Thought there's be more selection of baked goods. The espresso was awful, simply awful. Ordered a double but it clearly was not. No change at the register when I asked, could not leave a decent tip. What kind of business does not have change. Music was too loud
The chilaquiles rellenos are an excellent twist on the dish. I highly recommend them for a heavier breakfast.
The restaurant has a great atmosphere and service. The food was perfect. There is a play area that my kids really enjoyed. I definetly recommend it.
Excellent Reuben sandwich on artisanal bread. Their pastries are so light. The Almond filled pastry is delightful.
Pastries! I'm a pastry addict and these guys are the best place in town. The food here is not bad, the ambience is good, but the pastries, cookies, baked goods are the real winner!
This is a very good place to eat. I really like the atmosphere and the service is really good.
A popular spot among local people, it might be one of the better breakfast spots available but personally the food could still use a little work. I had the cheese stuffed chilaquiles out of curiosity, it tasted okay but it definitely wasn’t as satisfying as usual bowl of chilaquiles. I also had a Jamaica concha and it was okay. Service was slow but I think they were very understaffed.
It's a really good place to eat, yo can find a lot of types of bread, also it's really pretty place, it's good go with friends, a date, family, etc, but it's something expensive. Kamila Vega
The place is beautiful and they have good coffee and bread but the menu options are few for the price
food was average in taste, and messy in handling. We both ordered club sandwiches which immediately fell apart on your plate. Service was fine. unfortunately could not use the bathroom as I was told there was no water? I find that odd in a restaurant. oh well live and learn, something new everyday
WELL ... I really LIKE Origo. The lattes are very, very good. And the baked goods are great, too. BUT, the prices have just risen AGAIN (Feb 2024). They were high-ish to begin with, but now they border on the outlandish. 60 PESOS for what is definitely a small-sized latte (US $3.51 at today's exchange rate) is Just. Too. Much. $7.00 for 2 small lattes?!?!? Come on. A QUART of milk here in Morelia is just 30 pesos, and they probably pay less than that because they buy in bulk. Too, I bet they get at least 4 lattes from one quart. In addition, Origo can be loud--with people talking. That's okay; I don't mind people yammering away. But today--Feb 14, 2024--they had LIVE music in the morning, which was obnoxiously loud, and simply obnoxious. There was a clarinet (!) which pierced all the conversations in the restaurant, so people naturally spoke even louder!!! To be heard. GEEZ. Did management simply not hear how loud and disconcerting the volume was?!? Or do they simply not care????? Personally, my patronage has dropped off recently due to that price increase. (I mean, one can only tolerate so much, right?!?) And after the music today, which was blaring, I doubt that I'll frequent the cafe anymore. So, take your chances if you go there. And take your checkbook, too!
Contrary to all my previous visits, which were a superb experience and delight, this morning I was mortified to experience the poor service of the waitress: total lack of imagination/willingness to meet a very simple request in the presentation of a fruit plate; rude when she finally came round to meet the request; poor service up to the point when I asked for the bill. Having said that, the premises were immaculately clean (as in every single previous ocasion, the food and ingredients were top rate and the diligent and sympathetic hearing when at the end, I voiced my complaint at the front desk - I met there a most polite and attentive duty manager. Overall, I'm still very satisfied and grateful to Origo for its great contribution to food education and positive impact to my city - Morelia. I reside outwith México.
We had breakfast at this place, which is located in a beautiful walkway. Very romantic on the surface. But way too overpriced and the service with no smile is not what you would expect. The waiters working in a much cheaper super busy place back breaking place have more grace than the serving woman, Priscilla. You pay premium price to get good food. We ordered for shashika which was tasteless, the chillaquillas was poor with tons of tortilla chips and one sad egg...all for a price you would probably pay in Paris or Rome. The croissant was good and so was the espresso. Cappuccino served in a paper cup! The Americano was similar to dirty dish water. I will not go back. There are way too many options in Morelia...for breakfast Panaderia los Olivos...the best breakfast for half the price and gracious service.
Only ordered coffee. Mediocre to poor taste quality. I ordered strong and it was weak! Not good flavour at all. Beautiful inside atmosphere but, this is destroyed by the poor quality service. You have to find someone to help you despite here being many people doing nothing behind the counter. To order you have to go to the far end, rather than just ordering from the people right in front of you. I do understand that this is their system, but unfortunately, it allows more opportunities for mistakes in processing the order. Why have 3 people when one could just do it? Prices weren’t terrible for Mexico, but they are super high for the quality. Lots of expensive “green” spinach type drinks being made, if you’re into getting your oxalates load up to the sky, ouch! Like microscopic glass shards tearing apart your intestinal lining! I honestly thought that people had figured that green smoothies were an extreme toxic overload to our bodies, but I’m guessing it’s not common knowledge in Mexico yet. If you too aren’t sure, do your research. It might be why your digestion isn’t good.
The place appear good, Nobody came to attend. I ask to the attendant and ordered 2 espressos and a water and 1 blueberry muffin. After a long time the coffee came cold and nothing the muffin. We put the money on the table to pay the coffee and got out. Terrible.
