Opinions de La Doncella de la Costa Badalona
A very pleasant place in every way. The first thing to highlight is the service and professionalism of the staff and the cleanliness of everything: the glasses are spotless, the tablecloths are white, etc. The food is exquisite and of very good quality; the price is in line with what you get. It's a bit high, but on both occasions we've been there, we've been very happy. The black rice is highly recommended, and there's plenty of it. The dining room with sea views is very pleasant; so far, we've only been there. It's very well organized because if you want a table with a view, there are bookings. In short, it's a place where I get the feeling they care about making sure things run smoothly, and that's appreciated these days.
La Doncella Restaurant in Badalona is a great choice. The waiters were excellent, attentive, and friendly; they even brought us some candles to celebrate a birthday, a very special touch. The value is ideal, and the views are unbeatable. The rice dishes stand out for their flavor and quality; highly recommended. Definitely a place to return to.
If you're looking for a place with excellent food, impeccable service, and stunning views, this is definitely the place... It's a beach club where you can swim, then you have to change into street clothes; swimsuits or wet clothes are not allowed in the restaurant. If you prefer something more casual, there's a beach bar-style restaurant on the same premises where you can sit and eat in beachwear. I definitely recommend this place!
We were three people there last Saturday. The atmosphere is beautiful. We ordered crystal bread with tomato and mushroom croquettes as starters, and the croquettes were so good that we ordered another round before the rice arrived. I regret not taking a photo of the croquettes, but they were so good that there wasn't enough time. The rice was delicious, the flavor was perfect, and there was no ink taste at all, everything was well prepared. The service was great. It was sunny, and we were on the upper terrace, and we really enjoyed the sun and the ocean waves in the background. Thanks to the wonderful people who served us and treated us so well.
We ate at the glass-enclosed restaurant by the sea, and well, the location is perfect. The service was excellent, friendly, and very professional. Valentina served us and she was fantastic. She gave us recommendations, was efficient in everything, very approachable, and very kind. The food was delicious too. A great place to celebrate a birthday
A unique experience. We were on the terrace overlooking the beach. The place is huge and has a great reputation. We went to see what it was like. The young man who served us was very professional, efficient, and friendly. He knew the entire menu perfectly and gave us excellent recommendations. We could say the same about the wines. They have a very varied menu with different paellas to choose from, and they also have daily specials, some of which are seasonal and only available for a short time. We tried one of them, and it was absolutely delicious. It's worth visiting places like this not only for the beautiful setting and the excellent service, but also to enjoy a great menu featuring local cuisine and high-quality ingredients. It's truly recommendable. I wouldn't miss the opportunity to visit it at least once.
Wonderful sea views! We went for lunch on a Saturday (there was no menu, it was all à la carte) and we really liked it. SPACE: The dining room has beautiful sea views. We were very comfortable, and the service was super friendly and attentive. We booked from 1 to 3 p.m. They serve in shifts (at least on Saturdays). FOOD: We shared calamari, tuna and tomato salad, and then each of us had a fideuá. Everything was very good, but the fideuá was delicious, generous in quantity and very tasty. The aioli was a bit overcooked, which we loved. PRICE: We paid €97 for two people, including a starter per person, fideuá, bread with tomato, soft drinks, water, and coffee. Although it's a bit high, I think the price-quality ratio is reasonable for what we ate.
La Donzella de la Costa is undoubtedly a charming spot for those who love Mediterranean cuisine with a taste of the sea. Its menu focuses on locally sourced products—fish, shellfish, and rice dishes—with its seafood paella being a particular highlight: a traditional version that combines prawns, langoustines, and baby squid in perfectly cooked rice, which many locals in Badalona consider the best in the city. The ambiance is part of the charm: whether in the dining room with its large windows or on the terrace overlooking the sand, the views of the Mediterranean Sea add an extra touch of magic. That sea breeze, combined with such a carefully curated menu, makes dining there feel like a mini-vacation without leaving Catalonia. In short: a quality menu, outstanding paella, and a privileged view of the sea—a sure bet for enjoying the essence of the Mediterranean.
Reception of customers a little slow. Spectacular terrace space, sea views and a very cozy corner with the bathing huts. Steamed mussels with rosemary, delicious, we didn't even have time to take a photo. Fideuà soaked with monkfish and prawns, finger-licking delicious. For dessert, lemon pie, correct. There was no chocolate mousse left. But the best of all and what makes us value the experience is how excellent the service is. Incredible attention from Washington, an added value to the terrace. We will definitely be back, we have many dishes left to try.
They have a weekly menu inside; à la carte dining is available on the terraces only. Very good food and service. We'll definitely be back 🤤
The place is beautiful, the large windows allow you to eat with incredible views of the sea. Super attentive, friendly and fast staff. The rice donzella was delicious, as were the starters we ordered, especially the chicken croquettes!
Incredible food and views. I've been there about four times, and it's always a pleasure to return. For me, it's my favorite place to go with friends in Badalona.
Spectacular food, service, and location
A time-tested spot. With a privileged location facing the sea. The views are breathtaking. Open year-round. Recently renovated. The place is comfortable, spacious, and elegant. It has an interior and a terrace. The service is impeccable, with excellent management. The attention to detail is top-notch. The gastronomic offering is up to par. Stay tuned for their live music.
Exquisite service, the paella was delicious. We ate in a very spacious dining room with comfortable tables and sea views. It must be stunning at night. Highly recommend it.
Enjoyed the typical sea food ...
Okay Tuna tataki with seaweed and tariyake sauce
Place, food and service very good
A full 5 without a doubt!! Both in the restaurant (inside) and at the beach bar (outdoor tables and some on the sand itself), the food is excellent, and the service is always excellent. Special mention to the "Donzella" rice, the calamari, and the tarte tatin (delicious!) @c_mestres
A great restaurant. Good views, good light, high-quality fish/seafood food and good service. Just be aware if you go there by car that it is difficult to park nearby
The rice was delicious. We ate on the upstairs terrace and it was wonderful.
A very pretty place. We enjoyed the sunny terrace, a delight. Fish from the market is recommended; it's delicious.
Spectacular! The food, the atmosphere, the service. Everything is 100% top-notch!
Very good place, beautiful, very tasteful.
Recommended place, I went in the second shift and the assigned table had a view of the beach. Large table and very correct and fast service. One of the best paellas I have ever eaten.
A group of 10 of us were there the weekend of the King's Basketball Tournament, and I was expecting slow service. Not at all. They were incredibly efficient and attentive, and the food was spectacular. The beach views were amazing.
One of the most luxurious restaurants in Badalona. The interior area with panoramic windows is ideal for winter. The upstairs terrace, ideal for summer, has glass windows that protect you from the wind. Dishes I recommend are the mussels a la marinière, the black rice paella, and the cheesecake or the white chocolate ingot with cheese.
Incredible!!! 4 adults and 1 child ate on the upstairs terrace, and the location was spectacular with incredible views of the sea. We ate terrible pan de cristal, olives, Andalusian-style calamari, and chicken croquettes, and everything was delicious. Then came the paella, which was perfectly flavored and cooked to perfection. The desserts and coffee were also very good. And best of all, the service from the waiter. His name was Luis on the ticket. Very friendly and attentive.
If you want to eat a good paella with a taste of the sea, starters, desserts, good quality, the service of ten, the charm of a maid💞
A lovely place!! The food was very good quality and we had excellent service from Luis, the waiter assigned to our table.
I highly recommend the steamed mussels; they're the best I've ever had. The food is quite good, and the portions are generous. The prawn salad was small, which is the only negative point of my experience at La Donzella. The service is excellent—super attentive and friendly (you'll be delighted if Luis serves you!). I 100% recommend it for a pleasant meal.
Spectacular! The restaurant is beautiful, and you have sea views from every table. It's very spacious with large tables. The food is delicious, and the value for money is excellent. We ordered fideuà and "la donzella" rice, and they were incredibly tasty and perfectly cooked. I also recommend the red prawn croquettes. The desserts were also very good. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive—a 10 out of 10 for them!
Highly recommended! We had the tuna and avocado tartar, the Andalusian-style calamari, and the octopus leg for main courses, all accompanied by a bottle of Alta Alella white wine. Ismael provided extraordinary service. He was attentive, helpful, friendly, and had a fantastically positive energy. He was super cool.
Very good service, food, and views. Excellent
Great restaurant with lots of seating options. Terrace, inside, down by the sand… All of them with great sea views. Food is great, with an extense menu with meet, fish, vegetables and rice options. Go there for a nice paella or seeafood rice enjoyed in the terrace. You can stay later for drinks in a fancy atmosphere. Nice walk by the sea as you get there.
We ordered paella, black rice, and tapas. Everything was delicious. The desserts were fantastic. The wine they recommended was perfect.
Very nice place and excellent food! We'll be back!
Ideal place for parties and celebrations. We will be back!
Good service and good quality. Recommended 💯%
Great quality and unbeatable service. The price is a little more expensive than other places, but it's reasonable, as the quality of the fish is evident from the first bite. The waiters are attentive to your needs at all times and make you feel like you're in a 5-star restaurant.
The food was excellent and the service was excellent.
Spectacular lunch menu
It's a wonderful place. It has several spaces to enjoy a spectacular lunch or dinner right on the beach. First and my favorite, the "Beach" restaurant, which allows you to eat paella literally with your feet in the sand. Then, there's a seafood dining room, great for the hottest summer days. And finally, upstairs, an elegant, retro-style dining room where you can enjoy fantastic views on the coldest winter days. The staff is charming and friendly, always attentive to ensure you have everything you need. It's always packed, and that says a lot! Finally, let's talk about the food... OMG!!! They always leave me speechless! You know what? You'll almost want to try it and tell me. ;)
A picturesque place where the owner himself comes to your table and asks how satisfied you are. If you want to drink your wine on the beach, the waitress will come out to you and refill it. Unfortunately I haven't eaten anything now. But what I could see on other people's tables looked very tasty. Just the view with a good wine is all you need.
Everything was great!!!
We went for a private event and everything was great.
Marta served us and her attention was spectacular. We went as a family and the service was excellent. The food was perfect. We will return!!
Everything was delicious and the service was good!
Beachfront restaurant. The terrace is wonderful, and the indoor dining room is also very nice. Very friendly service. During the week, they offer a set menu (except for the terrace) at a very good price. The food is very good and carefully prepared. The best thing is the rice. The menu prices are high, but the location and views are spectacular. Highly recommended.
The food is top-notch, with very good quality. The price (which may seem steep) is paid for the quality of each dish, so in my opinion, it's a more than reasonable price. The desserts are very elaborate. The service is very attentive and very well organized, also top-notch. My congratulations to everyone: chefs, waiters, management, etc. The location is perfect. If you want to surprise someone with a good meal right on the beach, this is the ideal place.
Spectacular sea views from the table and great value for money! I especially want to highlight Alexis's friendliness. We'll be back soon!
If you have the chance, don't miss this place. The rice is top-notch and the fidegua is unforgettable. The ceviche is perfect. Highly recommended. But make a reservation!
A beachy spot to forget about the week. Holiday atmosphere.
Beautiful place
The paella was very good. We ordered the paella de la doncella, and paella negre. Both very good..
Quality food in a historic location. It feels like you're dining in the middle of the sea. On top of that, we enjoyed a full moon night.
Good option for paella on the terrace, a good secret in Badalona
A new discovery with lots of charm, I'll be back!
Excel·lent food! Incredible food! Strongly recommend black rice!
Everything was very good
Yesterday I ate at this restaurant for the first time, and it was great. A 10. The restaurant is wonderful, the views spectacular, and there's plenty of space between tables. The food is delicious. The paella is excellent. The service is very attentive. We'll be back!
Very good idea, a little expensive
Spectacular quality and speed. After finishing the meal, we took a stroll along the beach.
Great views and excellent food. The soupy rice and the octopus were particularly noteworthy.
Everything was very good, and the establishment is clean and neat. The red wine was delicious and so was the wine.
The best restaurant I've been eating at for years, service and price are 10/10!
Everything was delicious. Waiter Guille was friendly, kind, and a true professional. We'll keep coming back...😉
High quality food, with fish and seafood of the day. Very professional waiters, with great care in cases of intolerances or allergies of any diner. Perfect location with sea views.
Delicious dishes with a spectacular ocean view! I highly recommend it!
Sooo good, very nice place, especially the squids are good!😋😋
Excellent restaurant during the pandemic, because it has a terrace, a fantastic beachfront terrace. It's gastronomically good and offers excellent service.
Very good, good place, very comfortable, well served and good quality
A very decent restaurant located in Badalona. A seaside restaurant. The ambiance was perfect. The food options were very good. You can easily find dishes to suit all tastes. You can definitely choose this place for dinner with a sea view. The staff were very friendly, smiling, and efficient. They fulfilled all our requests promptly. The food was very good. We preferred the fish and lamb. You should definitely try the desserts. I recommend making a reservation in advance. This way, you might have the chance to sit at a table with a sea view. If you are looking for a decent, quality restaurant, don't hesitate to try this place. Enjoy!
Despite not being able to book online, they saved us a table, which was appreciated. For starters, we shared mussels, shrimp salad, and Sevillian calamari, and for main course, paella and wild fish (sea bass). Everything was quite good, although I missed something to give it 5 stars. We'll be back, and I highly recommend it.
We ate on the terrace, and the place and service were excellent. The starters were also good, but the rice dish was a disappointment. We ordered the "Arroz la Doncella" (La Doncella Rice), and it lacked flavor; the seafood was overcooked and dry. €104 without dessert or wine seems a bit pricey. Smoking is prohibited, even on the terrace. We had a pleasant time, but we won't be back.
A beautiful place to eat, truly spectacular. The food is good, which is what you'd expect from a place of this quality. The rice wasn't bad, but I expected a little more from the rice that bears its name. I should add that they could offer to make coffee at another table if it's already 3 o'clock, and not bring the check and squeeze you...
I haven't been there for a long time, my family in Badalona have all been dying and I don't come there anymore, today was an extraordinary memory
Today we ate on the terrace. The waiters were exquisite. The paella was very good, although the rice was a little undercooked and the portions were just right. The steamed mussels were delicious, with a smoky touch I'd never tasted before. And the best part was the views 💞 ___________________________________________ 2018. A good place to go for dinner as a couple, but only if you're willing to shell out a few euros. The restaurant is right on the beach, and although at night you can only see the sand and a bit of water at the shore, it adds a romantic touch. In my case, we tried the cheese board, oxtail croquettes, and lobster rice soup. For dessert, apple tarte tatin with lemon thyme. All very good.
I didn't eat there because it was packed, which is a sign that people eat well, but as soon as I can, I'm going to try it.
My first time at this iconic restaurant; naturally, we went on a recommendation. I recommend eating on the terrace overlooking the sea and trying the prawn croquettes, steamed mussels, and one of the rice dishes. The desserts were very good.
Good place for dinner, although I'll tell you it's not cheap, but we ate very well, the fideuà was very good.
Good food, quality product too, to put a but we ordered rice broth with Cantabrian lobster, it was good although the amount of rice was not abundant.
It's a charming restaurant on the beach. There's a more formal, upstairs indoor dining area with beautiful views of the beach. It has a great atmosphere and is ideal for summer nights. I've been there more than once, and everything I've tried has been delicious. It has an open area right on the beach, perfect for al fresco dining, with live music whenever I've been. And a small terrace with seating and a bar for cocktails! I'll be back!
Good place for celebrations, efficient and friendly table service, good food: delicious starters, paella, cake and dessert. With the possibility of bathing afterwards and with changing cabins, like the ones in the past. A success!
Nice environment, good view.
The food was all good and of high quality and good service. And spectacular views of the beach.
Very good place, good service, although I expected a bit more from the quality of the paella given the restaurant's standard.
Without a doubt, the best thing is the views and the service. The food is really good, the paella is just right, but the price is a bit high. But as I mentioned, the views are spectacular.
For me, a well-kept space right in front of the sea where you feel comfortable when eating, well attended to by the staff....they make the fish rice delicious!! ...WE WILL BE BACK!!!
A restaurant with a very pleasant and peaceful atmosphere. The mushroom croquettes are very good. The black rice and fideuá are quite delicious, and the aioli is very tasty. The sea views are beautiful, and the waiters are very friendly.
The food is good, but it's expensive for the quality. Plus, you can't order more than two rice dishes per table because they won't let you. This was a disappointment for us because there were five of us and we wanted two rice dishes and a fideuá, and they told us it was a maximum of two.
The rice is very good.
Attentive and friendly service, an extensive menu, especially the rice dishes. Ample portions and great flavor. The gold ingot dessert was a pleasant surprise, with creamy cheesecake covered in white chocolate and cereal nuggets. A must-try again right on the seafront.
The place is spectacular, overlooking the beach... I recommend any rice or paella. However, with the lamb, I ended up on the bone. It was a small amount for the price and not at all succulent.
Charming restaurant that preserves the old bathhouses. Delicious paella and tapas.
We went there on Sunday. Idyllic place, we were on the terrace upstairs. Oysters, squid and cockles for starters, spectacular. Rice of maiden as a second course, very good and good quantities. Very good value for money. The service was spectacular, Luis took great care of us. Highly recommended!
An unbeatable location, we savored delicious shrimp croquettes and a "Donzella"-style paella overlooking the sea. The fried artichoke slices are also highly recommended.
Everything was delicious. We ordered the shrimp and anchovy croquettes, black rice, and fideuá! We loved everything; the experience was great.
Restaurant on the beach with 3 dining rooms, one air-conditioned inside, one on the beach is airy but noisy and another on the beach on the sand (consider the hottest days). Quality food, service a bit slow and expensive, although the location is excellent. Few menu options for children. It's the same menu, so they end up eating some tapas or move on to normal dishes (paella, fideuada...). Lunches are in shifts, at 13.00 or 15.00 so if you go on the first shift, you may have to leave the table free at 15.00 (if they are full) and not be able to enjoy a table. At 15.00 outside they often play live music.
Live Music Stand-up Comedy Lunch Dinner Cocktails Gin And Beach...
Very nice and original place. The right food, specialising in rice and fish
The sea view is perfect.
The place is authentic, the food is very good, the service could be improved.
Right on the beach, varied menu and good service, slightly overpriced
They have improved the service and the times it takes to bring the dishes. The food is very worth it. It is also worth taking advantage of the €20 menu they do during the week. They have opened a new terrace where it is great apart from the other three environments that were already there. The food is as always quite good. Vegetarian options such as vegetable rice and vegan fideuà and the typical cep mushrooms. That is also great. The service is always a bit slow. I guess they don't have to pay them much. Even so, whenever I can, I will repeat :)
Very good food
The menu (20€) is good, if you settle for water. A cane, a glass of wine and a coffee and we're at 30€...it must be because of the views.
We went for a company lunch as a small group, but the experience wasn't the best. The food was great, but the service was lacking. They threw a tray full of glasses next to us and didn't even bother to apologize or offer any kind of compensation (despite two diners having stained backs and feet covered in broken glass). Even though only four or five tables were occupied, it was quite noisy. There's a lot of room for improvement in a place with a great location and very good quality food.
The restaurant is beautiful, the service is excellent, and the views are fantastic. We ordered arroz senyoret, which none of us liked. It was very dry and a bit hard. You can leave soupy rice dishes like that because they continue to cook between taking them out of the oven and bringing them to the table, preventing them from overcooking. That's probably the correct way to serve rice, but I don't like it that way; I prefer it creamier.
We went for lunch as a group of five. We ordered three starters to share and two rice dishes. We thought it was a bit cheap that when we ordered bread, they gave us four pieces (again, there were five of us), so we asked for an extra piece of bread and were told no. The croquettes were very good but cold. We ordered the black rice and the rice la donzella, both highly recommended. We ordered a second bottle of wine, but they forgot. The prices for the starters were a bit steep, but hey, you're paying for the restaurant's location.
A place with a view, located right on a beach. We ate there; it was my first time. We shared some mussels à la marinière, which were good. I also ordered a salad with avocado 🥑, tomato 🍅, cashews, and anchovies. They brought me a plate with: lots of lettuce, cucumber, onion, two pieces of avocado, half an anchovy, and diced tomato and apple. When I told the waiter, he said, "Those who come regularly already know what this dish is like." It's not their manners. My husband also ordered pesol del Maresme with cocochas (a type of porridge), and he said, "Good!"
Excellent location, great service, and decently flavored rice dishes. Surprisingly fast service with the rice dishes. We ordered one with seafood and one with vegetables. The vegetable one was better and deserves special attention.
A bit pricey, but the location is worth it. Ideal for celebrations. The worst part: parking is impossible, especially in summer.
I had lunch last week at the A la Carte, good but the rice was not exceptional for the price we paid. Correct service, the terrace a fantastic place, but at a high price
Perhaps I had too much expectations about the place, but I did not left it superexited. No doubt that the location is amazing, it is right on the beach (they have actuall a private beach!), so if you get a good table you get amazing views. They have 3 different spaces: (1) right on the beach ina pure chiringuito style with your feet in the sand, (2) the first fllor with a nice and modern mediterranean style with stonishing views and few round and big tables (I love them!) and (3) the ground floor, with a bit too basic deco that makes it feel more a garage rather than a restaurant -it has also views over the sea, bit it is not as cool as the floor above-. I was in the groundfloor and I admit it is one of the reasons for the lower score, but not only. Food was also dissapointing: first frustrarion was that they only had half the dishes in the menu -at least none of the ones we were willing to taste-, so our choices were limited. We managed to order though. Tapas were ok, yet too much difference between the good ones (fried calamari) or the not-that-good (chicken croequettes). Main course -parlla la Donzell- was also average: good enough but nothing to highlight. Price was on the medium-high end. Illustration: paella la Donzella for 21€/person Labels: 2Eat #mediterranean #tapas #paella #groups #terrace #views
We ordered the Donzella rice and it was a disappointment; the mussels were overcooked and dry, and the rice only tasted like sautéed vegetables. For starters, we ordered tuna tartare, which was nothing special either; the bread with tomato was even better. The quality/price ratio isn't worth it considering we paid €40 per person.
If you want a good photo, this is the place. However, if you want good food, this isn't it... we ordered a "rice a la maiden" (rice with rice), and it was quite plain. It was also a Friday, and they told us "there's no menu" (I guess they saw our tourist face). Would I go back? NEVER!!! Super overrated. You'll spend a lot of money, and the food isn't great.
A beautiful terrace right on the beach in Badalona. A nice atmosphere and a pretty good meal. Too bad the prices are too high for off-the-menu items... which ruin an experience that could have been fantastic A year later we return to La Donzella and see that the portions have been reduced in size and that the service does not provide a good experience for diners... the tourist overcrowding and its effects: when everything is sold out, neither quality nor service nor price matters. Bad way.
Beachfront restaurant, ridiculously expensive!!! I think the price is exorbitant, especially considering the quality. They seated us in the downstairs lounge, which was packed, so crowded you couldn't even hear a conversation. There were ten of us, and they charged us €20 per person for a plate of rice and €13 per plate of calamari. The salads were ridiculously small for sharing, and the cocktails left much to be desired. The mojitos were made with cheap rum, white sugar, and no Angostura bitters... I certainly won't be going back, nor will I recommend it.
Today we ate at the La Doncella beach bar in Badalona. We ordered octopus fideuà, and it tasted like nothing; it was like eating plastic. €26 per plate wasted, a rip-off. They took the plates away without touching them because they were inedible. Those who ordered rice needed another 10 minutes of cooking time; the rice was hard, but it had some flavor. We won't be back. It's not worth paying for the place if the food isn't good. The price-quality ratio is poor.
The food was fine, until a worm appeared in the desserts, and on top of that the waiters' attitude was indifferent.
Determined to go by the reviews which turned out to be completely misleading.... We sit down and immediately sense the professionalism of the very numerous waiting staff equipped with radios and headphones as if we were in the Pentagon!! The waiter offers us a paella "for two people" which is even special with prawns which he says are almost alive...excited by the prospect we wait...the appetizer arrives: discount calamari and four pieces of bread stained with tomato...but the highlight is the famous paella (see photo): barely two hundred grams of indefinably burned rice with these poor prawns pinned in the middle, dead in times unchecked and in a suspicious freezer...Disappointed we ask for the bill which was very salty, so salty it's laughable. That said, avoiding it is the choice to make, especially if you love yourselves. Greetings to all!!
