Fratellino's in Brea is a well-regarded Italian restaurant known for its inviting atmosphere, friendly staff (especially Marco and Natasha), and solid Italian dishes. The food is consistently good, though service can be slow at times. It's a great spot for family gatherings and celebrations.
Tip: Be prepared for potentially slow service, but the hard-working staff and great food make it worth the wait. The garlic bread is a must-try, but be careful not to fill up on it!

Blake was a super waitress! She took great care of my family, and particularly my parents on their 55th anniversary! She was super attentive and made us feel welcomed and at home, while never missing a beat with our food & drinks. Food was equally great. We'll be back!
This family style restaurant was a surprise and delightful discovery for us. The food was excellent, the service outstanding and price soooo reasonable in an age when it’s so expensive to eat out! This is not a high end type Italian restaurant. It’s simpler fare but has quite an extensive menu with lots of options. For example, my shrimp scampi could be prepared in 3 or 4 different styles. I opted for the Italian style which is the traditional garlic, olive oil and lemon. It was outstanding with loads of garlic which I love! What I find unusual about this restaurant is you can really customize your meal, adding things, changing things, getting choices in a types of meat or sauces etc. My partner ordered the #4 combo with ravioli ( several types to choose from), lasagna ( beef or veggie) and spaghetti with meatballs ( chicken or beef) . So many options! There is a large room but we were tucked away in a back room so it was easy to talk. Good for New Year’s Eve! We will definitely return!
Great food we have been enjoying it for years it is consistently good. The only thing that has changed is the service is not good they are very slow so if you're not in a hurry that's okay
This was my first time eating Italian cuisine. This restaurant was recommended by a friend, and it did not disappoint. We did not have to wait long to be seated. The restaurant is very clean, and the atmosphere was very calm and enjoyable. The staff is very nice. Our waitress went above what was expected to accommodate us, a party of 10. The food was amazing and flavorful and was brought out in an appropriate time. I can't wait to go back many times over. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a date or to enjoy with close friends. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT FRATELLINO'S!!!..
Went to place catering order. The staff was extremely patient and friendly. They also helped us pick the right items for family gathering and ensure we don't over-order.
Marco is the best manager. I would give him 10 stars if I can. My server Natasha is also excellent. Good good, good service. I recommend this restaurant who loves Italian food.
Brought my family for a celebratory lunch. We enjoyed the atmosphere, food and customer service. The owner came out and greeted us and other patrons, it was a great experience! Recommend trying this out when you are in downtown Brea!
I was quite disappointed with the same restaurant in Orange, but the Brea location turned out to be much better. While the pasta (whoops, no photos this time) wasn’t exactly traditional Italian, it had a different kind of appeal that I still enjoyed. It’s not a place I would frequent, but I wouldn’t mind returning for another visit.
We got there and got sat really fast. we placed our order and they came quickly hot and fresh. Looking around, thinking that i was the only one feeling proud of my evening dinner here, it looked like it was everyone’s day. We celebrated my Grandpa’s birthday and they brought him a desert with candle. we sung Birthday song and a few voices around us joined us. It was a great evening for the whole family. The food is delicious, Table arrangements is professional and server kept coming to ask whether we are ok and this felt human presence unlike other Places with robots.
Solid hearty Italian. The garlic bread is served right out of the oven and very well may ruin the rest of your meal after you eat it all! Antipasto was fresh with great Italian dressing with some real depth. Veal picatta was nuanced and well prepared. I have no idea why I go to so many fancy Italian restaurants when all I want is food like this.
One Saturday afternoon in September my husband and I decided to venture into a quaint Italian restaurant nestled near the historic part of Brea near old town, known as frantellion’s Italian Restaurant. The ambiance was immediately inviting, with soft lighting, rustic decor, and hand painted murals adorning the walls. The gentle hum of Italian conversation paired with the faint notes of a classic Italian ballad made the setting feel intimate and cozy. We were greeted with a warm smile by the owner Cesar and his son Gianni the hostess, who led us to a VIP table overlooking the entire restaurant. As I glanced over the menu, an array of authentic dishes beckoned me. We settled on the entree specials served with wine, perfectly toasted garlic bread, small salad or delicious minestrone and dessert. We had the handmade Chicken Parmigiana with creamy Pesto shells and the Shrimp and scallops Linguine. The anticipation grew as I took the first bite. The pasta was perfectly al dente, with the creamy alfredo pesto sauce melding in a symphony of flavors, perfectly complemented by breaded chicken parmigiana. Every bite was a delightful dance of textures and flavors, making it evident that each ingredient was chosen with care and love. To accompany the meal, the waitress Taylor suggested a glass of Rose and House Red wine , which perfectly accentuated the rich flavors of the Linguine and Pesto. For dessert, we indulged in cheesecake ice-cream with a delicate layering of creamy chunks of strawberries. It was a sweet ending to an exquisite meal. The entire experience was more than just a dinner; it was a journey through Italian culture and tradition. The genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and passion for authentic flavors made fratellino’s a memorable culinary adventure that I'll cherish for years to come. ---Aya
Our server was new so he wasn't on point but the Veal Marsala was fabulous! This little hole in the wall feels like it has old family recipes. Yummy.
Family-friendly restaurant. The food is always great and their combination dinners are so worth the few extra dollars. You get a complimentary glass of wine. We've been coming here for years and will continue to.
Great service and good. Ordered Creamy pesto penne pasta, fratellinos veggie pizza, Garlic cheese bread and tiramisu was all great and decent. Tiramisu was just good not too sweet, it’s not overwhelming. Service was great. Tried their house wine- it was strong - great with garlic cheese bread. Liked their complimentary carrot, ranch and pepper chili Table was consistently checked upon great service. Good to reserve table just to skip the waitline.
Food here are average. The garlic bread and carrots probably the best dishes of the night and those are FREE~ We ordered a variety of pasta from Lasagna, fettuccine with basil garlic sauce and chicken, spaghetti with red sauce and shrimp and so on ( in the pictures). The best thing of the night is our waiter who was super friendly and helpful and patient. Our evening was a pleasant one because of him, not the meal. He deserves a raise because himself worth a 5 stars already. Overall, a good place for families and friends to hang out but not for the food.
Went here for a quick lunch. We had the meatball sandwich. The atmosphere is cute inside and you can sit outside and eat also. I don’t have anything really negative about this place. It was quick to get seated, food is okay, I only had meatball sandwich but it was okay maybe could have had more flavor but not bad. Service was good. I’d have no problem coming back here.
Fratellino’s Italian Restaurant was in Fullerton for 10 years before they relocated their business to Brea. They are well-known for their take-out Party Trays. I’ve passed this restaurant many times in the 15 years I’ve lived in Brea. It was our first time dining here. It’s very quaint and they do have an outdoor patio area. We went on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t that busy. They had the Dodgers game on the tvs, not something you would expect at a nice Italian restaurant. It was obvious that the staff were watching the game. The hand painted Italian countryside murals are a nice touch. Their complimentary appetizer is carrots, pepperoncini peppers and ranch. Not a favorite for the table. Typically for most Italian restaurants, they give fresh bread with roasted garlic or olive oil. The Garlic Bread, which comes with certain meals, was tasty. We tried: (For all pasta, they were perfectly al dente) Alfredo with angel hair pasta, bacon, and chicken - very creamy. Bacon could have crispier. Angel Hair with creamy pesto and shrimp - not as creamy. Seemed more like pesto than creamy pesto. Needed more flavor. Chicken Parmigiana - the marinara sauce didn’t have any hint of basil. Needed more flavor. Beef lasagna and Fettuccine Alfredo - lasagna wasn’t in a typical square slice or even a rectangular slice, where you can see the layers. Seemed like a small portion. Clam Sauce Over Linguine - classic Italian restaurant dish. I like the chopped clams in this dish. I guess it’s texture for me. It could have been a little bit more flavorful. Great customer service from Danny. For an authentic Italian restaurant, I expected more fresh, high-quality ingredients, fresh, homemade, or locally made bread and flavors more intense.
There isn’t anything wrong with food, but it’s the customer service the young girl with brown curly hair, lighter skin working up in the front register goes out of her way to give you dirty looks and give you nasty vibes if you don’t tip her for takeout orders. She not was only rude the first time, but when she forgot that utensils, I went back and she gave me the same exact attitude. If not worse, I’m not sure why management isn’t responsible for behaviors like this and hire young people who can’t do their jobs correctly, and give attitude for no reason and discriminate against their customers. Please check that attitude because a lot of times places like these let it slide and allow their employees to make customers feel bad for no reason.
I want to be fair because this is one of favorite Italian restaurants but last night as we were having dinner we had to fight with bugs/nats that were flying all around us. I told my server Nicholas that the bugs had landed on my food and nothing was done. To be honest I don't consider going back if, this continue happening. I wanted it to be a special night because we were celebrating my wife's birthday.
I haven't eaten at this fratellinos but if it's anything like it's other restaurant in orange I would recommend you go somewhere else. The service is super slow the bread is stale the people they hire are rude, disrespectful and have smart mouths and when you ask to speak to a manager they tell you he's not in and he'll call you back but they never do. I'm hoping enough people feel the way I do and this dump will close it's doors. Either way me or my friends will not be going here !!
I cannot give this place anything more than a single star. We were sat down quickly... but that was it. We ordered food with our waiter and then began the longest wait... at least 40 minutes went by and the 9nly "appetizer" they gave us was carrots with ranch? where is the bread... my sister was able to change her baby and breastfeed the baby and still have plenty of time to chat before we got our food. When we finally DID get our food... It looked horrible. One of us got a single meatball in their meatball dish. and then it was just cold pasta and ketchup on top. my sister got pesto rottini and it was again, just cold pasta with pesto on top. The pictures do it justice. My mother got fettucine chicken alfredo and she said it was ok, but she did not finish it. Mine was the best: I got the eggplant parmigiana and since it was a dinner entree, i got minestrone soup and a side of penne pasta with it. the pasta was horrible. And then we did not see our waiter for the rest of our visit. There were PLENTY of waiters. Maybe 1 person for every 2 tables... but why did we not see any waiter come ask us if we wanted refill on our water or sodas? We actually had to get up and go to the front desk to ask for our check and leave because we were there for almost 2 hours... and only about 20 minutes of it was spent eating. Oh and we finally got the good bread (best part of our meal) with our food so i guess that was good. Also the interior was nice. But that's it. Olive Garden and Old Spaghetti Factory are better than this pathetic excuse for a restaurant.
