Opinions de Ample Hills Creamery Brooklyn
If you’re looking for a classic yet elevated American ice cream shop, look no further. The best classic flavours with a slight twist and also decadent flavours if you’re looking for something extra rich. Every flavour is so creamy and decadent. My fave is the mint patty mint chip, a bit more indulgent than a regular mint chip but that’s what makes it!
Have been meaning to write this review for a minute but, I absolutely love Ample Hills and specifically this location. Major shoutout to Isaiah and Terrione who are a breath of fresh air with wonderful, generous spirits. I am deeply grateful to both of them for making my week when I got some absolutely awful news. Come here, it's wonderful! The ooey gooey butter cake and the strawberries and cream is my favorite balance of tart and sweet. Lord knows, even though it's freezing at the moment, I will be returning very soon.
love ample hills, the ice cream is so good! had some great customer service today and the most delicious ice cream (as always, post gooey butter cake & salty kisses and caramel wishes) i heard the salted caramel is temporary? please keep it! also noticed that the ice cream freezer may need to be a bit colder? regardless, love this place and will keep coming back again and again and again
Honestly these ice cream flavors are the most genuine tasting ice creams I’ve Ever eaten! The PBJ it’s like the sandwich rolled up in an ice cream ball! The banana pudding was to die for! The captain my captain was literally captain crunch with ice cream perfectly infused! We got the flight and tasted 6 flavors all Of them were great! Will be coming back quite often!!!
I always liked the salted crack caramel flavor. Haven’t been into Ample Hills since the last collapse, and now they no longer have the outlet next to the nighthawk in Windsor Terrace. Anyway, I went into the Vanderbilt store today and had the caramel kisses – or something like that. Expensive but Indescribably delicious!
This is what it’s all about: an ice cream store with a vision, a mission, a way of being in the world. The ownership changes over time are sad, but its legacy remains strong: wildly delicious flavors that please the mind, the body, and the soul. I always get peppermint patty these days, because it’s so tasty, but I’ve had perhaps a dozen flavors over the years and have never been disappointed. The cherry on top? It’s named for a Walt Whitman line.
Great ice cream with tons of options (24 with 3 vegan), many with mix-ins. Wonderful texture (slightly stretchy), perfect sweetness and robust flavors. Prices are decent ($7 for 2 scoops), with flight being the best deal (6 smaller scoops for $8). They allow sampling. Our favorites were the cotton candy (spirulina so natural color), ooey gooey butter cake and guava. All of them were pretty good.
An obviously sweet spot to grab a multitude of unique flavors in the smack dab center of Prospect Heights. A local favorite known for delivering the goods, and enough flavors to satisfy even the most peculiar sort of craving. Pints to go, merchandise for sale, and family friendly. Go off peak hours to skip the lines.
Who doesn’t like ice cream, and especially if it’s Ample Hills? When you enter this ice cream parlor, you are in for a treat. It is bright and airy, with a Vermont country-style ambience. There is a generous selection of the Ample-Hills flavors, as well as milk shakes, coffee, tea, take-out pints, and lovely Ample Hills merchandise. Nice indoor seating is available, as well as outdoor benches and chairs. Not too crowded until about 6pm, when the evening crowds come for their ice cream dessert. Very crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings. There can be a long line of hungry customers out onto the street. But don’t let that deter you.

Service was alright. The lightings were dim. The ice cream, coffee w/ toffee and vanilla, was okay and short of amazing. The homemade waffle cone was too sweet.
Went to evening function after a daytime wedding. They have a roof top for private affairs. The ice creams are homemade are novel and very good.
The place was packed…and I mean crowded. There was about a 15 minute wait. And in all honesty, the ice cream is mediocre. I would not have wait. The ice cream is also expensive. Cold Stone Creamery” it is not. It is not better than “Häagen-Dazs” “Bryers” or “Turkey Hill.” Overrated AF! The servers were pretty friendly and moved as fast as can be to address the needs of the crowd. Yes, crowd lol.

Very pricey ice cream shop, but delicious if you want a yummy treat near Prospect Park. You know the prices will be epic if the business calls itself a creamery instead of an ice cream shop.

First time at the Ample Hill Creamery. This ice cream was good, but I’ve had better. Also it was a little pricey.
Rude staff and the ice cream used to be better. It is very strange for an ice cream shop to be unwelcoming to families and kids.

I’ve been coming here 13 years. The ice cream is still of the same delicious quality, but it’s $8 for a small cone, a single scoop with one flavor. The recent flavor changes is an atrocious nod to the lack of care management has these days. I still go.. for the ice cream.
Absolutely horrible experience here. The workers were incredibly rude tonight. Multiple delivery drivers came in to pick up orders, and the staff repeatedly — and quite degradingly — barked at them to join the line. The line was nearly curled around the entire space; you are forcing these people to wait on line AND NOT GET PAID WHILE DOING IT. This business exploits workers. I couldn’t help as a customer but notice how disrespectful they treated delivery drivers. They should be ashamed of themselves. What was once a nice, friendly space now feels like a total trap. I am disheartened and will not be returning.
Very good ice cream but the customer serve was not good!!! We paid 25$ for 3 scoops separately when we could have paid 11$ for 6 scoops together. We said something and he just said oh yeah. lol weird ice cream was good though but lost employee.
I was so excited to try Ample Hills Creamery after hearing about their supposedly amazing ice cream. And yes, the ice cream itself was delicious - creamy, flavorful, and unique. But that's where any enjoyment of my visit ended. The staff was unbelievably rude from the moment I walked in. Eye rolls, sighs, and snippy responses when I asked questions about flavors. They acted like my presence was a massive inconvenience to them. And don't even think about using their bathroom - not even to wash your hands after eating sticky ice cream! When I asked to use the facilities, I was treated like I'd requested to rob their safe. Absolutely unacceptable for a food establishment to deny basic hygiene. No matter how good the ice cream is, I cannot and will not return to a place with such atrocious customer service. Save yourself the frustration and find another ice cream shop that understands the concept of basic human decency.
Today was a rather disappointing visit, I must say. I am a regular who loves the ice cream here. However, today we brought my youngest child to celebrate for their birthday and buy ice cream. The customer service left much to be desired as I was misgendered and when I corrected the staff member, he stared at me with a blank face as though he was inconvenienced and did not offer any apology, in addition, I believe that their freezers are not up to the proper temperature code as all of our ice creams begin to melt almost instantly. In the pictures below, you can see that they are like soup. I unfortunately did not get a picture of my oatmeal cookie ice cream because it began to drip like a faucet of water and I threw it out, I am aware that it is warm outside, but they have to do something about their freezers. Maybe closing the side door would be a start, versus letting the 90° air in. It was a complete waste of money. Nobody wants soupy ice cream. I do not know the name of the employee who was rude to me, but he is a black gentleman and he was working today on the 17th at 5:44 PM. Also, I pray you guys bring back the snap mallow pop flavor. I’d be happy to get a scoop at a different location with better service and well temped ice cream.
