Ambiente tranquillo ed elegante sulla bella piazza fulcro della Bergamo alta. Servizio impeccabile e buono il consiglio per il vino da accompagnare ai piatti scelti. Prezzo medio-alto comunque adeguato alla categoria e qualità del ristorante. Ne eravamo consapevoli. Piatti della tradizione ben cucinati ed impiantati. Ottimi anche i dolci.
Abbiamo pranzato domenica con una coppia di amici nella piazza vecchia, piatti presentati bene e molto buoni, servizio ottimo. Ci siamo fatti consigliare per il vino locale ed è stata una bella sorpresa. Lo consiglio!!

Sono venuta a cena con il mio compagno per il nostro anniversario. Tutto è stato magnifico. Fortunatamente era una bella serata e abbiamo potuto cenare all’aperto. Il menù è molto vario e i piatti sono descritti con molta cura. Io ho optato per il pesce mentre il mio compagno ha preferito dei piatti di terra e siamo rimasti estasiati. Il personale è stato gentile e molto disponibile. Grazie per aver reso la serata magnifica!
Ho recentemente avuto l'occasione di cenare in un ristorante situato in Piazza Vecchia, a Bergamo Alta. Il ristorante si chiama Trattoria Sant' Ambroeus, ed è un locale storico che offre cucina tipica lombarda. Ho ordinato come antipasto delle crudité di pesce, che erano fresche e ben preparate. Il pesce era di ottima qualità, e la salsa era leggera e saporita. Come secondo piatto ho scelto un tiramisù, che era semplicemente perfetto. La crema era densa e cremosa, e i savoiardi erano perfettamente inzuppati nel caffè. Il vino che ho ordinato è stato un prosecco, che si è abbinato perfettamente al cibo. Il servizio è stato cortese e attento, e l'atmosfera del ristorante è molto piacevole. Il locale è situato in una posizione centrale, a pochi passi da Piazza Vecchia e dalla Cittadella. Nel complesso, ho avuto un'esperienza molto positiva in questo ristorante. Il cibo è di alta qualità, il servizio è ottimo, e l'atmosfera è accogliente. Lo consiglio vivamente a chi visita Bergamo.
Location strepitosa, almeno per me che amo Città Alta , Piazza Vecchia ha sempre il suo fascino circondati da arte e storia e tradizioni , non potevo non apprezzare la mia pausa pranzo di un martedì uggioso , in questo ristorante in cui non ero mai stata. Abbiamo pranzato fuori , la tenda ci ha protetti e abbiamo potuto goderci la piazza . Servizio ottimo, personale gentile e attento , non abbiamo aspettato, i piatti erano buoni, caldi, fatti come ti ricordi che devono essere . Iniziato con missoltini ,ho potuto proseguire con mia sorpresa( perché lo preparano anche solo per una persona) i con il risotto alla milanese con pistilli di zafferano e ossobuco , il mio primo piatto preferito, qui l ho trovato buonissimo! La carta dei vini eccellente , infatti il vino scelto da mio marito non poteva che soddisfare le nostre aspettative. Ci torneremo sicuramente, voglio assaggiare anche la cotoletta alla milanese, lo consiglio a chi ama la cucina tradizionale , per cene o pranzi 😃romantici , con amici ma anche perché no, cene di lavoro .
Bellissimo posto dove poter fare una cena romantica, in pieno centro di Bergamo Alta, Sant'Amboeus offre una cucina raffinata, sicuramente di un certo livello per essere una trattoria, anche il servizio è eccellente con camerieri che ti seguono per ogni portata e che si occupano di tutto e per tutto del cliente. La polenta (piatto forte di Bergamo) è qualcosa di speciale, buonissima in ogni versione. Carinissima e molto gradita la pasticceria portata al momento del caffè. Ovviamente il conto è rapportato alla qualità di quello che si mangia, ma ne vale la pena. Posto veramente consigliato per le coppie!
Cena deliziosa, prenotata online con un po’ di anticipo senza intoppi. Dagli antipasti al vino, dal coniglio al dolce era tutto squisito ed è stata uno dei ristoranti più apprezzati durante una gita di qualche giorno a Bergamo alta. Personale cordiale e disponibile.

We returned to this wonderful trattoria for the final meal of our vacation, having eaten here almost two years ago. Again, the food was fantastic. Great flavors, beautiful wines to accompany the food, and good service. Everything you want to say "arrivederci Italia!".

We had dinner here. We sat outside and were able to watch the festival as well. It was great. The cuisine is very tasty. The portions are small, but enough to be satisfying. The service was pleasant and friendly. The atmosphere was very welcoming and also romantic.
Take the Funicolare per città alta Bergamo, and walk to Piazza Vecchia, and stop and have lunch or dinner at Trattoria Sant' Ambroeus. It is an example of the love and care the Italian people have for food. Truly the best meal I had after traveling a month in the Lake region. Although the Veal Milanese looked tempting from across another table, I ordered the Veal fillet on Taleggio cheese fondue and artichoke. Simply amazing. Everyone was quietly enjoying and reluctantly sharing their dishes. Burrata, polenta, veal with tuna sauce, pasta with bacon, each dish was delicious. After the meal, make sure to walk through Piazza Vecchia to the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore to see the pride, wealth and artistry of the people of Bergamo. A truly wonderful day. 👨🍳
While located on a main square this restaurant is amazing!! They serve traditional food, no pizza, no tourist stuff. This is a great gem of a place, the polenta with mushrooms is fantastic and the ravioli with bacon is unreal!! If you have time for a nice meal, go here!!
A lovely location on a beautiful square can sometimes let a restaurant rely only on that. Not the case here. The food was first rate and the staff so friendly. We spent two relaxing hours sampling the best local food and wine and watching the people walk by.
The casconcelli (ravioli) della casa is the best I have ever tasted. I've lived in Italy for over 3 years, so I've had a lot, but none like this. The bacon was crispy and salty, the filling had a bit of a sweetness to it that I couldn't quite place. Maybe a honey toasted nut, or something. Whatever they put in them they are incredible. My wife got the giant veal, so even though the ravioli is more of a starter, I was full after nibbling on her meal too. To top it off we absolutely loved the pistachio creme brulee. I didn't want it to stop.

We stopped for lunch after reading some rating. We had the cod and polenta, rabbit and polenta, milanese veal (photo below), and risotto with saffron and bone marrow..everything was superb! I highly recommend it. Pricy, but for a reason. They brought us some small complimentary mini desserts, which was a nice touch!
Lovely restaurant with friendly knowledgeable staff and amazing food. I'd recommend the sashimi starter, primi wild boar with polenta and pineapple dessert i had those but also my husband and mum loved their choices too!
Set in the Venetian side of the central square of the old walled upper town of Bergamo, so incredibly atmospheric. My raviolis in a creamy black truffle sauce were perfectly prepared with the delicate mushroom taste that only truffles can bring. The veal steak with more truffle was also tender and tasty, and the meat was well complimented by the sauce. If you are visiting Bergamo it is worth planning a trip to this trattoria and enjoying a well prepared meal as the sun comes down on the Cite Alta.

Locale: la posizione in Piazza Vecchia è sicuramente molto strategica e piacevole, molto interessante la sala al piano interrato con le volte in mattoni e la cantina a vista. Cibo: l’antipasto con crudo di baccalà interessante, il pesce era fresco e complessivamente si sentivano bene i sapori. Il risotto aveva un buon sapore, ma la cottura del riso era completamente sbagliata, troppo scotto. La cotoletta era umida internamente, mentre la panatura croccante, anche se a tratti si staccava dalla carne. Il dolce con polenta e zabaione buono. Servizio: iniziato male, con un atteggiamento del cameriere scocciato e molto sbrigativo. Nel corso della cena è fortunatamente migliorato. Costo: alto in rapporto, ma considerata la posizione giustificabile
Il locale è molto carino e curato, proprio sulla piazza. Menu con qualche piatto della tradizione con aggiunta di altri piatti particolari. Abbiamo apprezzato però che sono state soddisfatte anche richieste fuori menù (piatti più semplici per via del regime alimentare che abbiamo). Ci è piaciuto tutto, si percepisce l’ottima qualità dei prodotti. Il servizio è stato professionale ma anche cortese e attento alle nostre esigenze. Prezzi un po’ alti ma vista la posizione e la qualità ce lo aspettavamo.
Consigliati da un amico, abbiamo voluto provare questo ristorante che, nonostante fossimo stati più volte a Bergamo alta, ci mancava. Ambiente ottimo, sobriamente elegante e classico al punto giusto (la sala sopra dove ci siamo accomodati, sotto mi è parsa un po' più rustica e buia). Menu con scelta abbastanza varia per quanto non tutto sia tipico, forse per gli stranieri che cercano piatti famosi italiani a prescindere dal luogo. Noi abbiamo preso antipasti, secondi e dolci ed è stato tutto davvero ottimo. Si sentiva la qualità delle materie prime e la cura nella preparazione. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è ottimo, peccato solo per il costo del calice di vino ordinato da mio marito: 22 Euro, davvero troppo sinceramente, non è un ristorante stellato. Vero è che ha detto al cameriere "faccia Lei" per la scelta del vino ma insomma... Purtroppo ce ne siamo accorti solo una volta tornati a casa, altrimenti avremmo chiesto spiegazioni. Voglio essere positiva e sperare che sia stato solo un errore.
Ristorante posizionato in Piazza Vecchia a Bergamo Alta che ne fa una delle sue qualità più rilevanti. Menù ricercato e con piatti della tradizione bergamasca rivisti. Locale curato ed adatto per cene di coppia o comunque cene formali. Prezzi un po' sopra la media ma in linea con il contesto del ristorante.

Abbiamo mangiato in questo ristorante, sulla piazza centrale di Bergamo Alta, piazza Vecchia, scelto a caso su gmaps. Devo dire che a parte l'antipasto, scelta sbagliata nostra, i casoncelli e i dolci sono stati veramente top, al pari di altri ristoranti vicini, già provati. Detto questo l'ho trovato eccessivamente caro, 20 euro a piatto, e poi la tavola sguarnita piena di briciole e 1 sola forchetta a testa? Non è stato un errore ma una cosa voluta, secondo me se un ristorante decide di fare il ristorante "di lusso" lo deve fare fino in fondo. Anche la sala non l'ho trovata particolamente accogliente. Insomma, non dico che è stata una delusione ma con se vuoi giustificare prezzi del genere bisogna migliorare tanto.
Personale gentile e accogliente, sul cibo purtroppo grande delusione. Lumache estremamente asciutte e secche, primi che galleggiavano in un eccesso di burro. Mi dispiace perché nonostante con discrezione riferito il problema sul dubbio lumache non fresche, la cameriera gentilmente va a riferire ma nessun responsabile appare per dare qualche spiegazione. Peccato.
Menu ottimo, peccato per il servizio sufficiente e il terribile odore che regna nella sala. Appena entrati il maleodorante odore di chiuso vi perfora le narici. Fortunatamente il menù risulta suggestivo, oltre che tradizionale il che risulta lodevole vista la posizione (i ristoranti attorno hanno tutti dei menu acchiappa turisti). Appena ordinato ti portano dell’ottimo pane caldo, il che fa capire il livello a cui ambisce il ristorante, ma questa puzza in sala più che all’eleganza fa pensare all’RSA. Come antipasto abbiamo preso il tagliere di formaggi che erano spettacolari, tutti dal sapore genuino e dai gusti ricercati. A seguire il risotto alla milanese e risotto alla parmigiana erano un vero spettacolo per il palato. Il conto era giusto per la qualità della materia prima. Quindi grandi complimenti alla cucina. Per quel che riguarda la sala consiglio di aprire le finestre per far girare l’aria almeno 1 volta all’anno
