Roxy's generally receives positive feedback for its service and steaks, especially the Delmonico. Servers like Kim, Lisa, and Sofiya are frequently praised. However, some customers report inconsistent food quality, high prices, and an atmosphere that doesn't match the cost.

Delmonico steak was one of the best I've had. Yes it's a little pricey but when you get your steak exactly like you ordered it cooked to perfection, what more could you ask for? Our waitress Sofiya was the greatest she offered us recommendations and was just super friendly! I would highly recommend Black Hawk, CO location.
The food, beverages, and service were exceptional. We were seated as soon as we arrived, which was early for our reservation time. The staff was extremely friendly. Food and drinks came out quickly. I had French onion soup and the rack of lamb. The food had great flavor and was seasoned exceptionally well. I definitely recommend spending extra for quality food and environment instead of waiting in a long line for the buffet. Plan ahead and make a reservation.
Good, but expensive on price. I had dinner at Roxy’s Steakhouse inside Horseshoe Casino Black Hawk and ordered the Wagyu burger. It was good — flavorful and cooked to order — but honestly not mind-blowing for the price. The fries were decent, nothing to write home about. Service was a little above average, and the atmosphere felt like your standard casino steakhouse — clean and a little upscale, but not particularly memorable. If you’re already at Horseshoe Casino in Blackhawk and want a sit-down meal, it’s a solid option. Just don’t expect anything exceptional. Bring your wallet..
We had prime rib which was great!! We both had salads, also great! We ordered a side of Brussels and gross!! They were complete mush! We asked for asparagus instead and it also was complete mush. They need to learn how to prepare veggies properly. Otherwise the food was good, atmosphere is nice and we had great service.
Great steaks and good food. The food was a solid 4 stars. High quality steaks with a great selection of sauces and good side items. Very high end atmosphere typical of a nice steakhouse. Full service bar with handcrafted cocktails. Very large wine selection. Expect to spend about $60/pp with a drink. It wasn't the best steak I've had, but certainly worthy of a good meal.
Wanted to love this place but after we were seated we were asked if they told us about the items not available. We had not been told. The Items not available were the Delmonico steak( The whole reason I wanted to go there ), The prime rib, (my 2nd choice), and the Wagyu burger,(My wifes choice) We decided to stay because we had already been seated and had a reservation( (unnecessary) My wife tried to order a drink but the first 3 choices were yet again, unavailable. She settled for something suggested by the waitress. The bread was warm and tasted fresh, but there was a hair in the butter, so we sent that back. We both ordered strip steak, my steak was Ok, very fatty but tasty. Carrots served with steak were very old tasting, potatoes were just ok, Overall disappointed but maybe just an off night for them. Just hard to fathom since it was a Friday night and it was almost empty
Food is AMAZING as was the service. The atmosphere does not match the prices or food. It needs a serious update. There says there is a dress code on their website so we went and bought clothes to accommodate it and there were people in cut off shorts, leggings, etc. so that was a waste of money for no reason. I paid a fee to reserve a booth and needed to change times but could not get anyone on the phone so I had to cancel the reservation online, lose out on the fee, and rebook. Over all it was good food but they need to update the restaurant and the website so information is accurate. Looking at the reviews, I notice a downhill decline in the past couple years.
I want to start off by saying our server Cory S. was the ONLY positive experience we had at this establishment. He was ride or die for us and did everything in hus power to make sure we were taken care of 100%. We waited for our food for 2 hours! The kitchen misplaced our ticket and rushed to get our food to us. The food was absolutely terrible for how expensive it was. The bartender was MIA and our server made our drinks for us. And the drinks were honestly the best part! They did end up comping our entire meal because of our experience, but we made sure our server charged us a service fee so we could tip him generously. Again, Cory was absolutely incredible and made our experience worth while.
For a restaurant positioning itself as fine dining with a $300+ price tag, the experience fell shockingly short. My steak had no seasoning whatsoever—bland, lifeless, and nothing like what you expect from a steakhouse. The plate looked as sad as it tasted: wilted greens, a single unseasoned steamed carrot, and a mysterious brown sauce slapped on both plates. Visually unappealing, and unfortunately, the flavor matched. On top of that, my martini glass was dirty, and the service felt more like a dive bar off Colfax than a luxury dining experience in Blackhawk. The only saving grace—and the reason this is a 2-star review instead of 1—were the honey-glazed carrots (not the sad carrot that came with our meal) and the lobster tail, which were both actually enjoyable. If you're going to charge fine-dining prices, deliver fine-dining quality. Right now, this was nowhere close. DO BETTER
Service was good, fast and friendly. The food was pretty terrible. The crab cakes had the texture of tuna fish (i should've known better). The salad vegetables were over ripe and there was almost no dressing (from someone who prefers minimal dressing). The drink was fine. They were out of at least 5 menu items. The atmosphere was a downer... no music, empty tables, very dated. Obviously it was hugely overpriced given its a casino restaurant.... but this was BAD even for a casino restaurant. Worse than early 2000s airport food. Over $100 for 2apps, a salad, & 1 drink.
The menu and decor feel outdated, but servers and bartender were generally friendly. Expect to pay the casino markup for below average food. A few mistakes with our order, but staff were happy to help resolve the issues, even if solutions were not very quick. Would definitely skip.
Not worth it. During our first time eating here, we had a waitress (blonde) that took a long time to come greet us and give us water, not sure what the reason was but I had to flag someone else that worked there and ask to speak to our waitress. She took our orders, and I had to make changes to certain things in my order because I can not eat something. Our orders took a long, long time and I was starting to feel a lot of irritation from the hunger. When our food came out, my food was jumbled up (not what I had ordered) and when I pulled her aside she just said to me “sorry, your order was really complicated” as if it is not her job to take the correct order… she did offer to send it back and have the kitchen change things but I figured it was going to take too long and decided not to. Oh and the side steamed bok choy was all soggy and had a lot of dirt and rock in between the stems (I found out by chewing on it). A few of the leafs were also yellow (no longer fresh). I understand that is natural for bok choy to have some yellowing leafs and some rock and dirt in it when bought from the store but I definitely wasn’t expecting it on my plate. My partner’s was not at all medium rare like he ordered. It was so tough and chewy it was ridiculous coming from this supposed “fancy” restaurant. My waitress wasn’t overtly rude but it was still a frustrating experience. I ended up here on another occasion and I was served by someone named Jasmine (I think) who was extremely pleasant and helpful. Food also came fast. However, I realized that it was the kitchen who seems to be getting my food wrong because they also didn’t give me exactly what I ordered. When I asked for spinach as a replacement for the asparagus, the kitchen just decided I dont need it because there was a already small amount of spinach in my quina. I asked for it anyway and I got an amount so small it was hilarious (pic). I got the sword fish and it was also really tough, chewy, and not enjoyable to eat at all. Overall their food is very meh on all levels. Don’t expect to have the right order if you need to change anything at all on the menu.
Food is gross. For a steakhouse, all but one appetizer is seafood? Seriously, for a steakhouse at this price, it's slim pickings and sub-par I only went since I had a comp. If you are paying out of pocket, go to Monarch
Overpriced and disgusting. We got seated to be told the head chef was out and they were out of this and that... fine. I ordered prime rib and mac and cheese, the mac and cheese was dry and even with extra sauce was awful, the sauce was pretty much heavy cream, no cheese. The prime rib was cold, I took it to go because I felt bad for the waitress and threw it in the trash. Waste of $200+ for two people.
Some of the worse food I’ve had it’s not a true upscale restaraunt at all. Love Caesar’s and their service but I had a lobster tail it wasn’t even the right color . They comped the lobster tail but said kitchen was closed and still charged us for the steak my lady got when I got to eat nothing . Tried her filet and it to was nasty . For the price I could have ate the buffet across the street and had way better food was actually sadden at how bad this place is .better off eating there regular restaraunt brew brothers .
Having been a server and front of house manager for ACTUAL fine dining, this is not it. Not In any way. Crabs cakes were burnt, not much crab in there and not much flavor. Crab bisque was like trying to eat crab in runny poaching liquid. Not a soup. Not even close. We split the delmonico, ordered the crab legs and smashed gouda potatoes. Meat was chewy and not very warm. Bernaise sauce was cold and congealed, not warm and silky like it should be. No bacon on the potatoes. Kitchen does not have thier shit together. I pisses me off to pay high end prices for sub par food. And I know the difference. It felt like we were in a hole in the wall dive with a fancy interior. Save your money and go to the monarch. My kids can cook better then this. Our server, Chad, was fantastic. Its hard to be a server when food goes back and the kitchen is in chaos. No management support. If I had a table, as the manager, that sent 3 items back, I would have been over to that table immediately.
Extremely over priced and over cooked. My mom ordered the prime rib and decided to add the king crab legs. I ordered the NY strip and added the lobster tail. We both asked for ours to be done medium rare and both were over cooked mine actually had charred ends and the seafood was tough and flavorless. Then the bill came $75 for the lobster tail and $75 for the crab legs after being listed as market price. Both were more than the prime rib or the NY strip. And lastly after getting home we both have had upset stomachs and feel like we my be sick from the seafood
To make a restaurant with such a name, it has very bad hygienic conditions. The other thing is that they humiliate a lot the staff who prepare it there. They prefer to vote for the rice and rice the potato, whatever else, rather than give it to the staff who work hard and daily for them, it is very humiliating. How bad human beings are
I made a reservation for my wife and I at 8:30pm. We were there, we didn't see the hostess until 8:45. She led us to a table that I wasn't comfortable with and brought it to her attention and even pointed one out, that wasn't yet cleaned where I would feel more comfortable and wouldn't mind waiting. No, she said, they have a "party" going on over there. Ironically, within 5 minutes that table was cleaned and she even sat other guests there. Before returning to our table to drop off a bread basket and dump water into our glasses. Not pour, but dump, as she dumped some on the table, and some on the bread basket before walking away. I've had more cordial experiences at waffle house and Dennys! After 10 minutes our waiter, Oscar comes to our table. Oscar, I have nothing bad to say about. His service is second to none, and honestly, professionally a mark above this restaurant. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was great. If you like reds and haven't had "Prisoner", I highly recommend it! Along with the wine, an order of Calamari. I uncloaked the bread and buttered a slice of what appeared to be a rustic whole grain bread. Nope, Raisin bread. Yes, that's right, Raisin bread! Who serves Raisin bread with dinner? I then tried a piece of the white bread, which was stale. Nevertheless, I still had high expectations for things to come. The Calamari was mediocre at best, nothing to write home about, but for $24.95 you would think it should be. Unfortunately, this was the only course that was remotely edible which I shared with my wife. I ordered the NY Strip (medium rare) with a side of potatoes au gratin, and my wife ordered the chicken Madeira. Oscar came back to our table to inform me that the restaurant is out of potatoes. This limited my side options to Asparagus, Brussel sprouts, or bacon Mac and cheese. I opted for the latter. How does a restaurant run out of potatoes? I can see a certain cut of steak, maybe fish, but potatoes? Poor management is the answer. I'll come back to that soon. My steak arrives, over cooked. Still, I took one bite, as I've had an over cooked steak on other occasions that was juicy and tender. This was not The Mac and cheese was bland. I pushed my plates aside, there was no way I was going to eat this. My wife's chicken however was amazing. She gave me a bite. It was truly unbelievably amazing how they can make chicken so dry and chewy. Her plate was almost untouched. I talked to the manager. He took my steak and Mac and cheese off the bill. I honestly don't feel I should have paid for anything but the wine. Needless to say, I shouldn't have spent $192.59 and walked away hungry. The manager should not be allowed to manage a McDonald's, much less a fine dining establishment. The kitchen is open, and you can seek the cooks. Not chefs, cooks. The manager admitted that they currently do not have a chef. I'm sure if they did, the chef would have made sure everyone was wearing hair nets. Instead they have sub par, overpriced slop and a manager that obviously has no idea what entails culinary arts. Update, just got a response from the owner on my review. No, I will never give them another chance to swindle me on a good meal. I walked away hungry, and still paid way too much for that to happen. Notice in the response there was nothing at all about how to make this this right. Be warned, I guess I will give notice to the BBB and let them know that this is a corrupt restaurant.
Took my husband to eat here for his birthday. He ordered a medium well steak and got a medium instead. We didn’t want to complain so we tried to deal with it…..until he bit into the steak. It tasted like the chef put a whole carton of salt in it. We tasted the mashed potatoes, same thing. I ordered the filet medallions and fries. My fries were rock hard and my steak was salty! I sent over half of my meal back. We didn’t want to complain, so we said we’ll just pay for the meal even though we weren’t satisfied. The waiter asked how we liked our food….that was obviously barely touched. We told him it was way too salty and we couldn’t enjoy it. He said,” Oh oops. I’ll tell the chef to watch that for next time. I’ll bring your ticket.” When he came back with our ticket, I asked for a manager. When she came over, I explained that we never complain but with a $100 bill, I felt it was necessary. I explained to her that I sent my food back and that my husband was going to take his food home and try to add something to it to help with all the salt. Long story short, she said let me see what I can do. They took 10 bucks off our meal, the mashed potatoes and that was basically it. My husband ended up throwing the steak in the trash. The salt was worse the next day. Mistakes happen and this could have been handled better. No real apology or effort to fix their mistake. We paid the bill and still tipped our waiter, but I would never come back again. So disappointed!!
