Very nice place, beautiful. The porterhouse steak was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The fried greenbeans were a great match. I enjoyed the Hunters Punch cocktail and the carrot cake was very good, and huge! The service was polite and efficient. I pigged out and took half of it home, so it was actually 2 full meals for me.. a most excellent deal. I will definitely be back again. 5 stars.

While the prime rib was impeccable the ribs eye and New York strip were slightly overcooked and a bit too bland in comparison to other steak meals I had on this trip. I also wouldn’t recommend the cocktails. The place itself is beautiful though.

Husband and I happened upon this place during a stopover in Bakersfield. I used to work for The Hungry Hunter in San Diego many years ago and we thought, could this be the same, since most of them have closed. It was the same! The Prime Rib was exactly as we remember, many items on the menu are the same as nearly 40 years ago. Our server, Caleb, was very knowledgeable and attentive. Service was great prime rib was outstanding, broccoli cooked to perfection. Carrot cake was enough for 2-4 people, so share. It was a nostalgic experience for us both.

My husband & I came for dinner & luckily was able to get a spot at the bar since it was pretty busy & had a wait for dinner seating. There was a very nice young man behind the bar who was very attentive (give him a raise or promote him to bartender he was great) & told us there was Happy Hour going on so we got 2 shrimp cocktails (the HH menu is wonderful) & for dinner we had to get the "Best Prime Rib in Town"- 12oz. Prime Rib for the hubby w/ a 12 oz. Lobster tail add on & I got the 12oz. Maine Lobster Tail. They come with 2 sides & a soup or salad. The clam chowder was delicious & a heeping portion for the salad. We had a wonderful dinner. When in town, we will definitely be back.

Great Prime Rib ( I always ask waitress to add grill marks on med rare prime rib) tasty. This place has been around a long time and maintains everything as good as day one. Hamburger 🍔 gets A Rating Also their Honey Mustard Dressing on the spinach salad is award winning !!🏆

The parking was plenty as we went on a weekday. The atmosphere was nice with great decor. The waiting area is a bit on the small side. The interior is spacious and inviting. The server was amazing and very helpful. The food was excellent and cooked to order. The salad was made right in front of me with my choice of items. Then after the main meal they bring dessert out for you to visually help make a choice. We arrived a little before they closed but were not rushed to leave.

I get there for a 6:45 reservation with my husband who is in a wheelchair and has Parkinson’s, and two grown kids. I was told that the reservation only guarantees a table in the dining room not what time you get to eat!!!! This was the General Manager I was talking to!! We did not get a table until 7:35. By then my husband was exhausted he is ill. (I told the GM this and it made no difference) I have been here many times. Once at the table the waitress was good she even had the cook cut up my husbands steak as I asked. The food was great as always. The atmosphere was good except the put us in the middle of the restaurant it was very loud

Ok.. literally just left. Service was great, once we got some. Seated quickly, then sat there for about 15 minutes with nothing happening. Then our server May appeared, just as I was about to say screw it, we're out of here. She was a hard working young lady. My steak sandwich was cooked perfectly. The wife's burger was good, but they went over board on the onion strings. Had to ask for ketchup, and I wish happy hour counted in the dining room as well. But, in summary, yah I'd go back, but not in a huge hurry to do so.

The food is all right–portions lean from okay to small, but certain items are fantastic, like their lamb and bread (that's all, really). I would not recommend their appetizers as they are honestly quite small portion-wise and a bit basic for what you pay for. Their desserts are lacking and a bit stale or old tasting, weirdly. My points off are mostly for the long wait to get food. The service otherwise was great, but on a relatively slow night, it took a while for my party's entrees to come out. The waitstaff are nice and seem to do their best, and are attentive. The ambience is really what you go here for. This is great for Bakersfield, I guess, but it really could be a better experience with the time and food portions and quality. The portions are a letdown for the price and the food is not much to write home about.

This steakhouse was pretty tasty you just need to watch what you get because the portions are very small. I got the $55 holiday special, that comes with a shrimp cocktail with three shrimp and the cocktail was in a tiny ranch sauce cup which was actually very shocking to everyone lol I wish I had a photo of the tiny cup. My actual entrée was also very small, and the guest that my table that ordered the same thing. I did actually received larger amount more than I did I was expecting the steak to be small considering it was 7 ounces, but the pasta was also a very small serving in the photo. I actually only ate one piece of pasta, and one piece of steak after taking this photo which you can, obviously see I only ate one piece of Sacchetti pasta and a small corner of steak (sorry I didn’t get the full photo I was very hungry)And this meal also came with a dessert which was probably the best part but you can clearly see. There is a almost rotten strawberry on it. It definitely molded, but I just took it off. I wasn’t gonna be too much trouble, considering how long the wait was,. It also comes with a small Caesar salad, or a soup. I highly do not recommend ordering the holiday meal. Everyone else else’s meal was so much bigger and they paid less. It was advertised to make it seem as a lot, but unfortunately I left hungry and I am a small person. If you plan on making a reservation here. Make sure you have plenty of time as well. We arrived at five. We did not leave until about 730. It took over an hour to receive our Food, and over an hour to order. Overall, it was pretty good but I would not recommend the holiday meal. Like I said my whole party laughed at our plates the entire time lol

First time there and the last. Server was nice but forgot just about everything. Sat down and she took the cocktail menu away. Asked her to leave it. Asked questions about wine and didn't get answers until we asked again. She came back and asked what we wanted again. Ordered appetizer, it was good. Ordered pastrami reuben to split with sweet potato fries. I asked for ranch dressing and extra Russian dressing. Brought the food and left ranch and ketchup. Left so quickly, tried to get her attention to no avail. She never came to check until I was almost finished. She asked if everything was good and I told her no, that the sandwich didn't have much sauerkraut and she never brought the Russian dressing. For 2 of us, we had 1 appetizer and split a sandwich. We had 2 glasses of wine total. The bill was $58. First and last time.

I went there for The Prime Rib and it was delicious. The rest of the food was not even mediocre in my opinion. The shrimp came out over cooked and rubbery. It was taken back to bring me some more that needed to be deveined. I just gave up trying on the shrimp and took the loss on those too. I don't eat shrimp that has not been cleaned properly. The mushrooms I know came from a jar and not a good brand. The salad was bag salad with 2 grape tomatoes. The fried green beans were crispy hamburger stand quality. Oh lord please don't start me on the burnt overly sweet chicken wings. And I asked the waitress how they cooked the wings and she said fried crispy so I thought they would be plain delicious fried crispy wings with dipping sauce. NOPE not at all they were burnt sweet wings.The service was not good at all. A couple that came in after me got both their appetizers and food before me. I should have known because when I first walked in the restaurant the hostess looked at me as though I was an Alien. She told me I could find a seat in the bar area because dinning for dinner did not open until 5pm. I asked her if she could check to see if there was an empty table and she rolled her eyes and popped her lips. I then ask to see if the manager could find out and she became a little more helpful. She told me someone would be cleaning off a table for me and she never let me know when the table was cleaned I walked in the bar area and SHAZAMM there was a clean table. Then the waitress came and acted as tho she was offended by my presence. The first question she asked me was "had I been to the restaurant before". I let her know I had. Her total demeanor was just absolutely not welcoming. But she was very polite and helpful to the couple that was sitting next to me. The same couple that came in after me and was served their food before me. I would not recommend The Hungry Hunter. Oh yeah the restroom was nasty with an exposed sanitary product on the floor and trash receptacle overflowing with used paper towels. I remember when The Hungry Hunter restaurant was a great place for delicious clean prawns and steak for ALL people.
