Had an excellent experience at Bulevar Mexican Kitchen. Maizi, our server, was engaging and helpful with items we were interested in. The Hielo Mezcal drink was small but extremely powerful and tasty. I was doubtful on the queso with herb refried black beans, but one bite and all doubts were erased. This is an excellent queso. Our favorite appetizer was the Tostado Aquachile with a jalapeño cucumber broth. They were out of tostados, even to the surprise of Maizi. However, even with chips this is amazing. It features shrimp, lots of avocado, and of course the broth; which we kept to spoon over our entrees. We also had the salad Verde, which is plentiful and which we both enjoyed. For our entrees we had the snapper and halibut. The fish were fresh, flaky, and flavorful. The chocolate cake was good and definitely can put you in a chocolate coma. We wanted the tiramasu cheesecake, unfortunately they were out. We will definitely return and need to sit on the patio for the view next time.
STACY, The bartender was AWSOME!!! And my margarita was GREAT! As well as my CARNA ASADA, I will be back not only for the food SHE”s HOT!!! Theirs another bartender RICKY who’s you can’t miss …
We have been here quite a few times and it’s always fantastic! Every one of the employees is caring and attentive, and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Both the food and drinks are flavorful and unexpected without being overly inventive, where I still want to take my parents. Highly recommend for out-of-Texas guests! If it’s not too hot, I recommend the patio, since the view is lovely! Also, the duck, papas fritas, and happy hour are great, and don’t feel weird taking your kids, they are super accommodating and kind, even though it’s an elevated dining experience.
We visited to celebrate our anniversary after hearing so many great things about the food and views and quickly realized why it’s so highly recommended! The smell of the wood fire hits you as soon as you walk up, setting the tone and really getting you excited for the entire experience you're about have. The space is beautiful, and the patio offers incredible views! Plus the patio has coverage and heaters, so no biggie if it rains! The hostess greeted us right away, and Mariah, our server, was attentive and truly thoughtful throughout the night with great recommendations and surprises. The food was outstanding! Honestly, probably some of THE BEST we've enjoyed in Austin! The happy hour machete was MASSIVE, perfectly crispy and cheesy with an addicting side crema that I saved to use in case I wanted to pair with other food items, it was that good. I'm typically not a huge mole person so I was hesitant on ordering anything with it, but heard they were known for their 800 day aged mole. I asked if it was possibly to try a small amount to see if that would be something we'd enjoy and she brought out a sample to try and WOW! They do a savory style mole and it is JAW DROPPING! Creamy, luscious and definitely worth ordering! This is coming from someone who is not a mole person, well at least the sweet kind of mole. Now I know theres a better one out there! While I couldn't get over how incredible the mole was, we were dying to try their carne asada and the venison chops that they had on the menu, especially since you don't see venison often. The carne asada was well cooked and flavorful and came with a super cheesy chile relleno. but the venison double chops completely stole the show—exceptional tenderness, flavor, and execution. Their margaritas were excellent, especially the fact that you could make them spicy with their house-made pepper mix, where you can really taste the fresh jalapeños. They surprised us with a champagne toast and anniversary sweets (Fresh feeling strawberry ice cream and shortbread buttery confetti type cookies) that made the night feel extra special. We did follow that with a chocolate cake, that didn't feel like it would put you in a sugar coma and had a cherry guajillo puree that gave it a little spiced kick. Absolutely worth the drive and already on our list to return—especially for brunch and one of their mole dishes! They are a must stop in Austin!
Beautiful experience! Went for a celebratory birthday lunch and everything was wonderful. The bone marrow was well balanced and the best Ive ever had, and the elk was perfectly tender. I honestly had a hard time deciding which dish was my favorite. Spicy margarita has a pepper puree that is delicious and not too spicy/bitter, and the guava gin cocktail (not sure the name) was a very pleasant surprise. Fantastic views, even on a cloudy day! Cannot wait to go back.
Great view of the hills on the covered outdoor patio, overhead and space heaters to mitigate any outdoor chill. 24 oz steak cooked perfect medium rare, best migas in town. Pleasant professional staff. Chefs with great skills. Casual friendly vibe. Was spontaneous visit when the restaurant next door was closed, but, I am glad it was, I will be eating here again !
Sunday brunch was comfortable and delicious at Bulevar! Everything we tried was uniquely complex and delightful. Our server, Hunter, was knowledgeable and made it his goal that everyone was completely satisfied. The GM, Chad, also ensured that we were all well taken care of. The atmosphere was peaceful, comfortable, and had a wonderful smell of a wood burning stove. The dishes were reasonably priced. We're looking forward to returning and sitting in the patio area as the temperatures drop and taking advantage of the wonderful view over the hill country.
My husband made reservations at Bulevar for our 14th year anniversary and it was definitely a pleasant surprise! We absolutely love ATX Cocina so he went with the sister restaurant and it did not disappoint. As you walk in, you’re quickly greeted by the hostess. He was so sweet and congratulated us for our 14 years together! It was such a nice touch! I noticed the bar was poppin and there were many tables occupied. It looked like a vibe! Very modern Mexican feel. There’s a huge portrait of Zoro on one of the walls which was so cool! We were seated on the lower level to the right side of the restaurant. It was dim and had the perfect romantic feel. Once we sat we noticed it was kinda loud in there for a Thursday night. We still could have a conversation without feeling like we were yelling over each other. I will say that area has something wrong with the lighting as the dimness would change and the lights would softly flicker throughout the whole time we were there. We met Grant, our server, and instantly knew we would be in great hands! He was so attentive and always came around at the right time. He made some amazing recommendations and was so personable! We started with the Caesar salad as we love their salad at ATX Cocina! It was just as good!! Big portion and had the Parmesan crunch topping we love! The lettuce was made of baby leaves and it was crisp and refreshing. Every bite was flavorful! We finished it all! We ordered some of their chicken & pork starter tacos which come 3 in an order! They were so delicious and fulfilling. We also ordered their chile relleno, which is on the secret menu. It is vegetarian so no protein but it was also very fulfilling. We did not have any room for an entree and we were not mad at all. Hubby ordered their blood orange frozen mezcal and on the first sip he was blown away! He could taste the smoky mezcal and knew he had to take it easy with it. It will definitely hit you! They brought us some delicious Nutella ice-cream accompanied by the sweetest signed letter of all of the staff congratulating us for our 14 years together! The Nutella ice cream had pecans in it and a sugar cookie. The perfect combination! We couldn’t resist the churros so we ordered them. It comes with some cajeta and chocolate dip on the side. They are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. I did think it had a little too much cinnamon sugar but nothing a few taps couldn’t take off. It was the perfect ending to our meal. We will definitely be back as we really enjoyed it! Parking is much easier than ATX Cocina and the food is just as good! They do have a couple of TV’s by the bar. We highly recommend Bulevar!!
Delacey is a wonderful person and did a great job helping me out with gf and df. My friend and I checked out the happy hour and I was not disappointed in grilled and seemingly flash deep fried sable fish tacos of the day. The ingredients were fresh and foodie. The ambiance had a lot of details and was very clean. Lots of seating and high ceilings. Thanks!
If I could give this place a 10 I would! Went there on Monday night to celebrate out anniversary and our server, Evan was great! He was very knowledgeable about the menu (food and drinks). We took all of his recommendations from cocktails to dessert, and we were not disappointed. We sat outside and the view and ambiance were great. We will definitely go back because I would love to try some of the things we didn’t try! 😊
Although we showed up without a reservation and was advised it would be a 2 hour wait, we immediately found seats at the bar. Service was exceptional. Food was fast yet full of flavor. We were overly satisfied by the freshness, the spice level and the portion sizes. The street corn was a highlight with the smokey sauce and the cheese covered onions in the relleno was a delight.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the overall atmosphere. I would highly recommend making a reservation beforehand. Just a heads-up that the side dishes are quite generous and easily shareable, and the margaritas definitely pack a punch! We had the pleasure of trying the duck enmoladas, carne asada, and pollo asado, all of which were delicious.
Beautiful venue with attentive wait staff makes for a lovely evening. The portions are large and are well suited to sharing. We had a larger party (10) and opted to order many of the entrees to pass. (Only disappointment was the wet-aged steak which didn’t arrive until well after everything else was done.) Dessert flan was very dense and was more pudding than a light custard.
Plenty of seating inside and outside at the restaurant. Recommend making a reservation beforehand. We sat outside in a covered patio situation and it was very nice, overlooking parts of the green belt. The drinks were good, they have their own spicy marg mix so definitely more flavors added. Food wise, all the dishes came in good portions and good flavors, prices were def $$$ but really good ingredients and big portions for your meal. With the adequate space it's a good spot for groups or families. Parking can be annoying unless you prefer valet parking. Highly recommend the carne asada and seasonal dessert.
💥🤯100 % Authentic Mexican Food Great service ! Supper delicious I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bulevar Mexican Kitchen in Austin, TX, and it was an exceptional experience. 🌮 The restaurant offers authentic Mexican cuisine, with dishes crafted from scratch using heirloom corn sourced from Mexican family farms. 🌽 The ambiance is vibrant and inviting, featuring tall ceilings, expansive glass windows, and a patio that offers stunning views of the Austin sunset. 🌅 The service was outstanding; the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a memorable dining experience. 👏 A highlight of the evening was being personally attended to by Chef Kevin Taylor, whose passion for Mexican cuisine is evident in every dish. 🍽️ I highly recommend Bulevar Mexican Kitchen for an authentic and delightful Mexican dining experience in Austin! 🌟
We went for brunch, and it was great. The sauce was flavorful without being overly salty, and the French-pressed coffee was enjoyable. Their muffins were well-balanced—not too sweet. The atmosphere, with its high ceilings and breezy vibe, added to the experience. I’ll definitely consider coming back for dinner to see how it compares!
We’ve now visited this restaurant twice, and both times we’ve been impressed by the sophisticated take on Mexican cuisine—the food is extremely delicious and the ambience is warm and inviting. However, we’ve experienced significant delays with the main course on both visits. The first time, we ordered steak and waited over 30 minutes after finishing our appetizer. We decided to give it another try because the food is truly worth it, and this time ordered fish—yet again, the main course was very delayed. We’re not sure if there’s a gap in how the kitchen processes main course orders after appetizers, but it seems like a recurring issue. We really want to keep coming back, and we’re hopeful that management might be able to address this. The experience would be absolutely perfect if the timing could match the quality of the food.
Food is absolutely amazing. Service is so hit or miss. First time - they literally had to comp your main courses because we waited 45 minutes btwn appetizer and it finally arriving 🥲😂 with 4 young kids with us too. Food was so good though… We’ve been about 6 times now and truly, you never know what you’re gonna get service wise — but I had received a nice sized gift card at Christmas to go here so it at least gave us a chance to go a couple more times before writing it off. Our latest go we did have a good server… the time before that the service was so bad — forgetting our drinks completely, food coming out so slowly, never checking on us so we could tell him these issues, & it seems like stealing as well… The only reason we even came again after the previous bad service is bc of the gift card having enough to cover another meal. Then after paying with the card at this last go, it only had $15 left on it. The previous server had used a majority of the card to tip himself extra. We knew it was weird bc when we paid the time before, the server tried to just not bring the card back to us and brought us a receipt that had no tip area - like it was a “final” receipt. We asked for the card back as well as a receipt to be able to leave a tip and it was so awkward and took him a while. We should have asked for the balance on it… anyways, so disappointed and sad! Again: food is great, but the hiring dept could definitely use some help. That was the final straw for us. Which says a lot because the flan is unmatched!
Edited review 7 months apart: I had a wonderful time dining at Bulevar with a couple of friends back in March 2025. The ambiance is gorgeous and they had complimentary valet on that day. We decided to do a family-style dinner and ordered about 7 dishes, including the hamachi and chicken skewers; all delicious. I went back recently for my graduation dinner in December and it was just okay. The chicken entree was the star of the night and the duck tetela app was very tasty. The Caesar salad is a very large portion which was good to share. We sent the Tuna Tostadas back because something tasted off. Everything else was okay but nothing really memorable, unfortunately.
Was looking forward to trying this place however overall it was disappointing. Personally I think it’s very expensive, the staff were so rushed and made very little personal contact. The atmosphere seemed to match this, the Empanadas had a nice light crispy non greasy outside however the flavour didn’t live up to expectations. I won’t be back.
Was expecting something out of this world because of how the items were priced on the menu. Our party felt the three dishes we ordered had very similar flavor profiles, it almost felt like they used slightly different versions of the same mayo for the sauces that accompanied them. On the positive side, the ambience was beautiful and service was good.
This place is ok, the food is nice but nothing extraordinary. We ordered 2 drinks we’re expecting more or better flavor but they were ok. Good portions of alcohol in them though. The service started really strong and after we ordered our waiter was nowhere to be found. Saw people sitting and ordering after us getting their food and finishing eating and we’re were still waiting in the food. Food took over an hour to come out. Then once done we also waited around 10 minutes for the waiter to come even though the place was empty already. She was busy cleaning empty tables instead of checking on us. First and last time sadly. Despite that, the restaurant is beautiful and the view is awesome.
