This place is the best awesome food and great staff been coming here for years and the quality has never changed great portions great flavor you definitely get your money's worth

We have gone to this place for years. Their burgers are what you should expect. Their fries are really good and same with their zucchini. If you're not sure about which burger to get try the california avocado burger or if buying for a family you can't beat the family pack deal. Their ranch dressing is homemade and worth it as well.

We arrived at 9m on Friday night. You could tell the staff was preparing for closing when we walked in. We were greeted by 2 different employees with a friendly hello and they genuinely seemed happy that we came in. The food was hot, fresh and quite fast. The restaurant was well cared for and very clean. The prices were very fair considering prices for everything have risen so much lately.

Made to order affordable delicious food. The customer service is amazing, as soon as you walk in you are treated with a smile. 10/10 for food and customer service. Because of this my family is a regular here. Highly recommend :)

We Suggest you try them if you've never done so! Hidden Gem for sure, a Huge Plus...The Staff were Super Attentive and Very Friendly!! That's a Rarity these days 😃

Love this place!! Everyone is always friendly, food is good, fair prices, and clean. Had one of their employees I hadn't seen here before help me and my interaction with her is still in my mind a week later. Her name is Hayley and she was super sweet, suggested an upsell, gave me my order quickly, and went the extra mile to make me feel appreciated. I ate my food there and during my meal, she stopped at my table and asked how everything was and offered to refill my drink for me. When I was done eating, she told me not to worry about my tray and came back to my table and took my tray for me. No one has done that for me here before and it was very appreciated. And as usual, my meal was hot, tasty, and filling. I've always loved golden ox and now it's my favorite.

Really good breakfast spot, friendly atmosphere and tasty food and constant supply of coffee what more could you want. You will love it too. Did I mention the price that's awesome as well, so you can enjoy breakfast with the family at a good price busy on Sundays.

Golden ox is a great American cross section of American and Mexican food. I personally enjoy their breakfast the best but I haven't had anything bad there. They have great customer service and great prices. As you sit and eat you know the food is good because of taste and watching customers continue to roll in the door back to back one behind the other.

It had been many years since I visited the Golden Ox at this location. And I was not disappointed by returning. Ordered the Colossal combo and a side of fried mushrooms. Portions are very big enough to feed two people with one order. The restaurant was kept very clean service was great.

I’ve been coming here for about five years now. The food here has always been very delicious and made when you order not sitting on a counter or refrigerator for who knows how long. I pass by this place every day (cause I live down the st) but I’ve never stopped by because for whatever reason the sign didn’t peak my interest but today, today I was passing by about to go to taco loco but I was like “eh what the heck let’s try this place out” I’m so glad I did! I had no idea I was sleeping on such a great spot to eat!!! I love that the inside of the restaurant has a very 90’s feel it reminds me of going out to eat with my parents when I was a kid & the food OMG BEST BURRITO IN BAKERSFIELD!! I just found my new regular spot🫶🏼 moral of the story is don’t sleep on the golden ox 🐂

Reminds me of the Tams locations from Los Angeles, which my family liked to go and grab the weekend dinner. I like that they have a lot on the menu, though I haven't tasted everything, we had burgers and the kids had chicken tenders. All around very good. Burgers were a decent size and with fresh ingredients, the fries were crispy and well-seasoned. Didn't taste the kids stuff but they didn't leave any leftovers so I assume they like it. I think the only problem for some would be the price, we paid $55 for a family of 4. But everything is expensive for food. Overall a great dinner.

Got a western ox burger, came out quick, patties were hot and juicy and the burger was wrapped nice, none of the sauce all over the place BS. Overall a great burger, and some good ol fashioned customer service.

This is a favorite of my family. It has been for years. The food is always fresh and delicious. There portions are generous and the staff is friendly. The picture below is the steak tostada salad. It is big enough to feed 2. I would also highly recommend the chili verde, tuna melt, and the fried mushrooms.

Been coming here since I was 10 (16 years ago) Always have to come here when I visit from Houston. The burgers are always awesome and consistent! The fries are cooked perfectly and also have the best seasoning! The owners are awesome people as well as the staff! This burger will always be in my #1 top burgers! I wish they had one in Houston TX!

Great selection of menu items and the food tastes great! Reminds me of a burger place I used to go to as a kid. I took visiting family members here and they were not disappointed. They also said it reminded them of our favorite burger place when we were growing up.

Food is great. It's sad that a Mexican place has the best Gyros in town. Servings are large, prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, they usually have a vile, hateful, racist channel (FoxNews) on, but last two visits have been blissfully free from white supremacist propaganda!

Love this place, been coming here since I was very little and I'm in my mid 20s now and carrying on the tradition with my kids. But please please please look into better drink carriers. If one more almost $4 soda falls through another drink carrier it'll be my 13th reason. Me and my kids would be appreciative of that.

I ordered a BLTA combo. When I got to the window to pay. The guy gave me a small drink. I told him is this the size that comes with a combo meal? I looked at him confused because I would of been ok with a medium drink. He said yes. I'm like ok. It looked like a kids meal drink. Anyways, the fries were not seasoned at all and my BLTA was pretty good. They just need to upgrade their drinks to medium for combo meals. Especially when you'll easily pay over $13.00 for a combo meal.

Last time I was here my food was so bland. I ordered biscuits and gravy but ended up with tan hockey pucks covered in a packet of lazily prepped country gravy. The staff is very nice food used to be very good but suddenly the quality went way down

I was shocked by how much the prices went up on there combos. At theses prices im surprised they are still in business. Also did they change their Ranch recipe 🤔, it tasted very bland.

The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the service was decent. Employees were nice. I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito ($12), and it was the absolute worst breakfast burrito. I took about 3 bites and threw the rest out. It was more potatoe than anything. And the potatoe felt squishy. All 3 large bites I took tasted like bland, squishy, potatoe. I personally won't be visiting this restaurant for breakfast again.

Food is good but not amazing. The french fries have been too soft for my liking, but the portion size is nice at least. It's rather expensive for the meals and there's an upcharge for using a debit card, getting extra sauce, or even a side of ranch, and it's almost $1 for each of those. The nickel and dime charges when I'm already paying $29 for two gyro combos is pretty stingy.

Burger and fries are pretty good here. They have a pineapple drink that’s also really good. Except last time I ordered the same drink and received something old and expired. Immediately when I tried it I knew something wasn’t right so I decided to open the lid and there it was a brown expired pineapple drink. I called and management said he was running the pineapple drink and it was bright yellow for him. Then he asked if I could drive back for another drink or if I was calling just to let them know? I was not going to drive back in traffic with two screaming babies that were hungry. Nor was I just calling to let them know. Later that night my husband went to a different restaurant that also serves the pineapple drink and as you can see there’s a huge difference in freshness.

Old fries (stale), chili (think and salty), and cheese (moldy). Spent $8 ($5.99 chili fries, they charge extra for cheese, tax and they charge extra to pay with a card). Ranch / Thousand island dressing $0.80 each. Didn't get any. The cashier was nice when placing phone order (that's why 2 stars). Won't be coming back. Can't find good chili cheese fries in the central valley.

Went thru drive thru and girl at speaker $17. 69 at the window said $19.69. Girls added on their own Tip! That's ghetto! I ordered 1 Chile Verde burrito and a short stack. Ain't no dadgum $19.69! I don't mind tipping, but don't take it upon yourself! And no receipt of course! I should have called her on her BS!

The owner said give me veteran discount next time cashier said no veteran discount. Food was good except greasy and gave me cheese on my burger when explicitely asked no cheese. It was to go and after 4 miles one way, im not wasting gas on bad service.

People where friendly area was clean i give them that much. The cooks looks and taste like they lost their passion in food if it wasnt to salty it was just a mouth full of grease. Bacon sit while cooks other food cook kids meals together so nuggets is way to salty even kid dont want to eat. Once upon a time Golden ox used to have passion in their food now its hot mess. What happen?

When you put burning hot food in a foam container, it melts the foam and makes your food taste like burnt plastic. It’s not rocket science, use better to go boxes. I’d come here everyday if it wasn’t for the extremely high risk of stomach cancer.

Been a customer for years without complaints. Make sure your food is prepared properly before you leave the drive through. Upon getting home, I find they left out the beans from my order. I had to drive back in the heat wasting more gas to pick up missing beans. No free drink or coupon for troubles. Just the item THEY left out and an apology. Also, they charge you to use credit card. Thus, total will be more when paying by card. Don't know if I'll frequent it as often. If ever.

Came to get a pastrami combo and this is what you can expect to get for $20.51. How is this acceptable. You pay so much and get such a small sandwich with less meat. I remember these pastrami’s at least at other places being piled high with meat. This was almost like a slider and the fries barely filled the bag. Last time I come here and I used to frequent this place quite often.

I've been a frequent customer for years.. and today they were not willing to wait for my husband to arrive and pay for meal. I agree that Carmen lady has a hideous attitude. Golden ox doesn't know how to take care of there customers. They have just lost another customer. By the way carmen gave me a nick name THE PROBLEN LADY! Whats wrong with requesting your meals to b done correctly not how ever they want them.

First time coming here and never coming back .! They have a huge line in drive and apparently no change that’s crazy. Lady in the front has the worst costumer service.

Waitress started to sweep dirt in our direction and when we asked them to stop they refused saying that they were going to get in trouble if they dont. So they continued to throw dirt in our direction.... So like any other human being I asked for my money back because we didn't even get to eat our food nor did we want to!! It was disgusting who wants to eat dirt in their meal!! They refused our refund and threatened to call the cops. Wow!!

Went in and ordered a cheese burger combo when I was getting my drink I happened to look up I noticed the cook grab a precooked patty from a pan.I told him if that was my hamburger he thinks I'm going to eat he can give my money back he grabbed the patty from the fire put it back in the pan where he got it from and cooked me a fresh one beware what they are cooking it could be from lunch time

What a horrible experience. They overcharged me and when I pointed it out the cashier was very rude. I was refunded the difference. Got home and checked my food...the fries were undercooked and very greasy. The burger was cold and overloaded with lettuce. I will never recommend them to anyone.

My family has been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. My mother and her husband went 2-3 times a week. After he passed she still continued to go at least 2-3 times a month. Today my mother found a hair in her food, she spoke to two people about it. The first girl was newer and just threw the bowl of fruit away. The other person she talked to had been there for years and offered her a refund only to come back and say she could not refund it because the first girl lied and said that my mother had eaten almost all of it. The fruit was still piled above the top of the bowl. So, because their employee chose to lie, and they chose to believe that lie over a customer that has never complained or sent something back in the 25+ years she has gone there regularly, they just lost my familys business. It may seem small, but if they continue doing this to others they will lose more customers. I hope they catch the girl in a lie before she causes a lot of harm to their business.

Bought 2 breakfast burritos it was so dry and it teasted like if the hash brown was cooked long time ago and it teasted horrible. That place is going down hill. Price is high and quality is not all there. They use to be the best in town but no more.

We purchased a burger combo and a taco plate from here today and my significant other said the burger was ok. I was eating my taco plate and went to take a bite out of one of the tacos and some of the meat fell out which was fine until I saw something MOVING! A freaking ant/caterpillar looking bug, no ideas what it was but it was definitely moving! Definitely spit out the bite and threw it all away. Scared I accidentally ate some of its friends.. 🤢

Took 20 min for two small shakes. Order took place around 1:50. For lg fries lg soda two small shakes new shift comes in at 2pm otde still not placed final someone says was that two lg shakes I say no two small then the wait begins. Didn’t listen to instruction and living more than 15 minutes away they can’t do anything unless I drive all the way back to replace it or refund it. I’ve never had this experience with any other restaurant it was disturbing. I go to order a couple site orders for my kids and part of the menu was not in the bag once the kids got home. I went to call them And they told me to come in to replace the cheese sticks that were missing. When I pulled up to the window a guy came up to who probably owned the place or managed it and told me that I need to have a talk with my children about be dishonest and that it’s ruining their business because of their dishonesty.$3.50 cheese sticks. it was so horrifying because I had to call my kids to see if they were lying as they were showing me the bag there was nothing in it. This guy still told me my kids are being dishonest. I will never return to that place again and highly recommend that nobody Go to that place

Absolutely won’t go here EVER again. I ordered my wife chili cheese fries and there was long dark hair inside of it. Not just one but multiple pieces of hair. So if you like long black hairs in your food. Go to golden ox on white lane. They got what you need. The manager didn’t even refund my whole order. He only gave me the 5 dollars back for the chili cheese fries. Even though we all threw our food away after my wife choked on hair. 11/15/2019

Use to be a favorite but today ruined that I ordered my food on the phone 11:48 am and after tell my order was immediately hung up on. There was no telling of how long it would take or if I wanted to pay. I then proceeded to pick some stuff then arrived at Golden Ox to pick my Meal about 12:10. I paid for food and waited figure food would have been ready but waited then 12:40 hit and yet still waiting for food I then asked why my food was not ready upon arrival. They responded with well you need to pay on phone before they make your food. Which is weird cause have ordered before on phone and didn’t pay and food was ready. They responded with that morning rules not afternoon rules so sorry and walked away from me I was upset and embarrassed in front of other customers. So Sad to see such bad service at a place I loved. I will make sure to let everyone and anyone I know to avoid because of this

I experience was alright, my Husband's was not. My breakfast tortilla was really good, My husband got the taco plate and the tacos were good but he went to eat the beans and spit them out. He said these beans are cold, like took out of the refrigerator cold and not heated up at all then he checked out the rice it was barley warm. What gets me is that when I told staff about the problem, she just told me I'll look into that. Didn't ask any questions or try to remedy the problem. Will not go back there anymore. They are losing a long time customer.

Food is okay we never had a problem with the food. we like going here but I go through drive through every time hoping it’ll be a Little faster and it’s definitely not it’ll be 15 to 20 mins that I’m at the window waiting for my food! Super inconvenient for a drive through service.

Very upsetting that we came through drive thru on 3/ 5 ordered 9 nuggets and waited forever 30 mins plus bc the staff was just talking the whole time I finally got their attention when I honked wasn’t offered a refund or anything got home and my sons chicken was cold that’s how I know we were forgotten about get it together golden Ox… wasn’t offered anything for the inconvenience.

So today I went to buy a burger and as I was sitting there I saw this rude customer come in and just saying all kinds of stuff well...I know they say customer is always right but when your wrong your wrong.....well with that I saw in front of everyone the manager started yelling literally yelling at 2 female employees like their nothing, this is a horrible thing to see, especially when it looked like the customer was completely wrong, i would not want anyone yelling at my wife or my daughter and I feel no one has the right to yell at you the way he did in front of everyone, this made me lose my appetite and just leave in disgust, I will never go back again. Very upsetting. 😣😠 My husband after work, went to buy all the family food @Golden Oxs on White Lane Bakersfield ca, 93309 And spent $96.08! To get home and have gotten 2 of the 3 chicken Breast Combos not cooked well! And because it was late night I couldn't call to do the complain, which I will do tomorrow morning. But wanted to post this because it's very upsetting and annoying fast food places (restaurants) be giving food service with food not cooked right. Its not $30-$60 my husband spent😡 JUST NOTICED THE VIEDO DOESN'T WANT TO UPLOAD. ANY HOW I WILL TRY TO POST VID.
