Love this place been eating hear for years a little pricey but definitely worth it my favorites are the steak and shrimp and the chicharon de Pollo I wish thay delivered where I lived!!!
Love this place bin going here for years food its amazing u can't go wrong with anything u get. I personaly like the palomilla steak or pork chop with pork fried rice and many other but those my mains.
Food is extremely good...area out side is questionable and parking can be a pain...but the food is goooood prices are good service is good..I've been there many time's. They are Asian but they speak very very good Spanish and the food is more Spanish then anything else...sea food menu is pretty good also.
I love this place. The food is always good and they have many choices to choose from. The owners are so friendly and helpful. I love going there with the entire family cause it's good friendly environment. The food is delicious always. They speak Spanish as well.
I've been eating here since i was about 7 years old. This is the OG of Spanish Chinese fusión before it was even a thing. The Roasted shrimp in garlic butter sauce is to Die for and pretty much anything else too. The rice is freakin amazing. Never dry it bland. Not your typical fast food Chinese. I love this place. If you soak w the owner who is like family to me just let him know Len Chai sent you. He'll get a kick out of that
They don't have an A rating out front... makes me skeptical however it stays busy and the food is good. The beef and broccoli and steak + shrimp are really good.
My Favorite place to dine in and/or take out. The food is delicious Always! The Service is Welcoming & Friendly. It was recommended by a friend who lived in the neighborhood moved to Staten Island & still came from Staten Island to Dine here.
Just left there. It was very busy being it's Mother's day but I always get the same Great experience every time. I can literally say 25 years eating here and always the same great service. 👍
If you haven't have Latin style Chinese food, this is the place to try it. Their Steak & shrimps is delicious & the Fried Rice forget it !!! You'll be judging you'r regular Chinese fried rice base on theirs & you'll never be happy with just regular fried rice again. The restaurant decor is nothing fancy, but the food & services is great.
Best place would recommend the best food been going there since i was 8 years old family oriented restaurant
One of the more unique place in the Bronx. Its actually a hidden gem and I'm surprised it hasnt gone viral. If youre asian and dont speak spanish here, they're gonna mess with you.
If you want really good food for your money this is the place to go. This place has been around for decades and is one of the best Chinese-Spanish "Spanchi's" I've ever been to next to Flor De Mayo in Manhattan. The food is so good that they don't deliver, yet the people keep coming back once they try this spot
BROILED FISH AND SHRIMPS.. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS 😋 AND AT A GOOD PRICE. ATTENTIVE AND FRIENDLY STAFF WITH A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT. THEY HAVE OTHER FOODS THAT WILL DEFINITELY HIT THE SPOT. GREAT PLACE TO EAT GOOD FOOD WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY.
Only thing missing is them serving drinks other than that I freaking love this place
Good food, great steak!
“So, lemme tell y’all about this place right here. I went one time with my girls to grab some lunch. I’m thinking, ‘Aight, basic Chinese food,’ but nahhhh, this ain’t your basic Chinese food; it’s different!! The steak and shrimp fried rice was sooo good. I mean, they seasoned it like somebody’s auntie with the fat arm was back there, do you hear me??!! Slappin!!! The iced tea even hit different. I’m not even over-exaggerating. And you can order the sesame chicken and not be scared if it’s other meat… iykyk. Now, the service could be better if it’s the old guy; he acts like he doesn’t even want to give you bread, and it’s hella good as well. Also, let me not forget, the food comes out quick, so you’re probably only getting one serving anyway 😂. Overall, awesome. I wish I could give them 10 stars… for food, of course.”
If you enjoy to go to a restaurant where you can eat tasty food in a quiet, cozy environment with resonable prices, then this restaurant is the right place for you. I have been visiting this restaurant for almost two decades. I have so many fond memories and I look forward to so many more memories to come. I love how this restaurant has a chinese-spainish fusion to it. The food is so flavorful and the service is quick. I especially appreciate the homely feel to the restaurant. I orderd their baked porkchops with vegetables fried rice.I will honestly say that I felt that I had a little peace of heaven on my plate. The food was amazing. The restaurant doesn't have parking lot and is in busy neighborhood so expect to be searching for parking for a while. But the food is worth all the time spent searching for parking.
Food is always great and on point dining in or take out never had any experiences there love this spot very humbled business!
The food here is amazing! Prices are not bad. The rice, steak, wings, everything is tasteful. They’re quick and attentive. Always a good spot to come and eat REAL food.
Been to this place plenty of times, making the drive from Manhattan. Many options of Asian/ latino fused food, but I usually order the general tso combo. The best I've ever had.
Great food, tasty, fresh and good prices!! There others out there But this is simply the best!
El Pabellón De Oro is a hidden gem that embodies the essence of an old-school neighborhood joint—unpolished, authentic, and bursting with charm. While it might not grace the screen on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives due to its humble, off-the-beaten-path location, that’s precisely what makes it special. Nestled in the heart of the Bronx, it’s a place that takes me straight back to my childhood. Growing up right around the corner, I remember my dad bringing me to similar spots where the food was unforgettable, and the experience was one-of-a-kind—especially watching him chat effortlessly with the Chinese waiter in Spanish, a magical blend of cultures that you just don’t see everywhere. The food here is nothing short of fantastic. I had the garlic shrimp with fried rice and tostones, and it was a feast that hit every nostalgic note. My wife and I are huge fans of Chino-Cubano spots, and this one is a standout. Sure, the place could use a little facelift to modernize its appearance, but in a way, its worn-in vibe is part of its charm. If you’re looking for a taste of authentic, no-frills goodness with a side of cultural nostalgia, El Pabellón De Oro is worth the visit.
Great food 😋 The staff and service I will be going back again for sure. This is a cash-only place so make sure you have cash. There is an atm inside as well.
This is a very unique type is restaurant. They sell Hispanic and Asian foods together and separately, and are incredibly good at cooking both. I had come in there with low expectations and was shockingly surprised. Even some extremely picky people that I know love it here. The prices are pretty average. The employees will treat you incredibly, and the chef is cooking some heat in the kitchen. Definitely an amazing spot if you like to mix and match your options when it comes to food.
Love the food, love the servers, love the service. Bilingual maybe even trilingual staff which is awesome. I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl
I have been going to this place for a while now and love love love the food here. Sucks they only take cash, but it's still worth it. Their lobster guisada is cooked perfectly and well matched with their shrimp fried rice and some green plantains with garlic on the side. The staff is friendly speak all types of languages. Definitely recommend this place
Have been coming here for years with my family and its by far our favorite restaurant. I highly recommend you give this place a try and you will not be disappointed. The service is fast and the staff is friendly. The bread and butter they put out is amazing, I look forward to it every time. I always order the house special fried rice with the broiled shrimp and am always satisfied. The portions are plenty to leave you in a food coma. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
Great place great food great service 👍 👌 my family took me here when I was younger still traveling to eat here
I've been coming here since I was about 7 years old. I am now 49 and I can't tell you how good the food is. This is not a regular little Chinese spot from around the block. It's Spanish Chinese, and the price is well worth it. The fried rice is always just right, not fluffy, sticky, or dry with no flavor like most Chinese places. The sautéed shrimp in garlic sauce. To die for. Anyway I love it.......
I really love this place. I’ve been there the first time when I was like in the ninth grade ever since then I’ll go back constantly and every time I go home I ordered it lobster with the shrooms the steak with the shrooms and also to call Malice the clams they are so glad they really know how to cook delicious very flavorful must go since you had the chance you would love it and you will never ever go to nowhere else promise you that
Staple in my city. My father’s been coming here since a teen. I now bring my kids here. Great food, reasonable price, and the staff treats us like family. I’ll always come back to this place.
Great food!! No parking structure so you just have to deal with street parking. But meters are dead after 7 pm. FYI this place is cash only. There is a Chase Bank around here. And some random ATM's. I haven't tried the seafood here like the baked clams and such. But when someone else orders it, it smells fantastic!
Food is amazing. Service was decent. Bathroom had no tissue, but they fixed it right away but overall the food was very good
It’s an old spot I use to live around the corner as a child and love their food never changed, I love there food
Pabollon Chinese Food Restaurant never disappoints! Their **broiled steak and shrimp** is packed with flavor, tender, and cooked just right. The **egg fried rice** is always fresh, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. Portions are generous, service is fast and friendly, and the food quality is top-notch. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
Delicious baked clams. Little small for the demand. But that’s how you know the food is good. Enjoy.
The food was good I enjoyed the pork fried rice and the shrimp with lobster sauce which a bit on the salty side but enjoyable nonetheless. I also ordered the rib tips as well as the bbq ribs as well as the pork chops which was also good . I will definitely go back again.
Soooooo good! Great service and probably the best chino Latino food I’ve ever had ! Def our new favorite restaurant!
BETTER THAN SABROSURA! Please excuse the term but as far as Chinese & Spanish Cuisine aka "chino cubano" goes this place is the best. Chicharron de pollo is amazing, chicken and broccoli gravy actually tastes better than others, despite the different color gravy, but what blew my mind, and the reason for this rave review, is the BEEF LOMEIN. OMFG! They actually put steak in the beef lo-mein, as opposed to the cheap shreds of beef other places use, and it is delicious! Just make sure you take cash they do not accept any other payment.
Food was delicious! Staff very attentive to customers. Would recommend the Boneless Chicharrón de pollo. Yummy! 😋 😋 😋
Have been going here my entire life. Food, flavors, and hospitality haven’t changed a bit. It’s a true Bronx gem and the best Latin Chinese fusion spot in nyc. I recommend the broiled fish and shrimp, pork fried rice, and the batida de piña (pineapple milkshake). Honestly, everything I’ve tried is great!
There the best I been going to them since they had the first restaurant that use to be next to the Bruckner highway. Went there yesterday and there still great.
The staff are always nice and attentive. The broiled shrimp was so good and the pork fried rice never fails! Food came out fast and was fresh. Be aware it’s cash only but they have an ATM.
Love this place been coming since I was a kid with my family. Its cash only they do have a ATM. Everything on the menu has been so good. Same staff for years.
The personal welcome you very familiar. We ordered fried pork chops and chicharrón of chicken with pork fried rice delicious the way I been looking for. Very much recommend.
My family decided to go to a restaurant that serves both Spanish and Chinese cuisine. My extended family on my dad's side all came together to dine and catch up. I got the chance to meet ten more members of the family and reconciled with my half-siblings (I consider them my full siblings). My siblings and I share a common bond in relation to our dad, making us understand one another. In the meantime, the food was excellent, and I cannot believe how the succulent steak, baked chicken and spiced shrimp was done, with the lo mein perfectly placed in metal plates. After the family was done dining, the staff, without us asking, provided free dairy for the children (my nephews and nieces). Overall, the atmosphere was so lively and agreeable that I could go there again to get that home vibe. The restaurant only accepts cash, but an ATM is right on the corner of the place, and there are multiple other ATM's and banks across the street from the place. I would go there for the food and warm customer service.
There food is so good! I love the Hispanic and Asian fusion menu and you don’t have to worry about the origins of the meat. The beef and chicken are real and are perfectly cooked, not rubbery and odd textured like local Chinese take out places. We treat ourselves to their food at least once a month. The Spicy lo mein is the best!
Place is definitely 90's style inside BUT THEY FOOD IS GREAT 👍
Bnls Chicharrón de Pollo with pork fried rice is always a banger. Their ribeye steak with shrimp and maduros is always on point and last but not least is their chicken fried steak with maduros and salad.
Food is great very well done. Service is good but when it hers busy its gets a little lax. Although a nice e little place to have a meal.
If your in the mood for really good greasy spoon meal you can't go wrong. It's completely no frills but actually incredibly good. Bring cash they don't take cards. Very quick and attentive service. Get in get fed get out. Bronx is limited and this is always a good bet.
It's a good mix of Chinese food and Hispanic food. They have fresh Lobster and clams, the food is good, portions are more than adequate, and the service is fast and friendly. I'd recommend it, just don't expect too much.
The chuletas were good & rice too..good flavor 😋
A great restaurant went here wit my kids for Father's Day food was gd .
Ive been going here for many years.the servers are very friendly. I don't know what happened to the food. I ordered pork fried and chicken with broccoli in white sauce. The taste was great but the rice was very dry and hard. They should do something about the rice since that's the reason I go there. I can say one thing they make slamming pork chops. I still recommend this restaurant. No parking available.
The place needs a serious cleaning. And it could really use a remodel. But the food is delicious it’s the only reason I go there.
I had the beef broccoli w/white rice. It was far too salty for my taste so I ended up only eating the rice. If it weren't so salty I would have said that it's really good. It is a nice restaurant though
My first time there. It was good food. Large portions counter the (sort of) high prices. Everything has that Chinese kind of flavoring to it. I got broiled pork chops kind of tasted like Chinese fried chicken. Despite that it was delicious. Maybe update the dining area to something a bit cleaner and more modern and it'll be even better.
Food is very good, a bit salty. If dining in the place is a bit small and the tables are arranged very close together. If you’re driving parking is a challenge.
Translation: Excellent food, the waitstaff are helpful, and the space is cozy. I’m not giving it 5 stars because of the bathroom; that area needs improvement.
Food was fresh and taste amazing!!
The only reason I'm giving them four stars is because I'm missing one of my orders that I guess was a miscommunication and I pretty sure I ordered the broiled shrimps with pork fried rice and I just got the broiled shrimps on its own, which I did order in addition.
Ok, i've lived in the Bronx for a good amount of years & learned about this place as of recently. Its in a really busy area under elevated trains & lots of little shops that seem to sell specialty items, music is abundant, loud & proud & parking is double & triple everywhere. You get to the corner where its situated and are instantly taken aback by a 'B' rating, which has 6 months to be taken care of in NYC. The decor is dated but cozy there is a restaurant portion, where i saw 1st date in lust couples happily eating. The front is more bar-esque with bar seating and a counter. The staff is somewhat attentive & courteous whilst juggling phone orders & language barriers, they all look like members of a Korean boy band 😃 They ONLY accept cash! The food is portioned well & although was nothing like what i expected, tasty. The pork fried rice is 'Not' the old school fried rice of lore i was expecting, no egg, shallots, sprouts, just a lot of soy sauce & onion, not the de jour hood yellow rice we all endure now, but tasty. The Bistec Palomilla was not guisado as per tradition but seared nicely & flavorful 👍🏽 The shrimp Mofongo was not traditionally infused with garlic or cracklin or anything, just plantain. Which is fine because i've had it this way too, where the sauce is the star. This restaurants take on it did not falter, although tiny baby shrimp was used, but once again i was pleasantly surprised because the sauce was tasty. The Ropa Vieja was my least favorite as it was nothing like Cuban ropa vieja, the meat used was not shredded but thinly sliced fatty cuts. Kudos for the attempt & the chefs interpretation but alas Not ropa vieja, but tasty nonetheless. The popular iced tea they sell, tastes just like the old school 4c powdered ice tea, we all grew up with. Oh the eggrolls! Cannot forget the eggrolls!! They were not the size of a burrito like days long gone, more like spring rolls now, but they seemed 'meatier' than the hood variants we all endure & once again tasty 👍🏽 Would i come back...Probably, if on a fine Summers day, i wanted some chino latino or a different take on chinese food, didnt want to spend a lot of money & there was actually parking 🤗
Been coming to this restaurant since the mid 90's. The food is great but the portions, unfortunately, have gotten a lot smaller. As they say in spanish "se me queda la comida en una muela". Me nor my wife are big eaters but come on show me something on the plate. Overall the service and everything else about the restaurant is A#1.
The Food was Good! But the service was not Good!!! The server was rude and he seemed to be rushing. He didn't smile or say anything pleasant (it was like he was defensive against his imagination cause all we wanted to do was have dinner) It was like he wanted to hurry us through dinner and out. I didn't see that kind of attention with others. Maybe it was me. I'm going back again with an open mind. Did I tell you I enjoyed the food.
A little disappointed with my food should've taken a picture but I've ordered boneless chicken chunks with pfr and it was dark meet normally it's white meat 🍖...But overall the food is ok.
The food was really good, but the steaks are paper thin! Looks like they take 1 steak and put through the slicer to make 3 out of 1!
Although the food is pretty good, the service is TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!! The men stand around your table while you are eating. They watch you count your cash when ready to pay for the check and they EXPECT a tip. It’s like they force it out of you. This is not how a business should be conducted. Two stars for service / four stars for food.
I tried this restaurant based on the raving reviews about this place. It turns out that these are fake reviews. I went there on the run after a long day of traveling. Well, I hesitated when I saw a B grade on the window! I decided to give it a try and regret it. The food was horrible and salty. The tostones were stale and dry. Also, this place has nothing Cuban about it. My mom ordered pollo guisado and it looked gross. This was my first and last time stepping into this place!
The say the close at 10:pm we arrived at 9:05pm And they say only for to go.,and the restaurant was empty,.I told him we was from NJ he didn't care about it. He was very arrogant and rude Customer service.
I would usually order from here , however last week I went in and ordered food to go there was gentleman sitting in the stool that you could see inside the kitchen and he saw the cook smoking with a cigarette in his mouth !! That is disgusting to have someone in the kitchen cooking food with a cigarette in his mouth !!! Yuck I walked right out and didn't buy anything from them ... I will not be buying anything from this place again .. Beware you might have ashes from cigarettes in your food !!! Yuck 🤮 🤢
food was not to my liking and very expensive
The food is very delicious and great setting, but the waiters are very hostile and very aggressive when it comes to tipping and ordering.i would like to sit down and wash my hands 1st before i get attack with a menu and getting mean mug by the waiters behind the counter looking at me with a very judgmental face. They also have a lot of hidden fees. This is why i don't tip they could fool you but not me I'm from the streets.
We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had the ribs with pork fried rice. It was salty. I did not like the ribs I got mostly fat and bone barely any pork. Also the waiter wasn't polite he had an attitude. To top it off We paid cash and they didn't give us back our change and then I tipped him separately. How can you take ppls money bcus you feel intitled? We felt rob and we will never go here again. If you needed the money you ask not just keep it thinking it belongs to you.
Went in to do take out, got two orders (shrimp and broccoli combination plate) my order in total came out to $30. When going to the register to pay with cash, cashier told me my order was $40? After being confused and doing the math myself I or course called him out on it. Their reasoning was that they’re charging almost $10 in taxes!?!? Mind you I am paying with CASH. $10 in taxes? That’s absurd and felt lie they were trying to scam me. I can go to an actual Chinese restaurant and feed my whole family with $40. Will never be coming here again. No wonder it was so empty
I decided to order takeout from this place, even though they had a grade B. And the fish tanks near the window full of algae and mold.. still I decided to order takeout when I received my food. The white rice wasn’t even white. It had stuff in it. I guess it was cooked with meat also the portion side was too small for the price. Never ordering from here again.
