Opinions de Jeffrey's Austin
I had the lamb chops. Very flavorful, cut like butter. Very delicious mashed potatoes. Very delicious! Now I wasn't a fan of the mac and cheese, My personal opinion it can use more flavor. But the cheesecake I was very impressed by. Very delicious 😋
If I could give Jeffrey’s 10 stars, I would! It’s been on our list for quite some time so when I found a reservation open for Valentine’s weekend, we snatched it up! Everything was fantastic! Truffled deviled eggs, lobster bisque, filet with an onion ring and marrow roasted garlic bulb, New York strip with the garlic confit and rosemary butter, broccolini, the pineapple dessert (forgot the name). We will be back! New favorite in Austin!
Impeccable food and service that show the people here care about what they do. They listen to you and deliver, every single time.
We had an amazing dinner here celebrating my husband’s birthday. The service was above and beyond, our waiter, despite being pretty young was VERY knowledgeable about the wine selection which is a huge plus for us and hard to find in Austin it seems. The portions were huge, way bigger than I was expecting and everything was very tasty including the dessert. Another waiter who dropped off our food even took an awesome photo of us. We will definitely be returning for special occasions in the future and this is now my new favorite steakhouse!
Went for an early Valentine’s date before the actual holiday. Partner and I arrived early and our table was still getting set. We did have a place to sit at a bay window in the lobby area, which was really cute. Carlos was our waiter and was awesome. Our first time there so he was checking in to see if we had any questions on the menu and made very tasty recommendations. Glad we celebrated our early Valentine’s with Jeffrey’s 🩷
Austins most elite restaurant. Words can’t describe how beautifully designed and aesthetically pleasing this restaurant is. The ambience, the music, the uniforms from the staff and the exquisite menu are the perfect combination for a special night, a night to impress or a night to indulge. Devil eggs, devil eggs, devil eggs. Also do not forget to ask for the complementary truffle popcorn. This place has very good quality meat and plenty of tasteful sides to take the perfect pairing.
I can see why this place has been around so long and is still so well regarded. We've been wanting to go for years and finally made it happen for a birthday dinner. The steak was incredible, the deviled eggs were amazing....really everything. And of course, you have to have great service if you're going to charge high prices, and they do. Even the cocktails were excellent. Definitely worth a special occasion! One of the best steaks you'll ever have.
What can I say that hadn’t already been said? This place is special. After being given a gift card last Christmas, my husband and I finally made a reservation…and now I wish we had done so much sooner! From the moment we pulled up to valet to when we left, the staff made us feel so welcome. Our server was such a gem as well! (I wish I could remember his name so I could give him a shoutout!) As for the food? Unmatched. Best filet I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. The lobster bisque, the popover bread, and the mashed potatoes were standouts, as well. Essentially everything we ate there last night was incredible. We came in to celebrate our recent marriage, so, as a surprise finale to our meal, they brought us over some little dessert bites and two glasses of champagne. A perfect end to a perfect dinner. We will definitely be back for future special occasions.
Absolutely one of the best fine dining steak houses. Steaks were spectacular. Duck rillets and frog legs 5 starts. Collin was stunning server and knowledgeable in food and wine. Desserts fantastic. This review is allotted pointless as everything was stellar. Lobster bisque? Yes. Cranberry tart? Yes. Don't fret. Just go.
Jeffrey’s has set the standard for food and service excellence in Austin for years. Sunday is half price wine night (any bottle!) so we make quarterly overpriced trips from San Antonio to enjoy date night. Our most recent date put us with our server Jacob in the bar. We love to people watch! Jacob made our night with his menu and wine knowledge, as well as his most excellent service attitude.
This is a restaurant that we love to visit. The food is always amazing and the service is impeccable. The staff is attentive and always trying their best to make sure that your experience is perfect. This Austin's most romantic restaurant. Dress to impress and your date will definitely love the moment. The lighting sets the mood everytime. Food is appropriately priced for the quality and you will not be disappointed.
From valet to final exit, this was the best dining experience I’ve had in years. I tend to be quite critical and notice everything—having spent some time in the industry myself—but Jeffrey’s exceeded every expectation and raised the bar once again. Carlos was our server, and he (along with the entire team) went above and beyond for us tonight. This was my husband’s second visit and my first; after weeks of hearing about his previous experience, I can now say he was 100% right! I highly recommend requesting Carlos. He paid attention to every detail and asked subtle, thoughtful questions to personalize our evening. He didn’t miss a beat and even took our valet tag ahead of time so our car was waiting for us as we checked out—an incredible finishing touch. The entire staff was attentive, pleasant, and clearly supportive of one another. This team takes genuine pride in what they do, and it makes all the difference. The food came out in perfect order, even with a late reservation—compliments to the BOH for their flawless execution. This was such a treat; we can’t wait to return—hopefully sooner (and earlier!) than later. Thank you again, Carlos and Jeffrey's team, until next time!
Everything at Jeffrey’s was phenomenal. From the moment we arrived to the nicest and kindest valet you could ask for to the tea after dessert, no moment was less than spectacular. The popover bread with their ricotta and honey spread was DIVINE. The popcorn, which is served at the bar but you can get it at the dinner table, was so delicious! I ordered the truffle deviled eggs and they were amazing! The truffle is strong, but not overly so. If you don’t like truffle you may not be a huge fan because you definitely taste it. Then for the entrees. Oh the entrees! I have never had a better steak in my life. Never. And I have had a lot of steak. I don’t think that I will ever find a better one. I had the Legacy La Grange, Texas 12oz New York Strip and my husband got the Dean & Peele Floresville, Texas 8oz Tenderloin Filet. Both were perfectly cooked, perfectly prepared, perfectly presented. Perfect, perfect, perfect. We both got the onion ring on top and I got the Garlic and Rosemary Butter. I could go on for hours about these steaks, but the sides, they deserve all the praise too. We both got the steak fries and pommes puree. They were heavenly. I don’t know what they do to make those potatoes so smooth and delicious but I don’t think there is a better side dish out there. Then we finished with some in house made vanilla bean ice cream with house made whipped cream. It was exactly what we needed. Not to heavy but absolutely delicious. I also got a chamomile and lavender tea after diner and it was heavenly. The service was impeccable and the drinks were strong. All adding to the overall wonderful experience. Our server was very friendly and kind, her name was Megan. She is a rockstar! Such an incredible experience. All of it, everything. 10/10, 5 stars, no notes. Do yourself a favor and just go yourself so you can enjoy this one of kind gem.
Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, but also gives the most authentic traditional white glove service in town. There are no bad seats. I went on my own - I really wanted lobster bisque and to feel taken care of. I was well met with both here. The bartender was fantastic. I had never sat in front of her before but she made me feel like I was a well respected and regarded guest of many years. The food, service, and ambiance are all top notch. It was the perfect place to come feel enveloped in care and good taste. Solid decaf cappuccino, a preferred way to end a meal for me, which only added to feeling of indulged comfort. I will be back. Update: And I have been. Again. And again. And again. Now when I just pop in the hosts know me and can let me know on the spot if they can fit me in. They know my phone number and can automatically fill in my information. The service here is simply unmatched. Bravo. Special love for Finn the manager of the bar area with such fineness.
Dang, dude. This place was everything the hype surrounding it says it is as an "Austin staple." Food. Amazing. Service. Incredible. Atmosphere. Classy meets trendy. Perfect for special occasions or happy hours. From the start, the bread (pop overs) are remarkable - we were tempted to skip due to "eating healthier", but are so glad we didn't as the soft flakiness paired with the ricotta butter is simply a "can't miss." The cocktails were fantastic with a wide array of spirits to choose from as well and a whole iPad's worth of wine to browse through. Horsd'oeuvres (all of the ones we had) were another set of "can't go wrongs" as each small bite (meant for 1-2 peeps with a bite each) were so tasty. We tried 3 different ones - the deviled eggs, crab beignets, and ham & cheese croquettes - wow. Just wow. Finally, the entrees were soooo worth the price of admission. We enjoyed a wonderful 12 oz wagyu steak (don't ask me which as there's a great selection to choose from) and the Pekin duck breast. Both were some of the best eats we had to celebrate our special anniversary evening - which, side note, they make you feel so special with little surprises here and there. Props to Harold on being awesome and giving awesome recs. He was equally professional as was both charming and knowledgeable. All in all, Jeffrey's quickly went to the top of our atx eating lists and is one you should absolutely have on your radar.
I’m a Houston partisan and it is very difficult to admit this but if I was given a choice to eat anywhere in the state, it would be here. The service is so professional. Anything you want, however you want it, they are happy to accommodate. For a table of 4, we decided to split a bunch of apps and then a sliced up porterhouse. It was perfect for the table. Pro tip: ask for au poivre sauce for the steak. So good. It’s a difficult reservation, need to plan a couple of weeks in advance, but so well worth it.
I came here for my first dinner with my friends. My sister and my friends booked a table at 9.30pm as it was the only time available. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and every table is full of customers. We ordered 2 bottles of wine and all the dishes we ordered were shared style as we wanted to try many different dishes. All the dishes were delicious, with good quality ingredients and beautifully presented. Our server, Sterling, was very attentive and Also was the manager and all service team. Everyone very nice. I am not surprised that this restaurant is so popular. We very enjoy and good time to spend at Jeffrey’s & Josephine house. Thank you your wonderful experience here. Highly recommend for dating too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I heard this place had good food and wanted to give it a try, not knowing what to expect. The restaurant was dimly lit and has the right amount of lighting over each table to enjoy a sexy date night. The food was incredible. The wagyu ribeye was the best steak I’ve ever eaten. Crispy on the outside with a soft bite, perfectly cooked and paired well with the bernaise, and mashed potatoes on the side. The burger, and bucatini were on the Monday discounted item portion of the menu. The burger was delicious, the fries, and bucatini just ok in my opinion. The duck had 6 thick medallion cuts that were perfectly cooked tender bites that was also so delicious. Our server Damien described each dish perfectly and was serving us at the perfect moments, balancing not wondering where he went and not being up in our grill. Shout out to him. Overall whatever you get here I’m sure you will love, just make a reservation first.
Classic and old school but not stuffy. Great wine list and inventive cocktails. Steaks are the highlight but we kept it different and enjoyed the veal and a pork chop. I could eat the pop overs all day! Service was great and attentive to timing. Can’t wait to go back and dive into the wine list again.
One of the best steaks I've ever had!!! Huge wine selection, friendly service, and all of the food was top notch. The lobster bisque was not overly rich like some cam be. The wagyu and black Angus fusion steak was unique and flavorful. It was perfect by itself, but a different and tasty adventure with the butter or garlic on top. Highly recommend this classy steak joint
I came to celebrate my anniversary in December here and hadn’t had a moment to share my experience. I got a Chase special reservation for a Thursday 9:30pm, which was the only spot I could get. We were met with complimentary champagne which was lovely, a few small places, and each a steak. The service took longer than expected to get our dinner, dessert, to go plates, and check. The service leading up to it was wonderful, but the tail end of our experience we found ourselves having to ask waiters and people bussing the tables at the end of the night for our checks and where our to-go boxes were. For the price, I really wish I would’ve had more attentive service. Great food though.
I have been coming to your restaurant every year for 10 years minus the Covid shutdown. I always enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. However, I went there last night for my birthday and again the service in particular our waiter Braden and the atmosphere was five star however I felt the food was subpar at best. I ordered a 12oz New York strip my date ordered a snapper. The steak was supposed to be medium rare came out overcooked with little flavor and was luke warm. The snapper also had a very mushy texture and strong smell. Generally, it was a big disappointment, considering how much I had raved about you to my date. For the price of the food not including drinks, $250 , it was not worth it. I don’t know if the chef was off that night or didn’t care. In any event I will not be returning.
Now: Understaffed. Waited half hour for a valet. Hire more staff and staff up. Before: This is a hidden gem. In business since 1975. The experience is always first rate. Delicious food, amazing wine and cocktails, super chill ambience, impeccable service. Never lets you down. Open later than most. Better food than the rest.
