Rolen Bagels

Nice bagel shop. Love their bagel with lox slices. I wish tomatoes and red onions weren't 50 cents each to add-on. Coffee wasn't great. I am currently impressed by how they've implemented social distancing practices to help keep their employees and their customers safe during this ongoing pandemic.

I have lived in this neighborhood for 6 years. I have a myriad of health issues, including being hearing impaired. I have a service dog and have had some very good and VERY bad experiences with him being allowed in businesses in this neighborhood. It is humiliating to be told to leave an establishment because you are in need of assistance. If the owners of Rolen are reading this, please let me tell you how wonderful your staff are. The first time I went into Rolen I prepared myself to have that experience, as I have so often. It was such a relief and a joy to be greeted with a smile and asked how they could help me. I became a loyal customer that very moment. Your staff always treat me like a normal person and I can't tell you how much that means to me. Although this sounds like standard customer service, I find that lacking in most places these days. You can be sure I will be at Rolen every Sunday for my weekly fix of your delicious bagels. Thank you so much.

Delicious homemade bagels! We tried the everything bagel with plain cream cheese. Served nice and warm. Coffee was good too, regular but not cheap coffee.

Cute quaint establishment. The young man preparing the bagels was very accommodating and polite. The gentleman making the money transactions was very patient and courteous. Quick, accurate, respectful and the food was delicious. What more could you ask for?

Love this bagel place. The location is take out only, due to COVID, but the line moves fast and the staff is great! Tried their everything bagel with lox spread and wow! Definitely going to be a regular and this will most likely be the usual. Highly recommend!

And the spins on morning staples were refreshing and welcomed. Definitely will be adding to the rotation of occasion breakfast runs.

Amazing bagels 🥯 made to order as per your specifications. This place is going to be a regular stop for me. The bagel was very tasty, the multiple cream cheese flavor options get me really excited. I had jalapeño cream cheese with scallion cream cheese with tomatoes 🍅 onions. It over exceeded my expectations with flavor.

This local bagel shop is AWESOME. The muffins are to die for and the salt twist bagel toasted with Tofutti cream cheese was SO good (and was spread on thicc) Thankful they have that vegan option. The staff is always friendly and talkative and everything seems very high quality :)

Wanted to get some New York bagels before heading back to Pennsylvania. These did not disappoint!! So good! Friendly service too. Will definitely go back next time we go back to visit our kid at Manhattan University!

I occasionally stop by for a bagel with some speciality cream cheese and a regular coffee. Even though there is usually a long line of people waiting the staff is very efficient and friendly. The coffee and pastries are worth the short wait.

Reliable bagel, egg, and cheese. Bialys also on point. Definitely crowded and a bit disorganized but the food is generally pretty good.

A great bagel. Don't go for an egg sandwich here; it's just not their thing. Get any bagel and any flavor cream cheese and you'll be happy. This is a Kosher establishment (closed on the Sabbath and food prepared in a cleanly fashion).

Rolen Bagels has potential to be a great bagel shop, their short coming in my opinion is that they are doing everything by the books. A little invention in bagel type, creative cream cheeses or specialty coffee drinks would bring a whole new element to this Riverdale Institution. It is a little on the pricey side as far as bagel shops go. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. Sunlight floods in from the tall windows, sit down here as it is a great place to study.

Nice place. Only need to clean the utensils. used to smear the cream cheese. I ordered Honey buttered whole grain bagel, I tasted a little onions or something . It leads me to believe that they need to wipe the knife off or wash utensils between service.

I went to the other Rolens bagel shop on 235th & Netherland Av., since this shop was closed on the Sabbath. While I was in the shop, I saw a woman worker or manager abuse one of the men workers in front of the customers, that you do not do in front of customers!!!! I intervened & asked her why is she being a bully & she replied that I was none of my business & a disgrace to mankind!!! Then she threw the bag of bagels at me, there was no call for that & Ieft the store!!! I beleive this person has multiple personal issues with the help in the store as well as being nice & polite with the customers!! I do not believe that Lenny Rolen would tolerate such behavior from an employee!!!

Their "everything" bagels need more "everything" on them. They're always super fresh and hot, but aren't mind blowing. FYI, they're strict kosher, so they're closed Saturday and for all the holidays.

Bagels are like rubber, not as fresh and hard to chew on. What is going on? So disappointed. I have been going to this place for years. Sadly I will not longer be..

Can’t order a breakfast sandwich because they don’t have meat. Everything bagel only had toppings on one side and just had a few sad onions among some sesame and poppy seeds. At least the texture was pretty good.

First time I had an everything bagel from here it was very good.. Just had another everything bagel with egg and cheese. Horrible!! They microwave the eggs and didn't even put the cheese. Waste of my money!! Might come back for a bagel with nothing on it, maybe.

I was really surprised at how average the bagel was and how little whitefish they put on it. I've never been in a bagel shop where they spread whitefish on as if it were a schmear of cream cheese. The whitefish was also very basic... Nothing special at all. The guy behind the counter serving me was less than personable. I expected a greeting, or a smile, or some sort of indication that he was thrilled I was there and that he had a job. I got none of that. I had high expectations of these owners and I was very disappointed. Honestly I think they're only still open because there's not a lot of competition over there.

Do Not Go to this place... They give Fake Bills to the customers having the purple light bulb and didn't accept it... I came here on 02/12 visiting a friend in Riverdale. He told me, hey let's go to eat something. He as a local suggested me that place. I order a Pastrami Queen and paid with a 100$ bill. I received 85$ change and I didn't checked it. Back in home I check the bills and I received 2 20$ fake ones. They close super early so I didn't have time to go back on Monday. When I arrive I told them what happens. They didn't believe me and called the owner. The owner denies it completely that they do that to their customers... We had a discussion about it and he even threatened me to call the police and see what happens with his attitude... Dude, do you think that I have time for this??? Do you think that I would risk my reputation on Google reviews and lying to you about what your crew members did? even in the cash register is a camera. He just basically tell me: I would give you one 20$ bill and no more... Avoiding accountability and non professional behaviour. Ok man, First time and last to this unethical and irresponsible place...

I went to this place to buy a mini bagel. There’s a girl behind the counter making my bagel but I can’t see her hands. When she walked over to hand me my bagel, She had dirty old hanging bandaids on most of her fingers. No glove!!!!!! It looked disgusting.

I was always pleased with the food from here until today. I ordered a whole wheat everything bagel with cream cheese and toppings, and was given a stale, plain whole wheat bagel that tasted truly awful. I’m so upset and not sure I’ll be back

On Sundays, the service is terrible. The people who work on Sundays are completely unprofessional; you order something, and they give you whatever they want.
