My co-worker and I had lunch today and it was AMAZING! I had the baked spaghetti and she had baked chicken sooo delicious. We also tried the black-eye peas, green beans and collard greens. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. We met the owner Chris and he was a delight to talk with! I will be back!

This place is Magnificent, the staff was courteous, polite and friendly. The food was exceptional, I mean I called the Bishop to issue invitations for an after Church service luncheon. We are going to bring our congregation; those who choose to participate. Mama en nem is a restaurant that must be visited, I promise that expansion is imminent, I urge you all to come out and experience it, no gimmicks simply a Great Service. Nothing to complain about, absolutely nothing. Planning my next visit now, might take a week off cooking, just to try the various entrees!

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food is here! They will be celebrating their 1 year anniversary this month. The food was delicious! You can choose from oxtails, fried catfish, baked chicken, fried whole wings (just to name a few) as an entree and then two sides (collards, Mac and cheese, green beans, cabbage, etc. They have dessert too! I definitely have to come back! Everything I orders was delicious! I had the baked chicken , Mac and cheese and cabbage. The establishment was clean and the servers were nice and friendly. I gotta try the oxtails!

This is a new business that just opened in my neighborhood the ensley area. I was excited to try them because its southern soul food let me say the meatloaf I ate was absolutely delicious the best I've ever had. I ordered meatloaf Mac and cheese mashed potatoes and gravy with a side of dressing and a roll. It was hot,fresh, tasty and just yummy 🤤. I recommend trying this cozy spot it's a very nice family friendly restaurant with great service I was very impressed. It's reasonably priced along with being able to go and sit down and enjoy or carry out. I'll be back 💯

1st visit Had a wonderful breakfast, the ground ball. Which comes with salmon croquettes, toast, 2 eggs and rice. The only reason for 4 stars is because I've only had breakfast. Hostess was very pleasant, atmosphere very open ,clean an inviting. I can't wait to try lunch and dinner items.

The atmosphere was great, we were treated upon entry, the service staff took great care of us. I ordered the fried fish it was seasoned well and crispy around the edges.. cooked to my pleasure. And also the Mac & cheese & beans all of it was great… The wife ordered spaghetti, baked chicken and Mac n cheese she said it was good… I love the place and will be going back to visit. They also sell breakfast, I would recommend you to stop in

My first time visiting but it seemed like a Hidden Gem in the city. Definitely worth trying for some good Southern Soul Food

Stopped in with my son. I'd heard about the place and wanted to check it out. Great staff! Food was buffet style. My son ordered fish, which was freshly prepared upon order. The veggies were great. And the peach cobbler was stellar!!

One Away From It

First time trying this place and unfortunately I didn’t have a great first impression. Tried the pork chop dinner with Mac and cheese, yams and cornbread. I was surprised to see that you only get one small pork chop(well seasoned but usually most places will give you 2 smaller ones or 1 if they’re larger, especially for $14 and change). The Mac and cheese was decent, the cornbread was a little dry and the yams had large hard pieces mixed in that weren’t cooked completely through all the way(refer to pictures). The nice lady recommended to try one of their desserts and I got the last slice of red velvet cake (it did not disappoint!). The slice is small, but It was moist and full of flavor. Overall for me personally i could name over a dozen fire food spots where you can spend $20 and get a quality plate, proper portions and dessert on top. Im wishing them all the success, but for me with all the other options around that give you a better value and quality for your money it’s just not a place that I would frequent.

My mom and I visited via Tik Tok reviews and we were very disappointed. We walked in and were not greeted. Someone at the bar told us to walk over to the buffet line. We stood at the buffet line what seemed like forever. The server still did not acknowledge us and passed us to a young man who looked to be in training to write our order down. Second server began fixing our plate and despite telling her 3 or 4 times our order she still did not fix our plates correctly. Mom and I just exchanged our food as it should have been. There was a tall light skin guy changing out food pans who did not have on any gloves nor did the young man on the food line. After receiving our food and sitting I observed a server wiping down the food line area and her rag went in the food. She continued to serve food from it. I could on with many more disappointments but I will not. Needless to say, HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!

The first time I came here with my dad we immediately turned back around after I saw one of the food handlers touch the trash can door with her gloves on and continued to serve food without changing them. They also had a flood problem in the kitchen that day. A big visible puddle in the middle of the kitchen and they still had people working in the kitchen and serving. Talk about safely hazard! Today I went in for a second time with my father for breakfast and both of us got the Ground Ball. Everything was unseasoned, not even with salt and pepper. The eggs were cold, grits weren’t fully cooked, the salmon croquettes were hard around the edges but soft and greasy in the middle and the toast tasted like it had been sitting in a damp room. And to top it off, they don’t even serve your food on a plate! They use an aluminum platter and just put your food on top. They didn’t even put wax paper on it like Jim n Nicks does. It’s dusty and moist inside the building and the walls are dirty. The whole building and decor looks like a rush job and you can tell by the windows and cracked brick. The server was nice and agreed with our disappointment. Apparently, she has talked to the owners before but nothing has been done about it. Not coming to this place again. 0/10

I ordered a turkey wing plate on Sunday and the turkey wasn’t done. I tried calling and no one answered. I would have taken it back but I was headed to work. My the turkey wing wasn’t cook full. It was so tuff the and the Mac n cheese tasted like grit. No mind you this was my second time eating there and the second time was worse than the 1st time. Some of the staff are nice and very professional but some are just rude and be rushing you. The atmosphere is very chilled,cleaned and not a bad area. Back to the food. The cake was dry and not good

I definitely did not enjoy my first time experience here. The food quality was low, the yams tasted old, the Porkchop was thin and cooked hard, and the mac and cheese wasn't good at all for 12.99. The service was subpar. Plus they charge you extra for using a card, by the way it wasn't posted near or around the cash register. The owner was sitting and talking while there was a line. No greetings and checks for satisfaction. I love my people, but we have to do better with service and quality food.
