Excellent restaurant with a lovely selection. Ate there twice and on both occasions it was lovely. Our waitress was very friendly and recommended wine and desserts which were very nice. Food fresh and cooked to order, had a lovely atmosphere.

We arrived in Baveno without a reservation, hoping that an early dinner might earn us a seat. To our pleasant surprise, Posta welcomed us without hesitation. The service from the very start was calm, kind, and quietly efficient — a promising beginning. The bread arrived first. It was simple, fresh, and continually replenished. There's a €3 cover charge and €2 more for butter and olive oil, but the way the staff kept the table topped up made it feel more generous than transactional. We ordered a single portion of bruschetta — two slices — and without us asking, the waiter offered to have it split in the kitchen so we could each have a plate. It’s a small gesture, but one that stood out. After years of dining out, I’ve rarely seen that kind of thoughtfulness. The bruschetta itself was crisp, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. For our main courses, we had pork ribs, a welcome break from the steak-heavy week, and a generous macaroni dish with basil, pine nuts, and a cheese I couldn’t name but would happily eat again. The portions were more than ample, and the flavours were full and satisfying — rustic, confident cooking without the need for embellishment. Then came the moment that made the evening truly memorable. Hanging on one of the walls was a portrait of Bhagat Singh, the Indian revolutionary. It caught me completely off guard. Curious, I looked it up and discovered that Bhagat Singh had been deeply inspired by Italian revolutionary Giuseppe Mazzini, whose writings shaped Singh’s own thinking on nationalism and rebellion. That unexpected link — between India and Italy, between past and present — was quietly powerful. As someone of South Asian heritage, it felt like an invisible thread pulling two worlds together. In a town where I may have been the only brown visitor that day, that connection mattered. We left Posta full — not just in the stomach, but in spirit. It was more than just dinner. It was history, warmth, and good food — all under one roof.

Just had the most amazing spicy Spaghetti Carbonara here. Hands down the best pasta I've ever tried. Definitely come visit this place, while you're in Bervano!

Very nice local restaurant. You can find local twist to a well known dishes, like chickpeas flower gnocchi and local lake fish ravioli.

La direzione, ho osservato che tratta molto bene il suo personale Auguro a questo ristorante il successo meritato e lo consiglio Alcuni prezzi sono comunque giustificati sia da ottime materie prima sia con grammature superiori alla media Un suggerimento la bagna cauda l’avrei preferita servita nel coccio di terracotta con la candela piuttosto che nel padellino che si arriva all’ultimo boccone che si è raffreddata

Posto carino, ottimo cibo tipico del posto e ottimo servizio. Unica pecca: un po' troppo costoso, per un antipasto, 2 primi e un' acqua naturale ho speso 57€

Cibo buono e porzioni abbondanti, ampia disponibilità di posti. Una speciale nota di merito sul sevizio perché la cameriera giovane in particolare è stata molto attenta alle nostre esigenze alimentari, brava!

We were lucky to get a table without a reservation. They have a nice wine list with representation from different parts of Italy. Very good pasta dishes.

Lovely restaurant with terrace on one of the cobbled streets close to the lake side. Food was good quality and we were served with Italian humour. I had the steak in red wine sauce with potatoes. The meat was tender and cooked as requested. The sauce was slightly bitter to my taste.

Lovely food, especially the antipasti. The duck dish was cooked well but the sauce was over powering. Basil with the pana cotta might be considered too far by some.

Great place to grab a bite to eat at a reasonable price. The meat cannelloni was excellent, with a classic taste. The ravioli had a buttery taste, with an interesting combination of ricotta cheese and pears. I preferred the cannelloni. Would come back!

I’ve eaten here twice on different visits. The menu has flair and imagination and the food is very good. Good wine menu and the hosts can make helpful suggestions. The restaurant is energetic: it has three or four sections and gets very busy on weekend nights, so booking ahead is a good idea. The service is good, although the dishes may come out in an unusual sequence. But just go with the flow and enjoy the food.

Se non fosse per la pasta precotta avrei dato quattro stelle, la pasta precotta dimostra una scelta poco in linea con l' idea di cucina che ho. Mi ha dato l'idea di essere un ristorante per turisti, peccato perché il servizio, la cortesia e l'ambiente sono ottimi. Aspetterei volentieri 5-10 minuti in più per mangiare una pasta cotta nel modo giusto. Infondo siamo in Italia. I piatti che abbiamo assaggiato erano salati con salse sciape, consiglierei di assaggiare le varie preparazioni prima servirle.

The food was good but I expected more being in Italy. I had Ravioli and despite they were nice, there were not at all special and I was surprised to see only 7 Ravioli in the plate (a bit like Switzerland and not usual for Italy). The dessert “da un’idea di mio papà” was really special and very good. There was only one waitress in our area and that was too little: she was extremely good and professional. We had to wait a bit long for the Ravioli so that’s probably an issue with the kitchen.

Pranzo di Pasqua...... Porzioni scarse, insipide e senza gusto. Proprietaria addetta ai tavoli poco affabile e per niente disponibile. Richiesto del formaggio grattugiato nei maccheroni e fare un commento che non si usa poiché c'era il sugo di pesce ( come detto insapore) . Menù inviato per la prenotazione con il quale sembrava ci fossero più primi e secondi ed accorgersi che al tavolo il menù riportava che si doveva scegliere tra un primo ed un secondo, per non parlare del tris degli antipasti. Mangio meglio a casa mia.

Per il totale pagato ,(vedere scontrino)mi aspettavo di più soprattutto per la qualità del cibo.. Locale caro. Alla stessa cifra anche meno c'è sicuramente di meglio

Was here 15 years ago and it was amazing. Today its a very touristic restaurant. Got “not fresh” fish and they doubted me. Should tuna taste of old fish? No. They substituted with a fresh water fish which was acceptable. My son got pork ribs which normally is a delicatesse, it was not - Braised and then “dried dead” in the oven I assume. What a shame since the local farms makes good meat. Service screams, you can only laugh of it since service is suppose to be something that you should enjoy and also the reason that you pay for it!. Come on La Posta - Lets get back to the good old days where you were the best local restaurant🙏

Quite poor overall, pretty disappointed. I was there to have dinner after work. I was in uniform and the waitress/owner(?) have me really horrible looks and was not friendly. She asked us to leave her table at 8:25pm because she had a reservation there at 8:30pm! Meanwhile there were 4 open tables. I certainly won't recommend this to my clients and colleagues. Not to mention my €15 salad was small. A €3 coperto PLUS €2 for bread and olive oil? Choose another restaurant

I have never met more rude and inhospitable restaurateurs in my life. From the first to the last moment, extremely insulting! From the fact that the waitress stepped on my friend without even apologizing, to the fact that they wouldn't let my husband go to the toilet because they thought he was not a customer of the establishment. They insulted him and threatened to call the police. Otherwise, a poor menu and food that is simply "edible"...

Food is below average especially for Italy. The daily fish soup was tasteless. The worst we’ve ever had on our Italy and France holidays. So average, and highly doubt if the Google review points are real. Such a disappointment. Does not meet Italian restaurant standards.

Terrible and arrogant service destroyed this place for us! We had dinner here a few days ago and had a nice experience with good food, so wanted to go back. Sadly this evening we met an incredibly rude waiter. When I asked to order she had a very arrogant and almost angry attitude, and just let us sit there and wait. After more than 2 weeks vacation in Italy this is by far the worst service we have had. This person should not work in the service sector. She totally destroyed our impression of this restaurant, so we left.
