Opinions de Bel Aire Diner Astoria
The food is good ! Sooo much options! The customer service is top notch! Veronica was very attentive and checking on me frequently! I would definitely come back again!
Loved this diner. Large portions and very friendly staff - everyone was working together, I never really had to wait for utensils, drinks or service. Food came out very quick too!
We love it here! it is the perfect neighborhood spot and the food and service is always great. I truly have not had a single bad bite or experience in my many visits, including bringing parents from out of town.
Man I hope this place doesn't close. It's the only place where I don't have to pay delivery fees with reasonable prices and good food. I spent so much money on these apps like grubhub because of the extra delivery fees.
amazing experience at this diner! we had server Juan and he was attentive and patient with my 8-person group. would definitely recommend for quiet evenings.
I visited BelAire Diner two times now and both times the food was excellent. Upon arrival I received complimentary muffins, orange juice and coffee. Both times I was taken care of by Martin and he was accommodating and exceptional. I’ll be coming back every chance I get. Thank you!
I am impressed with the service and the quality of the food that the shop provided here. Not to mention the portion size is generous!! My American friend recommended this American diner and we both enjoyed our brunch together. I had a great experience and would highly recommend it if you ever around Broadway in Queens (NY) You will love this place like I do. Our server's name is Fausto Martin G. Thanks for your excellent service!! We will be coming back!!!
Martin was amazing. He came out singing happy birthday with the staff for my husband's birthday and a slice of cake. We love the kids menu. It was right amount and kids finished everything.
This place is always so welcoming. It feels like a second home. The owner is fabulous and very giving and caring toward her community. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for an authentic diner feel.
What a place! I’d done a bit of research on this place and always wanted to go so in our last day on our trip to NYC we did. What a quaint setting and you go back in time as you walk through the doors! It has a great history too. The staff were great and the service was excellent. Originally, we only went there for coffee but when we keep seeing all the amazing food coming out, we asked for a food menu. There was so much to choose from and the food lived up to are expectations. Prices were also good too, a noticeable difference from Manhattan. We would recommend taking a small trip out to this place and it’s only 25 mins away by subway inc walking. It was worth the trip for us and finished off a perfect trip to NYC!
The food and service were top-notch, thank you Idania for the best service I've received tonight!!! They have a good country skillet :))
We have allergies and We list them. Belaire always calls to double check if they have a question. They are so great !
Idania our server was soooooo sweet. She was so patient with the three of us and we were ordering many different things. Would recommend to anyone.
The food was superb. Our server ,Ariel served our large party with such a spirit of excellence with joy. We travelled to different places and what we experienced was rare. The owner was so very kind and helpful even those that help with the drinks and picking up the dishes. I believed the red carpet was rolled out for us. It was recommended by Community Church of Astoria to try Bel Aire Diner. We had 18 people in our party. We travelled from Maryland,Virginia, and Georgia. We will definitely return and share with our friends and family . Thank you for superior service . outstanding food, and great environment.
Our waiter one was very attentive to our needs. Kept the coffee flowing as well as the orange juice and the food was delicious
Best experiences ever. Highly recommended. I have been there a couple of times during my last visit to New York. Menu gives you a wide choice no matter whether you are having breakfast, lunch just some snacks or a proper dinner. Service is usually very fast and waiters take good care of you refills are always done in time, food quality is always checked by them so you do not need to worry about anything you can be sure you are in good hands. Coffee is good. Internet states they operate non-stop but in reality they close around 2 am. Opens very early. Besides traditional American food they do also Italian and a little Mexican too. Prices are good especially comparing to the food quantity and quality they serve. If you are hungry and want to spend some time in a traditional American diner with quality food good service and where you can be sure you leave with a big smile on your face this is your place to go.
Just like an American Diner should be. The perfect experience. Huge selection of food, great service and cozy atmosphere.
We had a great time here. Toro our waiter was amazingly friendly and we will come back!
I cannot sing this diner's praises enough! Since moving to the area, we come at least once a month, and it's a must visit place for any guests that visit. A huge menu filled with great food and endless specials for brunch and beyond! I love the weekday bottomless brunch pancake tacos, so please try them if you are around on a weekday!!
Bel Aire Diner in Astoria, Queens is amazing! Martin was attentive and polite, and Victor was just as great. Toro was wonderful as well. We traveled all the way from the Bronx to come to this diner, and it was absolutely worth it. The food is delicious with generous portions, and the mimosas taste fantastic. Highly recommend!
This place was on point from start to finish. carlos was our waiter and he was WONDERFUL. Super sweet and attentive without being overbearing. I highly recommend this place, and Carlos deserves a raise!
I had visit this dinner before and did not like it, however after watching gordon go in there on kitchen nightmares i decided to go see the change. Love the new menu, i tried those tacos pancakes were amazing, fish and chips were fresh and delicious, the calamari was beyond great and the servers and the owners were so nice to us! Glad to see they are doing well deff recommend it 💕
Yesterday, I visited the diner to grab a piece of cake as I am a cake lover. The waiter, (I believe he said his name is ToTo), provided excellent service during my visit. I ordered a slice of the seven-layer cake to take out and it was absolutely delicious! I want to express my gratitude to ToTo and Tiffany, who handled the checkout, for their friendly and professional assistance. You will definitely enjoy your experience here!
Service was fast, staff weren’t unreasonably friendly, food was delicious, and the place was clean. I will say this: biggest pancakes! They’re absolutely huge. The picture included doesn’t do the size of the pancakes justice. Being a native Midwesterner, I value the diner experience, and expect to get a lot for a small price. Coming to this restaurant, I saw the prices were quite a bit higher than what I know from back home. But it’s reasonable given that it’s New York and that the portions are ridiculously big. And even better, the food was delicious. We ordered it, and within 10 minutes, it was out. The only downfall was that we never received refills, even though our drinks were running low towards the end of our stay.
The food here was delicious. The portions are large and the atmosphere is relaxed with some good oldies music was playing to set the mood. The service was fantastic. Martin was attentive and responsive.
A wonderful neighborhood, family-owned diner, that’s been around for several decades in Astoria. Great lunch specials during the week that won’t leave you hungry (read: a big bowl of soup with lunch menu items). My server, Heidi, was efficient, personable, friendly, and accommodating. I’ll definitely return for future meals!
I’ve been going to the diner since I was a kid and the food and service has always been outstanding. I used them for catering for my birthday party last night and the food was spectacular and they were on time. I had people telling me all night how great the food was. Will definitely use them for my events in the future and 💯 endorse their catering services as well. Bel Aire team - thank you for helping make my event a success!
Came in for a quick morning bite of steak and eggs, Martin took such awesome care of us while we were there. We've been coming around for a while, and every time we leave, we want to go right back! Thanks for all the good eats and vibes. Update: 11/10:25: Martin once again coming in clutch! Great service!
Katerina served us when we had our breakfast here. She’s very great! Would love to come back another time.
The food was incredible, the vibes are great, and our server Ilias was fantastic. Just a short walk from the Noguchi museum, this is a staple of the Astoria circuit.
Last Month hired Belaire to cater my Daugther’s 1st Birthday party. Got so many great compliments from our family and friends. All my favorites in huge trays. I was in heaven , the Penne a la Vodka was on point. My only disappointment was there wasn’t a lot of food left over to save for the week. Everyone took a plate home with them.
Bel Aire Diner in Astoria has been a neighborhood staple since 1965. Known for its retro-style ambiance, it offers an extensive menu featuring over 500 dishes - catering to a wide range of tastes (and budgets). Whether you’re craving breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Bel Aire serves all meals throughout the day. Their burgers are my absolute favorite!
I have been twice and both times I was served by Martin and he gives exemplary service. The food is great aswell. I will be back
This time I didn't come late night but early morning for actual breakfast time. They have parking outside and it is huge cause they are located at a little outdoor mall thing. As soon as we came in the waiter brought some muffins with butter and jam. Nice touch. They also have an yelp discount when checking in so keep that in mind when you come here and make sure to check in. The breakfast menu is a lot smaller than the regular night time menu, I am very thankful for that cause the night time menu can be very overwhelming I must say. I got some coffe, it is not the best I ever had but it was good enough. The decor and music here are very vintage and diner like, there is not much deviation from the dinner culture. They have plenty sitting, booths and counter sitting as well. TWO EGG SANDWICHES- my choice was to have it challah bread and added cheese. best choice in life!!! amazed with the flavor and tis texture of the entire plate. amazed. this is home to me I will always come back to Belair.
Great diner! Huge menu with lots of food and beverage options for all tastes. Very generous portions. The place is open 24 hours which is why I think it was very busy on Saturday night :) I asked for french toast with Nutella, strawberries and bananas. Didn't get Nutella for some reason but it wasn't a big deal. The service was average but understandable for 10pm on Saturday I guess.
Me and my niece just was there tonight and our waitress was horrible. She was not friendly we waited 15 mins for our pickles that I had to ask for and water. Our bill was 75 dollars we got 2 cheese burger meals. One with cheese fries. And a appetizer sample that was 25. We simple ordered onion rings Mac and cheese bites tenders and mozzarella sticks as the appetizer . I tell her ma'am we didn't order cheese fries with the appetizer we ordered Mac and cheese bites. She said sorry there's nothing I can do I misunderstood you . What kind of service is this? I would've paid for it extra but her whole attitude made me tell her to forget it. Constantly had to wait for our drinks. During our whole meal she check on us maybe twice if we haven't had called her. I understand people have bad days but she is representing your restaurant and its not a good look. She also had problems with another table I observed she is lucky I left her a 5.00 tip because that was too much . I been to bell air quite a few times and never received service like this and I always tip my waitresses well. I didn't say anything to the owner because I don't like to cause a scene or anything. But best believe this maria will never be our server again we was seated at table 12
Been in a few times for breakfast, and I've enjoyed it every time! The food is good quality, portion sizes are generous, and service is attentive without feeling rushed. They play music that fits the diner's theme, which was fun. It's very clean and spacious as well! I haven't explored the full menu, but I certainly plan to come back to try their non-breakfast options.
I was at this location with a group of people & we each had something different to try. The food is good & they serve you plenty. They have a large menu of items to choose from, so it would be easy for you to try something you like or different. Prices on the menu from what we noticed, went mostly from $15-$20. Food service was also good. The restroom area is clean. The parking here is also a plus, as you can park (no meters) in the lot next to the diner. This was our first time at this location & it made a good impression on us. We'll go back again. 😋👍
Breakfast at Bel Aire is my favorite thing to do Sunday mornings. The food is consistent and delicious, service is efficient and pleasant - classic NYC diner feels. Martin was a fantastic waiter!! (and he understood the assignment, helping me get the perfect shot of my food while pouring coffee).
Bel Aire diner is a true gem. The decor is amazing with it's authentic but very clean chrome diner appearance, vintage car decorative pieces, and seasonally painted windows. The staff is OUTSTANDING! They were extremely attentive and accommodating and helped us with everything we needed while we were shooting a short film on the premises. They paid attention and tried to limit noise from things like the milkshake machine and other customers when the cameras were rolling.
Stopped by Bel Aire Diner and loved the experience! The decor is classic and fun, with awesome retro touches; couple of the seats are even designed to look like the back end of a vintage car. Definitely adds to the charm. I ordered the corned beef hash with two sunny side up eggs and a side of bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Classic diner comfort food done right. The ambiance is casual and relaxing, perfect for a laid-back breakfast or brunch. Friendly service and a clean, well-kept space round it all out. Great spot if you’re in the mood for solid diner fare in a cool, nostalgic setting.
Oh god how I've missed this place! Best of all the few old diners left in NY that are still left, now that most have been closed down due to rising food costs and to make room for for new developers and more over priced Starbucks or paneras. Bel Aire is a family owned business, about 3-4 generations I believe, well known to locals as one of the best and always consistent diners in Astoria, open 24/7 with a very extensive menu for all types of eaters. They never disappoint. Staff and service is always the best and priced super affordable, what you would expect from a diner but better because the food is great and healthy! It's not your typical greasy burger joint. It's my girl and I goto spot for a great meal and great value and for date night. You get more than you bargain for and great place to hangout and enjoy with your pals too, especially after drink binging and partying all night and you're dying for something to eat! 😉 😉 😜 We just love this place. Reminds me of old 1950's style diners with the aluminum outside exterior siding and booths, but updated too with a bit of modernism to look more upscale too. It's clean with great atmosphere! Can't say enough about this place. All the new influx of gen z that have moved into the neighborhood will love this place once they catch wind of it. They're open all night and do deliver at all hours! Best gyros in NY by the way. 👌 👏
I love a classic NYC diner with retro vibes and Bel Aire certainly has that. It’s a bit of a hike from the subway but worth it for a great weekend brunch. The menu is huge and there’s something on it for everyone but I tend to stick mostly to breakfast classics at diners like this and their corned beef hash served with three eggs and topped with melted cheese hit the spot. Great service, great food and great atmosphere - I’ll be back
Solid diner. A little far from the subway unless you're a local or have a car. The entrance to the parking lot is a little funky unless you enter from 2 directions (north and west). I took a gamble and tried their brisket sandwich. It was about the same price as the burger I was going to order so why not? When it arrived I was skeptical. It was kinda grey and uniform in color. Visually it didn't look as appealing as a smoked brisket with darker singed edges from a BBQ joint. But more often then not smoked briskets come out dry and overcooked. One bite of this and I am hooked. This was perfectly moist and tender and a little fatty the way meat should be. The meat could be pulled apart but not rubbery. My friend said the western omelets and the Irish breakfast. They cleaned their plates. Would recommend 100%
Love love love !! I haven’t been in a diner in 17 years and I couldn’t have been happier with this experience all over again. The atmosphere was great with the seating booths and the staff was professional and very friendly. Of course I order my very favourite silver dollar pancakes that were very delicious. I’m so happy we had a chance to visit this restaurant on our trip.
If you're looking for a true classic diner experience with a modern twist, Bel Aire Diner in Queens is the spot! From the moment we walked in, we were hit with the warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. The retro booths, bright signage, and cozy aesthetic give that perfect throwback feel like stepping into a movie scene. The food? Absolutely fantastic. We tried a little bit of everything: disco fries, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders with their signature sauce, and the Chupacabra Burger, which was a flavor bomb in the best way possible. Their Candy Shop Belgian Waffle was the sweetest ending to our meal, and the Broadway Smoothie was a hit for my little one! But what really made this visit special was the staff. Our server, Adrian, deserves a huge shout-out! He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. It's rare to find service that feels this personal and genuine. Bonus points: Kids eat FREE! A huge perk for families! Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or a full meal, Bel Aire Diner is an absolute must in Queens. Amazing food, top-notch service, and a vibe that keeps you coming back. Can't wait to visit again!

Extensive menu with themed pages, like an Italian page, Greek page, texmex page, etc. The end of the menu was where the straightforward breakfasts were, and sandwiches, burgers etc were sprinkled throughout the other pages. Service was quick, we were seated right away. Prices were fair. Looking forward to returning!
I used to hate coming here because the food was always so bland and boring. Now it feels like a completely different restaurant. I did not expect to like it as much as I did but talk about an upgrade. Bravo! Come here for breakfast.
It looks like a diner and the food one would expect of a diner. The waiter was excellent! Exceptional service. The waiter knew the menu well and made suggestions so that we did not over order and were happy with our selections. Great place for an after hours meal—we showed up past midnight!
The Bel Aire diner is a typical diner with a huge selection of decent meals. I got Challah French toast with a side of bacon and it was pretty good. The price for my breakfast plus a cup of coffee was $20. The waitress was pleasant and the atmosphere was the same as any other diner I have been in. They brought over a plate of mini muffins to snack on as well which were enjoyable. There is a large parking lot in the back.
Amazing buttermilk pancakes, perfectly golden and fluffy. The jalapeño popper burger is perfect. I love a classic well-made burger with an actual burger bun! The shakes are nice and creamy. If you’re craving tasty food you need to check this place out. no pictures because we inhaled it immediately, sorry!
Only have bowls, not cups of soup. We both ordered soup and they were delicious. I had the brisket sandwich which didn't taste the way it sounded on the menu. My friend had the Cobb salad which she enjoyed.
Me and my husband came after watching Kitchen Nightmare; not surprised they got rid of their one page menu. Service was good, seated right away, the atmosphere is very comforting. Very good comfort food, delicious mozzarella sticks! They have improved a ton from what we saw on TV:
I love a good diner and couldn't wait to try. When I arrived Inparked in their lot. I walked in and was sat. Gabriella was my server and she was very nice. I started with the red sangria and it was cool. For food I got the shrimp and grits but it needed a little salt. I then got the veggie stir fry with chicken a dimly that was good. Lastly I had the Chocolate cookie coffee shake and that was good. All in all I had a good experience.
This is a really nice classic diner with an immense selection of food on the menu which can be a little intimidating. The menu spans from regular breakfast items eggs and home fries, to a standard lunch menu with sandwiches and burgers, all the way to fresh lobster (they have a live lobster tank by the entrance). There was only about a 10 minute wait on a Sunday morning for breakfast and the service was prompt and friendly. The food was also really good. The only downside was that the floors weren't very clean and the bathrooms were kinda gross to be honest. I'll still come back for breakfast on the weekends though. Just hope they pay more attention to regularly cleaning the bathrooms.
Been coming here and ordering for years and even more since Neptune closed. One of the last remaining diners. Food is pretty consistent. Burgers are good, service is good, owners are always nice and so is the atmosphere. 4 stars only because you can’t just order a burger without the deluxe. Same price online with or without fries. I was told that the cost of the fries is deducted at the end of the transaction but it’s not the case. Unless I’m missing something, this is should be fixed.
The portions were generous, and the menu offered a wide variety of options. We ordered the steak combo, bolognese, and kids’ meals. When each adult ordered a main dish, the kids’ meals were complimentary, so we received mac and cheese and meatball pasta at no extra charge. However, part of the lettuce in the salad was spoiled, which was disappointing. Overall, the value and menu selection were good, but better attention to freshness is needed.

An authentic, old school dinner. Great staff great food. Sitting inside this place transport one back in time to simpler days.
I got their Thanksgiving dinner from here to-go and it wasn't bad! The meal included turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes and corn. The turkey wasn't dry at all, the chicken gravy paired with it well, and the stuffing was flavorful. Got their homemade cookies as well as it was a great way to end the meal!
I use to love this spot. It’s on the corner of my high school and a block over from my Jhs, when the parents had the kitchen you could truly tell. I know Gordon came to help but that FLAVOR - just isn’t in the building
My wife always raves about this place so I decided to take her there and like they say never meet your hero u will get disappointed. The food was great but our server brought cold food our table the house salad looked sad I ate my food Luke warm it was great but why? Anyways I wasn’t going to leave a tip on my card for him and he was like what no tip? I gave him a tip but the nerve of him I swear!!!
202405 Menu is thick and so confusing… different combinations of salads and sandwiches and signature sandwiches from Texas to Mexico to Greece to Italy to Ireland (appreciate the existence of white black puddings). We took a long time to go through the menu. Very ambitious. Very American I guess… Open turkey is huge. Solid pile of turkey slices (looking at the Costco across the street). The gravy is decent, seasoned and not greasy. Goes well with the toast. I was expecting a different kind of bread, but I haven’t had white toast for years so it’s actually comfort food. I didn’t expect the plate to be so white lol. The cranberry jelly is odd. Garden salad is huge too. Good variety of veggies. Raw mushrooms are debatable. My friends’ burgers are big and looks nice, though a little lacking in seasoning. Waffle fries are good. Cherry pie is alright. The crust is a little hard with a strange shine. The filling isn’t too sweet. Its an entertaining meal :)
It’s a good spot I mean the food was actually great and all but the only problem I really had with my sister is that the service. The server completely forgot about us and it wasn’t even that busy and when we had to ask for water or anything the server looked annoyed at us. Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t a basic for servers to have ready waters for the costumers ? She didn’t even bother to check up on us at all and was busy talking to another server or just gone to who knows where . Once again the food was good just I would definitely not come here for the service
Food was average for a typical New York Diner. I had the pastisio (παστίτσιο) and traditional Greek Lemon soup (not like Yiayia’s) my husband had a basic grilled sandwich. It was clearly the last piece of pastitsio and was a bit dry around the edges but clearly in its heyday it would have been tasty and creamy with a béchamel with a hint of nutmeg and the ground beef seasoned perfectly. We will try it again one day soon.
typical looking NE US diner with an extensive menu with items ranging from Greek, Italian, Latin, and American. Open 21 hours a day serving all three meals anytime. Full bar. Two huge dessert cases. Very slow during our dinner hour visit. Maybe three other tables. Picture your stereotypical diner interior and you would be right on. Not in a bad way by any means. Very clean and furnishings in great condition. Small language difficulties with our waiter as his accent was strong to us. But it was not a major impediment. After meandering through the multi-page menu, we both chose our meals. DW chose to start with a cp of soup, the type of which she had never tried before, Avgelemono (Greek Lemon Chicken Soup). With an entrée choice of her fave, Spaghetti Bolognese. I went full on diner dinner, fresh Garden Salad with ranch and Meatloaf dinner with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. The salad was as expected except for the excessive amount of Broccoli. The soup was a big winner, rich with a subtle lemon flavor. Clearly made with love and much time to simmer and meld. Very tasty. Our entrees were served and OMG the size of the portions was large in the extreme. A bowl of pasta like a hubcap full of delicious looking beef and sauce. Unfortunately, it was quite bland, displaying no real Italian flavor. Just beef and tomato. The plate of meatloaf I received had three large slices of brown loaf with thin brown gravy. Alongside a dish of mashed potatoes under more thin gravy. The slices of meat looked to have been placed on a flat top in an attempt to bring them up to eating temperature-as evidenced by the caramelization along the edges. The meat was barely above warm, the gravy had a nice flavor, and was not overly salty like some. Same temp issue with the potatoes. Meal was nothing special, except in size. Based on our one experience, I can’t recommend Bell Aire Diner.
The woman owner just took away one of my menus without asking while I wasn’t looking and gave it to another party. She also wasn’t doing anything to help her employees other than make them seem nervous. Food had no flavor, so not worth $18-25 pp. Waiter was very kind, but not experienced. Had to order utensils after we got the food. 2 stars only for the festive decorations.
Ordered the THANKSGIVING Oven Roasted Turkey DINNER and basically receive DELI COLD CUTS TURKEY drenched in sauce and stuffing. They put 3 bite size pieces of actual roasted turkey on top as garnish? I don’t know what they were trying to do. Turkey slices and few pieces of fries for $24, What a joke. Felt Scammed and Ripped off on thanksgiving day. Pretty much ruined my thanksgiving night.
I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe for delivery. After waiting an hr and still no food I call to find out what’s the status. They put me on hold twice trying to figure out where my order is. I don’t know what happened but after and hr and a half the delivery guy shows up. I touch the burger and fries and it’s literally cold and hard to the touch! I gave it right back. I was not going to pay $24 for a cold burger and fries. Unbelievable, now I had to step out and go get food and it’s close to 9pm! Waste of my time. Bel air you must do better that was unacceptable especially when I live 7 mins from the diner!
Saturday evening 11/29.went to order Food to go. A Young girl @The Takeout counter. I asked her about the turkey special dinners. Where was it on the menu? She said I don't know the menu. I just take orders. She didn't try to help me find it or ask somebody about the turkey Dinners. Feeds 2 people. I've been going to this Diner for 30 years. It's always been pleasant. The food is good, but this young lady needs to know how to help the customers and not be so Uncaring acting, childlike, silly Towards customers. when I called and asked for the manager. A woman Spoke to me, when I started telling her about the counter girl. @ The end of my conversation. I believe, she hung up on me. whatever happened to this professional run Diner.
If you’re looking for a quick way to experience inflation on a personal level, I highly recommend Bel Air Diner. Nothing says “classic diner breakfast” like a $22 omelette. At that price I assume the eggs are cage free, stress free, college educated, and personally signed by the chicken. Breakfast for three came out to a very reasonable $105, which is impressive considering we didn’t order lobster, champagne, or a small piece of real estate. For a diner, that’s quite an achievement. I’ve been coming here for years and always liked the place, which makes this even more disappointing. I understand prices go up, but this feels less like breakfast and more like a financial decision. I will definitely let everyone know about this. Sadly I won’t be back but my compliments to Achilea, who remains the best part of the experience.
