1903 Taphouse

1st timers, passing through town. Found 1903 to be Comical, attentive, casual and delicious. Ordered the Chicago Dog, NY dog, Guiness dog and a side of Mac & cheese. Everything was amazing. Will certainly go back next time thru and definitely recommend.

Fantastic! Such an amazing place, so friendly and food was fantastic. Mac and cheese was amazing and so was both hot dogs my husband and I ordered. So amazing to both my 2 year old and dog. They did allow dogs if well behaved and not noisy! Definitely recommend to stop here!

Passing thru? Eat here! My wife loved the creole brisket. I loved the chicken salad.(not the overly sweet kind), tasted very good! Had a nice ipa from the tap. (Wife taking the next driving shift lol) Super nice owner and staff. We will be back for sure.

Love 1903 Taphouse! Run by a great, local woman. She always greets us with a smile and kind words. Loves meeting people. Food wise, the specialty is hot dogs! Great tasting hot dogs! The atmosphere is very inviting! Oh, and beer!!! Great hot dogs and great beer? What a combination!!

The staff was nice and inviting and the food...amazing. A twist on your favorite comfort foods!!! Potato salad...yes! Brisket...yes!!!! Mac and cheese with brisket...absolutely yes!!!!

A wide variety of craft beers available. The food centered on a theme of brisket and dogs. Our group had the brisket themed Rueben, Brisket sandwich, and homemade Mac N Cheese. All was great - note it is a saloon type place not a 5-star restaurant. The food was very enjoyable and the service and atmosphere were friendly and welcoming.

Welcoming brew pub in Bishop run by great people. They have a wide selection of beers on tap with a focus on local and hyper-local breweries. The menu has sandwiches and pub grub, with gourmet hot dogs and slow cooked brisket. I had the brisket sandwich which was great - juicy and tender meat on a gourmet style bun. The local IPA was also lovely as an accompanying beverage.

Great food and atmosphere! Kind staff and lot of different options to choose from in the food menu. Very resonable price. Dog friendly which is always fun!

Saw the article about 1903 on the front page of the Reader, so I thought I’d check it out. Glad I did! Great food, service and atmosphere. Plenty to choose from. Football games could be fun here, lots of televisions. Definitely be back! Football is great here, 6 televisions and the iced tea is really good too!

Was passing by Bishop town and stopped to get a quick bite. Everything we ordered was good. We tried their brisket, turkey club, grilled cheese sandwich, and creamy chicken with wild rice. The service was excellent. Hope to be back soon.

This place is amazing. I've never in my daughter's 12 years of life ever seen her eat a brisket sandwich so fast. My whole family enjoyed eating here. The food, people and atmosphere is fantastic. We would eat here over and over again, no questions asked. 🥰

But we came for the famous brisket on pretzel bread with a bowl of Mac and cheese! The brisket was slow cooked to perfection, hints of brown sugar as the meat melted in my mouth, lettuce tomato rounded it all together. Thanks for having us.

I cannot say enough good things about the service. All the waitresses were very helpful, friendly, and prompt. The food was fantastic and the vibes were immaculate. While everything was great the real stand out here was the employees. I just wanted to be friends with all of them! Another great hidden gem in Bishop that I would love to return to.

Stopped by 1903 on our way to Death Valley since it’s both dog and kid-friendly. The staff was super welcoming from the moment we walked in. We ordered the beef brisket roll with a side of potato salad, the Mt. Whitney salad, and the chili. Everything was fresh, homemade, well seasoned and delicious. And that potato salad tho… incredible! Owner Teresa and our server Melanie checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. Truly attentive service. Highly recommend!

Drove into Bishop Friday night and just wanted a small dinner. Luckily, we found this spot. SERVICE - totally 5 stars in itself! The lady and guy at the bar who helped us were so incredibly friendly and personable. You can just tell they're good people and probably come across interesting people working there. FOOD - YUM! Their simple tomato basil soup and chicken tortilla soup hit the spot and was just what I needed after a long drive. I was about to let my stomach take over and order more food because so much looked really appetizing, buy I knew I couldn't handle it. We will be back though to try out their grilled cheese sandwiches! Dessert was delicious too! Cheesecake STUFFED with a raspberry danish?! What mastermind thought of this??? AND they had huckleberry flavored ice cream that I am a sucker for. AMBIANCE - Quaint spot that basically has 2 rooms to hang out. One at the entrance with the bar and high boys, the other room with just seating that looks good for reserved parties. Since it was Friday night, they had live music, which was nice to have. Really good feel to the place. We loved coming here and will be back!

The brisket is seasoned well and ssoo tender. Great atmosphere! They have lots of TV’s for any sports lovers, great beers for a good price, video games and a pool table for the kiddos, plus live music on the weekends (occasionally: ask about scheduled times). Teresa, the owner and chef, is the absolute best! So attentive, welcoming, and sweet! My husband and I look forward to coming here every time we drive through the area :)

Hubby and I love this fun eatery. The food was delicious and I had the special brisket sandwich and hubby had a brisket grilled cheese. Lots of great beers to choose from as well. Our service was excellent and we enjoyed the company of the bar tender too! We are definitely returning soon!!

If you’re looking to watch sports in Bishop this is the place to do it. They have several TV screens and a lot of boardgames like darts and shuffleboard. The bar was recently remodeled. It’s nice and clean. The beer selection it’s fairly good. Lots of basic here and a few local beers on tap. This is great for day drinking or a little bit of a wild night. They also have really good mixed drinks. The bar staff is knowledgeable and funny ! This is definitely worth a stab if you’re going to be in Bishop for a little while.

Bishop has that small town vibe. It's a place if you grow up here. You wanna get away from, but it's so beautiful and a place to regroup. Everybody always comes back

Hubby and I love this fun eatery. The food was delicious and I had the special brisket sandwich and hubby had a brisket grilled cheese. Lots of great beers to choose from as well. Our service was excellent and we enjoyed the company of the bar tender too! We are definitely returning soon!!

We showed up with my slightly cranky, no-nap toddler and our dog, unsure if it would be okay, and we were welcomed as if we were visiting our aunties for lunch. The food was great and the ladies working the restaurant were even better - so warm, kind, and welcoming to us (and everyone who came in for a beer and a bite, whether they were bikers or climbers or regulars). We will be back next time we’re in Bishop!

Very disappointing. Food was average quality. The portions were a joke. Tiny hot dogs with cold soggy bread and a pathetically small side for $15. I left starving still and went to carls Jr for burger after. At least have an adult size portion for the main entrée or a actual sides like onion rings fries or potato skin or chicken strips, not a sampler size cup of macaroni or mac and cheese. I'm never going back here and telling everyone I know to avoid this place.
