My husband got cupcakes made for my birthday which were delicious & beautiful! Typically I use another bakery for custom cakes but decided to give them a try for my daughter’s birthday. It came out exactly as I requested. My daughter was so happy!! Not to mention that they accommodated a pick up a day earlier due to the snow storm for us. Great customer service too!!
Small family owned friendly, first time trying mag by today trying to expand my espresso options after seeing them on Instagram I figured I’d give him a shot after looking in to them. I took my dog car and headed there for a doughnut and a Cortado. Consistent flow of customers we were greeted at the door with a friendly hello and good morning. It took me longer to figure out what I want than it did to whip my order up. I was very pleased with both, but I do have to say this was hands-down. Donut was sooooo fresh. The Donut was so soft it paired perfectly with the sweet icing that all seem to evaporate in my mouth like a fine cognac. Confidently i will say that without a doubt this was the best donut I have ever eaten in my life . Too good to share ….sorry Cardi Beagle. Went back after writing this review to grab another doughnut but with chocolate drizzle, still too good to share. Can’t wait to bring people here.
MOVED TO VIRGINIA FROM THIS AREA IN JERSEY NEEDING A BAKERY TO MAKE MY DADS 85th BIRTHDAY CAKE. MY FOLKS AND KIN STILL LIVE IN POMPTON PLAINS. I ORDERED A CUSTOM CAKE WITH ABIGAIL…SHE WAS PATIENT, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND WALKED ME THROUGH A GREAT EXPERIENCE OF ORDERING A SPECIAL CAKE FOR MY DAD. ACCOMMODATED LAST MINUTE PICK UP TIME AND WAS PLEASANT AND PATIENT. THIS REVIEW IS ONLY BASED ON THE STELLAR CUSTOMER SERVICE AS I AWAIT THE PHOTOS OF THE CAKE FROM MY FAMILY. I WILL UPDATE LATER. JUST WANTED TO GIVE A 5 STAR REVIEW TO ABIGAIL FOR THE AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Everything is delicious . Salami bread is my favorite, reminds me of my country Uruguay , so I basically buy it every week :)

I recently had the absolute pleasure working with The Magpie Bakery to create two custom cakes for my wife’s surprise birthday party. It was really great sitting down with Melanie to discuss the cakes and to hear her suggestions even though it was a very busy day at the bakery. They took time to make the cakes perfectly for our occasion. Thank you so much for such a great experience and the cakes were delicious. We had a 10” vanilla cake with buttercream and a strawberry jam interior. The 8” cake was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. As you can see, we went with a November theme. Thank you again.
Pastries are really tasty. Pies and such are varied. Donuts are great. Coffee is pretty good too, but not my MO personally. Go grab a bite early in the morning when ita fresh.
A lovely little bakery tucked in the back of the mini mall. The squares and scones are lovely and flavorful, and the hand pies make for a tasty light lunch. Everything has always been excellent.
Simply delicious!! We tried many different treats from this hidden gem of a bakery where all of the baked goods are made on premises using high-quality ingredients. Cupcakes, cakes, pies, and pastries - all tasted wonderful. The staff is very pleasant and courteous. It definitely makes sense why they have such a fully deserved high score.
Such an exceptional bakery. Not a huge place, but plenty of variety, product, and exceptional quality. The owners and team are very helpful and friendly. Just picked up a loaf of Sourdough bread, a coffee and doughnut (you might not step foot in a DD ever again). As a side note, and with total respect, I hope that my eyes didn't drift from the eyes of the very helpful woman who served me. Is it my fault that she's so attractive and distracting?! Really a great place.
I absolutely love Magpie Bakery!! I've been going there since Mel opened and I honestly haven't had a single thing that I haven't liked. Everything is so deliciously made with love! The staff, particularly Cher at the front, are also so helpful, friendly and pleasant.
I just wanted to post a quick review of this WONDERFUL bakery. The cakes and pastries are amazing, and if you need a quick easy dinner, their meat pies can not be beat. The staff recently went above and beyond to help me celebrate a relative's birthday while out of state and made her day! Don't miss out on the friendly staff, fantastic coffee, beautiful desserts.
We got my sisters birthday cake from Magpie Bakery and it was absolutely delicious! Both women in there were super kind and helpful in helping us get the perfect cake for her! The cake was beautifully decorated and tasted amazing. 10/10 would recommend. Shout out to the lovely ladies Cheryl and Wendy for making her birthday end on a sweet note!
I ordered a gender reveal cake without much notice and Magpie exceeded our expectations! Not only was it ready within a few hours (on Father’s Day no less) but it looked exactly like our inspiration photo! Not to mention it was also delicious☺️ Thank you for being a part of our gender reveal!!
A huge shoutout to Melanie and her crew! I needed a cake in less than 24 hours, and they made it happen! The staff was friendly, the place was clean, they really knew their stuff — and the cake was absolutely delicious! Pictured: Yellow cake with lemon filling and lemon buttercream frosting on the outside!
Cake was beautiful - I went in a week beforehand with inspiration pictures & the lady working at the time was very sweet helping fill out the form for me and having my vision in mind. I picked up and everyone raved about the cake! I will definitely be using them for events in the future, staff is nice & the place smells heavenly. I would recommend 10000%
I absolutely love love LOVE having this little slice of heaven so close to my office! The staff is incredible and somehow the food and drinks are even better! All of them are so talented at their craft and seem to enjoy it so much. Cher never backs down from my left field drink orders and nails it every single time! Definitely go if you have the chance and... bring your pups! :)
What an incredible experience! I went in this morning to pick up vegan treats for my co-worker's birthday and regular pastries for the rest of my team. It was such a pleasure— the women there were so kind and helpful. The treats were out of this world! I honestly haven’t had a donut that delicious. Everything I brought to work was a huge hit with my colleagues. Thank you so much for making it all so special!
Excellent and creative baked goods and pies! The iced coffee is very tasty as well. All of the staff are super friendly. The staff and the owner are delightful to speak to. They also have cute little tables if you can’t wait to bring home your goodies! I recommend following on Instagram to see their latest new creations. We always get our birthday cakes here and get SO many compliments! Not only are they beautiful but they taste so delicious!
I work in the Riverdale area 2 days a week and while on my lunch break i decided to do a search for coffee shops. I was fortunate enough to come across this little gem in Bloomingdale. Its not often you find a bakery that makes lemon bars, (at least that is my opinion) these were incredible! The other pastries and doughnuts also looked fresh and amazing! I did grab a chocolate brownie and a blueberry custard tart. The coffee was also nothing short of amazing. I like when I find unique menu items for coffee, and I had this cold brew with Strawberry foam, of course now I can't remember the exact name but the pictures show how amazing it looks! The coffee was ice cold, smooth and delicious. In addition to the amazing cupcakes, pies and pastries, they also have Potpies, Shepard's pie and a few others! Another place I highly recommend for coffee lovers and people with a sweet and savory tooth alike!
Everything I’ve tried from Magpie has been phenomenal. I’m a huge fan of their hand pies (pork mac and corned beef/cabbage rock!!), and it’s lovely being able to have them warmed up as well. Their scones are the perfect balance of soft and crumbly, and my husband loves the cinnamon rolls. We’ve been blown away by their pies—absolutely perfect crust, with filling that is fresh and not too sweet. I can always try something new when there, be it a shaken espresso drink or one of those new croissant sandwiches! Magpie continues to be my favorite bakery, and the experience is all the sweeter due to the amazing staff, who are so helpful and patient and kind!
First time checking this place out and I was not disappointed. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! So tasty we didn't get any pictures before we started eating them. It's nice that there is a local bakery.
Since we just moved to NJ, I was in search of a good homemade bakery that is not too sweet and on the healthy side but still tastes very good. I finally found this little gem. I ordered a bunch to try. The pies were so delicious. The gluten free banana Nutella muffin was perfect and not too sweet which is just how I love it. The scone was very delicious. The peacan bread pudding was perfect. Oh my... Everything we ordered were very good. This place will become my favorite bakery. Highly recommended.
Absolutely disappointed. Dry pastry layers and "cream" seemed like a stick of chocolate butter smeared on top of it that was separating from the layers. They knew it was my 40th birthday cake and still sold it to my husband.
