcourse we did NOT.
