Opinions de Bird Pepper Brooklyn
I had an amazing experience at Bird Pepper! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious fresh. Our server, Nesha, truly made the experience even better. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her positive attitude and great energy did not go unnoticed! I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending Bird Pepper to others. Great food, great service, and an all-around wonderful experience
I absolutely loved this place! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the eye-catching sign and logo. The atmosphere inside was warm and inviting, with beautiful decor and thoughtfully arranged seating. The staff was incredibly friendly, and our waiter was attentive, respectful, and had a wonderful energy. The food was outstanding my oxtails, rice and peas, and vegetables were all delicious and beautifully presented. I also adored the Caribbean theme, and the artwork and exposed brick added so much character. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I can't wait to return!
Second time here and Bird Pepper never misses! The food, drinks, and vibes are consistently good. We had Ailka as our waitress and she made sure the experience was positive. The food and drinks came on time and Alika helped us with the best options for food/desserts! Will definitely come back again!
Went as a group of 16 and we were accommodated greatly; from seating to service absolutely top tier.. the music and vibes were great even though we were downstairs.. the food was absolutely authentic island flavours.. we all got different food and there were no complaints- there was either a cleared plate or a to-go box, truly delicious; and the cocktails were great. Would definitely go again.
The atmosphere was laid back and great. Our waitress was amazing. Very attentive and super pleasant! The food however was the STAR OF THE SHOW. My goodness, everything was super tasty! I love a good Burger and I find that often times medium isn't done well. They nailed it!!! My friend that I had brunch with had the salmon, coconut rice and peas and the Sautéed kale. I was skeptical about the kale because it is something that people often don't do a good job with when cooked. I was absolutely stunned at how unfathomably delicious the kale was. It is actually the best I ever had!!! I give them a 10/10 definitely recommend!
Bird Pepper Restaurant was an absolute 10 out of 10 across the board! We had the seafood roti, Bird Pepper pasta with oxtail, and rum punch, and every single bite was amazing. The seasoning was perfectly on point in all the dishes—rich, flavorful, and authentic. The DJ in the background had us dancing in our seats the entire time, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was incredible, vibrant, and full of Caribbean energy. On top of that, the service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. If you’re craving a true taste of the Caribbean, Bird Pepper is the restaurant to choose. We’ll definitely be back! 🌴🔥
Absolutely gorgeous restaurant, sweet and attentive staff, one/two punch rum punches and knock your socks off flavorful food. Can't wait to party with Bird Pepper and crew tomorrow at Kwanzaa Crawl! This restaurant will be my go to for Caribbean food and favorite Brooklyn haunt. 😍
The service was great it was a walk in of 8 person and even though we didn't have a reservation and they were fully booked they work out something for us and we were able to eat and have a great time. As for the Simpsons restaurant and bar that we had originally planned to go they literally kicked us out saying they dont do walk in and we didn't have a reservation so we can't stay or wait inside even though I had called and the host did tell me they didn't have any tables available for that day and time and I specifically ask if we can do a walk in she said yes just that it might be a 45mins wait time and I said ok no problem. My birthday dinner was saved by bird pepper restaurant and their food was really good. Thank you soooooo much.
I finally got the chance to try Bird Pepper, a Caribbean restaurant located just two blocks from Barclays Center, and it did not disappoint! The décor is beautiful and creates such a welcoming atmosphere. I started with the sampler appetizer which came with wings, a salmon cake, coconut-crusted corn, and jerk shrimp everything was full of flavor, but the corn was my favorite. Their frozen rum punch is also a winner! For my entrée, I had the lamb chops with mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, and mac & cheese on the side. It was cooked perfectly I actually found myself licking my fingers, which is rare! My friends had the stew snapper (not a single bone left) and the seafood roti stuffed with shrimp, salmon, and lobster in curry sauce, topped with sweet plantains. Both dishes were outstanding. This is hands-down one of my Top 10 restaurants in Brooklyn. Highly recommend! Birthday Celebrations are a must here🦾
Bird Pepper is 🔥the interior is gorgeous and spacious. Nesha is often my server and she’s amazing; she knows the menu well and is so great to have. My favorite items to get are the: - Happy Hour Rum Punches (Frozen-they pack a punch so drink responsibly) - Pineapple Jerk Wing - Oxtail Entree; the veggies are super fresh and the rice is amazinggg. I think a Haitian person is back there making that rice. On Fridays, a DJ starts a little earlier and gets people groovin’. Honestly, such a staple to that area and I’m definitely a big fan. If you like Carribbean food-check out Bird Pepper.
I stopped by this restaurant on a Thursday evening after seeing some buzz on TikTok, and they did not disappoint. The ambience was super cute—small but cozy, with a really nice vibe. Our waitress, Bella, was an absolute gem. She was attentive, accommodating, and kept checking in to make sure we were happy with our food. Even though she seemed to be handling a lot on her own, she never missed a beat and didn’t get a single detail of our order wrong. The food was delicious and so suggest the sample platter for appetizer, that coconut crusted corn is bussin and them jerk pineapple wings had just enough kick! The drinks were definitely hitting, and the overall energy of the place was great. I’d absolutely come back, especially since I’ve heard their brunch is popular (just be prepared for it to get busy on weekends). If you go, I highly recommend asking for Bella—she’ll take good care of you!
I had the garlic bbq wings and fries along with some amazing drinks. The waitress was so amazing and the space is beautiful. I just which they had a Dj or great playlist during brunch
Bird Pepper is a new Caribbean spot downtown Bk on Flatbush. The look/decor is very nice. Its spacious. It has a modern appeal. The staff members are friendly. The music was good. They had a DJ. The service was a bit slow. That is really the biggest drawback. The food is the really good. Creole pasta with oxtail is a yes for me!! I don't like grits but two ppl at my table ordered grits and I have to admit their meals were tasty. One pertain ordered the grits with oxtail. Another ordered creole grits with salmon. Both kinda skimp pn the protein but if you like cheesy grits you will enjoy. For a sweet dish, a absolutely get the coconut crusted French toast. Things you can pass on: the pancakes- had 2 orders at the table and both were dubs. One person ordered the bake and salt fish. She returned it bc the dish was too salty according to her. Apps were decent. I was satisfied with the salmon cakes. Wings were average. Shrimp was good. Overall, its a good place. I would return!
I visited Bird Pepper for brunch and had a great experience. We made reservations ahead of time, so we were seated right away with no wait. For appetizers, we tried the crab cakes (you get two) and the coconut shrimp (four jumbo shrimp). Both were enjoyable, though the coconut shrimp was a bit on the oily side. For drinks, I ordered a frozen rum punch, which came in a generous-sized glass and—especially for a frozen drink—really packed a punch. For my entrée, I had the chicken and pomegranate waffles. The waffles had a nice flavor, and the chicken was good as well, though I personally could’ve used just a bit more salt. The rest of my group said they enjoyed their dishes too. I believe the restaurant has a downstairs area, though I didn’t get a chance to check it out. There’s also a bar at the front if you just want to stop in for a drink. Also, there’s only one bathroom on the main floor which can make wait time for the bathroom kinda long. Overall, Bird Pepper is a nice spot to visit for brunch or dinner.
The food was overall pretty decent to good. The red snapper could use a tad more seasoning. It's just a fried mild fish. My problem was the service. The menu says fried snapper any way you want it, plantains, coconut rice and beans & seasonal veggies for 45 dollars. When the waitress took my order she asked did I want plantains OR veggies. I said the menu says & which is and. She said no it does not and no one else ever had a problem. I said well that's not what the menu says. I ordered my option. She left. I then asked the host for the manager after explaining the discrepancy in the menu and what I was told. The host goes and tells the waitress who comes back annoyed and says I'm accusing her of lying proceeds to show me her waitress keyboard. I said it may say that on your machine but on the menu it says and. She left then proceeded to ignore me the rest of the evening only speaking to the person I was with until the end when she asked to take my plate. Then made a big deal of being extra nice to my friend while ignoring me. My mistake was not asking for the menu to show her because I was already annoyed at how she spoke to me. Even a basic carribean place gives you rice and veggies with two plantains so I don't know why she made such a big deal. I think she was unfamiliar with the menu. Overall it was a good vibe with the DJ although loud so you have to raise your voice to speak across the table. The food is pretty decent although I wish she had told me what other ways I could have had the snapper prepared as I was unfamiliar so what I got looked different from the menu. My friends said the beef was amazing. The sides were pretty good. I just wish the service was more attentive and prioritize customer satisfaction. At the front when you come in the man stayed on his phone the entire time never looking up to acknowledge or greet us. When we left he was still on his phone. Customer service can make or break an experience. Although it's a nice place for mid pricing service could be better since 18% tip is already included. They should provide top tier service and not treat you as a bother for over 50 dollars a plate for some snapper.
Did a reservation 1st time for my wife's birthday. Beautiful atmosphere, deejay was dropping them 90s and early 2000s dancehall hits. Seated right away. Would recommend getting a reservation. Started ordering our appetizers (sampler) and drinks but they weren't any mocktail options (my wife does not drink alcohol but love the fancy drinks). Do hope some are incorporated in their drinks menu for the future. My drink-old fashion- both were made different, could've taste the pour was off and missing garnish in the 2nd drink. We were sitting there for a while and realized no appetizer was coming for our table. Eventually asked the server about it and he claimed we didnt place any order for appetizer. Few minutes later, our entrée came and we still asked for the appetizer. The food was grate and for that, the atmosphere and the music, we plan on returning sometime in the future to give it another try. Oh, due to the mishap with the appetizer, our desserts were free. We appreciate that much.
This is my first time writing a negative review but, I am still shocked by the events that transpired. I found this place while searching for something to eat before a concert. I loved the aesthetic and was excited to try the food. Unfortunately I was not given that opportunity. My friends ordered and since I was not sure asked for another moment, the waitress returned with a drink for my friend (2 min later) I decided to order chicken wings and French fries. We were having a great time despite not being offered water or asked for another drink the entire time we sat we didn’t mind. My friends food came out 15 min passed and nothing I then tried to get our waitress’s attention and couldn’t so got up and walked over and asked if my food would be out, she preceded to ask me what I had order goes over to the computer and then tells me it will be 10 more minutes I let her know I unfortunately could not wait because of a concert I was going to see was going to begin and asked to cancel the order. She said there was nothing she could do and brought out the food 2 min after while we were trying to pay to leave. I told her I would not be eating and asked if it could be taken off our receipt she refused, and so we asked for a manager. Instead of getting a manager she came back with the updated receipt. Making the entire encounter an unpleasant experience. It’s truly unfortunate because the food looked and smelled amazing but I personally will never return after being treated so poorly.
