This is the kind of business that stands the test of time. Fratelli Ristorante & Pizzeria in Bay Shore has good food, but what really makes it special is the people. Everyone is so friendly, thoughtful, and detail-oriented. We went for pizza and I bought soup to go for me, with my husband and my daughter. They actually asked which slice my daughter was going to eat so they could warm it up a little less, so it wouldn’t be too hot for her. I thought that was so nice and so thoughtful — I didn’t even think about it myself. And when I ordered my soup to go, they kept it warm for me. Another time we went, they offered my daughter a candy cane. They’re just genuinely kind and personal. It honestly feels like going to your grandparents’ house to eat — that warm, family-friendly feeling that makes you want to go back all the time.

John and Vinny were so sweet to me and my friend who came in for lunch today. They were so attentive, caring and kind. I learned they’ve been in business for 49 years ! And John uses his mothers recipes from when he was a boy. Food was so delicious, I’m so full !

I grew up on Long Island but now live out of state. My husband and I came back to the Island to see my step mom who had just had a stroke. She was in the hospital just down the street from Fratelli's. It had been a long day, and frankly not a good one. My step mom was not doing well. When we found Fratelli's, it was late. We just wanted to a slice of pizza and get to our hotel. When we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly. They sat us in the back where they had all been eating, as it was close to closing time for them. They took our order, and we began conversing. We told them why we were in town. They showed compassion and care, in addition to serving the best pizza we had had in a very long time! As we sat in the dining room with them, it felt like family. It was comfortable. Not only was the food fantastic, the atmosphere was almost like being home. I don't get to Long Island very much anymore, but that visit reminded me that Long Islanders are good people, people who care about others. The owners of this pizza parlor (as we used to call these little family-owned restaurants) know how to treat people. They serve you good tasting food with care. Thank you to the owners and those working that day. It has been a little over a year since that night, but I still think about our experience at a little family-owned pizza place in Bayshore, Long Island.

Best pizza place on Long Island and that’s saying a lot because I am very picky with pizza. They spend the money on good cheese so you don’t get that extremely greasy pizza. Better than any chain pizzeria on Long Island. I drive 35-40 minutes just for their pizza. Their garlic knots are top tier as well! Great people running this business. I cannot recommend enough.

I have been a customer for the past 4 years. Everything on the menu is freshly made. Their pizza beats any pizza you will find here all the way to the end of Manhattan and I've tried it all. They strive for perfection. My own mom who is a picky Italian fell in love with their eggplant Parmesan with spaghetti on the side which features their own sauce on top. Rice balls are to die for. I never have a problem with the bill because I know I'm being served with fresh quality food straight from Italian recipes.

Looks like your everyday pizza place but when you step inside you will see families sharing laughs while eating authentic dishes. The best homemade soups that I sometimes that’s all I go for. Still a delicious slice and the classic dishes you crave. Staff is so kind as well.

Excellent food and service. Very good staff, they never get it wrong. The pizza and pizzeria staples are very good, and the dishes are especially good. Chicken dishes are always very tender, never dry. My particular favorite is the Alfredo dishes. All Italian restaurants have Alfredo sauce, but Fratelli's is one of the best I have ever had. Flavorful, not overly rich and the Bowtie pasta with chicken and broccoli with Alfredo sauce is something I could eat every day. They also have half-orders available on their pasta dishes which is nice because sometimes you just don't want a super huge meal, and you have less waste and leftovers while enjoying a lesser price.

I strongly suggest not buying gift cards here to give to relatives or friends because when you go to use them, their whole demeanor changes. They are visibly displeased. I have been there many times without a gift card for takeout, I have ordered delivery and gone for sit down meals. I have always been courteous to every staff member and tip well. I was ordering take out and I was using a Fratelli gift card for this takeout meal. Their faces dropped and they seemed annoyed. I ordered a piece of cake which they took out of their display case and the cake was very stale and the filling had soured. It may have been done to show their disdain or it was carelessness. Either way I work hard for my money and I will not spend it their anymore.

I got a eggplant dinner and chicken hero to go. The bill was $42.00 for 1 piece of chicken and plenty of bread. Will not be back.
