Their veggie burger actually tasted like meat. It was so good. They were definitely not stingy with the pickles either, which is a big plus. Their cheese fries are BOMB. Me and my daughter will definitely be returning. Also love how they have different lemonade flavors. The staff was very kind and helpful and atmosphere was really relaxing.

A cute and vibrant bar located on South Lamar near Alamo Drafthouse — I like to pop by for a pre or post-movie beverage. Their drink menu rotates with the seasons along with the decorations. All of the bartenders I’ve met have been great — shoutout to Britnee who I always love to see. Great for a date night or girls night.

Best bar in Austin. Been coming here since 2010s Great patio. Probably my favorite patio in all of Austin. The staff always goes ALL OUT around the holidays with decoration and fun vibes. Parking can be wonky but the drinks and service and setting all make up for that minor inconvenience.

This was my first time visiting this bar during the Christmas season, and I was truly impressed by the atmosphere. The bar is beautifully decorated for the holidays, creating a warm and inviting vibe that makes it a great place to relax and hang out with friends. I ordered the frozen Rockin’ Around the Hibiscus Marg, which was refreshing and well made. The price was very reasonable for the quality. What made the experience even better was the bartender — she was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The space is stylish and comfortable, with plenty of nice spots to sit and take photos, and it never felt crowded or overwhelming. Overall, I had a great experience. The combination of the festive ambiance, good-quality drinks, friendly staff, and fair pricing makes this bar a wonderful place to spend time during the holidays or for a casual night out with friends. If you are coming to Gibson, you have to hope Ceddi is behind the bar. He isn’t just a bartender; he’s the main event. Not only are his drinks incredible (ask for the Griswold, it changed my life), but his energy is unmatched. Even with a packed bar, he managed to make everyone feel like a VIP. He’s fast, funny, and has an uncanny ability to know exactly what you need before you even order it. Ceddi turned a regular night out into a core memory. We will definitely be coming back just to see him!

October 2024 It's Halloween season and came to the Gibson Street Bar to experience their impressive Twisted Carnival. We entered from the back where felt like walking into an enclosed circus tent. We loved the atmosphere where there was a massive collection of creepy characters on display. It was a massive photo op and spend a lot of time in here before walking up the stairs into the bar. The balcony was the same creepiness but the inside was overwhelming. I really like it and the staff did a wonderful job. They also had a special drink menu to pick your poison. I ordered the Ectoplasam. It was a frozen green pineapple drink for tasted very good. They truly went all out with this immersive experience while enjoying great drinks.

This is a nice bar and the drinks are great. They go all out with decorations for both Halloween and Christmas and I love the way the bar looks! The drinks are very good as well. My most recent visit was Halloween night. They were packed so I opted not to stay and get a drink, but I will have to make it out again sometime soon.

Shack burger was really tasty,onions also incredible but the portion could be bigger,bacon burger was ok but not recommended.

This is such a cool place! Its close to downtown and has stunning views! The food was pretty good but it looked pretty different from how it was advertised. The service wasnt really active, bevause you order on a screen. It took aboit 10 minutes to get 3 burgers, 2 fries, and 3 drinks. I really recommend going here

We stopped by Gibson Street Bar during their Twisted Carnival celebration where they transformed into, well, a twisted carnival. They typically do this for certain holidays throughout the year, which is very cool. Decorations were strewn throughout the bar giving it a spooky vibe. Everyone was in costume and the place was packed with some good energy; definitely the place to put you in the spirit of the season. They also have a second floor if the open area downstairs gets just a bit too hectic for you. Some things we did notice were that it’s incredibly hard to find parking in the area. That part isn’t really on the bar, more so the area it’s in, but still important to notice. The place was also PACKED. While they do offer seating, it is very hard to come by and you have to essentially hawk over benches hoping someone will move. Lastly, the drinks were very expensive. This could be a symptom of it being a holiday celebration and having things like that just cost more, but it was still a hole in the wallet for those getting multiple drinks. We will say the drinks are good though so it does offset the price a bit. They also had a Photo Booth, which was cool, but you can’t see where you are in relation to the photo being taken so that makes it a bit tricky to use. We’re not down on South Lamar all too often, but for events like this we definitely will be. The setting was great, drinks were good, and vibes were high. Nothing much more you can ask for, or get in a bar. We will be back in the future for any holiday celebrations they might be throwing!

Went to Gibson’s Bar for there holiday theme. It was a nice set up, they had the big out door tent with a bunch of decorations. Fun place to check out to have a drink. Cocktails were about $15 and more which is abit pricy for a small drink, but I guess that’s what you pay theses days.

First time here. I was at a client's private company Christmas Party. A bunch if folks said they were going to a bar all decked out for Christmas. YES THEY WERE. I had a nice porter...they have a ton of awesome drinks, staff were cool, and the atmosphere was great. The group of us sat in the tent our back.

Oh my gyat it’s so expensive 😭😭 but so tasty I’m fine with indulging & I’d come here more often if I had a 100k salary. But this was $40 so I’m taking myself back to in & out or McDonald’s😔 staff is amazing tho! Today was my first time to visit a Shake Shack. I’ve heard very good things about their hamburgers and was excited to give it a try. A gentleman working the counter was very helpful guiding me through the kiosk to order a smashburger and an order of fries. After waiting what seemed like an unusually long time, my order was delivered to the table. The burger was small, but very tasty. The bun was very soft and delicious The lettuce was, as the picture shows, tiny and completely wilted I was unable to bite through it, as it slid off the burger in one chewy mess. I enjoyed the fries (warm, not hot) and thought the portion was fair for the $4 charge. Overall, I would like to give it a 3.5 star rating if that was possible.

Ordered a well done burger. I really dislike undercooked hamburgers. I’m not apologetic about that - that’s the way I want it and am not comfortable with undercooked hamburgers. Mine was below pink. See photo. Not the first time it’s happened. In terms of a “quality control” issue I bet they put out a percentage of pink or even red (raw) in the middle burgers that would make the manager cringe. I really wish when “well done” is ordered and stamped on the receipt that they would tell the kitchen to pay attention and not just cook it like any other order, even if they are busy! Especially at a premium price! I do really like their burgers and fries but as someone who doesn’t like undercooked hamburgers I will wait a bit till I want to order again. Unfortunately it was take out so I was home and could not ask for a redo.

Had the Big Shack and some onion rings. Burger was fresh but nothing that was really memorable another than it's $10 for a basic burger. Onions rings were quite bland and to serve a tiny 6 piece portion for $5 seemed steep. Good in a pinch for a burger craving. Nothing going that would make me think about it again with other good food options in the area.

I’m impressed with their fun and creative decorations for Halloween. The drinks were good but the bartenders are unfriendly, they need to be hospitable working in service. There’s only a few parking spots while it’s so packed.

I usually love shake shack, ordered via lunch drop and the burger was rare/med-rare. Inedible for me. If you can’t take in a bulk order and cook everything properly then please don’t accept large orders. This left me without lunch all day at work.

We love this place, and often bring people from out of town as well as our friends here to be in the environment. However, last night, we stopped by after dinner to see the Christmas decor and get a round. The little man with the massive gauges decided to up charge everything like a sleaze. We were suspicious of it, so we decided to close out then order another round with another bartender and the price came out to nearly half the price. If that guy is there in the future, we will quit visiting. Extremely disappointing. Beware

(Update) New review Came to the bar with a couple of friends, We met a bartender named Sedrick, was extremely rude the entire time and lied about how my tab wasn’t able to stay open and would me close out of my tab every single time but when I checked him and said to put my card into the computer and not the mobile card reader it “somehow” stayed opened so yes he’s a liar the other bartenders I mentioned in my original review were great so go to them instead smh

Edit!: Horrible! got rid of the dairy free shake for no reason! No reason to ever go back. The plant based shake is very good. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The fries got cold and kinda gross quick.

used to love this place—especially around Halloween. I stopped by recently to see their seasonal décor, but for no apparent reason, I was denied entry. I was completely sober, yet the doorman turned me away without explanation. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told I “wasn’t standing straight,” which was both untrue and insulting. The staff’s attitude was condescending and dismissive, and it’s disappointing to see how far this place has fallen.
