Excellent customer service. The Food was tasty and right on time!... This establishment has donated food to the hospital workers here at Interfaith Medical Center working tirelessly to help those in need during the pandemic!... What a great way to service the community in which they serve... Thank you for your compassionate contribution El Jeffe❤️
Came here for a quick bite and Really enjoyed the jerk pork taco. I also had the frozen margarita which as strong but tasty n good. Now that sangria was perfect strong fruity but light n sweet. Ask for a sample they won't mind. All staff were friendly. I will be back.
I love love loveeee El jeffe’s, I originally thought it was like a ‘fast food’ spot for tacos but I was wrong! The ingredients are fresh, the staff is great, and everything is always packed nicely. The only thing is I wish they had more space inside. Love you guys!
The jerk pork rice bowls are amazing. Nice kick of jerk spices. If you get it with pineapple, it's at the bottom of the rice, black beans, then topped with jerk pork, lettuce, and a drizzle of a creamy sauce. On the sides are diced tomatoes wit fresh herbs, and guacamole on the other side. It's all hearty servings, for $9. The food is always hot, and cool service. I believe they are a family, the children (young adults) are always friendly. Been here a couple times, no complaints and will go back again. Oh the El Jeffe drink is AMAZING, there's alcohol in it, they aren't light handed on it, and it's a pretty nice size cup, a bit expensive, but if you want a good drink that does the job and can spare the $15, treat yourself one good time.
Food is delicious. Fresh ingredients made when ordered. Hope they keep it up. Place is small. Not a lot of seating. The frozen margarita/sangria patron is a must have. But if driving only drink one.
This is my 3rd time enjoying the delicious food and wonderful customer service here. The fish tacos and jerk tacos are my favorite. Tasty, well seasoned, great sauces. The portions are perfect.
I did not have the food yet, but I am already impressed by the service. Walked by on Sunday, June 23 not knowing they won't open on Sunday until after 7/4. They were having a private bday event for a worker and me and my friends and 2 other passerbys were offered to come in for a drink on the house. Had frozen sangrita, which was good. Also checked out the backyard, which was very cute. They will be doing events over the summer, and the warm welcome will definitely have me back to check out more.
The young lady at the register that served me and my cousin was lovely. Her customer service was excellent. I didn't catch her name but she was pregnant. Please keep her at the register she makes me want to come back again, Also the food was excellent we had shrimp and steak nachos and I had to get a order to take home. It was so flavorful. Oh and let me not forget the Frozen drinks were hitting. I will be back again. We found this place after shopping.
Great tacos! Our favorites were definitely the jerk pork, fried shrimp and steak tacos. The fried shrimp aren't heavily battered but they still have a great texture to go with the slaw and pickled onions. It tastes sweet as a bite overall, but I love following up the loaded steak tacos with the fried shrimp.
I go here every week like an addict. The staff are a bunch of gorgeous (I mean helpful) men. And the tacos and margaritas are nothing short of amazing!
This place is fantastic. Some of the best tacos I’ve had in New York. Exceptionally friendly staff from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. They gave us free nachos to enjoy while waiting for our tacos as well. I can’t recommend enough! Love this place.
This is really one of my favorite places to visit great food, amazing staff always a good vibe. I love it here lol If you’re in the area check them out…
Very good food and drinks. Service is quick and staff are polite and friendly. I've loved everything I have tried.
I usually have pics but I don't for this review because their shrimp tacos do not make it passed being handed to me and being put directly into my face. Grilled or fried doesn't matter, they are what you (or at least I) envision when I think Shrimp Taco. So freaking good.
My first time eating there today and the Jerk tacos was as awesome as I heard about them! The margaritas was very good. The service was great and didn't take long to receive my order. I will definitely be going back to eat there again this week. Highly recommend.
Highly recommend!!! Excellent staff, the Food is Perfection!!!
I’m so glad I found this delicious restaurant! I was greeted by a FOINE brother who looks just like the actor Nate Parker😊 He recommended the tacos, so I ordered a fish taco, Boss Nachos and a chkn quesadilla. I got a shrimp taco instead, but it was so delicious, I didn’t complain about the mixup. The Boss nachos was very tasty and crispy- I absolutely loved it! The quesadilla was ok but I’ll try the burrito next time since I prefer more flavors. This will definitely be my go to spot whenever I’m near Fulton street!
Nah the tacos though ??? TOP 5 THE BEST !! The steak, jerk AND fried chicken tacos was amazing ! I am not a fan of Cole slaw but the slaw that came on the jerk taco was a really great combination. I’ll definitely go back, maybe even 3 times in one week ! Lol .. Costumer service was great too !
Best tacos in Brooklyn! The fried shrimp with a flour shell; delish!!
The best black Mexican taco store in town
I was visiting a friend in NYC (im from the west coast) and on my first night in town, we went and got burritos here. Their fried chicken burrito was so good that I couldn’t stop thinking about it so I had to go back and get another one the day before I left for home. The guys there were super nice and even remembered the name I gave them for my order. Pretty sure I might have to fly back just to get another one of those burritos:)
Food is great. Service is good. The waiting area is tight. Order ahead.
The food is great staff is friendly I recommend people to come every time but my heart is broken cause why is it temporarily closed 💔💔
Eating at El Jeffe was a great experience. Although it was busy, the friendly staff found time to learn about the allergies of my kid and tailor-made a meal. I didn’t do look into the place and thought that this was dinner but it’s mostly a take-our and has only a couple of seats. Didn’t matter: there was enough space and food was incredible. Highly recommended.
El Jeffe, these were SO GOOD!!! Just had the best tacos in a long while, the jerk pork was my favorite! And the shrimp was🔥had the steak too and had to get a jerk pork quesadilla to go and got a grilled chicken burrito to take home for niece. The pineapple juice was really good, my friend didn’t like the passion juice though, didn’t taste like passion, thanks for the pineapple refill. I’ll be back! #SmallBusinessSummer supporting #BlackBusiness
Great staff, great music, great food. The jerk pork burrito was amazing (with pineapple), great spice level. The coco flavored rice delivers extra flavor. Loved the spirit there.
I love this place however sometimess at night they rush your food and the quality is very poor ! I went back and forth picking up burnt food covered in sauce instead of just communicating with me yall couldn’t cook the food again which was extremely insulting luckily the next day AB saved the day with his great hospitality and customer service ! Deserves a raise
I stumbled upon El Jeffe for lunch and indulged in their mouthwatering grilled chicken salad. Hands down, it's the best I've ever had! The flavors were expertly balanced, rendering dressings unnecessary. As someone who dislikes dry salads, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous topping and refreshing mix. *Standout Features* - Pico and pickled onions combo: absolute perfection! - Grilled chicken: tender and juicy - Queso chips (complimentary as a first-time guest): addictive! *Highly Recommended* El Jeffe has earned a loyal customer! Their attention to detail and commitment to quality shine through. Don't miss this hidden gem!
I really enjoyed the jerk pork burrito. It was not too spicy so I would have enjoyed it more if it came with spicy salsa on the side. I think you can order that separately.
If you are searching for good food in Brooklyn this is the place to go to. The food is consistently delicious. I have tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, I have not been able to try of the frozen drinks yet but I hear from fellow patrons that they are also perfect. Aside from great food the staff is friendly and professional and I always look forward to visiting this restaurant when I am working in the area.
Second Review: Every chance I get I try to get tacos 🌮 from this spot which is every FRIDAY after Pilates. Had and enjoyed the El Jeffe beverage with the Jerk Pork and the Fried Fish. Enjoyed it all‼️. Week after week the customer service gets better. Food, drinks, atmosphere, etc. is a whole vibe. A total recommendation, everyone is friendly and beautiful and the drinks hit. Go for the MOJITOs any flavor (Preferably coconut) made with love from ANI or ONI a.k.a Agnieska.
This place keeps bringing people back. The restaurant maintains positive vibes throughout. The staff delivers remarkable attention. Their costs make sense and meals show freshness. I found a wonderful spot and plan to visit often.
It was super delicious, good prices, friendly stuff, nice music and enough place to seat and eat! I can totally recommend
THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM !!! The best service i ever received living in NYC my whole entire life. The food was 10 out 10 the jerk pork tacos were out of this world. The front of us to the back were attentive and kept checking up on us. When i say you need to visit i mean it. Also it is BLACK OWNED let’s support and show love to this amazing establishment.
This place deserves all the amazing reviews that it has. We stopped by to pick up lunch after our Airbnb owner recommended it and it was so amazing. We ordered the Steak Bowls and the staff were so friendly and nice. We visited on Valentine’s Day and they even came outside and gave us valentine donuts!! Such an amazing and cute place. Highly recommend!
I looked at my bank statements for 2025 and yall have most of my money. The food has been consistent and sooo good for years! Customer service is great, quick and very friendly! Music poppin, food is fresh and made quickly. Always clean, They don’t play. Love it!
Genuinely some of the best tacos in the city. No idea what they put into their batter, but I'm obsessed with their shrimp and fish tacos. Their jerk tacos are incredible too. You can't go wrong with whatever you order hwre.
Love this place. The food is a great mix of Mexican and West Indian flavours, and it’s super affordable. The staff are always in great spirits and really welcoming - oh, and they make their chips fresh on site. A great option for something quick, easy and tasty.
I ordered the jerk pork bowl which was very good. The pork was tender and it was not very spicy, for people who aren't looking for overpowering spices. The portion was good and the guacamole and nachos were excellent. I will definitely return to El Jeffe.
The jerk pork burrito here is a flavor explosion! Tender, spicy pork wrapped with fragrant rice, beans, and fresh toppings—it's a perfect balance of smoky heat and satisfying heartiness. The spices dance on your taste buds, leaving you craving more. A must-try for burrito lovers seeking something bold and unforgettable! Truly enjoyed it with guac on the side super dope!
Very good, clean, and professional. Everyone inside was friendly, polite, and helpful. The food was fresh and really good. I had steak & Chicken nachos without Pico and the owner had me try a shrimp taco- which was VERY good. I also enjoyed the frozen sangria. There are a few stools where you can eat inside. Idk if they have a back patio for the warmer days (should've asked) but it's great for takeout also. Very organized. I'll be back!!!! I have to do better with food pics bc I really start tearing it up before I can snap something. Sorry guys.
I used to go here a lot when I lived in the area but moved to another area last year. I went today while waiting for an appointment, and they did not disappoint. I usually always got tacos before but decided on a salad today. That’s the most shrimp I’ve ever had on a salad in nyc for that price, and it was cooked to perfection. They don’t know I’m obsessed with pickled anything, so the pickled onions were 🤌🏾! The cilantro dressing is also really good and they gave me extra without charging me. And, as usual, the frozen Margarito did what it was supposed to do! Only took one point off for atmosphere since they’re redoing the outdoor seating and the inside doesn’t have much seating. The service is great though and the crew is very friendly. Please reopen the Flatbush location!
Walked inside this cute cozy Taco joint called El Jeffe (The Boss) for the first time and their customer service is well inviting, with some cool friendly employees who are great. I got 2 veggie tacos for a great price ($4 each ) their prices are fairly. There’s side pick up and wheelchair accessibility
Pretty good tacos, the drinks were cool but man does this place get crowded! Wish they made the counter smaller and made more of a seating area. Mostly tight, tight standing room only. They need to increase the space or revamp that counter taking up the entire store. Tvs, drinks and tacos, can't go wrong!
I had the shrimp and fish tacos. They were some of the best seafood tacos I’ve ever had. The food is a bit expensive but overall, I was very satisfied.
Tacos were great! Jeffe drink was awesome! However, I ordered a rice bowl and the rice was undercooked... was very disappointed about that and since I was in queens, NY by the time I realized it was too late to bring it back so I don't recommend anything with rice. Customer service is great! Weekends are busy so I suggest ordering ahead of time if you are not having it delivered! The alcoholic beverages are not on uber eats so I suggest picking up your order. If it wasn't for the rice I would of gave them 5 stars for the food and customer service
The tacos are Bomb! Servers are fast and friendly, and they always hook me up with extra sauce😁. I suggest the fried Chicken taco and the shrimp taco,Yum! The jerk pork taco is good but very spicy so beware. I always see people getting their drinks I have never ordered any.
The food is Outstanding Great. Honestly
The food is good, but the portions are small for the price. Frozen alcoholic drinks taste good. I'm giving it 4 stars because I thought it was more of a sociable place. It's just a place you get lunch. The pics on google are deceptive.
Came here when I saw the sign for lunch deal. They had $5 tortas that day and I got the beef and shrimp. The portions were perfect for lunch size and were really different and delicious. Service was a little slow and I would say they don't have a huge variety of options. But whatever they have they do well and it tastes great. Service is super friendly too and the place looks cute with the multi colored bar stools and wood interiors. I definitely recommend checking it out.
First off, let me say this establishment can easily get 5 stars for their food alone. Great Tacos, even better Taco Tuesday special, but the location suffers from spacing. Regardless, I predict lines will be out the door come good weather. Their drinks are very good too. I recommend the frozen margarita, although I heard the frozen sangria with Henny is really good too!
The frozen sangria was absolutely delicious. The jerk pork burrito was okay, I’m not sure I would order it again. The service was fast and efficient.
The service is great, the food was decent, the grilled fish taco was nasty, the shrimp taco was okay, the jerk chicken was the best thing. The corn wasn’t good either completely flavorless
Great spot for tacos & its affordable. It’s small on the inside, bar styled table where you’d be beside other people so I opted not to stay. I had the 2 jerk pork, 2 fried shrimp tacos, lemonade, & strawberry mango margarita (about $35). It was delicious but it was the jerk pork taco that made come back for another round 3hrs later lol. The area being so busy, parking is a pain. Not to mention it’s all paid street parking. I ate in my car double parked by a hydrant.
Very good food. Everything super fresh. Nice service. Place runs like a well oiled machine. Uh Cool vibe. Only problem is that they close at 10. They’re too good to close at 10
I stopped by El Jeffe in Brooklyn for a solo lunch, and even though there were a few customers crowded near the entrance, everyone was very friendly. I ordered the Jerk Pork Salad from the menu board and ate inside. The price and volume are the best! The staff had great smiles and provided warm, welcoming service. There are two counter seating areas, and they offer complimentary water, which was nice. The salad was flavorful, and the cilantro dressing paired perfectly—it made me want to keep eating. I got full halfway through, so I asked for a to-go container, and they kindly provided one. It’s definitely a spot I’d love to come back to.
Food was delicious, service friendly and quick. Just bummed that for “dining in,”. plastic takeout containers were mandatory. I chose to eat in believing it would cut down on plastic waste, so it makes me not want to order from here again.
It is a hidden gem worth tracking down! Ordering was a breeze with plenty of options to choose from, and the staff was super informative and helpful—happy to answer questions and make great recommendations. The tacos? Absolutely delicious. We tried the grilled chicken, fried chicken, grilled fish, and steak—and every single one was a hit. Flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The food came out quickly, which was a huge plus, especially with hungry kids in tow. While the seating area is limited, it’s just enough to grab a spot, sit down, and stuff your face—no frills, just great food. Bonus points for being kid-friendly—our kids loved it too. El Jefe is definitely worth a try if you're in the area. Top notch!
I ordered a total of 3 tacos for delivery. The jerk pork, fried shrimp and and fish taco. They were all pretty good, flavorful and fresh. As you can see the package everything very nicely and the presentation is appealing. My favorites were the fish and the fried shrimp. Just would’ve preferred a corn tortilla instead of flour.
The tacos are out of this world! We tried all different kinds and they were all delicious. From the chicken to the shrimp to the pork, so good! This is a great spot to hit up after some drinks. Service was top tier also! This spot is an order your food to go & sit outside kind of place. They’re got some bar seating near where you order but there’s no AC so it’s extremely hot.
Great place if you're looking for some drinks and a good late-night experience. However, I've heard some things that are concerning about the management and standards of this business that make me question whether or not I want to dine in here. I'm not big into tequila so it's a turnoff when most of their drinks are tequila based. However, that is what you're going for so for tequila drinkers this may be the spot for you. good location & good spot to hit up on bar hop.
Food was ok. The drinks are tasty but could use a lil more liquor in them. A lil pricey for the size your paying for, and then for it not to have enough liquor. The staff is very nice and friendly except for cashier. She doesn't listen to what the customer is saying. I asked her what was on certain items and then I asked her to take certain things off, that I didnt like. Thank god I'm not allergic. The area is a lil too busy for me. But after that it was ok.
In fairness, it was my first time visiting. I didn't find what I ordered to be flavorful. I'm sure they have items on their menu that's good. Very disappointing that the chips and salsa lacked flavor. Chips were not salted, and had no lime, etc. The roasted salsa had a very nice texture, but again - lacked flavor. Whoever visits, please don't be discouraged by my post. Try something off the menu!
I got jerk pork taco and fish , my friend got chicken burrito he didn’t like it AT ALL , I gave him one of the jerk pork taco and he said it was really good so keep that in mind when you ordering. The chicken is not good and my friend is Hispanic and from Texas so he knows how tacos should be , I tried it and agreed it was boo boo . The fish one was good also; BUT I don’t like how they do the taco Tuesday … it’s a happy hour from 4-7 like is Tuesday not 12am to 11:59 pm? Like why are you calling it a taco Tuesday then? Everywhere I know that offers a deal on Tuesday does it all day but I guess black establishments do it a lil different. Whatever ! So many places in New York to try. I get it gotta recoup your reparations, while having minorities work for you and pay them minimum wage :) No seating , cramped small space keep that in mind as well if you are trying to dine in.
The frozen margaritas are on point here! We tried the small passionfruit and mango flavors and both were delicious. They have really good chips and queso as well (7.5/10). The chicken rice bowl was alright. I appreciated that the white rice has a coconut flavor. I would go back for the margaritas!
This place is okay, and if you love Mexican food it’s barely mediocre. Fish and shrimp tacos are good, not great. The margarita is also good, not great. Service is hit or miss. Happy hour would be better if they could seat more than a handful of people. I think everything could stand to be cheaper for what you’re getting - tacos are very small.
I really went in with high hopes as there were great reviews. Ordered the grilled shrimp rice bowl. Shrimp was unfortunately OVERLY SALTY! Even with coconut rice and beans, it was just too salty. I tried calling couple of times, didnt pick up. Coconut rice with beans was tasty enough for the 2 star. Other than that, I'm just disappointed.
An administrative mess. The food is good, as many others noted the portions are small for the price. The restaurant is crowded and not the best if you want to sit down with more than one other person. They have little to no real system for tracking orders. The team, although very polite, is often unorganized and unapologetic. So it has to be a management problem. Online orders are broken and they're currently not delivering.
Attitude central! Employees have such bad attitudes and take way longer than they say or need to to finish your orders. I had a high expectations for the food but was sadly let down with a couple dry burritos. We were planning on sitting and eating with our food but after waiting 25 minutes for two burritos we decided to take them to go. The outdoor area with tables is nice but was completely overshadowed by the extremely poor customer service or lack there of.
I am a regular to the point of weekly orders. They went from amazing shrimp tacos to mediocre. They fell off big time! I just ordered again hoping things were better & it was the SECOND time I found HAIR in my food! Uber eats did not refund my money although I threw it in the garbage & I reached out to the restaurant and no one rectified the situation. I’m over them & their unsanitary cold a** tacos! Do better!
make sure they hear your order cuz I speak English and loudly and they still got my order wrong. $5 for a two bite Taco that has no weight to it whatsoever , felt like they handed me an empty bag. I'll never go back to this place
I used to order here a few years ago. Covid hit and literally after this experience I remembered their services was not IT! I decided to give it a chance this past weekend, LOL I was better off going to chipotle!!! I pre-ordered on uber eats. Walked in, nobody greeted me. Literally stood there for 2-3 minutes. The cooks turned around, looked at me and carried on. The cashier, was standing talking to another worker and a female who I think she works at the post office- I dont remember. But she had her food already. Anyway! Walked in, cashier guy is sipping on a McDonald’s frap, what a joke. Someone else came in behind me and shouted she wanted a lemonade, threw the cash at the other guy and got her stuff and went about her business. At that moment I literally did not care about my food lol I wanted to walk out but my sister also wanted it. So, I got my food and added a guac and chips, along with a frozen margarita. Paid and now I'm standing there waiting, and see others walk in and they are greeted and asked what how they can be helped. From the looks of it, they treat their friends or regulars idk the difference at this point with “great service.” And to top it off- the only thing that tasted good was the margarita and chips. The burritos were horrid.
Placed order online. Modification requests is non existent. So i called the resturant for an exchange of the corn tortilla instead of flour and the lady on the phone said no problem we’ll modify your order. Got to my home and of course the tacos were flour instead. Their flour is so sweet it takes away the flavor from the actually tacos. I hate it and it’s disgusting. And their guac and chips is extremely small.
Placed an order on Door Dash which they don’t have options to make certain requests like type of taco (flour or corn) or or no onions… etc. So I clicked to place the order and immediately called the store to make sure they got my order and request the options I was looking for and the gentleman who answered the phone said “sorry bro, order is already made” I asked how that’s even possible and he said they aren’t even busy like that right now. And he refused to accommodate my request when I had placed a $94+ order. They began talking to themselves on the phone in Spanish saying I wanted to cha he my order which was never the case because I never got the option to choose what I had wanted in the first place. Not to mention I had called them prior to even placing the order giving them a heads up that my order was coming and that I’d call them as soon as I placed it to let them know which one was mine. Still got laughed at by the employees on the phone and was told I can go ahead and cancel the order then. Very upsetting behavior, I’ve never eaten there before but I’m absolutely never going to now.
Food is amazing. Customer service not so much. Ordered 7 tacos and a shrimp burrito. Paid extra for EXTRA sour cream. Went to my car and realized I had NO sour cream. Went back inside, advised them of no sour cream. I was handed 2, including the extra sour cream. Asked if sour cream comes with each meal, the cashier stated yes and 50 cents for extra which I paid. Explained to him that 2 sour creams wouldn’t be enough for all the food I had. Asked if I order just 1 taco, would I have to pay extra for sour cream, being that he already stated 1 sour cream for every meal. Again I had 7 tacos and a burrito. I wasn’t expecting 7 sour creams but atleast 4 would have been nice. He sarcastically stated “50 cents each” with a sarcastic smile on his face. While I love the food , I don’t think I will be returning due to how they treat their customers. I spent $50 in there on food and couldn’t even get enough sour cream for the food order with out an extra fee. Very disappointing.
I really wanted to try this place. The tacos and margarita looked legit, but as soon as I walked in, the cashier gave my wife a dirty look and attitude when she asked for the menu. There was no way I'm spending my money in this place. Definitely need better employees greeting customers.
Food was ok. The bearded guy at the counter --> very rude. Walked in 15 mins before closing and ate in a hurry to get out by 10pm but got yelled at by him. D head. Be better. P.S : One lady was ordering at the counter at 9.59 and we had almost finished eating. Very discriminatory, it felt like.
