Great value for the quality and cost! Also, their service is so friendly - they've given me free appetizers a few times already. Recently ordered the deluxe Toro bowls for takeout, and the bowls had WAY more fish than it said it would, plus we got free edamame and fish tacos too. Love this place, please support it during COVID! Wish we lived closer!
Came here @ 5:30PM on a Thursday night and by 6PM there was already a line outside. There is outdoor seating with heaters as well. What we ordered: 12 piece omakase sashimi: $52 - fresh & perfectly sized. I liked how the cut of fish were folded in half, making it easy to devour. Definitely pricier than most places but worth it for the quality. Ichika treasure box: $85!! Not worth for this price point. I suggest passing on this and ordering more of the chefs special rolls! White fish carpaccio $15: this is a great appetizer dish. Savory sauce and melt in your mouth thin fish cuts. Will probably try another appetizer next time but definitely recommend. Dragon roll & Godzilla roll: 10/10!!! Generously sized rolls. I recommend trying out more of their chef rolls since there are 20+ rolls to choose from! The service was great as well. Hot tea was constantly being served. Looking forward to coming back!
Ordered the treasure box, couple rolls and tempura udon for the kid. Treasure box was good and has a nice variation of sushi and sashimi. I normally do not like oysters but their was ok, not fishy. Rolls were good too. Tempura pretty average. Our server Ken was amazing. Very friendly and attentive.
What can I say, this place has the best sushi! Good quality sushi I’ve ever had. It’s so fresh and delicious. It’s also got a great vibe and lovely members of staff, they were so attentive, gave us recommendations, were patient and turned the heater on just for us. We had a good selection of hot and cold dishes. Give this place a visit if you’re in the area.
This is my second time here and I continue to be impressed by the kindness of the atar, quickness of the service, and the quality of the food. I really enjoyed the scallop nigiri. I normally do not repeat order anything but I did get the chicken katsu curry twice. The treasure box was good and a nice option with another person. With a larger group it was easier to just order a few things to share rather than get several of them.
Unreal how good this place this. Unexpected and incredible at the same time… like a v12 engine in a ‘sleeper’ geo metro quarter mile car. The restaurant is tucked away in a slightly sketchy looking shopping center… in the back roads town of Brisbane… but it’s no joke some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The uni, the miso soup, the hamachi, maguro…. All of it exceeded my expectations and then some. Easily worth the drive off the 101. Cheers and ty for having us.
Delicious Japanese spot with a large menu. I enjoy coming here frequently. They have everything ranging from sashimi, omakase, ramen, curry. They also have a decent selection of sake. Update: Got the treasure box again and confirmed they serve different items each time. Amazing as usual!
Great local sushi spot! The sushi is amazing! I recommend the lion roll. The atmosphere is also cute since they have the traditional Japanese tables.
This little well kept secret has great food and service. It's hard to find good consistent sushi and that explains this little place being busy 99% of the time, great pricing and service is spot on! It's worth the wait !
Amazing food. I would recommend the chicken katsu curry. Completely worth the price you pay, with complimentary miso soup and edamame.
We love this spot. Our absolute go-to in the bay. The fish is so fresh. Staff are friendly and move quick. This place is so good, I almost don't want to write a review on how good it is because if it gets busy I'll be so sad however they deserve all the street credit. We love you Ichika. - Hannah & Spencer
Welcoming, friendly service, exceptional food. We followed the waitresses' recommendations, and the photos speak for themselves. Each dish presented in the "Treasure Box" provided its own unique flavor, a culinary journey through each piece.
If you are ever in the mood for some good sushi, then you wanna check out Ichika Sushi house. Customer service is excellent m. Atmosphere is excellent and the prices are pretty good. I actually ordered some food to go atmosphere was so good. I stayed and ended up eating there in the restaurant. They brought me out some appetizers and free water. Did I mention the Great customer service. Well done.
What a wonderful neighborhood hidden gem. We came we ate we destroyed the treasure box, sushi taco, some kimindei, and the chef special hand roll. The staff was welcoming and esp. Jennifer was so sweet. Thanks to the team at Ichika for making our meal amazing.
One of the best sushi rolls I've had in a long time. Thier warriors roll was amazing!
Being native Texan visiting San Fran, I was blown away at the quality, portions, uniques dishes and price point. Recommend you try the Brisbane roll, fish tacos, bluefin tuna nigiri. DeeLish!
My friend and I had lunch here recently, and it was quite busy. We were seated immediately at one of the charming "floor" tables and received complimentary miso soup and edamame. After a quick look at the menu, we ordered the fish tacos, vegetable tempura, and the deluxe chirashi bowls. The fish tacos were delicious, with a satisfying crunch and a hint of jalapeño spice. The vegetable tempura provided a tasty (though deep-fried) vegetable option. The deluxe chirashi bowl was a standout, featuring an assortment of sashimi, including amaebi, uni, sake, tuna, hamachi, and scallop. The variety and quality of the sashimi made it well worth the price, and I would definitely order it again.
the treasure box was amazing! every dish was fresh and delicious. service was fast and efficient. would highly recommend.
One of our favorite Japanese spots on the Peninsula. The sushi is always fresh, their staff is super nice and attentive, and they also have quite a few non-sushi options too. Their chicken katsu curry is probably the best one in the Bay Area.
Being a Vegetarian and picky eater, I was at first a bit hesitant to go there and try out new dishes. But, my coworkers were highly looking forward to it, so I went there just to join them and have fun. Turns out, I actually ended up liking the food. At first, there was Boiled Edemames (green peas🫛 ) on the table, which was too good, something to munch on while we take a look at the menu and decide for appetizers, drinks and main entree. I asked the waiter which one should I get as a vegetarian to which she recommended Walnut Roll, and that was too good. I even ate the entire green sauce (forgot the name, sorry, that one you eat with sushi) and it wasn’t even too bad. Lastly, we ordered mochi icecream, they had three flavors available, 1. green tea, 2. Strawberry and 3. Black Saseme They were all good, my favorite being black saseme. Thumbs up for vegetarians too
There's a reason why Ichika Sushi House is always packed and full of people waiting to get a table. First I have to say that not only is the service great the sushi is fresh and delicious. Jennifer provided top notch service as well as the other team. Our hot tea was always filled and service was always prompt. I hope to return in the future to be a little bit more adventurous in our selection and cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. During covid we ordered from here quite a few times and whether it was dining in or picking up a to-go order we have never been disappointed. Thank you for being a great addition and restaurant in our little town!
I travel to Brisbane, CA, on a regular basis, and I had no clue this this little gem existed. It's not that big, so you should try to get there early because it will fill up very quickly. We ordered a variety of sushi's and a teriyaki chicken plate. The chicken on the teriyaki plate was grilled nicely and not overcooked, and it came with a salad. I really enjoyed it. The sushi is fresh and tasted amazing. If you're ever traveling on US 101 in the San Francisco area, definitely give this place a try.
the photos speaks for itself. beautiful presentation and it actually taste good. the first pic(Treasure Box) allows you to taste many different flavors. the one that caught my eye was the Steam Egg Custard that they only serve in the box. Other items on the menu are just as delicious. great hidden gem hiding in Brisbane CA.

New comments 2/25/2023 : Appreciated the owner’s positive and sincere attitude. I’ve changed a rating from 1 star to 4 stars. Hopefully they’ll improve their services and not losing their regular customers again because they used to be a good Japanese restaurant. Old comments : Used to be a regular customer here until the service became terrible, and unreasonable long queue even though before 6pm. The last time we been there, we spent over usd100 dollars. When we were about to finish, they were kind of hurry to give us a bill. We had been waited about 1.5 hours and only seated around 30mins, the server was pushing to get their table back. Were we at the fast food restaurant!! Well, you’re not the only one Japanese restaurant in SF. Really disappointed.
Are any of you like me and have a "rolodex" in your head of places you want to go to and try? My friends had told me to come check out Ichika (Brisbane) for a while. They warned me it's not "frou frou" or " fancy" but a great local neighborhood spot for sushi. Amazing meal! The Hokkaido Uni blasted the tastebuds. Edible pleasure w/ each bite! Everything else was delicious as well. Loved the Oysters and nibbles of O toro! One of the owners, Tim, even came and shared a glass of beer with me! This place will be added to my "regular" places to go to! Excellent service and plenty of parking in lot.
Awesome place. Food is delicious and service is great! I can't take my review down, I can only edit so I feel I need to note down for anyone reading this that prices have increased a lot during the pandemic. A regular chirashi bowl went from $26 to $38. And their deluxe chirashi went from $38 to $48. Other items have gone up too. Yikes! Pretty pricey.
SUPER FAST SERVICE AMERICAN STYLE SUSHI SPOT Our friends recommended us this spot for a while. For those living around the Daly City/Brisbane/South SF area, certainly is a convenient spot when you don’t want to head to SF. It is not worth your while to drive up if you have other sushi spots around you though. FOOD: 4/5 Ichika Sushi has everything expected in an izakaya setting (nigiri sushi, american style sushi, skewers, curry, bento box etc). We got mostly sushi rolls. For all sushi rolls with imitation crab, you can ask for real crab substitute at $4+ add on. I recommend the deepfried rolls- those were most special imho. I also like that the food is not too salty. On the other hand choices are super American so don’t expect very Japanese style meal. Docked a star because food on average was more expensive than expected. $12 for chawan mushi! Yikes. For the cheapest dining option, go for curry. The Treasure Box is pretty but won’t fill you up, either. SERVICE: 5/5 We sat down at 5pm, was finished dining by 5:30pm! Amazing service speed! LOCATION: 4/5 Has indoor and outdoor seating. Located in a mall so no view to write home about. Plenty of parking.
October 2023: Came here to celebrate a birthday 🎉🎂. Ordered a bunch of sushi to share. Overall, the rolls were good. Rating four ⭐ because there is room for improvement. Nothing was bad, it's just that the sushi was not very memorable. After eating there, I didn't really crave anything again that I would make a point to come back for. My niece got the pork chop curry. I sampled it and it was okay. It's a big dish with lots of sauce and rice 🍚. But I don't think I would order it for myself. My mom ordered the sashimi. You have to order a bowl of rice separately. I thought that was a bit odd since most places come with either rice, miso soup or both 🤔. Overall, the place was okay and somewhat pricey for the experience. Would come back again if I was in the area to give it a second chance.
Oyster Special 5 sea urchin, quail egg, super fresh, super flavorful Edamame 2 lightly salted boiled soybeans, too plain Deluxe Chirashi 3 sea urchin, Hokkaido scallop, ikura, sweet shrimp, slightly sweet homemade omelet, fish belly of the day, sushi rice, some fishy Treasure Box 4 omakase, 18 pieces, fresh, some flavorful
Got the beef teriyaki and dragon roll. The beef teriyaki was flavorful and tender, though I did wish they gave even 2 more slices of beef, even if it was super thin. The dragon roll was tasty. Interior is small, but there is another side room too. The service was friendly. I sat at the bar and mid way, there were 2 different servers that asked to see how I was doing too. They speak cantonese too I hear
Had dinner with a few friends there. Is a regular place for the friends but 1st time for me. The service was friendly n excellent. The food tasted average to me. I had solfshell crab ramen. The soup base lack wow factor n the crab was fry with corn meal,. It was not season n feel a bit gritty. I would not come back alone, but would come with my friends. This is their neighborhood place.
Good japanese food. Service was ok at best. I've been here several times, and the service was good in the past, but this time around several issues were present. One, only 2 waters delivered, after asking for waters all around. Two, waited for a Hamachi Kama that took at least 20 minutes to arrive after everyone was eating. I guess they misheard the order, and gave a hamachi 6 peice roll instead of the hamachi kama. They didn't check on us to ask if the food was all delivered. After asking, it took another 10 minutes. At the end of the meal, we were waiting for the check, but had to go find a waiter. Other than this experience, the food was tasty. The quality was good. Reasonably priced, and good place for groups.
An extensive selection of rare-find and exotic Japanese fish are listed on the menu — impressive considering this restaurant is located in a Brisbane strip mall. The sushi technique, however, is slightly off with the rice a bit too wet. A bustling crowd, with traditional sunken seating for an experience unique.

Omakase nigiri: 3/5 Treasure box: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Wanted to stop by a sushi spot near SFO and found Ichika! Was quite disappointed when most of the nigiris lacked much taste. The fish was also not tender (other than the toro). My favorite pieces however were the toro, salmon, and ocean trout pieces. For the price point though, this omakase is quite the value. My friend ordered the treasure box and had a good time! He enjoyed the variety of pieces and loved the wagyu piece the most.
I would give the food 5 stars but unfortunately the service gets 2.5 stars. Really wonderful food, we got a bunch of stuff and it was all delish! Unfortunately, they don't take reservations, which is super annoying. Come on. Also we had to wait forever to get our check. And finally, they only have a single bathroom which was not clean when we visited. If they address those issues, this place would be amazing!
First two times I came to this place, I could not wait to go back. Then I ordered to go, my sushi was not freshly done. It was just like the grocery sushi. I went back again, it was just ok. For the fifth time, last night, it was not good at all. Rice on the sushi was so mushy. I could not taste the shrimp in the tempura because it was so tiny. The squash tempura was burnt on one edge. The wasabe did not have a normal kick. It makes me sad. So sad that I have to hunt for a better sushi spot again 😪. Why cant they be consistent.
After landing in SF, we were craving for Japanese food. with Yelp recommending this restaurant that’s close to the hotel, we came to try them out with high expectations. The restaurant was crowded and we thought the food must be very good. But it didn’t meet our expectations. Starting with the sushi roll, the rices were too mushy and too sour. They were definitely not what we used to in LA. The salmon teriyaki was over cook so the fish was very dry. Flavor was good though. I lost my appetite after taking a couple of bites. Atmosphere was good and the crowd seemed to enjoy the food. Maybe the people’s taste here are different LA. The food were on the pricey side.
They're severely understaffed here and the wait for a table really wasn't worth the food. This is one of the main places in brisbane for sushi. It's located in a small strip mall with a decent parking lot. They only had one server for handling everything from serving, seating, take out, etc. I tried my best being patient, but noticed they were seating parties that were ahead of my group even after confirming with me that our table would be ready soon. This probably set the tone of dinner and the food also took a very long time once we ordered. The chicken plate was pretty disappointing with the amount of chicken. The rolls were decent quality. After our recent experience, we probably will not be coming back again.
Ichika Sushi House is a bit of a hidden gem tucked away in a strip mall in Brisbane. Don't let the location fool you. This place was buzzing on a weekend night! They only have indoor seating, but luckily, I snagged a spot at the bar right away without a reservation. They brought out a complimentary plate of edamame to start. It was served cold and unsalted, but hey, free edamame is free edamame, and it kept me occupied while I perused the menu. Shout out to Ichika for having a fun anniversary deal - half off your first drink or a $1 soda if you wish them a happy anniversary! I went for their omakase nigiri, which at $52 for 10 pieces felt like a pretty good deal. Now, it wasn't a super fancy omakase experience where the chef explains each piece and you savor them one by one. All the nigiri came out together on a plate with a side of ginger. The server did tell me what each piece was, but that was about it. The ginger itself was a bit strong and on the crunchy side. Also, each piece had a dab of wasabi already inside - not a ton, but something to be aware of if you have a sensitive palate. That being said, the fish itself was fresh, and the cuts were generous. The flavors weren't mind-blowing or complex, but for the price point, it was perfectly pleasant. Overall, Ichika Sushi House is a good spot for a casual sushi meal. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was decent, especially considering the price. It's definitely worth a visit.

Who on Earth stuff salmon roll with bunch of Jalapeno's? To make your mouth burn? Ok sushi but be careful what they serve vs. what you order. I ordered chef special roll 8pcs per menu, they served 6pcs roll saying they had to roll larger roll hence less pieces. But the slices were much thinner than usual so they are unfair. They can be unfair because that's the only sushi place in miles.
This restaurant used to be my favorite. But they have made some radical decisions on how they serve their sushi just recently. Fish/rice ratio has been significantly changed. It's a premium chef roll, but look how much fish in there. It was also missing the taste. Me and my friends are highly disappointed. We may give Ichika some time to recover their quality back again.
Food is ok but SERVICE IS SUCKS ! 👎 I will ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND you to come here if YOU ARE CHINESE!!! YOU WILL FEEL LIKE BE DISCRIMINATED!!! BECAUSE THE WAITERS THEY ONLY OFFER THEIR SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS EXCLUDED CHINESE!!!!! It is basic service for waiter to introduce the dishes to customers. But they will only introduce their dishes to every customers except Chinese. Even though you ordered a $85 treasure box. No one would asked you, “Let me introduce to you each kind of fish.” But they would asked the customers nearby our table for so many time, even though they only ordered a couple of common Nigiri. And they asked the whole store customers, introduced dishes to all store customers except us. They only would told you, “this box is $85, do you still want it?” when you showed them the picture of the box, without anything else, that’s it, this is their service! 🙂What do you guy mean? Do you think I can’t afford this cheap box? And they will charge you at least 18% tips. I don’t care about the money if it is worthy. But they aren’t deserved. They will let you feel you are “special”, “ different “ from other customers🙂. Let you feel like eating shit🙂. I will never come back such trash store 👎 👎
