We are becoming fans of the “CHUBBY” brand and this location does not disappoint. All of the dishes we had were very tasty and you can tell taste the quality. The sashimi was very delicious and the ramen was on point. It had us reminiscing of when we were in Japan. Only one other sushi restaurant had that effect on us, this place is good. We have entered the Chubby Universe, and we like it.

Their quality here is amazing and really reminds me of the fish I had in Japan, specifically their bluefin tuna dish. Here are dishes I recommend ordering: Kumamoto Oysters (small oysters, so fresh, with the lemon it had such a crisp taste) Blue Fin Tuna lover (amazing, melts in your mouth, different cuts ranging from lean to fatty) Wagyu Nigiri ($19.99 comes with two pieces) such a good deal imo comes with uni and caviar on top and they are generous with the serving size. There is an accessible parking spot in the back of the restaurant. There is bar and table seating available inside! Service is pretty timely since the restaurant isn't that big inside. If you leave them a yelp/google review you can get a free dessert!

Wow, if you’re a tuna lover, this place is for you! We ordered the Tuna Lover Trio snd tried the tuna marrow, the refreshing Summer Kiss, and those addictive tuna nachos that I’m still thinking about. My absolute favorite, Salmon & blue crab and 6-piece chef’s choice sushi! Then for the rolls the Chubby Angel Roll and Brea Roll (another fav) Every bite was fresh, creative, and perfectly balanced the kind of spot you roll into once and immediately add to your regular rotation. In Downtown Brea, don’t sleep on this one! PS, they have a pickled wasabi that is so addictive! The service was great and offered inside an outdoor seating. Everything was clean. There’s a parking structure across the street and also some parking behind the restaurant.

food came out quick! getting a table took a minute but it was a bit busy when i went. i also recommend sitting by the bar. everything was fresh and i really liked the mango salmon roll. very simple but perfectly balanced. i’d definitely come back and try their ramen.

Got there right at opening time and was seated right away. Service was pretty good overall. The servers did get caught up in a lot of conversation with each other but it was slow so I get it. The sushi was fresh, along with the oysters. If you’ve never had it you have to try the tuna marrow. Probably the best tasting thing I had over all. Definitely will come back again.

I haven't been in person YET but I've ordered twice (2 nights in a row). I wasn't sure if the first time was a fluke so I had to try the sushi again... it was just as good as the first time! The sushi is soooo fresh. Once you try it, you just know immediately by the texture and taste that there are different levels to how fresh something is. The packaging is super cute. I love that they are generous with the fish in the rolls and don't try to fill it with rice. My bf and I loved it so much, we are definitely going to try the dine-in experience.

We ordered the Chubby roll, salmon poke, fresh oyster and tempura combo. All are so good! Highly recommend the chubby roll. It is a little big though and my wife had a hard time eating it in one bite. The tempura is probably one of the best tempura I have ever eaten. Fresh oyster was smaller than we thought 😅. Salmon poke was alright. Not mind blowing.

The 10 pieces of chubby sushi offered us a delightful experience of premium quality. A must-try that's as simple as that. The fish and shrimp are incredibly fresh, melting in your mouth instantly. The chef's expertise and high standards are evident. We also indulged in one of their daily specials, the steam egg, which turned out to be possibly the best I've ever had. Alongside, we savored the fried oyster and fried chicken, complementing the great ambiance and warm service. A truly lovely evening for my wife and me, ensuring our definite return!

The food here was so delicious! The quality of the sashimi is really fresh. We got the Chubby Sashimi, and it did not disappoint. The price for the food is also really reasonable. The Chubby Sashimi was only $60. At other places, it would probably be at least $100. The oysters were amazing. They were super clean and tasted buttery. My kids loved the rolls so much they wanted seconds. Our server was so nice and attentive. Overall, everything was amazing. Definitely would recommend this place.

I love the presentation of the food here. The food ordered on every table was presented with some unique art. I must say chef here have a great skills. The seafood tasted fresh. We ordered chubby sashimi’s, ninja roll, tempura combo, tuna bone marrow . I loved the ninja roll. It was filled with unique flavors and was crunchy and delicious. Would recommend t trying tuna bone marrow if you haven’t tried yet. Ambience is cute. Parking is very convenient and easy to find. Service was very quick. Restaurant manager was making sure that everything is in place. Would visit again.

Very good quality fish here. We got the chubby sashimi, chubby roll, and tempura combo. Everything tasted very good and fresh. The sashimi came in a nice presentation on a big bowl with dry ice fog. My favorite was the chubby roll. Tempura came with mostly veggies and four big pieces of shrimp. It was nicely fried but also a little bland, but i liked it that way. I would definitely come back and try more items!

Was excited to try their Tuna Bone Marrow! It literally tastes like water jelly 😅 Their sashimi set is pretty cool with amazing steam show. Their ramen is okay. We had to wait for 45 minutes. Make reservations if you can!

We wanted to try this place after passing it many times, and it was pretty good! The we got two lunch specials and a Chubby Angel Roll. You would be full of the lunch special alone because it’s really filling! The ramen was really good and so were the rice dishes that came with it. However, by the time I got my veggie tempura, it was super soggy since it was sitting in the dipping sauce. The sushi was also really good and refreshing. The waiters were super nice and helpful too! We would love to come back soon!

After sitting down, the older lady waitress was super pushy for us to order, coming back every 30-60 seconds and seemed to be annoyed that we didn’t make up our minds. Eventually two younger waiter/waitresses rotated over to us and were much more reasonable. We saw the tuna bone marrow from the reel and had to give it a try. Much to our regret, we weren’t a fan of it. It sounded fun, but it was like eating fish flavored jello and just a small bite on each side as the marrow doesn’t go through the entire bone. Other than that let down though, everything else was pretty dang fresh and yummy. The sashimi platter was cool as we didn’t expect it to come with a show. The unagi was spectacular as it was grilled perfectly, with loads of crunchy bits on the outside from the char. Overall pretty good sushi spot for this area and I’d still return to try again.

Everything looked great until I dug a little deeper to find my mixed greens were not fresh. The sashimi however was fresh and delicious. Just enough vinaigrette to coat the salad. I asked the server to bring me some fresh greens and they did replace the greens immediately.

I hate to dock a star because they were apologetic and clearly overwhelmed but making a reservation here for my birthday dinner was not a great experience. For some reason you're not able to reserve online for Fridays and so I had to call. Because of traffic we were 10 minutes late to our reservation and they went ahead and gave away our table so we had to wait over 30 minutes. I even called when I knew we were going to be late but the server was pretty dismissive on the call. Once we were seated the service was quick and the food was decent, a little underwhelming because of the hype, but I don't think we could really enjoy it because of our experience.

The other rolls were fine, the chubby roll was the best out of the 3 things I got. They also have Ramen. I didn't try it but it smelled good.

I ordered from DoorDash, the food and presentation is fantastic! BUT I’m just very confused, how is it associated with another sushi place/restaurant in UT? J&C house? Perhaps the manager or the owner of Chubby can help me puzzle it out?

I usually enjoy this place, I love their baked salmon rolls! But tonight, my $55 order came out burnt to a crisp, the salmon was black. I just can’t believe they’d serve this to any one! Especially at the price point of their food, extremely disappointed.
