Chef and his helpers were brilliant , my friend ordered and she didn't like it . He made her another meal and didn't charge. Be prepared to be in there for sometime but it's worth it . Had my friends 60th in there and they couldn't be more accommodating

Cosy restaurant with absolutely fantastic menu. All food was cooked fresh and tasted delicious. There's a choice of set menu or A la Carte. We were a group of 9 and had a mixture of pasta vegetarian and steaks. The service was exemplary and very accommodating to our needs. Also the house red wine was delicious and fabulous desserts. Cannot recommend this place enough for anyone who enjoys good food.

Nous nous sommes laissés guider par les très bons avis pour trouver ce restaurant et nous n'avons vraiment pas été déçus! Des plats vraiment excellents! Nous recommandons le poulet farcis aux épinards et au Roquefort, il est divin!! En tant que français ça fait vraiment plaisir de retrouver notre si bonne et généreuse gastronomie! Les gérants sont vraiment très accueillants et jovials, un vrai moment de bonheur passé en leur compagnie! Un passage obligé pendant votre séjour à Benidorm!

**Update** 2nd visit 13th June 2025. We were greeted by Fred and Marie, like we were old friends revisiting. For our menu choices:- Tom and Neil - 1st Cream of Tomato soup Mains - Tom - Fillet of pork Neil - Chicken breast stuffed with spinach Sweet - Tom - Tirimasu Neil - Lemon cheesecake Just wonderful service, food, and hosts who are very attentive, friendly and polite. Top marks to The Vagabond, we look forward to our next visit. My friend and I visited Monday 8th May. Tom and I both had a gorgeous Tomato and Stuffed Pepper Soup. A neat touch was a sample of the soup with crunchy rolls and garlic spread was presented. We both loved it!! For mains, Tom had Salmon, mashed potato and veg. I had chicken breast, peach sauce, mash and veg. Delightfully presented and piping hot. Run by a French couple who really know how to look after their customers, wise to book and make a reservation. We'd come here again, possibly September. Thank you very much.

We hebben een week in Benidorm gelogeerd en op diverse plekken uit eten geweest. Helaas hebben we , als vagebonden, dit unieke plekje pas de laatste avond ontdekt . Het was op alle vlakken het summum: fantastische service , heel lekker eten . Je kunt gewoon zelf je menu samen stellen . Heel prijselijk en aangename setting . Een ware topper ! Five of us went for dinner here on a quiet night in January. It was an excellent evening with great food, excellent service and great banter from Fred which made the evening complete. This was my first visit but definitely won’t be the last. As many have commented, the mussels were excellent as was the Chicken stuffed with prunes.

Very happy to have found The Vagabond. Lovely hosts and lovely food . A very charming place to eat on our last night . Be sure to come here at least once during any stay in Benidorm . It reminds me of a beautiful world that in some places is slipping out of view .

Visited last week with my girlfriend. We both agreed it was some of the best food we've ever had in any country. Really surpassed all expectations. The chef is a cool guy and made us feel comfortable and welcome.

For the last dinner of 2020 we went to the vagabond and what a good choice we did... We enjoyed of the ambient, excellent food and super lovely chef and service who made the place like a home. Great Food, Great Entertainment, Highlight of our trip! 5*. This restaurant is a little gem in the old town! We were a group of 5 couples, celebrating a 50th birthday and without knowing the resort, wanted somewhere for a special meal. Having scoured the TripAdvisor reviews, I came across this restaurant and was not disappointed! We booked via WhatsApp and the welcome we got from the proprietors Fred and Marie was lovely. They had decorated the restaurant with balloons, banners and table decorations, making it extra special for our birthday girl. On arrival Fred brought out a taster of their homemade soup and some bread and explained the menu options to us. Some went for the set menu which was €21.95, whilst most of us chose a Steak at a similar price. The menu is varied and caters for all tastes. We were spoiled for choice. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. What really made our night though, was Fred ! He entertained the whole group from start to finish. His personal touch and customer service is second to none. He even treated us to a free shot of choice (toffee vodka for me). We would all highly recommend a visit. Make sure you make a reservation as it’s a fairly small restaurant and you don't want to miss out!.

We all got perfect food the staff was lovely and very nice to dine with. Everything from the second we walked in felt like we were having dinner at home and Federico was the friendliest owner we've probably ever dined with the atmosphere in the restaurant is amazing. To sum it up tho everything on the menu is amazing and you must 100% try this restaurant when your here in benidorm

We had a fantastic evening at Vagabond in the Old Town last week. We were a large party of 13 who had prebooked in advance. Fred and Marie were great hosts and great fun. The food was delicious. We had a variety of dishes from the preset menu and all of us enjoyed the quality and taste of the food. We will be returning when we are back in Benidorm next year. Thank you Fred and Marie.

Went there in the evening really took us by surprise as although not many tables the welcome was great. The menu was extensive and all home cooked at a leisurely pace the owners are french and really enjoy their cooking good size portions at reasonable cost, no credit cards taken

This place was the best food we've had in Benidorm, and we've tried quite a few places over our last 2 visits. Excellent food quality and very generous portions. The staff were very patient and accommodating with 2 year old daughter, and the service in general was 2nd to none. We'll definitely come back on our next visit to Benidorm.

И вот вам мой откровенный словесный эскиз. Дом этот хоть и мал, да ладен. Внутри — не бог весть какие хоромы, но зато всё начисто, по-домашнему, без фокусов ресторанных. Обстановка простая, зато от сердца. Столы — как в гостях у доброй тётушки, у которой всегда вкусно и с душой. Персонал — старички, но какие! Пожилые, да бодрые, с видом добрых букинистов или бывших английских моряков. По-нашему не чают, зато по-английски щебечут, как лондонский клерк за чаем. Вежливы, внимательны, глянут на тебя — и словно всю подноготную вычитали. Что до кухни — тут, братцы, я вам без приукрас: домашняя, настоящая, не из тех, что на показ, а такая, какой по возвращении с базара ждал бы тебя горячий дух из материнской кастрюли. Мясо — нежное, со сковороды, не парное, но с душой зажаренное. Гарниры — простые, без мудрёности, но отборные. А главное — цены, скажу вам, почти что стыдливые! За качество-то такое в иных местах и втридорога берут, а здесь — по-людски, будто не к туристу, а к родному человеку обращаются. А уж как с ребёнком нашим обошлись — низкий поклон! Сказали про диету безглютеновую, так старичок-повар, весь в белом, сам вышел, кивнул понимающе и сказал, мол, «no problem». И не солгал — сделали всё, как просили: и макароны специальные сварили, и ни крошки опасной не допустили. Девочка ела — и глаза светились. Вышли мы на улицу сытые, довольные, с ощущением, будто не в ресторане были, а в гостях у старых добрых знакомцев, у которых — не бизнес, а миссия: накормить путника с теплом и уважением. Так что, коли занесёт вас в Бенидорм — не минуйте «The Vagabond». Не броский он, не модный — но настоящий. А за это я ему — твёрдые четыре с половиной звезды и добрую память.

A great place in the old town. Excellent menu with a variety of inventive dishes with a French flair. I had the fillet served with a mushroom sauce and fois gras. Simply sublime. The set menu is also varied and excellent value. Excellent hosts who visit the tables after service to chat to their patrons. A must visit.

Just returned home from a five night stay in Benidorm. We were half board at the hotel but always take a night off to visit a restaurant. Our initial choice was fully booked so I Googled steakhouses nearby and came up with The Vagabond. And what a find. We hadn’t booked but Marie showed us to a table for two (think it was the last table available). Marie explained the menu and pricing. My wife had the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce. She thought it was the best she’d ever had. I had chicken with pineapple and orange sauce; absolutely delicious. The desserts were gorgeous.At the end of the meal Marie treated us to a liqueur. With only six tables and a capacity for possibly twenty three people it gave off a very intimate feeling. We cannot praise the VB high enough and will visit again when back in Benidorm; but we’ll book in advance.🥇

Got to be the best restaurant in Benidorm. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Very well priced for the standard of food (in my opinion Michelin standard). Fred and Maria are fabulous! Not been for 6 years, but everything as I remember if not better than before. Would come on holiday to Benidorm just to have a meal there! EXQUISITE!!!

I would give six stars if I could the soup was the best soup I have ever tasted. The food was lovely and fresh. The staff went above and beyond the chef introduced himself. Such a nice atmosphere.

On a recent visit to Benidorm we were recomended to have a meal at this resteruant. The whole experience was 5 star. it was one of the best meals in my life. Truly a great enenings experience and i would truly advise any one visiting Benidorm to go for a meal there.

The Vagabond was probably one of the best restaurants I've been in in years. 4 of us hadn't reserved but fortunately, they had one table free. The owner and chef (Maria and Fred) were the friendliest people. Absolutely Michelin class food with the best service ever. We arrived as customers and left as family and can't wait to return.

I was invited to experience this excellent restaurant by a good friend of mine during a short stay in Benidorm. Without knowing about this wonderful place you will never get the fabulous experience I did. It was like being invited into Fred and Marie's house to experience personal hospitality. The menu is not extensive but what is on is perfect. Benidorm is not all loud music and weak beer. I had muscles and sole. Really really tasty, the portion sizes was perfect. It was followed by home made cheese cake made by Fred. Fantastic meal, would highly recommend and will return

Chef Fredrique is a genius and this restaurant holds its own against any Michelin starred restaurant in the world. The food is absolutely amazing. From the salads to an amazing tomato soup to our main dishes, which were among the best I've eaten anywhere, to it's unbelievable strawberry cheesecake, which is home made and a must try. The service was so spectacular. Can't say enough about this restaurant. Come with cash because they don't accept any other form of payment.

Ever since visiting Benidorm I always have diner at the vagebond. The owners are lovely people. Service with a smile. The food, French quisine, is excellent and very tastefull. I really enjoy it! You do need to make reservations because there often fully booked.

After being turned away from several fully booked places, we stumbled upon the Vagabond restaurant. It’s a boutique spot with just a few tables, where the skilled hands of a French chef and his assistant prepare excellent food. The starters were outstanding, with special praise for the avocado with shrimp. For the main course, we had salmon and pork fillet in a redcurrant and strawberry sauce. The flavor combinations were superb. For dessert, I would highlight the lemon cheesecake, which is baked and therefore light on the stomach. Because the place is small and cozy, we ended up having a great conversation with other guests. You can truly taste that the chef cooks with heart and experience.

Lovely experience. The chef and hist assistant were extremely friendly. We caught them on a relatively calm Monday morning and it was one of the better decisions we made on our holiday here in Benidorm. Perfect and friendly service, a welcoming and calm atmosphere and outstanding food. Unique too. If you are looking for a comfy little restaurant with great service and amazing food this is one of the best in the city. Do note that if you are a large group you may need to make a reservation beforehand.

I have to say I was attracted by the name and in all honesty I'm happy we did come here and I'm sad I'm leaving tomorrow too soon. Excellent hospitality and the Chef is extremely well prepared to serving all the dishes on his beautifully created menu. The two of them compliment each other and all the guest left very happy knowing they will all return and so will we. We just turned up without not booking fortunately for us a table was available.We were warmly greeted and showed to our table. The lady helped us with the menu. We were given some free soup to try which was lovely.We had the soup followed by the steak in a burgundy sauce it was amazing, perfectly cooked to our liking accompanied with a potato cheese side and green beans .We also had the cheese cake again amazing.If we come back to benidorm we will most definitely return we were warmly thanked for coming back by the lady and the chef

But here... exactly how you want it. Sauce is incredible and super quality meat as well!! Delicious wine! We had the Merlot. And a special coffee for dessert. Amazing Amazing Amazing. This is one of those places where you walk in and immediately feel at home. A small, cozy restaurant with a true French soul. The hostess – a wonderfully kind and attentive French lady – personally serves the dishes, each of them full of love and care. The food is absolutely delicious, with that unmistakable French charm. Il locale si presenta piccolo ma molto molto accogliente. I proprietari simpatici e allo stesso tempo attenti al cliente. I piatti erano tutti molto buoni, accompagnati da contorni altrettanto gustosi e in grado di spezzare i sapori per non stufare mai il palato mentre si assapora la pietanza principale. Anche i dolci molto molto buoni, sembra sia la specialità dello chef che prepara anche torte su ordinazione! È possibile sia ordinare da piatti di carne alla carta, sia ordinare con il “menu”, che permette di scegliere tre piatti a scelta con un prezzo fisso molto contenuto. Par pur hasard, alors que nous menions une recherche empirique sur l'écosystème urbain de Benidorm (comprendre : errant sans but, affamés et légèrement désorientés), nous avons découvert The Vagabond, un restaurant qui défie toute échelle de notation conventionnelle. Cinq étoiles ? Ridicule. Sept ? Pas assez. La véritable unité de mesure devrait, naturellement, commencer à dix et plus. Ce petit mais charmant sanctuaire du goût s'avère être une institution culinaire où les ingrédients non seulement se marient, mais semblent s'épanouir dans l'assiette. Le service est si attentionné et chaleureux qu'on se sent à la fois client, invité d'honneur et membre de la famille, sans avoir à faire la vaisselle à la fin. Si tous les restaurants affichaient la même dévotion gastronomique, la même élégance d'exécution et employaient des chefs de ce calibre (probablement des démiurges des papilles à leurs heures perdues), l'humanité ne s'en trouverait pas forcément meilleure, mais elle serait certainement beaucoup plus heureuse et, sans aucun doute, mieux nourrie.

Es un restaurante francés con muchísimo encanto, que le viene del encanto que tienen sus dueños. A parte de esto, la comida está buenísima, tienen un menú con muchísimos platos por 27 euros y yo me pedí la ensalada de gambas y el pollo relleno de pasas con miel y limón....y guauuuu vaya explosión de sabores, cada bocado tenia mas matices que el anterior. De postre la cheese cake. Me flipó, de las mejores que he probado. Eso sí, como solo voy en agosto a Benidorm, me costó conseguir mesa, ya que cierran en agosto por vacaciones, este año yo he ido un poco antes y pude ir. Recomiendo MUCHISIMO este restaurante. Buenas vacaciones merecidas, Maria!

Una maravilla! La comida muy muy buena… Hemos tomado para empezar mejillones en salsa, sopa del dia (tomate), lasaña y lenguado, y de postre una tarta de queso muy rico…. Todo muy bien cocinado… Recomendable 100% Ademas de un buen trato y muy buen ambiente Menu amplio y buena relacion calidad-precio. Volveremos! 👍👍

Un sitio magnífico. Un oasis de tranquilidad dentro del bullicio de Benidorm. La dueña y el chef encantadores. Y la comida francesa, riquísima. Además a un precio adecuado y una muy buena cantidad en comparación con los locales de alrededor.

Cocina francesa deliciosa. Una de las joyas gastronómicas de Benidorm. El local es muy pequeño e íntimo, pero por ello, el chef puede dedicarse al 100% con cada plato. Cuando queda libre, suele ir él mismo a interesarse por sus clientes.

Lugar donde la familia se entrega a cocinar. También maravilloso si eres vegetariano : Indica que lo eres y te adaptarán el menú. Dueños muy agradables y con ganas de contentar al cliente. El local no llama la atención, esta resguardado en pleno centro y su aspecto no es que sea llamativo pero la comida espectacular. El trato exquisito y relacion calidad precio muy bien. Tienes la opción de 3 platos (entrante, primero y postre) a 18'95€. Volveremos seguro.

Es un restaurante francés con muchísimo encanto, que le viene del encanto que tienen sus dueños. Una maravilla! La comida muy muy buena… Hemos tomado para empezar mejillones en salsa, sopa del dia (tomate), lasaña y lenguado, y de postre una tarta de queso muy rico…. Todo muy bien cocinado… Recomendable 100% Ademas de un buen trato y muy buen ambiente Menu amplio y buena relacion calidad-precio. Volveremos! 👍👍

Agradable sorpresa! Local pequeño que no da pistas de lo ke nos ofrece esa gran pareja ke lo regenta. Comida muy rica, raciones abundantes y algo diferente en la zona "guiri".Para repetir, sin duda.

Cocina francesa deliciosa. Una de las joyas gastronómicas de Benidorm. El local es muy pequeño e íntimo, pero por ello, el chef puede dedicarse al 100% con cada plato. Cuando queda libre, suele ir él mismo a interesarse por sus clientes.

El local no llama la atención, esta resguardado en pleno centro y su aspecto no es que sea llamativo pero la comida espectacular. El trato exquisito y relacion calidad precio muy bien. Tienes la opción de 3 platos (entrante, primero y postre) a 18'95€. Volveremos seguro.

Amazing food and friendly staff at this family owned restaurant. Would recommend everyone to visit and taste Benidorms top food. Pros and cons: + The chef was friendly and came out to talk to us. Like if you were at someone’s house. + Some of the best food I have tasted in Benidorm + Cosy atmosphere - The menu should be updated, as it was hard to understand and looked unprofessional - The restaurant was full of kitchen smoke/odours.

Meal booked for 8pm. 4 other diners in.Order taken. 1 pint served and I said would have wine. 9p.m no starters arrived or wine. 4 other diners came in and got served immediately, wine and food.Service not to their normal standard. When we complained about wait time could hear Fred shouting his head off in kitchen. Needless to say won't ever be going again. NO APOLOGIES GIVEN FOR DELAY.
