This is officially my favorite pizza restaurant in Austin. If you haven't stopped in you definitely should. I went with a party of 8 for my Birthday on a Saturday night. August, our server and Dequan the bartender both made me feel so special. August and Dequan were witty, charming, kind and accommodating. It truly does not take much to make a lasting impression! While I'm at it, theres another server that I've had in the past who also deserves shouting out. Sadly I do not remember his name but he's a caucasian man, with longer hair and we bonded over his fantastic turquoise earring that he was wearing for the 1st time. He is also fantastic and adds to the strength of this team! Dovetail has amazing food and great staff. I will be a fan for life.

Outstanding. We visited on a Saturday right at lunch time. The area is adorable, parking was super easy and cheap especially in Austin. It's located in a great area so we walked around a little. The food and service was wonderful. Our server was great, a recent UTSA graduate. She was lovely. My husband and I split a pizza and the meatball sub. Both were delicious. My son and his gf tried the wings and the "meat" pizza. The share size is really big, we needed a box to take home. My daughter had the bolognese and her bf had the chicken pesto sandwich. He really loved his sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their food, we were sat right away. I tried the lavender lemonade. I highly recommend this place and we would love to go back the next time we're in town.

We love Dovetail so much! We go all the with friends and bring our kids. the pizza is great. the drinks are awesome. the menu always has yummy specials and new things, but the tride and true items are always there. also, if you have anyone that is gluten free --- hands down the best gluten free dough in Austin!

This pizza is amazing!! I'm gluten free and their crust and flavor reminded me so much of Chicago bar pizza in the best way. It was thin, crunchy, huge in size (not the usual tiny personal pies I get at other restaurants) and so so yummy. Leftovers were great the next day too when I warmed them up in my oven. Customer service was attentive, vibe was relaxed but still nice. It was perfect for a pizza date night. My partner loved the regular pizza too and was raving about it the next day. We can't wait to come back! This is gonna be a regular rotation for sure.

Great Pizza! Had the Bouldin Creek Chicken Artichoke pizza and had the Fried Castelvetrano Olives for starters, can't go wrong with those, Fantastic! Will definitely be back!

Great pizza with nice outdoor seating. We had the calamari which was a little oily but the wedge salad and veggie sandwich were delicious. 10/10 would recommend. Grab the sandwiches before 3! Great happy hour as well!

On our second visit to Dovetail Pizza, we knew exactly what we were coming back for—the Prime Rib Pizza. And once again, it did not disappoint! The crust was perfectly crisp, the prime rib was incredibly tender, and the flavors were just spot on. We also ordered the Wedge Salad, which was fresh and had the perfect balance of crisp lettuce and creamy dressing. The Corn Fried Calamari was a standout appetizer—light, crispy, with greens, making it a unique take on a classic dish. The Fried Shrimp Alfredo was rich and flavorful, with a perfectly creamy sauce that wasn’t too heavy. Dovetail Pizza continues to impress, and after this second visit, we’re sure it won’t be our last! ________ Dovetail Pizza impresses with its well-rounded menu, especially with the Wedge Salad, Pesto Chicken Macaroni, and Prime Rib Pizza. The Wedge Salad, with its crisp iceberg lettuce, smoky bacon, and tangy blue cheese dressing, offers a refreshing start to the meal. The Pesto Chicken Macaroni combines perfectly cooked pasta with a rich, herbaceous pesto sauce and tender chicken, delivering both comfort and flavor. The Prime Rib Pizza is the star, featuring succulent slices of prime rib and perfectly baked crust. Each dish offers a satisfying blend of flavors, making Dovetail Pizza a must-visit for any food lover.

They had me at fried olives and they did not disappoint! The shrimp Alfredo was yummy and had a good amount of sauce. The prime rib pizza was really good. Their homemade sesame chili oil was addictive. Great cocktail options too!

The pizza was so good! The crust was amazing and we got the hot honey on the side. It was some of the best hot honey I had had! We also got the buffalo wings which were amazing (coming from avid wing lovers) and the fried olives (unique and pretty good). We 100% will be back for a nice date night

We found out about this place through Instagram. I’m glad we decided to give it a try. Their portions are big enough to share. We had the calamari, cesar salad and pepperoni pizza. All delicious! I especially liked the pizza. Not very saucy, which I prefer. It was a little warm inside, but I guess that’s expected with the extreme Texas heat. Definitely going back to try other items on the menu.

We ordered the Caesar Salad with Chicken, Fried Calamari, and the Prime Rib Pizza. Overall, it’s a solid restaurant. Nothing mind-blowing, but we had a good meal. The Caesar Salad was good—just the right amount of dressing and Parmesan, and I loved the mushrooms in it. The calamari was okay, but the fried lemon and onion that came with it were a bit odd for my taste. I did like the generous amount of arugula, though. The Prime Rib Pizza was delicious, but definitely not the typical one. If you like arugula, you’ll probably enjoy this one. The pizza had a little kick, and the meat in it was super tender.

This was a fun date night experience... we sat outside on the patio and enjoyed dinner together. The spaghetti and Meatball (one big meatball) were delicious but over salted for my taste. The pizza are an experience that I recommend though. My husband loved the meat pizza and how it tasted and has already mentioned how he wants to take some friends from out of town here.

Pleasant surprise of a gem on South First. First and foremost the pizza here is amazing. The crust of the pizza is just how it should be, thin and crispy, it holds the ingredients of the pie. The menu has a few good options for house pizzas but you can build your own and that's how I tend to roll when I eat pizza. The service was great, the staff are very attentive and kind, not once did I have to wait or ask for anything. If you're looking for a great pizza and a new flavor, give Dovetail a try.
