Opinions de Tacos La Bamba Beaumont
A great restaurant to stop by if you want good food that won’t break the bank. They’ve had great food and friendly staff every time I’ve been inside. It’s a hidden gem that I’ll definitely be going to again
Fantastic certified real tacos! The family was super nice and told us about $1 tacos and beer on Thursdays. They were cool with us moving tables too. Great experience!
I just absolutely love the food here! The employees are very friendly and inviting! The events they host are very fun and always a nice experience. The best authentic Mexican food in Beaumont
Delicious fresh tacos, chalupa, beans, corn etc and with friendly counter service! First Thursdays are always a blast with $1 tacos, DJ, band, video game trailer, entertainment, dancing troupes, exotic cars in fun family atmosphere! Most fun for your buck in downtown Beaumont by far! Come early or expect a long line, or even better, bring a lawn chair: people watching par excellence!
Great food! Terrific service! I should have asked about the murals on the walls as even the walls are fantastic.
The beef barbacoa tacos are SPECTACULAR. Very authentic, and delicious mexican food. I only had the tacos, but that is the star of the show. Simple interior decor, nice mural outside. The horchata was smooth and refreshing.
Great place for street tacos. They plenty of other stuff on the menu but the tacos are the best in town and have been for years. Very friendly staff.
Super cheap and the food never fails to satisfy. If you dont have much cash but want to get really full, this is the place to go. They also usually have an old movie on so you get some entertainment while you eat
Do you love tacos? Do you love amazing food? Would you fist fight a nun for some of the best tacos you have ever had? Then look no further and come check out Tacos La Bamba, and for the baller on a budget there is always dollar taco night.
Amazing food, amazing menu option, Best Elote in Beaumont. Their amazing prices make a meal affordable for anyone. If you want an amazing meal that won't break the bank this is where you need to go.
Food is awesome, but tacos are on the small side. Still a great atmosphere everyone is so nice and considerate. They just need bigger tacos and everything would be gravy!
Their chicken in the tortas is always savory and seasoned perfectly. The tortas are fresh as well as the avocado, lettuce and tomato!!! My husband enjoys their wet burritos and they're fast even during lunch rush!! Try them for yourselves!!
Very good and authentic Mexican food. I lived in Brownsville Texas for 2 years, right on the border. I never thought I would find real Mexican food in Beaumont. Barbacoa tacos were amazing!
Buenísimo! Delicious tacos and burritos with aguas frescas también. The green salsa is my personal fav. Appreciate the friendly staff every time we come in for lunch.
The food is AMAZING. And amazingly cheap for the quality, and portions. This burrito was roughly a pound and a half. i put the coke in the shot for a scale reference...it was literally almost twice the size, length and width. All for less than Five Bucks! Coke included. :) I HIGHLY recommend this place to all.
Best ceviche in SETX. Also, they catered an event for the Art Studio this past weekend. And although they sent MILLION tacos, even the non-meat ones were gone in about an hour. The staff is great, they are always friendly, and their food never fails.
One of my all time favorites! Been eating here for 10+ years and quality has always been amazing! Salsa verse is so great! Can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
The tacos here are a work of art, they look (and taste) even better than the pictures. The eggs in the breakfast taco were so FLUFFY!
Best Mexican food I have had since being here in SouthEast Texas. The tacos are amazing and actual tacos not the stupid TexMex junk with gross Velveeta cheese. The tacos at this place are really, really good!!! The service was friendly and quick too! I give this place an 11 out of 10 and three thumbs up!!!👍👍👍💯💯💯
Just a hit and run! Dropped by on a recommendation from a fellow yelper as a must try! We love Barbacoa, so I surprised my wife by bringing her some tacos!!! They were really great! I'll be back to try other things now!!!
Carlos and his girls are always smiling and in a great mood. Food is always great. He is always willing to help when help is needed. Thank you for helping us today with what Amanda and I were out doing today.
Best tacos in Beaumont Texas
Yeah absolutely love this place eat there at least 2 to 3 times a week. I wish I could get them to blend me up some fresh fruit drinks that would top it off with some pisco.
Great tacos and burritos, nice part of Calder good service and affordable. They haven’t been opening as early as they used too. 😞 I usually only come to Beaumont in the mornings. Really a great place to eat!!
Breakfast tacos very good.
Tacos are awesome I tried them just a week ago and have been back twice since then. Excited to try other things on the menu but I like the street tacos so much it will be awhile. If u haven't tried this place, what are you waiting for!
If you ever go to Beaumont, this place is a must. Tacos were so good I had to go back and bring some home with me
Gina and Ashley were so sweet! Food was amazing and the restaurant was so clean!!
Close to Old Town district of Beaumont, they use fresh ingredients, and make huge Burritos! Perfect for a half for lunch, half for supper deal! Authentic Tex Mex menu, they have been around for decades, used to rent Spanish VHS tapes thirty years ago or so! Now it is a hidden gem, on Calder street! Everything there looks good, but I have only tried the steak or chicken fajita meat burritos. Also their green and pink salsas are fresh, but can be spicy! Use just a little, until you figure out how much you want, to season your food!
Overall great experience. The food was VERY well priced, and well proportioned. We had the chicken and pork burritos and both of them were great. The staff was friendly, food was made quickly, and there was plenty of room for seating. Bathroom wasn't fantastic, parking lot was limited, and the decor/vibe could use some TLC.
Great food. Weekend hours change enough to be kind of confusing. For example, today (Sunday) Google says 11 AM open time. When we arrived, they said breakfast ended at 11 AM and that they open at 10 AM. A couple times, we’ve come on a weekend and they weren’t open at all. Still one of my favorites places for tacos, and that probably says everything you need to know about how good the food is.
came in this morning before my dr appointment, food was great, staff was so friendly and helpful and the atmosphere 10/10 I will be back !!
Love the street tacos 🌮 there the best 👌🏻 I try to go whenever I an in town. On the first Thursday of the month there is live music 🎶.
Whether you are just passing through Beaumont, or you are a local, this place deserves a visit from everyone, at least once. Tacos La Bamba is a great place to eat. No matter what you order on the menu, you will not be disappointed with your meal. Everything tastes great, and the flavor is very fresh. I can't say enough good things about them. For an average of $10 per person, you will get more then enough for one meal. Great food, great price, great people. Don't miss out, go today.
Authentic food for sure. We ordered for our team and everyone enjoyed it. Service was great and the food tasty. They do need to give more salsa with the orders. I had 8 tacos 2 quesadillas and 2 burritos and chips with only 3 small salsas to eat it all with.
First time here. Ordered the fried mojarra w/rice & beans for lunch. I enjoyed it. Love those flour tortillas. Friendly employees. Very clean inside. Only downside is limited parking. I'll definitely be back.
3 Tacos ‘Super’ carnitas pastor. So many elements creates a symphony of flavor. Big gulping Horchata. Easy enjoyable bike ride to this great local eatery. Comfortable and calm. =Peace=
Tried several tacos with all of the different meats, with onions, avocado and cheese. They all tasted fantastic, although they were small. Despite the small size, the prices are still good good. I would go back and eat again. During peak times may be hard to find parking.
Very good little joint. Tucked away in a quiet little area. Got the tacos perfect flavor.
Freaking amazing carne asada tacos. Workers were super nice and prices are phenomenal on taco Tuesday.
Great tacos, nice sauces for the tacos. The corn tortillas were way better than the flour tortillas. Cool spot, very clean!
Don't Miss This Hidden Gem! Tacos La Bamba is an absolute treasure tucked away on the corner of Calder and 4th Street. Its unassuming storefront is easy to miss, but trust me—it's worth seeking out. I was introduced by co-workers, and I'm so grateful I was! The woman at the counter was wonderfully friendly; when I mentioned it was my first time, she warmly told me I'd been missing out. And she was entirely right. As a barbacoa lover, I had to try it. I got it on both flour and corn tortillas, and it was incredibly flavorful and tender. I also made sure to sample their array of sauces. They have a great range from a tangy green salsa to a spicy red one, which ended up being my favorite. This first visit was fantastic, and I'm already looking forward to returning to work my way through the rest of their menu. Highly recommend Update: After several visits, the service has remained excellent, and the flavor and consistency of my tacos are still delicious.
We don’t live in Beaumont, but the 1st Thursday of every month we go to Tacos La Bamba. They have $1 street tacos starting at 5PM. They add additional seating and music outside. A mini festival! The food is authentic and very good. Be prepared to find parking elsewhere as it gets crowded fast.
Been a favorite ever since they opened. It's really good, fresh, authentic Mexican food.
Loved it! If a place has been in business for 27 years (as of the date of this review), they are doing something right. 😉 A hole in the wall appearance from outside but inside, the atmosphere is great. Friendly staff and vivid colorful interiors welcome you. You have to pre-order. I was there for lunch with a friend and we tried out Barbacoa Quesadilla and Chicken Tacos. The restaurant was kind enough to give us chips and salsa on the house. Much appreciated. Seems to be a popular spot. Quite a lot of people came in once we were seated. It's easy to miss if you are driving by, so you just have to keep an eye out.
This man, Carlos Zunia, the owner or Tacos La Bamba is an all inclusive, amazing, generous man. If you have not introduced yourself to him, DO IT. He give so much to his community and does not want to be in the light at all!!! He is totally behind the scenes. We will support and continue to support this place as long as Carlos is around for us to! Please help us support this local business owner!
Love this place! The breakfast burritos are huge and so freaking amazing! I usually get mine stuffed with everything (eggs, bacon, pico, potato, beans) just mouthwatering good every bite. Chris got the Menudo and absolutely fell in love with how authentic it is! We will for sure be back 10/10
Nice deco and excellent flavor, salsas are great. Our group tried different dishes and everyone loved. The mojarra frita (Fried fish) was cooked to perfection and the presentation was great. Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating and very reasonable prices. Even the picky eaters found something that they enjoyed.
Very clean and friendly. I don't speak Spanish and had no issues. Everyone spoke excellent English. The food was very good and is cooked fresh as you order it. Great breakfast spot too.
Always good food and nice people, sometimes they don't have things you order like avocado or the white cheese and they don't tell you till you get your order and tell them they forgot the item but the good food makes up for it.
Absolutely love this place! I’ve been out of town for a while and couldn’t wait to get some tacos. I normally don’t mind a small fee for something that I want. But when I checked on the law for debit card use versus cash fees for food, it is BANNED for these type of fees in Texas. Please have you’re management check on this. And this is only for Credit Card Purchases, if it weren’t band. Please see what I found online: Businesses are now allowed to charge checkout fees to customers who use Visa and MasterCard credit cards (NOT debit cards!), and may continue to surcharge Discover and American Express, who were not involved in the recent settlement. There are limits on what merchants can charge and conditions that merchants must meet in order to charge checkout fees — the next part of this article will explore these in depth. States Where Surcharging is Banned If your business operates in any of the 10 states (CO, CT, FL, KS, ME, MA, NY*, OK, TX) whose state laws prohibit surcharging, you may not charge checkout fees in that state. However, if you do business in multiple states, you may still surcharge credit card transactions in those states where the practice is not banned.
Parking is limited due to location. Atmosphere is very laid back. Not the place to go for a romantic dinner. BUT the food is very, very good. Authentic Mexican food. Definitely worth the trip for a good meal! I'll be back.
A little pricey for what I was looking for but definitely not unreasonable. Food did taste better than I was craving. Elote was a bit watery, but salsas, tacos, and quesadillas were incredible.
Great little taqueria with ice house atmosphere. Order at the counter and wait for them to call you when your order is filled. The last time I had such good Mecican fast food was in Austin. These folks know what they're doing with superior corn tortillas, tortas, quesadilla's and various specials including menudo, carne azada, & pozole, to name a few. Very friendly place as I've come to expect. The decor es FABULOSO! UPDATE: Today I stopped at Tacos La Bamba for Tacos & Trolelote to go. I specifically asked for plenty of cilantro and lime slices but no onions, because my lunch companion does not like onion. We both like cilantro, lime, and elote. I arrived at my friend's home to find only one slice of lime, and NO cilantro. What's up, guys?!!!
Was a little disappointed cuz they didn't have what I went there for and found out they didn't have a lot of stuff on the menu but ended up getting a burrito and omg it was huge and so good. And there prices are very cheap. If your looking for great food for nothing this is a great place to go. I'd say it's the best Mexican place in Beaumont.
Great food and great atmosphere although it's not that great that you have to order at the counter and can't get the food delivered to the table other than that amazing
We went in response to their $1 taco promotion. They have 5 meat choices. We tried them all. All were tasty. Drinks were expensive. Flour tortillas cost more than the corn. Didn't know that before. Service was excellent!
Great authentic Mexican food...my wife is from California and she said the Chili Relleno is better than home. Waitresses are always friendly and the beer is always cold! Great place!
Extremely small tacos, even for street tacos, and no guac or queso at a Tex-Mex restaurant were really my only complaints. Nice little spot, decent atmosphere, friendly staff, and pretty good food. Tacos La Bamba hits the nail on the head with decency, just never surpasses it.
The burrito special we had was okay. We got it all the way and I found that there was very little saltiness and flavor to it and the beef steak had a lot of grizzle. In other words the entire meal was quite bland. It barely satiated me. They are very generous with the amount of rice you will get in your burrito. The burrito was like 75% rice. The green sauce was spicy with a light green chili taste, no saltiness, the red sauce tasted flavorless and bitter and also had no saltiness to it. I will say it w asn't terrible, but definitely not somewhere we would go to for cravings. It was decent, unfortunately not memorable. The cashier was very polite. We did not get a receipt though we signed for the credit card payment.
Came here with family when we were on our way to Austin , the natural waters were terrible the tamarind didn’t have the taste neither did the horchata . We thought the waitress came to the table but after sitting for 5 mins we had to get back up and order at the front and also get the food in the front. The carne asada was awful very dry.
I read an article that reated this place #1 for Mexican food. They lied. This place is just like all the other Mexican food restaurants in the area. It's just regular food, nothing special. Walked in around 7:45 and there was a couple in there and myself. No wait staff. Had to order at counter. They didnt have what I wanted (chile relleno) and they limited my options to tacos, gorditas, and burritos. They have about six different Mexican beers, Mexican cola, aguas frescas, and your normal soft drinks. Again the food was.. Meh.. Nothing special at all. I'm wondering where the person that wrote the article had been eating before.. Geezuz. Don't bother turning on yoir GPS for it. I guess if you're around the area it's ok. 😐
I have been here a few times before and it was very good. Yesterday, I went for tacos and my order was wrong. To top it off, the meat in my tacos was dried out and hard. It also tasted old like it was left over from another day. I'm from San Diego, California so I know a good taco. This wasn't it.
Honestly overhyped, only reason it had good reviews is because of good marketing. Greasy food, inconsistent quality, hours, and cleanliness. The second time I went I heard the grown man owner screaming at what looked like to be a teenager loudly and in front of everyone. Disgusting and Embarrassing
Love the food, but who closes a restaraunt at 5:00 on a Saturday. Do you want to do business or not?
The chicken was overcooked & very dry. It was supposed to come with beans and rice & guacamole & sour cream, but, they were out of sour cream & they SAID they put the guacamole, beans & rice INSIDE THE BURRITO! IT WAS SO DRY! Very nasty! I gave one star because it wouldn't let me give a negative 5 stars. The only reason I would EVER have to go back would be to check out the table tops which are UNIQUE & each one is a one of a kind work of ART! Each table has been painted by a different artist with his/her own expression & artistic value. The tables are beautiful & beautifully done. I feasted my eyes upon the tables! Well, at least my eyes got fed! 😏
Got here with my grandparents and were received by a girl with great makeup and the other not so much. They took our order and I'm assuming they forgot to put it in or whatever. Another family comes in, gets their food before us. I'm wondering what's going on. Early I noticed another batch of employees (Three young girls and a child) kind of change shifts. We got screwed rip
They have officially just lost my business permanent. Menu online is very unclear, parking is a complete disaster zone, and a disabled old woman and her son were turned away for not having a mask even though literally NO ONE else in the store including employees had one. This place has truly gone down hill since I found it 5 years ago. It’s a damn shame to see it like this.
Drove across town to have some tasty tacos much to our surprise and demise they are closed. I wish I could review Google maps and give them a one star instead.
The tacos are tiny, and a bit pricey for that size. The flour tortillas were stale, and cold to boot. For an authentic Mexican restaurant you would think the flavors would be robust, but the meat seasoning is just mediocre. It's self serve, so if you have several plates you have take a couple of trips to the counter.
I came across this place through google search. Reviews were mighty high so I opted to give it a try. I'm not from the area but my husband landed in the ER at the local hospital here. This place was 0.9 miles from the hospital so it was perfect. The outside is super cool. I even thought what a cool place. I go in and the theme carried in. Nice, lots to look at. I was interested.now the food. That part was awful!! Legit everything I ordered was not available. Upon arriving at my destination I realized I didnt get the right thing. The food was gross. Maybe a cpl pieces of meat in the torta and. It contained more lettuce than anything. Dry. Meat unseasoned. Horrible. Hands down the worse mexican food I've ever encountered. Even taco bell could take this place down. Dont waste your money.
Wow! I love this place been going for years. My husband and I have showed up recently at 8:30 for breakfast and doors have been locked both times!!! The staff just stands there and doesn’t even open the door or answer the phone to tell you there not opening! Why I don’t know because there hours as stated are from 7 to whatever. Poor business
Ok …. so online hours need to be adjusted because I’ve attempted to come here 5 times already and it’s always closed even when their website states it’s open. It’s frustrating because they don’t even have hours on door and we haven’t been able to catch this place open for over a month. It’s like a hit or miss when it comes to their hours. PLEASE!!! PLEASE! Be considerate of your customers and at least give us a legit time of hours of operation.
Not sure has happened but, the quality and timelessness has greatly changed. I ordered two breakfast tacos and it took 23 mins. There wasn’t any chorizo, mostly an egg taco! I was given a refund but it’s close to home and really wish they would get it together soon. I don’t wanna go further away.
