Walked in for an order of Ripple Fries and the server Naz gave me a wait time. While I was waiting, I noticed how intentional, caring, and nice Naz was being to several customers that walked in and with his team members. After a few minutes my fries were fresh and ready! Naz was attentive to all customers and made walking into SweetGreens for fries an exceptional experience. Will be going back again for more Ripple Fries!
I love when I walk into a place and I am greeted with a hello and smiles! Everyone was super helpful in helping me figure out what kind of salad I wanted I ended up getting the crispy rice bowl but subbed the cabbage for kale! It is a nice location - get your salad before or after a movie at Alamo!
With all the conferences occurring at the hotels in Austin, Sweetgreen is great as a healthy alternative to the amazing BBQ in Austin. The service is quick and the value is amazing. It was $0.50 more to add on extra veggies per item. The salad was delicious and the ingredients are fresh. Highly recommend. They also have plenty of seating outdoors.
Guccipotle The $18 Harvest Bowl was tasty and healthy. It came with many veggies and the portion was a good size. Great service. The only thing I didn't like was the container. I was given a to-go container even though I was going to dine in and it made eating out of it more complicated.
Staff was friendly and helpful. There are some great healthy options. My shrimp salad was tasty and filling. It would be great to pick up and have in your refrigerator for later.
Aracely was a great server who was quick, kind, and diligent. She truly made my bowl as if she was the one that was going to be enjoying it - not a lot of servers do that! Also, Aracely, came to serve me when she noticed that I had been waiting for a couple minutes on the primary server - really great guest awareness!
AJ took our order and made our food. He was so polite and everything tasted great. Exceptional customer service from him.
The Kale Ceasar is the best salad I've ever had. Great service and nice area of town.
Ordered thru the app. Easy to do, including making changes to a standard offering. Paid with Google Wallet. Order was ready and waiting at the promised time.
My all time favorite spot for lunch or a quick healthy dinner. Plus Ruby is always so sweet!
Great brunch menu! We had the biscuits and gravy and chilaquiles. The menu options, service and food are much better than many other brunch places that always have crazy lines out the door. There was no wait when we walked in and we were seated right away. They have a nice patio area outside with heaters and the inside is beautifully decorated. They also had a good kid’s menu/coloring page. The location is an easy walk from the parking garage and Thinkery. Our server was great and the manager was actively checking on tables. It is rare to find a restaurant that gets it all right, 10/10.
So good! Flavorful food and great environment. The biscuits set it off with its flakiness, buttery taste, and soft insides, ridiculous. Cornbread was another addition to our meal…just awesome. We had the fried chicken and waffle. The chicken was on the bland side but the hot sauce kicked it up in taste. Waffle was standard however the butter pecan syrup that comes with it is the “piece de resistance” of the dish, yummy. The yardbird sandwich with homemade chips was amazing. We will definitely be back!
If I could give this a place a 10 star rating I would. We enjoyed every bite of their chicken and redfish dishes. The dates, the biscuits, the key lime pie and banana pudding were fantastic. We were greeted at the door with a big warm country smile and welcome. Our waiter recommended our dishes because we had 3 plates that we desperately wanted to try. So.....good.
colleen’s brunch is NEXT level! we stop by frequently for the steak & eggs, waffle, biscuits and gravy & the full southern breakfast! flavors are incredible, the steak is always tender and juicy, biscuit and waffle each are southern scratch made kitchen perfection! you really can’t go wrong and the vibes and service are so warm & inviting. 10/10 every time!
Had a great first time visit to Colleen's. Easy to make a lunch resy and I was 30 minutes earlier than my group and staff allowed me to be seated. Emma was an excellent serve. Sweet and prompt. Deviled eggs and crab cakes were excellent. Food was delivered well and overall stellar dining experience.
Stopped in on a trip through town and im so glad I did. Believe it or not it was chatgpt that suggested it so I had an idea of the type of food and atmosphere weeks before we left on the trip. Hubby had the chicken and waffles. Oh that sauce was insanely tasty. I had the grillades and grits. I've never had short ribs with grits before but a bite with everything in it was pure heaven. Service was great. 10/10 recommend and will come back again if we are in the area.
Colleen’s Restaurant is an absolute gem! The crab salad was unbelievably fresh and packed with flavor definitely a must-try. What made the experience even better was the beautiful area it’s located in. The weather was perfect, and sitting outside with a light breeze and great food made for the perfect afternoon. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and quality dishes we’ll definitely be coming back!
Quick trip to Austin so my better half, bonus daughter and her friend can catch a concert. What must eager concert do prior to the festivities? Eat. Duh. Are we going to stop at some dump? Absolutely not, I love food, especially the yummy kind. So after a little back and forth over choices to chow down we settled on this establishment. Vibe, on point a nice cozy setting to rest a weary soul. Waitstaff, accommodating (I do wish they suggested additional bread for the seafood fondue but ohh well. Appetizer, delectable. Main courses delicious. Eat here I highly recommend it. Just for reference we ate the seafood fondue, the pork, the fish, the short ribs, and the hamburger just get all of them. I don't think you can go wrong with the flavors or the menu. PS sorry for the crappy pictures
I LOVE Southern food, and Colleen's Kitchen ticks all the boxes. The service was friendly. Yes, shrimp and grits! Oysters were on time. I will definitely be back to try the biscuits. They looked fluffy and buttery, and I need some of that in my life right now!!! Update: The biscuits are everything I hoped for and everything in need! Beautiful and delicious.
Came in for the first time and enjoyed all of it! Parking was fairly easy to find and since we had a reservation we got seated quickly. We came for breakfast and the food was good (the biscuits were our favorite), our server did a good job, and the place was decorated nicely. We liked the vibe and would recommend!
Colleen’s in Mueller is a solid spot with good food and a comfortable atmosphere. The menu has a nice variety, and everything I tried was fresh and well-prepared. The service was friendly and efficient, and the space itself has a relaxed, modern feel. It’s a good choice for brunch, lunch, or dinner if you’re in the area. The cocktails are well-made, and the overall experience is enjoyable. I’d definitely come back.
Colleen’s did an Amazing job with lunch for our office today! The food is all scratch-made and next level Yum! We called & spoke with someone (John, I believe?) who was super friendly & helpful. All of the food was labeled & everything is so flavorful. Fried chicken is moist & delish, shrimp & grits, Mac & cheese and salads - all fresh & fabulous. Highest recommendation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We absolutely LOVED dining at Colleen’s Kitchen for our wedding anniversary! Where do I even begin? The place exudes the cutest Southern vibes, with a lovely atmosphere and incredibly helpful, friendly staff. The food was truly chef’s kiss — we both agreed it was the best-tasting, highest-quality meal we’ve ever had at a restaurant, and everything is homemade! Everything we ordered tasted exquisite. Their buttermilk biscuits with honey butter and jam are a signature must-have! We also tried their homemade tomato basil soup, which was equally delicious! My husband couldn’t get enough of the Chicken Pot Pie, and I adored the Mac ‘n’ Cheese and Colleen’s Cheeseburger. For drinks, my husband loved the Rue Bourbon (though it is a bit pricey), and I really enjoyed their non-alcoholic Dreamsicle. But best of all, they noticed it was our wedding anniversary and surprised us with a lovely complimentary dessert — such a thoughtful gesture! We’ll definitely be back and wholeheartedly give Colleen’s Kitchen a 12/10 recommendation.
Convenient spot for healthy options in plates or bowls. I had the hot honey chicken. It satisfied. I like the list of food suppliers on the wall. 👍🏼
The fried green tomatoes and their sauce were delicious! Our entrees (the avocado toast and the ham biscuit) were both fine, but lackluster. I particularly wanted the Serrano goat cheese to shine a bit more on the biscuit, but it was not detectable. The house hot sauce however was fantastic! Cute ambiance, convenient location, great service. Love the bathroom setup, and how cozy the booths felt. They also had it decorated very cute for the holidays.
I recently visited Colleen’s Restaurant in Austin, and overall, it was a great experience! The skillet cornbread was absolutely amazing — crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. The crab cake eggs Benedict were delicious as well, with perfectly cooked crab cakes and a rich hollandaise sauce. The Southern breakfast plate was good but didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The potatoes were fantastic, but the eggs, bacon, biscuit, and gravy lacked a bit of seasoning and flavor. The grits were good, though I'm just not a big fan of them in general. If you go, I highly recommend trying their signature dish: chicken and waffles. It was definitely a standout and worth ordering! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, which added to the overall positive experience. I would give Colleen’s a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Great food, great ambiance, and a wonderful place to enjoy a hearty meal in Austin!
The atmosphere was very open, spacious and homely. I loved the pillow accents in the booth seating. Service was impeccable. The honey battered chicken was seasoned perfectly and the homemade fries were delicious. The deviled eggs had a pinch too much salt but overall they were good. Plating was impeccable. I'd definitely recommend! Oh, and my guest loved their ranch sauce. Said it was the best they'd ever had!
This spot is all about bowls with healthy options. The amount they give you in each bowl is just right, enough to fill you up and feel satisfied without being too much or too little. The service is decent, and since it's rarely crowded, you get served quickly without long waits. You can also order your food online and pick it up, which is convenient. The downside is the place itself - it's kinda dull and gloomy, not really a lively atmosphere. I'd recommend grabbing your order and eating somewhere else to enjoy your meal more.
I dined in yesterday, and it was a little pricey($18) for my bowl but everything was fresh, nice portion size and delicious. Today at work we ordered Sweetgreens from Mueller via Grub Hub and we were extremely disappointed. Maybe due to the large order(11 bowls), but it looked like everything was quickly thrown together without consideration of portion size or presentation. The picture of the bowl shown has not been touch. Due to to the premium ingredients of goat cheese and avocado this bowl was slightly more than yesterday at $20!
Pretty good but nothings standout. I was excited to try this place because of how creative the menu was. Went with a group of people and we tried 6 dishes, it was decent but nothing sparked a WOW for me! The fried chicken was actually my least favorite thing which wasn't expected, given that's what they're known for. It's a convenient location in Mueller if you're hanging out there, but otherwise there is better southern food in Austin.
Tried the new Omega bowl, the salmon piece I got was so small (nothing like photo on the app). Not worth $18. Also service was sub par. Should’ve gone to Honest Mary’s right next door
I come to this sweetgreen all the time as I work nearby. Today I had an unfortunate experience. I had ordered online, picked up my food and walked back to work. When I opened it I realized they didn’t give me chicken I was supposed to get and put sweet potatoes instead which I didn’t ask for. I walked back and showed them the order. She took my plate back which I find unsanitary to begin with. But then picked up the sweet potatoes from my plate and put them back in the serving tray on the line. Then plopped the chicken on top and gave it back. I think it should’ve been remade for food safety reasons and considering it contained an ingredient I didn’t ask for. I’ve worked food service and I know this is not how it should’ve been handled. I’m not one to complain but that was very concerning to see and I feel people should know about this since it is a health safety concern. I come here a lot and usually don’t have a problem other than staff being kind of short and sometimes rude with me.
First time stopping by for a Sunday brunch with my partner. The patio area is super cute but we opted to sit inside at the bar since it was too hot outside. The interior, decor and just overall vibe was top notch. This would definitely be a perfect girls brunch date or dinner date. I ordered the mimosa which was 10/10 - I love how they simply top off the champagne with orange juice haha. We also ordered the fried tomatoes and chicken and waffles. Unfortunately the tomatoes were at best mediocre - the tomatoes themselves didn’t have that fresh, juicy texture and flavor that you get from most heirloom tomatoes and the batter wasn’t necessarily crispy. The chicken and waffles was probably the biggest let down. We felt bad and tried to finish our meal without having to complain but it just got to a point where the chicken was so dry, I got tired from chewing and swallowing. The batter on the chicken had a floury texture with some burnt parts, and the syrup was unbearably thick and sweet. Unfortunately this is currently the worst chicken and waffles dish I’ve ever had. However, when I alerted staff they were extremely open to feedback and had our dish taken away and replaced with another instead. We were not charged for the chicken and waffles, and our second dish (crab cake Benedict) was charged 50% off. Everyone who assisted in making our meal better seemed very genuine and I greatly appreciate the hospitality. Unfortunately, despite being a huge crab Benedict fan, this one didn’t meet our expectations either. It was covered in a sauce that was far too salty and the crab mixture had a fishy smell to it. Similar to the chicken and waffles, we felt like we had to force ourselves to finish this dish. The crab was so fishy that I went home after to rinse out my mouth :( I don’t think I would come back nor would I recommend this restaurant, but based on other good reviews it was worth the try.
I usually don’t write reviews unless I’ve had either an amazing experience or a truly miserable one. Unfortunately, this visit was the latter. When I arrived, there was one person ahead of me being helped by a woman who was patient and compassionate. As I waited, the man prepping in the back came up to assist me. The moment he approached, he said “What you want,” in an uninterested, dismissive tone. I brushed it off at first, but things only went downhill as I started building my bowl. I was completely disregarded in terms of patience and customer service, even though I was ordering two bowls—one for myself and one for my partner, as I often do. After choosing my base, we moved on to toppings, where I felt rushed through every selection. We couldn’t move forward because the customer ahead of me was still choosing their toppings, yet he kept pushing me to list everything I wanted, even though we hadn’t reached the other stations. I asked that we complete one bowl at a time to avoid confusion and cross-contamination. Throughout the entire interaction, his impatience and rude tone made me genuinely want to walk out and abandon my order. Once I was passed off to the woman who had been assisting the previous customer, the experience immediately shifted back to the level of service I normally expect from Sweetgreen. As a loyal customer for years, this visit was incredibly disappointing and left me with a genuinely miserable impression.
Lol this place is sad! I don’t really review places unless it’s amazing or the opposite. This place is definitely the opposite. Don’t know what happened but the last few months this location has gone to trash. I’d rather eat out of the trash than eat here. Don’t know who’s managing it but it seems to be run by a bunch of children who think they are so cool! I overheard them making fun of a customer with a nut allergy saying some very gross things. Won't go into details but I’m sure you can imagine. What happened to the older guy who was managing before? He actually seemed to care about this business. I’ll be going somewhere else from now on.
Just came here for the first time since I’ve been wanting to try their salads. I did a create your own salad and it came out to almost $30 for one salad! I was charged additional for everything added while some toppings like mushrooms is the cost of chicken because it’s “protein” I would have left this salad there but I didn’t want to feel bad and waste the time of the person who made it even though he face off a very nonchalant attitude….. then to learn that there’s a limited season special salad on the website for $15 that is the exact way I made my salad. Yes I probably should have done a little due diligence on my end to fully explore the menus and offerings…. But would have been nice if the employee caught that and made the suggestion to a patronized customer. Guess every dollar counts towards him getting a raise. Go figure.
The menu in the store doesn't actually tell you prices. It tells you a range. So the cost is just a surprise at the end. The staff didn't know how much certain protein choices would cost, and there was literally no way to know. I guess they only want rich people eating here? Unbelievable.
Quality of the food has significantly gone downhill. Let’s face it - we return to restaurants for the food / quality of ingredients - NOT just the service & the atmosphere. I won’t be returning anytime soon. They used to have many ORGANIC option of the toppings etc , now there’s barely anything organic.
