Best Restaurant in this Neighborhood. Anybody want to try Desi teast then go there.
Very nice place with great food and even nicer people who works there. They really take care of you. I recently had an iftar event over there and they made sure everything was perfect. A big thanks to them
Had a great experience coming in from DC and returning back to meet the owner Mr. Parvez and his great hospitality. The pulao and kala gosh is definitely to keep coming back for ( which we did all the way from DC) rui fish is good as is the tea and singhara. Loved the chicken roast gravy!! Thanks and see you soon again ! Nadia
I have been to many Bengali restaurants and this is probably the best I have ever experienced in my life. This is the best Bengali New York City restaurant that I recommend everyone should go and visit. The people are amazing and they don't gatekeep any amount of food. They give you a lot of food and it's for a very affordable price. So if anybody is looking into going to see and check out and try out different kinds of food, this is the place.
Great taste, quality, and value! The beef and chicken biryani are amazing!
All the foods are 🇧🇩 Bangladeshi Not 🇮🇳 Indian. Not “INDO- “ . Not 🇵🇰 PAKISTANI THESE FOOD ARE BIG PART OF OUR 🇧🇩 CULTURE
Service quality decides if I return. The rest of the food was excellent, with spices I typically avoid. The employees handle tasks quickly and respectfully. It was an incredible experience!! I passed along praise for this restaurant.
They have best bengali kebabs in town. Not copy-paste like others. Very unique and delicious.
Amazing and delicious food!!! I’m really sad I got super full and couldn’t eat everything… All the employees are lovely and the owner and her son are so sweet as well. The restaurant is beautiful inside!! I’m excited to come back and try more dishes!!!! ❤️
The best thing about this place is the food then the staff. The food tastes like authentic Bangladeshi food and is fairly priced! Just MAKE SURE you call or go in person to order because they do run out of some dishes (since they make the food ahead of time) I ordered online and they called me immediately to let me know they didn’t have a dish but accommodated me with another dish which was delicious. Seating area is good and the restaurant looked pretty clean.
The owner and waiters treated us very well! Food is amazing, full of flavor, quick to the table and GOOD PRICE. Rather than a menu, you can see on display. Place is clean and they check on you often. Owner (Parvez) is very hospitable, caring, and friendly. Kind of better than Jackson heights :O HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
One of the best food places I've been to in New York;super legit. Staff is so incredibly kind and friendly! Would come back again 10/10, highly recommend. It's a no frills joints: fantastic, well-seasoned food!! We had beef, chicken, lentil, rice, samosas, and chai. :) A lot of food for both us, very big portions, probably could have been satisfied with less haha but everything was so delicious
We ordered catering from Boishakhi for a wedding event in Boston and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The food was absolutely delicious - all of our guests were impressed and kept complimenting the quality. You could tell everything was made fresh that day, and the taste was outstanding. From the start, they were extremely professional in helping us plan the menu and coordinating the delivery for the event date. Everything went smoothly and on time. The pricing, including the delivery charge, was very reasonable - especially compared to other Boston and NYC caterers we’ve tried in the past. Honestly, the quality and flavor here were far better, and the value was unbeatable. We had ordered for 120 people, but they generously provided enough food for well over 150 guests, which really showed their care and commitment. The portions were plentiful, the presentation was excellent, and the overall service was top-notch. Will highly recommended for any big event!
Friendly Bengali place with inexpensive, delicious, well-spiced, freshly-prepared food. You pick out what you want up front and they either pack it up for takeout or bring it to your seat. I had a giant Tandoori chicken leg-quarter and crispy samosa - both delicious - and they threw in a side salad with halal cart white sauce dressing. The whole thing came to $7 and change!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Boishaki Restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional culinary experience. Located in Astoria, Boishaki offers a unique and authentic taste of Bangladeshi cuisine, and it exceeded all my expectations. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting ambiance. The tasteful décor, featuring traditional elements and vibrant colors, created a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The staff at Boishaki were incredibly friendly, attentive, and eager to make my dining experience memorable.
I took a catering service from here. Everything tasted amazingly good and authentic Bangladeshi. Parvez from Boishakhi took care of our order. Food quality and quantity were superior. I ordered Polao, Chicken Roast, Goat Rezala, Chinese Vegetables, Shami Kabab (can’t stop eating), Fried Shrimp (giant size), Vegetable Pakora (out of this world), Wonton, Borhani and Payesh (they added Zafran for the extra touch). Food was transported from New York to New Jersey without any leakage. Love his attention to detail and professionalism. Even though it was for a birthday lunch but our place turned into a little Biye Bari with all the aromatics! Thank you. I’ll order again.
I found this place surprisingly impressive. The taste pleases consistently, staff works efficiently, and food quality shows. The staff executed service perfectly. Each element here contributes to success. The restaurant provides perfect satisfaction.
If you want authentic, tasty, Bangladeshi food. This is your spot. There are soooo many options. TRUST ME, this is the best Bangladeshi food!! Definitely ask about their special biryani that they only serve on Fridays and saturdays. It’s amazing. Also, their chicken roast is their best item on the menu. The noodles taste exactly like they would back home, and the kabobs were juicy and flavorful. The service was great too! The workers frequently checked on us and made sure we were good and satisfied. Also, lots of seating available downstairs! Great spot to bring your Desi family :)
It was my first time eating Bangladeshi cuisine and I was blown away with the freshness and quality of the food. It’s not spicy, rather very flavorful and something that all should enjoy and try. The bhorta was worth having to accompany my proteins. I plan on bringing more friends here in the future.
Stumbled into this restaurant, with the friendly staff and customers, i feels like being inside a a family's home. They were helpful and courteous to us firstimers. We got the yellow rice, a fish curry, and curried beef. When you see locals hanging around a restaurant, you know it is great.
I like fresh and really Tasty Bengali food. I've eaten Bangladeshi before and especially in Jackson Heights. I like this caffetteria style display of food. I could tell what is fresh and what I dont want to try. I tried several dishes with my family. The goat Briyani, curry fish,Chicken Masala,Naan,Chicken Biryani,Chicken Seekh Kebab,Lentil soup, Kofta, Chicken and Vegetable Somosa.. Everything was really tasty. The portion are very fair for the price. Only one side dish had a small complaint cause it was too spicy. It was like a chilled Potatoe salad which was alittle spicy. Personally, I liked the potatoe salad. I liked everything cooked here. Its good authentic home made type of food , friendly staff and clean settings. The price is extremely fair.
One of the best Bangladeshi original cuisine in Newyork city. Food taste have fresh & originality. Employee so professional trained up, management great. Specially crowd management great during busy time like launch & dinner time. Lots of varieties food available. Special Bangladeshi tea & biriyani with great taste available. They have party hall & also they provide outdoor catering service with their own transportation. I recommended.
This place balances quality and value better than most. The serving amount is liberal and the salad tasted vibrant. This place stands apart through original design. Employees here are pleasant and accommodating, with quickly served food. Every meal I've had here has been enjoyable.
Boishakhi Restaurant, nestled in the vibrant heart of Astoria, is a culinary haven that captures the essence of Bangladesh’s rich gastronomic culture. As you step into this humble abode, the aroma of spices and herbs greets you, transporting you to the bustling streets of Dhaka. The chefs, artisans of flavor, meticulously blend traditional recipes with a touch of modernity, creating dishes that sing with the soul of Bangladesh. Each bite is a celebration of the land’s verdant fields and bountiful harvests, a testament to the love and care poured into the cuisine. Here, food is not just sustenance; it is a story of heritage, a melody of tastes that resonates with the warmth of Bangladeshi hospitality. Boishakhi Restaurant is more than a place to eat; it’s a place where every meal is a festivity, every dish a tribute to the timeless traditions of Bangladesh.🍲✨🐟
I tried a lot of chicken kabab and only Boishakhi makes it the best! I also love their chicken biryani, chick peas, chicken masala, and vegetable samosas. I highly recommend this restaurant to eat. Staff are very friendly. I order chicken kabab usually 20 to 40 pcs each time I travel around Long Island City.
Boishakhi Restaurant in Astoria offers a delightful experience with its authentic Bangladeshi flavors and fully halal menu. The food is incredibly tasty, capturing the true essence of Bangladeshi cuisine. My initial order of fried rice, noodles, tandoori chicken, and lollipop chicken was so good that I couldn’t resist ordering more—beef Bihari kabab and large tandoori chicken from the display. For takeout, I chose polao, rezala, bharta, and doi, and each dish was perfectly prepared. A must-try is their cha, which is rich and flavorful. The service at Boishakhi is exceptional, with staff being quick, polite, and attentive. The upstairs dining area is cozy, providing an intimate atmosphere, while the downstairs space is more open and accommodating for larger groups. Regardless of where you sit, the ambiance is warm and welcoming, making it an excellent spot for both casual dining and family gatherings. Hygiene and cleanliness are well-maintained, including their bathrooms, which are spotless and convenient. Boishakhi Restaurant has become one of our favorites for its consistently delicious food and excellent service. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Bangladeshi cuisine in Astoria.
This is my family's favorite Bengali restaurant! Whether it's simple takeout or catering orders, they always do a fantastic job. Their prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food is outstanding. I know there are other Bengali restaurants in Queens like in Jackson Heights or Jamaica, but trust me this spot is the best out of all of them. Can't recommend them enough for all that they do to maintain quality and service!!
Best place in Queens for Bangladeshi food! They have authentic Bangladeshi dishes and their service is amazing and fast. Many options for food and overall great atmosphere. Perfect place to get authentic Bangladeshi food and dining.
Got the opportunity to try their roti with omelet and stewed vegetables (my apology for not really knowing the dishes name Orz) and oh my I can't be more satisfied with this breakfast. It reminded me ao much of my favorite Taiwanese breakfast 蔥油蛋餅 and was exactly what I needed. Besides, the restaurant is very clean (both 1st floor and basement), the food is super fresh and flavorful (you can really be rejuvenated from a proper meal) and I love the owner Ms. Rimi who is like a sweet motherly figure to everyone coming to her restaurant. Definitely recommend and definitely bringing friends here next time I get the chance!!!
Everything here was good. Not much to be said to be honest. If you look at who's eating here, it is all ethnic people, and a ton of older people as well. That should tell you that this place is definitely authentic. I enjoyed every single dish that I had here; I was recommended to eat at this place by a Bangladeshi friend. I was not disappointed. My favorite dishes were the samosas and the chicken lollipops. The chicken lollipops were an Indo-Chinese sort of dish with a savory sauce a crunchy exterior. The samosas were perfectly seasoned and slightly crispy. Tandoori chicken was also excellent and well-seasoned throughout the outside and interior. The only fault I could really find was that the biriyanis did not have too strong of a flavor profile, but that is to be expected since it is more so a vessel to eat with the other dishes, which were all amazing. Atmosphere could technically improve but I could care less if they have excellent food. I really have no complaints about this place. Upstairs was packed but we were able to eat downstairs and enjoy our large meal. I will definitely remember this spot.
Boishakhi Restaurant Bengali Flavors in the Heart of Astoria I stopped by Boishakhi Restaurant in Astoria, and it absolutely hit the mark. Everything we ordered was packed with bold flavor and felt like true Bengali comfort food. I started with the Chicken Bihari, and wow it was tender, full of flavor, and far from your average chicken dish. It had a smoky, well-balanced spice that made it anything but boring. Then came the Beef Tehari, and it was incredible. The rice was rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying my taste buds, genuinely happy. The tamarind sauce on the side added the perfect tangy contrast. I also tried a samosa, and I immediately wished I had ordered more. It was perfectly flaky with a light crunch, and the filling was flavorful with just a little kick. One was not enough! Parking in the area can be a bit of a challenge, but it’s worth it Astoria is full of amazing food spots, and Boishakhi is definitely one of them. We spent about $30 total, which was more than enough for two people (even three could share). That’s the beauty of NY so many places like this keeping it real, authentic, and full of heart. If you’re anywhere near Astoria and craving something flavorful and satisfying, make sure Boishakhi is on your list.

Nice Bangladeshi restaurant. Really enjoy the quality of food and variety. There isn't much option for bengali food on food delivery app. That's definitely a bonus with Bioshakhi!
Amazing bengali food. Great service, Authentic food, tasty and clean. Must visit if you're in the New York/New Jersey area!

Some really good traditional bengali options. If you visit during Ramadan, they offer a variety of Iftar food. If you wanna grab lunch around that time, you’ll have to order and head into the basement. Try their beef curry, porota and aloo bhaji, makes for a classic Bangladeshi breakfast. Staff are friendly, service is quick, and restrooms are clean.
Ordered delivery through GrubHub. The beef bihari kabab was absolutely top notch! I mean look at those burn marks! Outstanding! The chicken behari and some special kabab I'm not sure what its called was tasty as well. The shukti bhorta was excellent. The quality of all the items felt fresh and prepared authentically. Would eat here again.
I wanted a meal that I hold close to my heart, some steaming hot rice, and a decent curry. There were many colorful options on display, we ordered goat biryani, mutton curry, and a hilsa thaali. The thaali came with a comforting bowl of lentils, and some mashed potatoes. The tasty gravy couldn’t mask the fact that the fish wasn’t fresh. The mutton curry was perfect! The servers were very friendly and cheerful.
Excellent customer service and good clean restaurant. We ordered a variety of food, which was just ok. But the liver shingara and tea were exceptional. Beef tehari could've been a little better. Roast pulao was good. But the sweets were not up to par. Very impressed with the owners as their customer service was what made our experience great. This is a very busy restaurant with lots of takeout orders that we noticed. This tells me the food made here is always fresh. Highly recommend to try this Bangladeshi restaurant.
Met my Bangladeshi friend for lunch. First time so I asked for recommendations and landed on the fish curry with rice and lentil soup. So good. Warned about the many bones but I didn’t mind. The curry was so flavorful, not too strong but warm and comforting. All the dishes I had tasted like hand made from mothers. You order at the counter and then sit down. They bring you the food and then you pay after you’re done. All very casual. We lingered and had tea. It was a lovely lunch.
Hidden gem! Every item I've tried was tasty. Service team members are kind and provide help. This place sits right where you need it. This is from my own perspective.

Had an okay experience. Decided to check out the place after reading all the great comments. I had men screaming and laughing really loud next to me that I had to move while I was eating. One of our waiter tried to help by asking them to keep it a little low and the guy picked on him, unfortunately. One of those bengali retarded customers who think they are above waiters just because they are working there. Anyways, food was okay but not the best. I think it lacked flavor and dal was TOO watery. We had rui mach, shrimp shutki bhortha, alu bhortha, dal, alu bhaji, shingara, chicken roll, naan and ofcourse rice. It's not the worst food though. I'll go back again and try something else and will change my rating afterwards if it's necessary to do so.
Boishakhi should be a bit more organized for large order and train staff accordingly. It's difficult to cross check items one by one on the spot once it's packed. Today I trusted staff packed all items, only to find out few items missing (but being charged) after reaching home. The restaurant was not even crowded at the time of order. So it's just lack of dilligence from staff. It's frustrating!!!!
The food is overpriced and doesn't even taste that good specially their iftaar items. On top of that they will charge you a BIG fee if you pay with your card which they'll not let you know from before hand.
The food is your average Bengali food, nothing special. Taste is good. However, the problem lies in the organizational structure of the business. Customers need to ask a lot of questions because the dishes are not labeled. 50% of the Employees cannot understand english very well. Customers need to repeat the order once, twice to three times. A few Bengali customers are also rude. They try to skip the line to order their "tea" & sometimes they shout their order from the middle of the line. Most of the people are Nice but the establishment is poorly organized, that is all. :-)
We took a long drive from NJ to try out some native Bengali food at this restaurant, specially since they made Kacchi (goat) biryani on Saturday. Upon arrival, the first impression is really great, as there are sooo many dishes on display, easily more than 50 items, in different colors and textures. I was pretty mesmerized to see the whole range of items. We ordered a variety of items, chicken lollipop, chicken roast, beef resala, kacchi biryani, chicken biryani, halim and kababs. After the order they heat up the items and bring them to the table. Sadly I wasn’t impressed with any of the items. Seemed to me the authentic taste wasn’t there, items were made to tone down the spice and flavor of the dishes. Kacchi was also a lot spicy than we expected. All the meat, specially the beef, was mostly dry and hard to chew. But I Iiked the rice in biryanis. Halim was very chunky, I was expecting ingredients to be well mixed and a smoother curry. The first floor tables are decent but the tables and booth in the basement are not in their best shape. The basement area needs some patch up and cleaning to make it more appealing to guests.
Food was authentic, but the recipes could be better. I expected more flavorful aromas, but the food here is kept simpler, but still tasty enough. The service and atmosphere is not particularly tasteful, but could use a redecoration and hospitality training. Overall a solid choice for Bangladeshi cuisine, but not worth an hour subway ride.
Not clean. No Aesthetic senses \nUnappetizing unappealing. Went with high hopes.. server was scratching his body and putting food on the plate

The food was tasty but me and my 3 friends all got food poisoning 8 hours later. It ruined our evening that was supposed to be a fun night out. Would not recommend.
This has to be the worst bengali restaurant I ever been to. I don’t know what the hype is but food is trash.
This restaurant used to be one of my most favorite restaurant. Sorry to say that recently their food quality went down. May be the owner is not cooking anymore. She used to cook food for the guest, it was so yummy
Today my daughter and I had lunch at this restaurant. It was our first time there. We ordered one plate of food which we shared. When it came time to pay we were charged $45! For one simple plate of food! I tried to find out from the guy at the register why one plate of food could cost so much but I don’t think he understood English. We paid and walked out. We realized later on that we were likely charged for 2 plates. We didn’t take the receipt with us otherwise I would have gone back. I am very disappointed at this restaurant and won’t be going back.
Doesn't matter how good the food or restaurant is if the service is trash. The servers here are so rude, IF you are female. I'd let it go if it were only on one occasion but this has happened multiple times and not just with me. And it ONLY happens with all the females in my family. NEVER with my husband, brothers, father or sons.
Tried their beef kebab, shrimp kebab and singara‼️ Kebabs were totally uncooked in and around the centers and the singara was also👎
If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is so chaotic, even tho they are fully staffed. The layout is horrendous as well. The food is flavorless and the portions are so small. They overcharged us and when confronted, they only took $2 off the bill instead of $7. Will never come back and i don't recommend anyone trying this if you wanna try Bangladeshi food
The people were terrible, charged me and my brother for way more than what was actually the costs on the menu. $41.50 for a meal that would have been $20-$26 max. They were speaking in their native language (which we speak very fluently) saying things like, 'Look at these rich kids', and 'Probably have their daddy's money'. These immature people don't know service because when we pointed out the lack of quality and the prices on the menu, the way their food made me nauseous and the fact that the food was COLD and barely edible and they started treating us like we would dine and dash. They started trying to force us to pay?? The woman that was rude and it really makes you think "it's no wonder people don't like our kind". Genuinely, they treated us like we were less than human despite being our own race. They stared at us while we ate, and it was just uncomfortable. I recommend Aladdin instead, the people there are kind, they're sweet and they refer to you as family. When I go to Aladdin the food is fresh made and WARM. Coming here made me realize that being loyal regulars to a restaurant is so valid because of what happened here.
My husband and I came here and they overcharged us. We got shrimp fried rice and they put bad, old, over cooked cuts of chicken in it. The price on the menu for the shrimp fried rice was $10 and they charged us $20, it was also cold. We got just $50 worth of food total and they charged us over $75. I do not recommend this place.
