In a town where there is next almost nothing as far as restaurants and cafes, especially on a Sunday afternoon, Melissa's Taqueria is a pleasant surprise. Good food, decent pricing and friendly service. I'm only in the town of Brisbane every few months, but have been to melissa's a couple times now.

Love Melissa's, the owner takes your order, delivers your food, buses tables, cooks, great friendly guy. The food is also really good. I highly recommend getting the hot salsa he makes. I usually do take out can I ask for three little containers of it and he always provides it with a smile. A great place to get a great burrito. The dining area is great, cozy and comfortable. Worth a visit.

Lovely local Mexican restaurant ran by a father/daughter team. Cozy and inviting with delicious, well priced meals. Eat in or takeout. I probably shouldn't tell you this but he makes the best flan ever!

I went there at 7pm on a Sunday. I had a veggie burrito. It came with chips and two bowls of some of the best salsa in the Bay Area. You could tell they were freshly made in house. One had some spice and the other was pico de gallo. They were not sunny and watery. They had the perfect viscosity and didn’t run off your chips. The burrito was fantastic. It was just slightly on the smaller side but I left completely satiated. What made this burrito stand out to me was the ingredients. They were extremely high quality. The tortilla has a buttery flavor. I would venture to say that this could be my new favorite burrito. The ambience of the restaurant is amazing. It’s one of the best that I have seen in the Bay Area. The person working there was very kind and friendly. You could tell that he was very proud of the food. I am going to follow up with another meal there and will post pictures. Update 2/23/2026 Veggie Burrito This place is solid. The picante salsa is flavorful with the perfect amount of heat , not overpowering but clearly present. The ingredients are well balanced and thoughtfully blended. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant is spotless; I could hear chopping and laughter from the kitchen, and a happy staff definitely make better food. I was recently diagnosed pre-diabetic and now limit myself to one burrito a week, so vibe matters. If a place doesn’t feel right, I won’t eat there. The owner is genuinely simpático and the ambience is very chill. I appreciated that the food wasn’t overly salty. The cheese was delicious and perfectly melted, and while I’m not usually a fan of broccoli, this vegetable blend won me over. The burrito is excellent. I highly recommend this little hidden gem.

Ordered lunch for 14 to pick up for an office birthday.. Rafael made ordering easy and each dish was exactly as ordered - everyone loved their meal! Pico de gallo is my measurement of quality Mexican food, and Melissa’s Taqueria nailed it. Freshly made everything. I will be back and could not have been happier to support this excellent small local business. Thank you!

Pros: large selection of drinks, burrito was average red salsa has a kick, food came out quick Cons: not a fan of the pita chips they give, drinks are a bit pricey

It's a pretty nice place. The food was good and filling. I got the chimichanga, which was cooked surprising well and even without being oily. My girlfriend got the baby wet burrito, which ended up not being that 'baby' in size. The server was also nice. Pretty good spot hidden in a lower traffic area!

Food tasted ok. Had way better and bigger portions for the price. Nothing special about this place that stands out.

Ordered two orders of rolled tacos one beef one chicken. Little too crunchy, ended up heating them in the microwave to soften up the tortillas. Guac and hot sauce were on point tho so that helped nicely. Can't say much about the rest of the menu, but I'll be sure to go back and try it

I love Melissa’s Taqueria. The food is always great tasting Mexican food and a lot of it and for the price you pay can’t beat it anywhere else. Inside is always clean the staff their are very friendly great customer service they are family owned and have been in Brisbane for years and respected by the Brisbane community. A must try if you’re ever in the area family friendly Not a bad item on the menu. The nachos are my favorite. Highly recommend

I’ve been coming 2x week for 2 years, and last week they started charging extra for extra salsa/pico de gallo. You can order 6 tacos and you won’t get more chips or salsa, you just have to split it with the whole party.

Not quite as good as the Mexican food you can get in San Francisco or in Redwood City, but convenient and affordable if you live near Brisbane. I personally thought the Carne Asada Super Burrito was a bit lacking in flavor and not enough sour cream/guac.

Not very good. The chips and tortillas taste disgusting. I can bend the utensils because of how bendy they are. Its like their made of aluminum. And the inside of the resteraunt looks weird.

Food is horrible. I had Taco (crispy) and Chile. My husband ordered flautas, the chile was old and had a strong taste of vinegar, I’m not sure if the cheese was old or getting bad. The flautas were super over cooked, almost burn. I wanted to like this place. But definitely not worth it. Beans had no flavor at all. The only thing I enjoyed was the decoration.

Waited for about 10 min without anyone coming out to take my order. Even peaked around to see if they saw us come in, they acknowledged us being there and still didn't come out to take our order. Place had 3 tables and about 3 people working from what I could see...can't see why 1 person couldn't come to the front.

Just called to see if they had catering available. We go into this place often for lunch since there aren't that many places around where we work. Typically the food is pretty good. Today the bad rating comes on customer service. I have a new team that I just hired on. 20 people to feed I called to see if they catered and to see what options they had. Rafael the owner immediately had attitude. He told me he doesn't know what I want and that I have to come in to get it set up. That he has over 40 plates. Now I don't expect a complete run down. However I did expect a little background on how it would work. Maybe just yeah I can cater tacos, or burritos, or whatever. Hated his attitude. I told him that and that he just lost my business and he hung up. The food is good but if you want to deal with the jerk owner then that's on you.

I’ve given this place 3 chances since moving here and here are the highlights 1) Food is terrible cheap tasting and not fresh at all it’s really really bad even their fries don’t taste good how do fries not taste good? Old potatoes 2) unfriendly service in person 3) they have messed up my order several times and each time they act inconvenienced that I had to come back to get the right stuff (online orders) and they in the process have overcharged Don’t waste your time bad vibes here they should just shut down

I was very disappointed. While ordering, I noticed that the young woman in the back who was preparing the food was not wearing a mask or gloves. I informed the manager and he shrugged it off. I canceled my order and left. I will not be returning here. They do not follow safety guidelines.

Purchased 5 burritos, found chicken bone in one burrito and a hair in another. Went back few days later to buy another burritos and told the owner of what I found and he walked away. Great way to keep customers.
