Carlotta and the team at Il Pianone truly went above and beyond to make our wedding day as special as it was. Everything from the food, the drinks and the venue itself were perfect. We’ve been visiting the restaurant for a few years now and couldn’t recommend it highly enough if you’re planning on visiting Bergamo, or passing through.

Great location. Beautiful view. We went to celebrate my parents anniversary and the staff was very kind and attentive to details. We asked if they could offer us an off the menu, chef thought 3 course lunch, and they did. Absolutely speechless. Great selection of wines and very reasonable prices for the quality of the food. It’s definitely one of my fav spots around the city. Highly recommend.

Il pianone was worth the walk from Citta Alta. We arrived just before dinner time without a reservation and the owner was kind enough to give us a table. The food & service was amazing with the local wines of the region. The views were absolutely stunning.The owner was even kind enough to drop us back to the piazza, because my girlfriends foot was bruised. Many thanks Billy, highly recommended.

E fantastico, sublime , wonderful...without doubt is one of the wonderful places i have visited, the nature takes you, the light of the city brings charm to the place and beisde the good quality of the tasty food and the gentel face of the man who welcome us, you feel goodness. Stunning views and incredibly delicious food at this scenic and (historic?) restaurant on the outskirts of the Bergamo walled city. I attended a wedding reception here that included unique and savory drinks and starters in the outside garden followed by an amazing multi course meal on the covered terrace with the entire wedding party. The space could easily have accommodated a group twice our size. Was a night I'll never forget.

Don’t be fooled by the nice view, the food was expensive and terrible. Worst tartar and pork belly we ever tasted. Ruined the last day for us in Bergamo.

The viewpoint is very beautiful but that's about it.. The food was very disappointing compere to the price, it was mediocre, not interesting at all. The food description doesn't suit the dish that's beening served, and the service was poor.

The high pricees are not justified as the food was very basic and old fashioned. What bothered me was that we were unhappy with some dishes and provided the waiter with a feedback. The waiter informed us that the chef will come to talk to us. He never showed up neither did the manager of the restaurant. We had to place a complaint when ordering the bill. As an excuse, the manager invited us for a drink into the wine cellar. To our shock, in the cellar there were wine bottles with Mussolini on the label on display. We felt very offended by it. Displaying a picture of such a mass murderer without context is very offensive. I definitely would NOT recommend this restaurant for all the above mentioned reasons.

The menu does not change from month to month (unsual for an upmarket restaurant) and the service was poor. We gave up on ordering dessert after waiting for half an hour, and then we had to wait another half hour for coffees and check. The private parking lot was a nightmare. We will not dine there again.
