Overlook at Tilden

I have been a regular Tilden golfer since 2019 (especially on Tuesday nights...when the real pros come out!). The recent opening of The Overlook has been a fantastic addition to the course. They did a great job with the drink selection, with lots of local beers on tap. The outdoor space is so nice, with heat lamps and a fire pit. Also, if you haven't been out to Tilden before, you will love the views and serenity out there. It reminds me of getting a drink at the top of a ski resort in Tahoe. Bravo Tilden!

A hidden gem in Tilden Park! The new Overlook restaurant / bar is a great asset to the neighborhood with great food, excellent beer selection, and relaxing environment overlooking the golf course. The course itself is challenging, while remaining fun, even for those who aren't great at the game. You're just taking a leisurely walk through Tilden park, great views, always an enjoyable experience!

Great outside area. Perfect spot to sit and relax after a round of golf or just to sit and enjoy some food an a nice beer. The burger is average but good. The fries are nice, but are usually really salty. The chicken tenders are good. When I'm in the area, it's a nice and relaxing spot to enjoy. Staff is friendly.

The truffle parm fries and the homemade ranch....fire! So good!!! Happy hour 3 pm-6 pm...great beer selection and the outdoor patio is beautiful 😍 Service is great!

We live 5 min away and Overlook is a great easy place to grab dinner in the Berkeley hills. The staff was quite knowledgeable on the beer on tap. And the atmosphere is relaxing and quiet. We're definitely making this a regular go to place for meals.

I've been playing at Tilden Golf Course regularly for about four years. In my opinion, it keeps getting better, especially since the new management took over. I'm excited about the newly opened Overlook restaurant/bar. The outdoor space looks amazing, the beer selection is solid, and it feels like the perfect atmosphere to relax with friends after a round of golf. The course itself is challenging, with the added bonus of being surrounded by the natural beauty of Tilden Park. I think the staff does a fantastic job maintaining the course, and the fairways and greens are consistently in great condition. If only I could just hit the fairways and sink a few more putts... Highly recommend the course and The Overlook for anyone looking for a great experience!

This is the place to come whether you are grabbing a beer and a burger at the turn, or need a quiet table to talk business at a nondescript place in the east bay. PS - the fries here are to die for...!!

A great option for burger and fries if you're playing golf or in the area and need lunch. Gets busy during lunch time on the weekends.

The new and improved cafe is now open. The foods appear to be coming back to normal after the COVID years where the cold pre-prepared sandwiches were rather bad. The lookout has always had a great elevated views of the back nine, and I’m happy they improved the outdoor deck.

The food was great, but we had to go to the front to order and the food took 30 minutes.

Very limited breakfast menu. The breakfast sandwich is tasty but a tad greasy. The view from the deck is beautiful.

Got a sandwich to go. Nothing to complain about. Good food, ready quick.

My harvest salad had a baffling combination of ingredients: watermelon, greasy Brussels sprouts, whole cherry tomatoes, tiny friend capers, seeds, chopped lettuce leaves including the hard core of the lettuce— it didn’t make much sense and it was hard to get through. My husband’s sandwich was similarly unpalatable. We might come back to try something safer, like a burger. Hopefully they can improve the food because the location is very good!

Horrible customer service. We ate there after a round of golf on the night of the college football championship. It was moderately busy with the interior half full and maybe one table outside. Three of our foursome ordered food. Two recieved their food in a fairly timely manner. 10 minutes later and no food for the third, we went up and asked about the food and were told it was because they were busy and it would be right out. Multiple other tables recieved food but another ten minutes and nothing. Go up and ask again and are told "its because their printer was broken". Clearly making up excuses. After five more minutes the "manager" comes up without the food and simply says sorry we refunded you your money. The way it was communicated, it seemed they were refunding the order and cancelling the food (but keeping the 22% tip). We had to argue to get the tip refunded. The missing food still had not come and we were discussing how bad the service was when I noticed the "manager" eaves dropping on our conversation. We were not rude or vulger in any sense, but apparently she was unable to cope with valid criticism. She stormed to the kitchen area and told the other employee to "turn off the TV!" They shut of the national championship with a half full restaurant watching the game an hour before they closed!!! Wow. Oddly, right before we left they gave us the missing food in to-go containers. Food is pretty good. Physical atmoshere is poor as they remodeled with form over function in mind...looks nice, but no carpet or acoustic treatment makes it loud and hard to conversate. But hey, it lets the manager eaves drop from across the room.
