Dining at The Carlin was a wonderful experience. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Atmosphere was inviting and decor was trendy. Cocktails were great (Queen of Diamonds, Indian Summer, Wassail). To start we had Gruyere Biscuits & Crab Claws with a seasonal pasta (tortellini with duck confit and ricotta), pork chop, and beef tartare for the mains. Needless to say, that was more than two people needed but it was all delicious. I look forward to dining there again on my next trip to Breck. The validate parking for the lot behind the building.

Megan and Scooter are the BEST!!! Had the best time sitting at the bar. All I had to say was that I like gin and Megan made the best drink I’ve ever had. Scooter created some beautiful dessert cocktails as well. The team created a wonderful experience for us. We will 100% be returning. S/O to Adam who made sure everything was perfect and made us feel so welcomed. The banana bread dessert is incredible.

Am absolutely incredible experience through and through! The staff greeting at the door with the free coat check followed by genuine happiness from everyone working there really was there shining star of our experience. Feeling at home and well taken care of from the start only led to the most impressive presentation of starters and oysters! An absolute work of art in both presentation and flavor complex left me in awe that such amazing seafood can be found and the top of a mountain. Chef Josiah and Adam took great care of us with real conversations and laughter. I have never felt so euphoric after a dining experience. Thank you too all the Carlin employees for making our snowless trip that much better.

I highly recommend Carlin. I admired the interior design - it set the tone of cozy with fun mountain photography and intimate seating, but you also understood that it was a seafood restaurant (tough to do in my POV)! The service was fantastic, and we easily got a reservation 2 days prior (just call, you don’t have to go through the app). Food was delicious. Oysters were surprisingly good to be in the middle of CO, lobster dip for the app, YUM! I am still dreaming of the scallops. My partner had the clam dish with gnocchi, I could only take a few bites since it was very rich. We will definitely make another appearance.

Truly the most impeccable experience ever in a Breck restaurant. Scooter behind the bar was literally the experience. He made everything absolutely perfect. He will connect with you and feed you the absolute most delicious everything. Chef is to die for …..the salmon oysters and lobster bake were out of this world. Jenny was incredibly tending to our table wanting to make sure we had everything we could ever need. Adam is the GM and I genuinely could not brag about each of them more. Thank you Carlin!!!!! For the best night ever!

It is the 3rd time we come here with our group of french friends. We are always looking for good food and great places to eat and value very much good attention. Today we enjoyed the great seafood as well as the attention and professionalism of the team at the Carlin Restaurant. Crab cake and osters are delicious as well as the scallops. Also thank to Connor who for the second year provided a wonderful attention. Highly recommended in Breackenridge

Omg, that was delicious!! The halibut literally melts in your mouth, the tartare and mussels are super fresh, and overall the food is top-notch. The staff is very attentive and polite, and they explained every detail of the dishes. The prices aren’t low, but it’s worth every cent!!

The atmosphere is very welcoming! We overheard the chef making sure to go and introduce themselves to the new dishwasher by name. Clearly this is an establishment that cares about its staff. The quality of the food is amazing and Connor was just the best. The salmon was buttery and the side was not a sidekick but stand-alone good. The menu pays attention to texture. Not as busy as the other places but shines just as bright!!!

Finally ate here tonight and we were pleasantly surprised. We did not have reservations but we were able to snag two seats at the bar on a Monday night. We had exceptional service with great recommendations. The ambiance reminds me of the Cape and is very relaxing and blue. We wanted a light dinner so my husband and I split the lobster lettuce cups and the cod fish and chips. This resturant is pretty much completely gluten free!!! So many options!!! The lobster lettuce cups were so refreshing and bright, the lobster was cooked perfect..not even slightly chewy. The fish and chips with added bay seasoning on the fries, hit the spot and it was gf! The breading was super light and crisp and the fish was flakey. We will be back when we have more of an appetite as the raw bar was looking really good.

Jenny was great! The pickled muscles are amazing. Tried oysters for my first time and LOVED them. This is THE SPOT! Cocktails were also amazing we loved the Doctors Order.

One of my favorite places to eat in Breckenridge! The food is great and the service is beyond words! I have never gone here and had bad service. I always leave thinking how amazing the service was. Food is also always great. They have a rotating menu which I love, because there is always something new to try! Oysters are tasty too! Highly suggest going here if you are looking for a dinner spot in Breck!

We LOVED everything we ordered here and especially the butter leaf salad. The butternut squash soup, brussel sprouts and sliders were also delicious. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the interior design is impeccable. HIGHLY recommend!!

We sat at the chef’s bar and had an incredible experience watching Josiah and his team cooking and explaining what they were preparing and how. Conner, our server had great drink and food recommendations and we loved everything we decided on. We will come back to enjoy more great food in this incredible atmosphere.

WOW this place is a non negotiable dinner spot when visiting Breck. Each dish I tried was absolutely amazing and the seafood was SO fresh. I’m from Florida and was shocked by how fresh the seafood was considering it’s the mountains. The oysters were better than any I’ve had on the coast. All of the staff were so genuine and cared deeply about our dining experience. Our server Jenny, the manager Scooter, and the executive chef all made this a truly special experience. I can’t recommend it enough!

We had a great experience at the Carlin. No reservations, but got a seat at the bar for HH. Great specials. The Salmon was excellent along with everything with it. The hush puppies were delicious, and the fish and chips also good. Our service was top notch from the bartender. Def worth stopping in here. We'll be back.

Holy Mole was amazing! Ed the gorgeous British man that served us gave great suggestions and fabulous service. My wife loved the Wassail hot cider.

We had a wonderful experience at the Carlina for my sisters wedding dinner. The staff was so accommodating and even made the night extra special by allowing them to have their first dance when the restaurant closed. The food was amazing, and drinks too. The atmosphere was perfect for a wedding night. Loved that they had a playlist of songs throughout dinner. Would highly highly recommend!

We enjoyed our evening at Carlin. Jenny was our server and professional and personable. Started off with peach/tomato salad - excellent. The peaches were on point. The oyster selection was perfect size and taste. The special collection of enhanced hot sauces were a nice touch! Thank you for a nice evening.

The food is incredible. The sea food tower is a must. I am so beyond happy this is an option here in summit. Take my money- I will be back once a month. Oyster selection is on point- Buttery goodness. I have to come back for happy hour. This is my new favorite restaurant in summit hands down (and I am very picky). And of course, we had great service by our server Birdy. She was as excited about how good the food is as I was. We ordered: Octopus carpaccio Seafood tour Dynamite shrimp Cod fish and ships with old bay French fries 10/10. Do your self a favor and eat here.

Delicious food, excellent drinks, lovely space & fabulous service with Ed in the lounge last night. Best oysters we’ve had in a looooong time - yum! Highly recommend 🥂✨

I arrived at Carlin's at 3:45 and was the first in line to get in. We got seated for their 4-5PM Happy Hour with no issues with a party of six and they accommodated for us adding two more people (though told us when they needed the table by) which alone gives them a 5/5. Suggest you get a reservation! I ordered: 1 Au Jus Slider ($4) (5/5) Best thing on the menu for value. I appreciate that they put pickles on the side. Order two and a cocktail for a truly great happy hour. Clam Chowder ($10): (3/5) Served Manhattan style so it's watery, not as thick as New England style. I thought it was a bit light on ingredients, not the best value. 2 Select Oysters ($2.50 ea) (4.5/5): Served with lemon, very tasty. I liked these more than the wood fired ones. 3 Wood Fired Oysters ($3.50 ea) (4/5): Very well cooked and very flavorful. My only critique is that the oysters used (from British Colombia?) were quite small. Brussel Sprouts (shared) (4.5/5): Good portions, little heat from the szechuan vinegarette but not too hot. Tasted from friends: Buttermilk Gruyere Biscuits (shared) (4.5/5): Four huge biscuits with a pretty good butter. The biscuits are extremely rich, buttery and cheesy. Great value for $7 for four. Hushpuppies (shared) (3.5/5): Tasty, just not my style. Grouper Fish and Chips (shared) (4.5/5): Solid portions for both fries and a huge piece of fish. Amazing value and also pretty sharable. Tasted my friend's Manhattan and found it excellent. It's stronger than others we had on Main Street. Oysters were served with a habanero pear sauce and an Ancho sauce. We all agreed the Ancho sauce is more flavorful. I enjoyed the variety here and would say it stands up to some of the best happy hours in Breckenridge, way better than Aurum according to my friends. We rated it equivalent to Hearthstone but with more interesting variety. I'd come back for the fish and chips, brussel sprouts, and sliders over any other happy hour on Main. If I had one criticism I'd say the speed of food service is a bit strange. Four of our sliders came out quickly but I was waiting for mine for over 35 minutes. Maybe they forgot my order.

What a gem. This is a beautiful upscale restaurant with fresh high end seafood flown in everyday, and awesome Raw Bar. The menu is amazing, the entrées are superb and the cocktails are delicious, with an limited, but exceptional wine choice. Downstairs is a beautiful lounge/bar area. There are 2 Happy Hours both upstairs and downstairs. The staff is just WOW, very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great experience and will return every time we are visiting.

Stopped in for some oysters, appetizers, and a cocktail. The wood fire and raw bar is exceptional. I love the atmosphere. Came back 5/16 for our anniversary dinner. Got the fish & chips with mahi mahi. Excellent service and a lot more oysters.

Our first experience was in the Underground Tavern below the Carlin (same chef/kitchen) and just couldn't get over the great service provided by Chase and the food was out of this world. (Dynamite Shrimp app, fish tacos and burger) On our way out that night we booked a reservations for The Carlin (upstairs) and just lost our minds with the service and food once again. Our server Connor was fantastic and the Manager was attentive as well. We ordered the Chicken & Dumplings and the Mahi Mahi. Just incredible. This place is working some serious magic. Cocktails were magnificent!

The best crab cakes I have ever had. Atmosphere is amazing and Sam our server was the best with her recommendations and friendliness. Really reasonable prices for the quality of food. I will definitely return to The Carlin.

Great food and great people who treat their co-workers like family. We came in without a reservation at 7:30 on Saturday night and were able to find 2 seats at the bar. We shared the very tasty Zuppa Toscana (sausage and potato soup), shown in the photo with a halibut and green onion dip (in the background) served with sourdough or gluten free bread. Sorry, we ate the dip before the photo was taken. It was so good! The Carlin’s Raw Bar is popular, so we tried a few oysters, which were amazing. The selection changes, but I’ve included a photo of the Raw Bar menu that we ordered from. The staff was friendly and fun. It was a wonderful night out, and we will definitely go back.

The Carlin Restaurant was Amazing. Nice to get fresh seafood in the Mountains! The happy hour is great. Drinks were on spot! There is also a lovely bar downstairs. It’s a beautiful restaurant and bar. Nice addition to our favorite places to eat in Breck!

The service (Tom was our server) is the best service we have ever had anywhere. We came back and requested him. The food is so unique and flavorful. Of two meals we loved everything except the soft shell crab which was a special. Ambiance, presentation, views… all amazing. This took 3 years to remodel and become what it is today and they did it right. Highly recommend and in season, reservations.

When is the Tavern Underground going to have its own listing? I know it is part of The Carlin upstairs, but honestly it is a hidden gem. The bartenders are masters of the art of cocktail creation. Rum + Port... it works! And the salad with goat cheese, marinated peppers, and fig compote was so very delicious. Don't be afraid of the simple blue door... step inside for a warm welcome and a top notch cocktail bar experience.

🦀Perhaps Breckenridge's boujiest spot, The Carlin offers outstanding seafood presentation. Just look at this crab! 🦪Wood fired oysters served with umami crumbs and compound butter 🐮Au jus sliders were perfect. Such a great late night snack. 10/10 recommend. The service was exceptional! This spot is pricey, but what else is new in Breck. Stop in for Happy Hour!

Dining at The Carlin was an absolute highlight of our trip to Breckenridge. We sat at the chef's counter, which added an exciting, intimate touch to the evening—it’s a front-row seat to the action in the kitchen, and you can truly see the passion and precision behind every dish. Our server, Connor, was outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. He guided us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations and impeccable timing, making the whole experience seamless and enjoyable. We started with the crab claws and oysters, both incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. It's rare to find seafood of this caliber in the mountains, and The Carlin truly delivers. For our main course, we had the branzino, which was beautifully cooked—crispy skin, tender, flaky meat, and delicate flavors that let the fish shine. It’s so refreshing to find a place in the Rockies that not only offers high-quality seafood but executes it flawlessly. The Carlin strikes a perfect balance between mountain charm and coastal elegance. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back!

The best dining experience in Breck in my opinion. Chef Josiah’s menu is incredible and the culinary team executes consistently. Every dish is delicious, and the serving sizes are great, you won’t leave hungry. The fresh daily oysters shouldn’t be skipped. Ed behind the bar makes a mean drink. If you’re in Breck, the Carlin is THE spot. Ps- stop in for a night cap downstairs at the Tavern for a speakeasy cocktail experience.

Zach at the bar helped us have a great experience at the community table. Great recommendations on the drinks and food. He made sure all of our needs were met and took care of us on Valentine's Day. We're looking forward to coming again.

This experience was incredible. The food was amazing- the biscuits, crab cakes, gnocchi, and Thai curry was phenomenal! Connor was an exceptional waiter, so knowledgeable!

One of the best meals I have had in quite some time. Absolutely delicious and the presentation was phenomenal. Our sever, Amelia, was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and just attentive enough, what you want in a server. Will be recommending to friends and family. The Gnocchi was ridiculously good.

Both bartenders were very hospitable, checked on us, mixed some great drinks and made us feel very welcomed. The food was fun, over heated olives are something you need to try at least once in your life. Thank you folks, was worth the trip

I cannot say enough good things about the Carlin. We came here last night for my sister’s elopement wedding and they let us decorate the table for our small group, bring in a cake, and were so attentive. They cut the cake for us and everything and served it after dinner. Dinner was also so good, all of the food was amazing. We stayed until the restaurant was closing and we were the only people left there, and they turned on the newlyweds’ first dance song and let them have their first dance in the middle of the restaurant when they were closed. Then, we went to the Tavern downstairs and they turned on their father-daughter dance songs and let them do the dances in the middle of the bar. I am so impressed and grateful for the service we got to make it feel like a real wedding reception. It was perfect!

We came here last night to celebrate a birthday, and everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The atmosphere felt special without being stuffy, and it was the ideal place for a celebration. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of, and they were so kind and attentive the entire night!! Every single dish we ordered was amazing. The steaks were cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and clearly high quality. I would 100% come back and recommend this place to anyone looking for great food, amazing service, and a spot that actually feels special!!! Thank you guys again!!!

Our first trip to Breckenridge and a friend suggested we try the Carlin. And so glad we did. Not only was it the best dining experience in Breckenridge, but up there in my top 5 ever! The restaurant is perfectly decorated. Connor provided us with the best service including Oyster and entree suggestions that were perfect. We had the halibut and diver scallops. The presentations were stunning and the flavors, unbelievable. They also have an incredible Apres ski happy hour! We even went to the Tavern Underground two nights later for drinks, oysters and apps. Again, perfect! The Carlin is a must when you are in town. Thanks again Connor. Michael and Mike from NY.

We loved this place so much. Incredible service, warm and cozy but lively atmosphere, and the food was amazing. We ordered the Alaskan lobster dip and the beef tartare as appetizers and both were so delicious, we got the clam chowder which was very good but it had too much of a celery flavor, and then we both ordered the hanger steak which was SO good. The drinks were also very tasty. This has easily become one of our favorite spots in Breck!

Everything was absolutely amazing from the food to the experience! Recommend making a reservation, but we walked in and were greeted so kindly and were able to sit at the bar. We had the best service by both bartenders, the food was delicious, and the drinks were amazing. Be sure to order oysters, crab cakes, and prime beef tartare. We loved the vibes, the music, and how much pride the servers took in the place. When you are in Breckenridge, be sure to stop by The Carlin!! Hands down the best meal and experience we had during our week long stay here!

Stopped in for cocktails and a quick appetizer. The guy who sat me possibly the owner was working circles around the bartenders. Ordered the ‘Downtown Funk,’ which was fine, though the mango flavor was so subtle I started to think it might just be a rumor. But the dynamite shrimp? Those were spectacular, like a culinary mic drop. I’d give this place another shot and wish them all the best.

I had been waiting for The Carlin to open for over a year. This June, it finally happened. The restaurant is nice and comfortable. I enjoy sitting at the community table by the bar. The food is great. My steak was cooked to perfection. My husband had the mahi-mahi and he enjoyed it as well. The crab cakes were the best part. They were phenomenal. 90% flaky crab meat perfecly seasoned and cooked. Ed our bartender and server, is an excellent mixologist. I had the secret garden which was refreshing and well balanced. Greyson the general manager is personable and welcoming. I will definitely make The Carlin a permanent restauran on my list. Update: The Carlin continues to be on my favorite restaurants to dine at in Breckenridge. The service is even better than the food!

Pretty good! We enjoyed our first visit this week, and while it's not the top of our list, we might come back one day. It's a cool, modern/basic spot, with friendly stuff and good food options. We tried the sirloin and the fish and chips. Both dishes were pretty good. All of the gluten free options are clearly marked in the menu.

B

The Cocktails are the reason to come here. The food menu is decent, upscale bar food. 2 for atmosphere because we had to ask them to turn down the music at least 4 times (they would do it, then turn it back up within 5 minutes). They claim the music brings the vibe that their bar tenders thrive on. At 6pm, we want to be able to hear other people in our party speak. I could see that being a solid answer later in the evening, but not early dinner time.

K
Kimberly Wigley

Let me start this with the GOOD of our experience: At arrival, we were greeted with extremely friendly faces. We were given complimentary bubbly and Pickled Mussels as a wedding gift, wonderful. The oysters (ordered 3 each of all 4 kinds) were fantastic, the crab cakes were out of this world. For dinner, he had the elk chops, they were okay, very grisly. I had the bone-in pork chops and it was outstanding. From there, it went downhill. Shortly after dinner, the host came by our table and requested we move to the “community” table to finish our meal as they had people waiting for maybe 5-10 min for a table. We spent over $300 on our meal to only be kicked from our table and be offered a $12 dessert to make up for it? No thanks. We immediately closed our tab and left. HIGHLY DISSAPPOINTED is an understatement. I was ready to spread all over on how great The Carlin was so while their food is, the management can use some training on what and what not to do if your guests are paying such a high price for a meal. Disappointed for sure!

B
Bridgette Baten

My party of 7 adults ate here for our first and last time! The food served was delicious BUT our server, Daniel, was uncaring and almost rude when serving/clearing our table. Also be aware when ordering the Half Fired Chicken, you will NOT get a half chicken! When our meal arrived, 3 pieces of chicken were on the plate but no sign of a wing, thigh or leg. When I questioned Daniel, he just said that’s how they serve it. For $44.00 you would expect to get the 1/2 chicken listed on the menu. When I pressed to know where the rest of the chicken was, he just walked away! The manager came over and we got the same run around! No apology or ownership of the inaccurate menu description was given. They did eventually comp the meal but the issue took about 10 mins of discussion while our other guests continued to eat their meal. It was a most upsetting, frustrating and sad situation that was not acknowledged or minimized by the staff. We felt ignored and our inquiry had irritated our server and manager. Very sad because the food served was tasty but the customer care shown was truly lacking. Be warned…
