Fantastic. I felt like I was at an actual bbq with family 🍗🍟

I will have to say Sebastian was phenomenal, he knew the menu & the drinks, gave great suggestions and had excellent customer service. We ordered the quarter chicken, ribs, honey bourbon chicken wings, shrimp skewers and the brisket black beans which everything was by far Fantastic. We were able to meet the owner Chris whom has a beautiful spirit. Batesy's BBQ food definitely demonstrated the love put into each dish. The wait wasn't long and we appreciate places like this. So Chris also suggested Pico and we can't wait to try them next.

Got to admit the food was good. I was a bit reluctant to try batesy's, but I am happy I did. The beef brisket was good. The Buffalo wings was good also. I think they might have the best wings on the peninsula. The corn was also good. I wasn't really feeling the cornbread. The customer service was good also. I will be back.

I just ordered food from here tonight for the first time through Uber eats. I thought the food was delicious. It had flavor tasty . I got the brisket sandwich and corn on the cob. It was good. Chicken sandwich was for my daughter and it was crispy and fresh. I was happy with their food.

I was doing UberEats picking up an order from here one day and when I was done working, I drove back to get food for myself. I had the Loaded fries with the wings. It was amazingly good, 10/10, 💯percent recommend this place. It’s a vibe🔥🔥.

Fantastic new Place founded by Rockaway natives. Their Smoker is magic and putting out the best BBQ on the peninsula. Highly recommend their cocktails too! Update: I go here regularly and just want to say that all this complaining about doneness of their food is a bunch of BS. They specifically have Jumbo Wings which have a bloodline, so if you are a person who is used to eating “super well done” food, this probably ain’t for you. But if you like good BBQ and understand how meat should be cooked, this place is great. I almost Laughed our Loud when I heard someone say ribs were underdone because they had a smoke ring in them.

Initially, I was upset about my card being overcharged and left a bad review. I am used to prices being higher in my neighborhood so when I got my bill it seemed within the price range I normally pay to eat out with my family. It wasn't until I was on my way home with my very tired children that my husband asked about the bill and we realized the bill was off by quite a bit. I wasn't going to go back at that point and try to correct it as I had to get my kids home to bed, so I thought I was just out the money. Luckily, the owner reached out to me and corrected the mistake. I really appreciate his honesty in doing that and it changed my perspective on the experience. Everything else about the restaurant we liked, the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and the service were all good.

We came in with a large group and were served well and fast with really good food. Our group ended up coming to carry out later one evening and they did a wonderful job serving us. I highly suggest this place if you’re in town!

Came here for dinner with my family and had a great experience!! We all ordered something different and we were all extremely happy! The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel at home, even my almost two year old! We have since ordered in multiple times since! So happy to have Batesys in our neighborhood!

Local bbq spot. Usually order the honey bourbon wings as wifey doesn’t like spicy and these are pretty tasty. My little kid likes their hamburgers. Recently ordered their chicken sandwich and that was very good. Plus their crispy stuffed Mac balls are amazing. I’ve had fried Mac and cheese before but they had some pork ribs to it and it’s delicious.

I love Batesy’s!! The service and food was excellent!! I will 100% be coming back for more! The Southerner Cocktail is to die for with just the right amount of mint complementing that delicious bourbon!! I had to have more than one!! For food, I ordered the seared sausage sandwich which was great. The sausage was cooked perfectly and I was obsessed with the bbq Caramelized onions! YUM!!!

By far the best BBQ place in Rockaway. Everything that my family and I have had from Batesy's has been outstanding. Even my two picky eaters love it- especially the mac and cheese and pulled pork! Our favorites are the ribs, brisket, pulled pork and my personal favorite - the bang bang chicken sandwich! The staff is so friendly and polite. We cannot wait for indoor dining to resume. If you are in the mood for good, melt in your mouth food, Batesy's is the place to go!

I would go here just to order the Mac n' Cheese again! The menu doesn't really do the restaurant justice but when you see the waiter walking past you with food to the next table, it doesn't matter what it is, you'll want it, and this was only the quinoa salad I'm talking about lol (I don't even know what that is lol) I think I heard about it on Dr. Oz though. The fries were seasoned perfectly Corn bread lightly buttered Mac and cheese was sooo cheesy inside with a light cheesy crunch exterior. Fried chicken came in large portions that stayed hot and crunchy throughout the 45 minutes we took to eat. Never got cold and oily. Neither did the Mac n' cheese. These cooks really have something going on here and it's all good. Ps don't forget to order your drinks. I had the sangria which isn't strong but puts you in a "good mood". My girl had the "Ah-So Rose" can 12.5% alc. She's a light weight and the small can made her giggly and bubbly. The soundtrack that they play here didn't help contain her either. Each song is curated to keep your foot tapping and fork moving. Overall experience: 5/5 Staff : 5/5 Food : 5/5 Quality: 5/5 Portion size : 4/5 (you will be stuffed still!) Alcohol: 5/5 Price: well 2 people can eat well for 60ish dollars So I'd say that's very affordable for the quality. Definitely give this place a try. Parking lot in the back but don't park there on a rainy day, the tracks leak old white substance all over your car or the pigeons will make target practice of your vehicle if you park on the north side of the lot.

I came here on a whim with my parents and were blown away by this gem. We walked in and were greeted by a gentleman who gave us a rundown of how the restaurant worked. It’s simple, but it’s extremely helpful to have a friendly face there to point you in the right direction. Seat yourself, order/pay at the counter, food/drinks served at your table. Seating is first come first served basis. The table seating area inside is somewhat limited but there are a number of tables outside. There’s also bar seating and seating at a countertop adjacent to the kitchen. We went at peak dinner time on a Saturday and managed to snag a table for 3 pretty quickly. You can also take your order to go, but the vibe is worth sticking around for. Be patient! Service was quick, accurate, and courteous. We got our food in 5-10 minutes and it was GOOD. Now I’m not super well versed in BBQ, but this was some of the best I’ve had. We got brisket, pulled pork, and ribs and all of it melted in your mouth. Sauces were great too. We got Mac n cheese, potato salad, and slaw for sides. The mac and the potato salad were fantastic. I’m not much for slaw but it was pretty good still. Great selection of beer as well. Got a local draft from Finback Brewing and loved it. Got to watch my Pitt Panthers knock of UCF on one of two TVs and they also had a great playlist that I hope they never change. Knock knock by Mac Miller came on before I got my food and, at that moment, Batesy’s had won me over. Honestly, fire BBQ joint with good people, vibes, and aesthetics. I live in western queens but I’d GLADLY take the trip back to hang here.

Does! Not! Disappoint! Date night drinks turned into one of the best bbq meals I've eaten! I started with the southerner cocktail, the fresh mint perfectly balanced the drink and hit the spot. I'm not a beer person, but my husband is and the beer menu was extensive and satisfied his love for unique and hard-to-find beers in the area. My husband got the honey baked beans and brisket... the brisket was super tender (I know this because it was so good I ended up "sharing” half of his... whoops!). I got the seared sausage sandwich, the sausage was crisp and juicy and the beer mustard was the perfect topping... bonus, I found out Batesy's gets the sausage from a local deli, loved hearing they support local businesses. I can't say enough about Batesy's, it's all-around a solid restaurant, start to finish.

I have ordered multiple times from this restaurant through Urber Eats. The food is delicious. I have had the smoked brisket sandwich, smoked brisket meat, Mac and cheese, French fries and. Key Lime pie.

I enjoy this location. The staff is amazing and very friendly. The Staff Sabastian, Chris, Liz, Mercedes, Matt and Tim are great. Wonderful personalities. Friday night Hip-Hop & R&B night has become my favorite decompression from a long work week. The DJ knows his music well. The atmosphere is a real vibe. I am a pescatarian, so I am limited in my food selection. The Impossible Burger and Tuscan Kale salad are my go-to items. The Crab Cakes for brunch is not a bad choice as well. It's nice to have a local spot to relax, eat and have a drink. Would recommend a visit.

I've been here once and was truly impressed. The menu is filled with awesome and tasty choices. Definitely stop here for some good dishes. I ordered the chicken sandwich and fries. Simply delicious and fresh. Price is fair also. Dining in was cool because I was able to experience their frozen mixed cocktail and mixed drinks. Overall a must visit for sure.

Batesy’s is our #1 pick in town! We get takeout, delivery, and we dine in - the food quality is consistently excellent. We have so many favorites depending on what mood we’re in but my favorite is the burger. The burger is the best on the peninsula (big statement- I know but I stand by it) & always cooked to the right temp! I also love the pulled pork and the bang bang chicken sandwich. This top notch BBQ spot has even managed to nail the kale salad! The atmosphere, staff, and service is great. They always go above and beyond with their specialty cocktails (which we also get delivered on a regular basis). Can’t say enough great things. Batesy’s is a must!

Came here with my boyfriend for the first time last week and it will not be my last. I had an amazing experiences the food was fresh and delicious. My Server was amazing and funny I believe his name is Sebastian if I am not mistaken, He is the go to server though everyone is nice :) and may I add the drinks are to die for … don’t look no further if you want a good meal, nice time and get treated well!

I really like batesys. I’ve been ordering from here since they opened. Bang bang chicken sandwich and bang bang chicken are the only thing I ever order and they are 5 stars!!!! I am trying to understand HOW the wings are so good. How? That being said, the other day I tried the brisket and I actually heard an angelic choir sing when I put it in my mouth. Also, they made a mistake with their orders the other night. It wasn’t a huge deal for me, but they went out of their way to make it right by reaching out personally and offering a gift card. In the several years I have been ordering from them, things only went wrong once.

Awesome new BBQ joint. Had the ribs, mac and cheese, deviled eggs, and skewered shrimp. All were amazing. They really came out swinging to be the best BBQ place in the area. Bringing some much needed food diversity to a spot that only really had a couple decent food spots in walking distance of the train stop. I hope they start delivery service soon! Really nice bar selection as well, with some interesting beer I haven't tried before that was a delight.

This place is fantastic! If you are looking for interesting and delicious cocktails alongside incredibly mouthwatering barbecue, do yourself a favor and visit Batesy's. You can't go wrong with any of the food options but my personal recommendations are the ribs, the pulled pork, and the cornbread. To top it all off, the service was wonderful and so friendly in a relaxed but very nice environment. Great place, all the stars!

If Pico RBNY and my dreams had a baby, this would be it. BBQ is spot on, ribs out of this world. Great service, bar selection and relaxed atmosphere. There's a bunch of great food in Arverne, but there is something special about the vibe and kictchen at Batsey's.

The service was amazing and they were very accommodating with our son. Everything came out quick and fresh. It was our first time but we will for sure be back.

Its getting harder to find quality casual restaurants but Batesy's is a real gem. Great food, healthy options, fast no-nonsense service. I look forward to coming back.

The chicken sandwich was delicious. Right by the beach area. The people that work there is also nice.

We ordered a couple of drinks and their beach box. We had a couple drinks while waiting. The staff is great and friendly. The meat was spectacular. The side dishes were the only disappointment. Next time, we will try different sides. Since we are just moving to the area. It is nice to see all the improvements since I was a kid there.

I came here a few times, and all I can say is that the food was delicious!! You need to order their wings!! I literally go on ubereats on a lazy Saturday night and order my wings because they're great size, and the seasoning is on point!! If you like a sweet drink, definitely get the Jolly Ranch!! The waiter that took care of us twice was very kind and sweet. I'm sorry I forgot your name, but I definitely remember how you look. It is a small restaurant, but during the spring, summer, and fall, they have tables outside. I highly recommend this restaurant!! That's a video of my daughter enjoying those jumbo wings...!!

We were recommended this place by a friend. We came at non-peak time, so can't speak for atmosphere and service when it's busy but we loved it here. Service excellent. Corn bread AMAZING. We ordered a cocktail not on the menu and they were happy to help. We ended up ordering food to go, even though we had just popped in for a drink and a snack.

Went on a Saturday aftenoon, nice atmosphere. Staff was lovely and attentive ordered ribs, wings and crab cakes. Crab cakes were little wonderful. Seasoned bites, wings were tender my friends order the parmasean flavor.. not my liking but the wings were tender and the ribs were my favorite. I.like spicy so i.put more pepper sauce on mine. The cocktails are great as well. Howver they charged me for the cherries because they prepare their own cherries. I will certainly go back but no cherries plz.

For the first time today, I ordered a delicious sliced smoked brisket sandwich with coleslaw and pickles along with sautéed greens. The brisket was tender and delicious and the greens were scrumptious. I will absolutely order from Batesy's again. It was a perfect meal for a Sunday afternoon after church.Yummmmmmm!! Batesy’s BBQ and bar just earned themselves two life long customers. My boyfriend and I decided to come eat here after spending sometime on the boardwalk and we really enjoyed our meal and drinks. We had the brisket cheese fries, Grilled shrimp skewer and half a rack of St. Louis style ribs. Everything was amazing and so flavorful. Even the drinks were on point we had the pico margarita and jack black (I definitely recommend trying it) The owner Chris and waiter Sebastian were also very nice, warm and welcoming ❤️ we really appreciated their hospitality and we will definitely be coming back with our family and friends.

This review is long overdue! Friendly service and food so delicious, whether dine-in or delivery orders. We love the pork ribs, pulled pork, chicken wings and brisket with potato salad or fries, but are often done eating before we think of taking pictures. Will rectify that soon. Their hilarious sidewalk boards literally coax you in as you will see.

Batesy’s is a place I always return to every summer for their frozen Hennessy coladas! They are blended to creamy perfection every time, and the bold flavors of pineapple and coconut are supreme. This restaurant and bar has a very modern layout. Lots of draft beers available. I loved how the BBQ meats were available in 5 oz sizes, instead of just the usual 1/4 lb, 1/2 lb, etc. This let me try different meats while just visiting solo. They also have a vast selection of sides. I had the excellent slaw and mac and cheese. Right off B67 St subway station too. I''m going to be visiting on more of my Rockaway trips!

Absolutely love this place!! If you want a nice quality restaurant, don't hesitate to come here. Their food and drinks are so well made and tasty, it makes you want to come back again and again. Their henny coladas are incredible, as well as their jumbo wings. Atmosphere is super fancy and relaxing, definitely a place I will keep on coming to for nice dinners. The staff is super professional and ask how you're doing to make sure you're pleased with your time there.

The people are cool, the food is great, the environment is awesome. Only thing is their potion sizes are strange because sometimes it’s bigger when doing a take out and smaller when eating in, their chicken sandwich is the best I ever had there, very fresh and juicy.

First "burger" I got, which was on second day they opened, was a pathetic excuse of a slice of stale bread with a shoe sole of a steak and the cheese was so non-existent it felt like a micro-aggression. I almost chocked on that thing. I felt offended that I paid $20 for that +dry fries. I was daydreaming of smooching it in the chef's face. But I happened to be starving so I swallowed my pride. (My pride was easier to swallow than that burger, took about a gallon of water to help it go down) Figured I'd never set foot in this place since I'm not into masochism but it's the only burger place around so had to give it another try eventually. Took me a year. Second time around I asked for every single condiment, and the meat was worth the cow's life, it was fairly juicy and tasty. Fries weren't bad and better priced. They redeemed themselves. Not mind blown but definitely a solid 8/10 non-choky burger! I enjoyed it. Since have gone a third time and was equally tasty burger. I'll be coming back ;)

Great restaurant by the beach. This is in those developments by the subway. They have a big menu including some tasty looking bbq. I really really wanted to try it but I was really in the mood for a hamburger. Service was friendly and quick. The ambiance is friendly and beachy

The staff was really accommodating and friendly! We were greeted right away and received our drinks and food pretty fast. The food is very cheap compared to other places in the city. I got the brisket sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. The brisket could’ve been seasoned more. It didn’t really do it for me. Would love to come back and try other items on the menu. Mac and cheese was really good though!

Batesy’s BBQ and Bar was the perfect stop for lunch after a three mile stroll on the boardwalk. These first timers were exploring and decided on Batesy’s. What a good choice. Gerard greeted us immediately and was very hospitable. He and Chris provided us with exceptional service. We ordered the Batesy’s Beach Box which was enough food for three people and of great value. The corn on the cob could’ve cooked a little longer but OMG the cornbread, the brisket, chicken and the St. Louis ribs were delicious! The cornbread was served with a side of butter that when drizzled atop the cornbread it made for a mouthwatering experience. My companion shared that the Henny Colada was superb🤩. While the patio would have been perfect, we decided to dine inside with the diverse restaurant goers. Batesy’s has a wonderful staff, good food and a great location!

Was disappointed. The Mac N Cheese was not good at all, tasted like something out of the 📦 box! Didn't like the slaw either and the ribs were almost bacon like in texture. I'm going to give it one more try and update my review.

Classic BBQ in Rockaway. This got me through a 4th of July fix for sure. It wasn’t anything like life changing incredible, but it wasn’t like “I wouldn’t go here again.” It’s perfect for: I’ve been at the beach all day and I’m craving some American BBQ. Ribs were good, nice sauce and they slid off the bone. The wings are good as well, not that spicy. The cornbread was delicious, coleslaw was normal, sautéed greens were kale / broccolini w garlic, and corn was corn. Our host was very nice and helped us pick a cocktail when we were indecisive.

2.5 🌟 if I could but being the meal was more on the 3 side I rounded up. $45+tx+delivery = $56 order This is suppose to be a BBQ place. Portion and flavor was definitely NOT worth the price. The sauce ALONE made the meal. Meal was to be smoked but only taste/smell that in the sauce, not meat, even though faint as though liquid smoke was the only thing used. Food texture was soft, edible, but there were no flavor. Seems the same cut that was used for the ribs was used for the pulled pork which everyone knows it shouldn't be. The corn was sprinkled with paprika and butter and was FRESH to the taste and "oily", where's the flavor? The cornbread was full of corn and butter (very buttery) with no flavors beyond that. The fries were soggy and not at all crunchy or tasted fresh. Meal came room temp, the most, it's summer right now and delivery person delivered item on time with no delay.

The preparation was really disappointing last night. I preordered food last night before closing and when I got home, the chicken was completely undercooked and bleeding pink and the fatty pieces of brisket were mostly just fat. Had to get rid of most of the food. Not what I expect from here.

This place at first was good, not sure what happened??? But here is what i order ,mac bites that were old and not fresh burnt cheese in the inside. Pickles which are my husband's favorite were dry and not edible. My sausage was not cooked well at all and the crab cakes has a bunch of fillers for 15 dollars. And the workers are rude if they dont know who you are.. And was just recommend this place for catering but not now.

I have been to Batesys dining in take out & home delivery. Never disappointed until my Most recent home delivery, ordered jumbo wings came over cooked a little on dry hard side. I ordered the 5 ounce Brisket came with a few nice slices which were delicious but below was a fatty lump of scraps. Forgot to send fries with order, brought them 30 min later. Not saying wouldn't try again but definitely disappointed on my last order!

Cool bar, small but cozy. Tried the brisket sandwich or should I say extra fatty trim sandwich. Nope! Didn’t request untrimmed brisket, so maybe specify that or you’ll get a 6 oz brisket fat sandwich. I had to trim it myself. Heart attacks are not my thing. The fries are $3.50 extra to add on after 3 pm during the week. You get a lot in a small paper bag for to go orders. Otherwise it’s $2 during lunch to add to a sandwich. Standalone is $5 in store. The fries I got tasted like they were fried fresh any other day but the day I bought them. It seemed like they were refried to rekindle the heat on them. Never tasted anything like it. Horrible. So, first impression is not very positive. This cannot be the best they have to offer.

Overpriced, low quality food(mac and cheese is flat, brisket is more fat then meat)and I don’t like hearing the “N” word played loudly over the outside speaker. Will never eat from this place again. My husband called and was told that the “cool N I’m cool” is apart of the normal play list. Done on all levels!!!

Ordered a half pound of brisket and was excited to try a new spot in Rockaways. When I got home I was surprised to find very little actual meat. No exaggerations close to 70% fat. Not sure I would be willing to try anything else on the menu.

Never order Uber eats from this place. They forgot one of my items and blamed Uber eats for the issue. Uber eats is a waste anyway. These restaurants and delivery services cost way too much money for mistakes. FYI, the food is not that good. Cornbread had a burnt taste and ribs..I’ve had better. Way too expensive for bad food. Go elsewhere!

Horrible!!! Catfish was disgusting. Not sure if the oil it was fried in was bad or what but i couldn’t swallow it. It went right in the closest napkins next to me. There was not a tiny drop of seasoning. It was as if they caught it and through it in flour and oil to cook. Just writing about it is making me sick all over again. Now i will say this the ninja’s red potato salad what our if this world.. thankfully i had that to eat. I gave 4 stars because i was met with a smile

Would not recommend. I called over the phone to order a shrimp skewer and SPECIFICALLY told the server that I ONLY wanted shrimp, Green vegetables, and french fries. The server agreed and said there would be no extra ingredients. When I opened my order, I was mortified! The vegetables were over cooked (tasted very bitter and mushy). The french fries were burnt. On top of that, I found some brown stuff on my food (when I told the server not to include any other ingredients). The employees were also having deep conversations, which resulted in me not getting greeted when I walked in. I was the only customer inside the store WAITING to pay. Overall, mediocre food that I can make at home and terrible customer service. If only google would allow 0 stars.

Came today with my family & my daughter usually loves the Mac & cheese , but the recipe has obviously changed drastically! This is our 5th time here since the opening but last time we were here was last summer so it’s been a while . Everything was VERY watered down & did not taste like it used to at all ! My husband & I were very disappointed! We had Mac & cheese beans chicken sandwich & fish sandwich ! NOT RECOMMENDED !

It took this barbecue restaurant 30+ minutes to prepare a BBQ sandwich during a period when they weren't busy and then they got my order wrong. I can't imagine what a mess this place must be when it has multiple customers. Solid 1 star place. Definitely avoid if possible.

My son lives near here and wanted to eat there. The food was gross. The brisket didn’t taste like anything. The burger was so greasy it stained my shirt. Also didn’t taste like anything. My grandson who ordered fries and chicken didn’t eat. So I tasted his fries worse fries ever. Not a kid friendly menu. I’m done I got that out of my system. Oh one more thing everything is sold a la cart so I paid a ridiculous price for garbage food

No flavor @ all to Expensive,very small amount of food for $49 bucks never again. I order bang chicken sandwiches Deviled eggs,corn bread & the batesy drink

Super expensive. Burger was so dry had nothing on it. We did ubereats and for 42 dollars we got 3 Little sandwiches and a small mac and cheese. Never ever again. Save your money. 10 dollars for a single burger and just a bun, mc Donald's would have been a better choice.this was a terrible choice waste of money. If I could have given this place a zero i would.

It was horrible. If you see how they make their macaroni and cheese, you would feel disgusted. The chicken wings I ordered were supposed to be well done, had blood on the bone- nobody should be consuming food prepared in that manner. It’s not fast food, it’s food that’s not prepared properly- would never go back, nor would I recommend a friend. Thank God I did not get sick... would not feed it to my dog, type of bad... tried them twice, I know good food

This is my third time ordering Batesy’s Bbq and the first two times I ordered food, it was delicious. Today I ordered the same meat, smoked brisket and I was more than disappointed. The sliced brisket I ordered was sitting in a container with more oil and fat than actual meat. I also ordered the Coleslaw and it was over dressed with mayonnaise, more than I had last month. I don’t think I will be returning, I am turnef off. I’m not sure if maybe because I ordered to go is the reason I was given all of the fat of the brisket, but I am unhappy.

Ordered a catfish sandwich, and fries. Never again, the fish was greasy, hard, there was no fish, just a greasy hard outer shell, with no recognizable fish insides. The fries were soggy, some even stuck together , and under cooked. I just threw the whole meal away. I wouldn’t feed it to a dog! Totally disgusting.
