Opinions de Pho Tasty Berkeley
i love it here, it’s my go to for lunch and dinner. it feels like a warm hug in a bowl. the portions are an incredible size and i haven’t had a single bad meal, both in person and as takeout (plastic bowl below is takeout). 100000/10 my favorite pho ever
I love coming here for lunch because of how fresh everything tastes. I recommend any of the vermicelli plates and all the pho.
Wonderful Vietnamese restaurant. We ordered Banh Xeo, Bun Bo Hue, Pho Dat Biet and they were all tasty! The restaurant is clean, bright, brand new, and well decorated with lots of Vietnamese paintings and tributes. As a Vietnamese myself, I’d definitely recommend this restaurant!
Tried for the first time today and it was amazing! The service was great and the food was served fast and hot (almost too hot)! The servings are generous and man, the food was tasty! We will be back for sure!
We've waited years for an amazing pho place to appear in downtown Berkeley. This is it. Portion sizes are massive, the pho tastes very traditional, and servers were extremely nice. Will be coming here a lot more in the future.

Chicken broth was fire 🔥 rice noodles had a good consistency
Loved this place! The server was incredibly kind and considerate, maintaining immense patience with us through our indecision and needs. We kept asking for more onions/bean sprouts and he was gracious enough to bring additional plates to our table for free. He also ended up gifting us a Thai Tea!

We ordered take out and all the dishes came out quickly and we're piping hot when we picked up. Portions are very generous and the pho broth tasted great. Will need to come back and return for a sit down meal as the interior seems really clean and new.
The pho was good. I felt they were a bit skimpy on the fresh herbs that are served with the soup. The shrimp spring rolls were ok, and the accompanying peanut sauce was ok. The food was presented attractively.
It’s awesome to have a Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Berkeley and Pho Tasty is a solid offering. However, compared to most Vietnamese restaurants I’ve visited in the Bay (which is a lot because it’s my favorite cuisine), the portion sizes are on the small side and the prices are on the high side. The prices may be justifiable given high rents in Berkeley, but the portions could be 25% larger as my vermicelli bowl was really not big enough for a dinner portion (and that should be doable as the food itself isn’t a giant part of the costs of running a restaurant…)
It was delicious, but I would like to say that they should redo the menu and add pictures of the dishes
Nice place, great service. The food was a bit uneven. Some things were great, others less so. Overall, the quality and preparation of the meat and vegetables was very nice. However, I was pretty disappointed in the noodles in the pork vermicelli.

Opened about two months ago? Very clean with a nice restroom. Ordered a small and an XL pho beef bowls. Too much MSG and too pricey, $16 and $20, respectively. The taste does not justify the price, but then again it's around downtown Berkeley.

Mediocre and overpriced. They offer pho in only S or XL options (!?!?) at $16 and $19. $16 is overpriced for a bowl of pho, but was expecting a regular size bowl the same as other pho places. Nope it was small. The worst was the noodles weren't the right type and they were undercooked. The broth was not made in-house, it was either powered or from a tin, thus no real taste. It doesn't look like this place knows what fish sauce looks likes. Meat quality and quantity on the filet was very good to be fair, the tendon wasn't done right though. All in all - overpriced, and underwhelming.
They could use more meat in a beef filet mignon dish. We got the filet mignon over rice and although both the rice and the meat tasted delicious there just wasn't that much meat in total for the price that we paid. I actually asked if there was more meat in their filet mignon over vermicelli dish but I was told it's the same amount of beef exactly. Service was good but not perfect because a few times we had to get their attention to get more drinks. The interior seemed nice but I'm not a fan of a big bright TV on a relaxing dinner meal. If it was up to me I'd replace it with a nice fish tank that helps set a more relaxing mood. The parking situation is hit or miss but usually at night in that area you can find a spot without too much trouble. I know all restaurants are looking for ways to save money but skimping on the meat that is the center of a meat dish is only going to give you customers that will not return.
Pho broth was lukewarm so the raw meat that came with the pho BARELY cooked. The broth itself is like alright. Would not come back to this restaurant.

If you love waiting 30-40 min, possibly even 50 minutes for a single dish, great place to visit!
Food a was mid but the service was Awful. The server acted like we disgraced his entire bloodline and never checked on our table to the point we had to get up anytime we needed anything.
Worst fish sauce on the planet. Everyone mixes it differently. For some reason these guys went with triple sugar. The rest of the pork vermicelli was fine but the fish sauce ruined it. My GF had bun rieu and said it was the blandest she'd had. SF is just across the bridge. You can get real Vietnamese food there
We got there 30 minutes before closing and they said it was too late to serve us. Figured I'd give them a second chance bc they were the only ones open last time I came the pho was like swamp water. Figured it might just be a one off but ig I'll never know.
My friend and I came here for pho and spent about 1 hour and 25 minutes eating and chatting while finishing our meal. The restaurant was empty the entire time, there was no posted time limit, and no one said anything about needing the table back. When we paid and were literally walking out the door, the owner suddenly switched to Chinese and said: “Next time don’t sit for so long. That’s very rude.” What made it worse was that he had been acting friendly and speaking English the whole time, even when we paid, and only said this in Chinese right before we walked out. If there is a time limit, it should be clearly posted or communicated earlier instead of insulting customers as they leave. We were literally already leaving. The pho was okay, but definitely not good enough to make up for this kind of attitude.
Never go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a very bad restaurant !!!!!!!!!!! I have ordered the pho and the food was cold and the noodle was not heat up before packing as take away. I never have the noodle in my life like this. The noodle was never heat up to the customer. The soup was full of chemical, and made people thirsty. The staff's attitude was horrible, as I requested for refund. They refused. They pretended refund for me but actually charged for the price. The staff told me off the restaurant and the attitude is absolutely horrible. It is unacceptable and I will never come back here again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
