I had the potato and chorizo empanada and the cheesy hash brown casserole. The empanada dough was flaky and delicious and the filling was really well balanced. The hash browns casserole had a beautiful crispy exterior and a creamy inside. It came with a jalapeño sauce that gave it a nice heat and just amazing. My husband had the pancakes with scrambled eggs and holy pancake it was huge and fluffy and the eggs were done perfectly 10/10 highly recommend. I will say that it’s easier to get in with a reservation or go really early.
If you're looking for a breakfast that feels a bit more elevated than your standard diner, this is the spot. Their menu features some truly elegant and unique options. I tried the Migas, and the texture was spot on—the mix of eggs, fresh corn tortillas, pico de gallo, and cheese was delicious. It stays packed here..Even on a Friday, it was buzzing. Expect a wait, though I managed to snag a spot at the bar pretty quickly. There is a small lot upfront, but don't panic if it's full—there is additional parking in the back alley. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive despite how busy they are. The coffee was just "okay," but the fresh food and great service make it well worth the price and the visit.
Drinks are boozy, generous portion, definitely one level above the average brunch spot in Austin. I recommend to put an alert on open table to secure a spot if you don’t want to wait. Else you will accidentally order an extra cocktail while waiting in line ;)
First time and just in town for the weekend. Found free parking on 10th, Made reservations and our table was ready early! Good vibes from the start, awesome customer service! Food was pure joy and made my husband smile a smile I have seen in so long. Expensive but you are paying for more than a bite to eat! Pleasseeee Come to Dallas and make a killing 💚
When I landed in Austin, Texas for the first time, this was the first restaurant I ate at.The vibe was chill and the space quaint. I had the Migas and iced matcha for brunch . I loved the taste of my meal! ,The matcha was earthy tasting but still good. My friends and I sat on the roof top . I would definitely go back next time I’m in town . “Stay wierd”
The hype is real!! We got the migas and steak sandwich, and received a free cinnamon toast for my birthday. The first bite of that toast may have been the best bite of any food I’ve had recently—crisp, caramelized toast covered with tangy, buttery, and not-too-sweet mascarpone spread, topped with a salty and sweet walnut streudel. Chefs kiss! We’re super excited to try the chicken and biscuits next time since we saw them at another table and they looked absolutely amazing!!
The food was amazing! We started with the cheddar biscuits and they were really good. As for entrees the steak & eggs were filling and well-presented. The potatoes are also a must-try especially when accompanied by their special sauce. I personally had the texas hash (i think that’s what it’s called), and it was also pretty good although next time I’d probably get the steak and eggs. Regardless of what you pick, both have a ton of flavor and are good portions. Everyone left full and they weren’t rationing anyone with the servings, it was the perfect amount. Service was amazing! Our waitress was Maddie and she was incredibly attentive and sweet! Today was my graduation and she made sure to bring me a sweet treat to help me celebrate. She was so bubbly and she made the experience what it was. It was my first time at Paperboy but definitely won’t be my last! Service 10/10, food 10/10 and so was the atmosphere! Perfect day to sit outside and they have such a peaceful setup. Thank you for a great time and making my special day even more special Maddie!
This is the place I’ve been searching for—breakfast actually worth getting out of the house for. It’s not your typical take on breakfast, and that’s exactly what makes it so special. I recommend getting there early, because the waitlist fills up fast. The last time I went, the wait was two hours, but luckily the bar had an open seat for a single. And honestly, the flavor is the reason the wait exists. It’s absolutely worth it. The crew is incredible. The entire time I was there, they moved in unison, sending out dish after dish with perfect presentation. They worked harder than some construction crews I’ve seen recently—completely in sync and never missing a beat. They were just as impressive as the food. Now I understand why this spot is a true Austin, TX staple. The OG Texas Hash is my top recommendation—a beautiful blend of sweet potatoes, roasted pork, kale, and a perfectly poached egg. It was incredible.
Went there for breakfast. Head up - waited for ~ 1.5 hours to be sewted. We got the the lox plate as a shareable, which was very fresh and tasty. Also got the chicken and biscuits—super flavorful but very heavy and filling, so pace yourself. The steak and eggs were okay (I’ve definitely had better steaks). The pancakes were really fluffy, not too sweet, and the blueberries were just the right amount
I just love it here. The place is so dry and happy that staff is so supportive communicative talkative and just make you feel welcomed in my last visit. I had a special salmon dish, which I was told rotate every few months. They had a kind of Japanese version this time with beetroot and flower shaped cucumbers, and it was just out of this world oatmilk cappuccino was also top notch.
Absolutely amazing food with a lovely atmosphere and staff. The poblano & cheddar biscuits are addictive, especially with the jalapeño jam. I am also pretty sure the Earl Grey Cold Brew has ruined my life since I do not live here and have not found anything comparable to it in my area. Very friendly staff, and the dishes are beautiful and delicious. Cheddar hashbrown was also delicious.
We tried Paperboy for breakfast and loved it! We had the cheesy hash, huevos rancheros bowl, migas, and a pancake. The hash browns were something different but really good, and the pancake was super fluffy and tasty. The ranchero bowl and migas both had great flavor. Overall, everything was delicious, definitely coming back next time we’re in Austin!
Super cute spot! The staff is cool and friendly. The food was really interesting and tasty. Loved the patio seating. We got the classic breakfast, which was solid. Good portion. Also the empanada and guava poptart. Both crazy good. The pop tart is sweet like a dessert but the tart guava filling is a nice balance. The empanada super tasty and savory. Excellent filling. Can’t wait to come here again and try more menu items!
Finding this place in Austin was a real gem; it’s was a super nice restaurant. My boyfriend and I had brunch. We didn’t have a reservation, but the hostess save us a table. It took about 20 minutes, but it was worth it because the food was delicious! My boyfriend ordered a Bloody Mary, mimosas and I had a capuccino. The atmosphere is super relaxed, and the food is quick. The servers are very friendly attentive. It was an incredible experience; I highly recommend it.
Fantastic breakfast we shared the empanada, biscuits and jam, Huevos Rancheros Grits and the Paperboy Pancake. Everything was great. Even their drip coffee was next level. Only complaint is getting blasted by the sun the entire breakfast. Could easily be addressed but they did not have a remedy for it unfortunately.
Wow! The food was amazing as was the service! We ordered the chicken and gravy and their gravy was divinely magical! It was sweet, savory and I think I detected a hint of nutmeg in it. Delicious! Also, the pancake was the most buttery, soft pancake I've ever had and it was served with a sweet cinnamon butter. Their cheesy hashbrown was really good too! The staff are super nice and provide exceptional service!
Paperboy is absolutely phenomenal. The meal started with four buttery biscuits, served with butter and a seasonal marmalade—this time, peach. They were divine: flaky, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The hash was a perfect balance of flavors, with the natural sweetness of the sweet potatoes paired beautifully with the savory shredded pork. The pecan mole added just the right touch of depth without being overpowering. The pancakes were another standout—light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. Truly a must-order. The only miss for me was the cheesy potato side. It wasn’t bad, but compared to everything else, it didn’t stand out, and I likely wouldn’t order it again. Overall, Paperboy delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommend.

Great service, short wait. Expensive ($70 for 2 entrees, 2 lattes, oj and bacon) but worth every penny. Texas Hash and chicken and Biscuit were delicious.

We’ve eaten here twice now and we’d say this is a good breakfast spot. Reservations are recommended, walk in can be risky here since the restaurant is small and they have reached wait list capacity before. We’ve had the cinnamon toast, b.e.c. sandwich, migas with carnitas, chicken & biscuit, and jalapeño and cheddar biscuits and all have been good. I would not recommend any alcoholic drinks (tasted like non alcoholic & expensive) and just stick to the coffee. Service can also be hit or miss here with frequency of check ins, refilling coffee, and removal of plates so the table isn’t crowded. Atmosphere wise the tables can be close together where everyone can really hear conversation. Overall we’d come back on a whim, but we wouldn’t book it months in advance to come back.
Loved the upstairs patio with a view out onto the street! (And lots of grackels) We got very caught up in eating, so the Lox is the only photo we got, before it quickly disappeared. ;) The Pimento B.E.C. was delicious, and all the portion sizes were generous. I would not however do the smoked bloody Mary again, it was a bit overpowering.
In Austin and I had to come to paperboy because the food looked great online and I was in need of that pancake! We started off with drinks, I got the mocha latte and my partner got the ginger, hibiscus cocktail. Both were great but tasted exactly how you think they do. No shade, just nothing special. My partner ordered the steak and I got the special breakfast with a side of hashbrowns. The hashbrowns are easily the stars of the show, crispy, pillowy and well seasoned. They are sat in a sauce I couldn't recognize but really enjoyed! My partner loved her steak and eggs. My sausage and eggs were fine but that pancake was just sensational. Honestly, I started looking up how to achieve the texture on this thing and the height! It tastes of blueberry (i added those on an upcharge) , sweet warm syrup and just pillowy heavenly pancake goodness. I really enjoyed this meal. The place is a little pricey but everything tasted fresh, diligently made and not something you'd see slung out of a sysco truck and on to a flat top grill that hasn't been cleaned in a week (shout out to waffle house 🤣). To me the price is worth it and yes id gladly pay it again and again for this delicious way to start a wonderful day! One thing I want a fan of however was the seating, the inside is tight so most guest flow to the patio. The patio was fine and heated but there were a lot of birds. I know. I get it, birds are expected outside but they were hopping on top of the tables and kind of begging around for food. I love the animals but not while I'm eating. This killed the atmosphere for me but the food was 10/10.
Me and my daughter shared the classic breakfast plate and pancakes. We played hookie and really enjoyed the food and coffee.
