Incredibile. Capitati quasi per sbaglio cercando un posto per pranzare prima di ripartire; la scelta migliore. Location unica, panorama con vista a dir poco suggestiva, menù ampio e ricco di specialità locali e servizio puntuale e preciso. Per chi, come me, apprezza la cucina toscana è ancora meglio! Sicuramente tornerò durante la mia prossima permanenza a Montepulciano.

I ragazzi sono giovani e appassionati, sempre pronti a consigliare piatti e vini. Consiglio di assaggiare il loro Nobile, forse uno dei migliori che io abbia bevuto. Prenotare prima di andare, è molto spesso pieno!

Ci siamo fermati all'osteria per un pranzo veloce. Piatti curati e deliziosi, vista meravigliosa dalla terrazza, protetta dal sole cocente di questi giorni. Ho pranzato quì con mio padre oggi e siamo stati trattati come principi! Grande accoglienza e preparazione sui vini locali ! Pici al ragù toscano e tagliata di manzo alle erbe aromatiche eccellenti, immancabile l'accompagnamento con un calice di buon vino Nobile di Montepulciano! E come disse Califano...non escludo il ritorno !

Pranzo piacevole con amici. Atmosfera più elegante rispetto alla classica osteria toscana, con una terrazza che offre una vista splendida sulla valle. Servizio veloce e piatti tipici ben realizzati, con menzione speciale per la pasta fatta in casa. Rapporto qualità-prezzo corretto, soprattutto considerando la posizione centrale a Montepulciano. Unica nota stonata: i cantucci, più simili ad amaretti, meglio orientarsi su altri dolci del menu. Consigliato!

la posizione centrale della struttura è sicuramente un punto a favore, la camera standard è molto bella, spaziosa e con un piccolo salottino sul soppalco. Abbiamo prenotato con qualche giorno di anticipo un tavolo in terrazza per cena il giorno di Ferragosto....che dire una bellissima esperienza. Staff gentile, cordiale , sorridente e preparato...per non parlare del padrone di casa .un vero spasso con la sua verve Toscana! Passiamo al cibo avevamo voglia di carne e si percepiva l'ottima qualità vedendo il menù; abbiamo scelto una tartare, fresca e preparata veramente con ingredienti locali, una tagliata alle erbe buonissima e un filetto cotto a mestiere, che si scioglieva in bocca e le porzioni super abbondanti.... vino eccellente consigliati dalla ragazza che ci ha servito ma la vera scoperta sono stati i dolci particolari e classici si sentiva che erano fatti in casa... proprio per questo alla fine abbiamo deciso di tornare anche a pranzo il giorno successivo per gustarci un ottimo primo piatto di pasta al tartufo e uno al ragù toscano pronti per rimontare in macchina e tornare verso casa... assolutamente consigliato per la qualità dei prodotti e l'ottimo servizio offerto.

Posto bellissimo, soprattutto nella terrazza posteriore all'ora del tramonto, ma molto carino anche all'interno e nella parte esterna sul davanti. Personale di sala simpaticissimo e gentilissimo. Il ragazzo che ci ha consigliato il vino da abbinare a ciò c'ha abbiamo ordinato ha azzeccato in pieno. Cibo buonissimo; si sente la bontà delle materie prime e la cura nel prepararle. Ottima cucina e spesa corretta per quanto detto sopra. Bravi!!

Stopped in for dinner and was able to get a table inside. We were in the off season but it sounds like a reservation would be recommended. It was the best meal we had in Montepulciano! The pumpkin appetizer was to die for as well as the rabbit.

We were lucky to get a table on the terrace at Osteria del Borgo, and from start to finish it was an unforgettable Tuscan dining experience. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the wine was superb — no surprise, as the owner is also part of the local wine club and proudly serves them all. Even the bread, served in a little brown bag, added a simple but authentic touch. I started with the mixed meat & cheese platter, and the highlight was the selection of aged pecorino, paired with the owner’s mother’s homemade jams. It was so outstanding that I ordered another plate of it - the combination has now set the gold standard for me. The pasta was beautifully homemade with the freshest ingredients, topped with truffle that was nothing short of a chef’s kiss. The tiramisu was completely and utterly superb. To finish, we were treated to espresso and limoncello on the house, a perfect ending. What made it even more special was the owner himself, a genuinely lovely man with whom we shared a real laugh and meaningful conversation. His passion for his food and heritage shines through. This meal truly opened my eyes to how special Tuscan cuisine is. I wish him and his business all the success and I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

We spent 9 days in Italy, trekking from Rome to Florence and Cattolica, with a stop in Montepulciano on day 3 for wine tasting a few doors down at DeRicci, then adjourned to Osteria Del Borgo for lunch. I had done extensive research before the trip, looking for the best places to eat, not just for the food, but the atmosphere and unique experiences, and I knew that their patio view was amazing. Imagine my excitement when we walked onto the patio and the waiter pointed us to the exact table I was hoping for! Besides the spectacular view, the food was fantastic and the service top notch, and we had food in front of us within 10 minutes of ordering. My wife had a salad that she said was absolutely amazing, and I had pasta carbonara, which checked another Italian food goal off my list. The bread and wine were also typically Italian-delicioso!

We had lunch at Osteria del Borgo in Montepulciano. The sun was intense even in early May, so we really appreciated their shaded outdoor seating area. We ordered the pici pasta with wild boar sauce and a risotto dish. Both were rich in flavor and paired beautifully with their local wine. We also had a Campari Spritz, which was perfectly balanced and refreshing. Service was friendly and efficient. Enjoying a delicious meal in the heart of medieval Montepulciano made for a truly memorable experience. We highly recommend this restaurant. *We were too busy to enjoy the dishes so we didn't take any pictures. They looked great, too.

This was our first stop in Italy, out of Rome. We were not disappointed! It was a perfect location in a quaint hilltop village. I had the fungi pasta and my spouse had a pomodoro -based pici dish. I also had a dopio espresso because I was so tired after the air travel from the West Coast. All were delicious and the waitet was very polite and friendly.

Il cibo è buono, niente da segnalare in negativo, ma neanche da ricordare con le lacrime agli occhi. Insomma, tutto ok. Peccato che l’ambiente venga venduto come “con vista terrazza”, ma nella realtà solo due tavolini riescono davvero ad affacciarsi. Gli altri? Vista muro, o se siete fortunati, schiena del tavolo accanto. La nota più stonata però è il caposala, che pare aver scambiato la sala per un campo d’addestramento. Rimproveri allo staff davanti ai clienti, toni alti, e un’aria tesa che nemmeno in una riunione di condominio. Peccato davvero, perché con un po’ più di discrezione (e qualche sorriso in più), il posto avrebbe tutte le carte per essere molto più piacevole.

Mi spiace scrivere questa recensione e lasciare solo 3 stelle perché i camerieri erano veramente gentilissimi e disponibili, anche per spiegare tutto per quanto riguardava il vino e per le nostre domande in generale. La location é molto molto carina, soprattutto la terrazza esterna sul retro, veramente romantica soprattutto al tramonto in queste giornate estive. Tutto bello… l’unica cosa che non ci è piaciuta sono i piatti. I pici alla carbonara non erano proprio nulla di che e, inoltre, non c’era quasi guanciale nella mia pasta, cosa che ha peggiorato il suo gusto perché sapeva solamente di panna e uovo… Le tagliatelle al tartufo, non valevano tutti i soldi che costavano e sapete anche voi perché… Ci spiace, saremmo stati davvero bene se non fosse che ci aspettavamo un qualcosina in più dai piatti (che comuqnue erano ben presentati)! Speriamo di poter tornare e modificare questa recensione, perché ve lo meritereste.

Beautiful setting with the terrace but we were really unimpressed with the food, and it was expensive for what it was - felt more of a tourist trap given all other diners were American. If you are looking for an authentic Italian experience we would not recommend.

Purtroppo, non conta solo il buon cibo! Nostro errore siamo stati a Montepulciano con bambino di 1 anno a seguito senza aver prenotato un ristorante, dopo aver chiesto disponibilità di un tavolo (ovviamente negata), abbiamo girato 1 ora e poi siamo tornati per chiedere quasi pregando un piatto di pasta a portar via per il bambino! Il proprietario (?) con grande maleducazione e scocciatura ce lo ha negato “basta siamo pieniii”, capisco la frustrazione però ci sono modi e maniere per rivolgersi ai clienti, ma soprattutto non ci sono modi per negare un piatto di pasta per un bambino che avremmo consumato in strada! We stopped by this restaurant for breakfast and were quite disappointed. For just three coffees and three small desserts, we were charged €20. No one spoke English, no receipt was given, and they only accepted cash. The whole experience felt unprofessional and left us with a bad impression.
