This place is great! The steamed buns with bulgogi meatloaf and fried chicken are a must. Very unique take on corn bread and Mac n cheese that will definitely have me coming back for more. Besides the food, the staff were great and the place itself is very clean and welcoming. Try the pear soju too!

A surprisingly delectable meal. We happened upon this place after visiting the Brooklyn Museum (it’s in walking distance), and was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it was. Had the 3-Bun Sampler (which I’d recommend) which allows you to taste just about all of what this eatery has to offer.

Bulgogi Meatloaf sandwich wrapped in bao with the tangy, creamy signature sauce was a delight. I visited a few times to try the menu (sans pork) and I got to give the Korean fusion props. Keema did me a solid for my birthday too, it will definitely come back! 😁😁

Mike gave wonderful customer service. We got the wings and collard greens. Will definitely be returning back here again.

Food was delicious and staff is super friendly. Shout out to Kima for making sure we fully understood the menu and everyone got what they ordered on time. This is definitely a new staple for me!

Great food. Tiny place in terms of seating. I was expecting to pick up my ribs and munching, but these ribs were cooked so well they fell off the bone. Ribs melted in my mouth.

C

Friendly staff. Great food. Nice little outside area with about 3-4 tables. Went with a friend on a weekday evening and it was perfect. For sure get the Ramem(Mac) and cheese and the wings with the Fat Elvis sauce. I will definitely be going back.

If you want to question everything you know about how to physically approach a sandwich and then cry hot, happy tears once you’ve figured it out this place is your new messiah. The hot chicken sandwich should literally be illegal. It is too good. The people should be afraid. Afraid of how good it is.

L

First time there and it was amazing, Mike hooked it up the quality was dope and quick to come out. Definitely worth passing by whether it’s take out or dine in.

Just tried this place for the first time after a suggestion from a friend. Had the chicken sandwich and thought it was great. Hubby had the ribs and they were also good. We both like the cornbread. The only thing we didn’t like was the ramen. We were expecting traditional Mac & cheese flavor and were disappointed with the sweet chili flavor. It didn’t do it for us. I wouldn’t mind maybe a brushing of sweet chili over the top but to have it throughout, overpowered it. Anyway, I still give them 5 stars bc all else was excellent. The folks working there were also very friendly and efficient.

While I did have a somewhat significant problem with my online order, I will say that the staff was awesome and did everything they could to fix it. They were friendly, professional, and apologetic (something rare in the NYC to-go food world) and I will definitely be back. The food ended up being great.

Love the pace. The food is banging. My favorite is the fried chicken and the fried fish. It's tender and crispy, absolutely perfect.

Went here after a park walk and it hit the spot! The meatloaf is fantastic as were the buns. My favorite thing however was the corn bread. Had I any room in my stomach I would of ordered another side of it. Great food and an interesting take on southern food for sure!

This was first time having the food here it was really good. Lee was very helpful and went over the menu with my friend and I. She had us try the different sauces. She had a great customer service. Will definitely be returning.

Delicious and filling. Every item has a it's own delectable flavor profile alone..and the menu works so good together. The sauces are off the chain. My go to spot for delicious, inexpensive eats. Order hungry, you will be satisfied. The atmosphere and the staff are awesome. Friendly and inviting. Two thumbs up

My sister and I visited this spot last week when I was briefly visiting her for the weekend. We’re from Mississippi and I studied abroad in Korea, so of course we had to try it out. I’m not going to lie, I was a little skeptical at first, but it was AMAZING! We shared an order of the 1/2 lb. Korean BBQ meatloaf and the ribs combo with the ramen ’n’ cheese and sesame pickles. My sister and I both agreed that everything was SO GOOD! My sister has lived in NYC for a while and said they were the best ribs she’s had in the city so far. They were flavorful and the meat fell right off the bone. The meatloaf was delicious and addictive, and even when I was full I kept eating it because I have no idea when I will be able to eat something like it again. The ramen’n’ cheese was the perfect comfort food and the pickles were refreshing and helped with the heaviness of the food. On top of it all, the service was amazing. I didn’t catch the name of all of the employees we spoke to, but they were all so kind and fun to talk to, especially Richard! Richard was really eager to know our opinions of the food, and it was so enjoyable listening to how passionate he was about his work! This place has unique, tasty fusion food, the best service, and I can’t wait to go to NYC again and try some of their other dishes!

Had the pleasure of eating here last night. The co owner was there, he was so friendly and felt like I’ve known him years even though I just met him! The food was good, fun take on Korean fried chicken. I def recommend it.

Just wanted to give a shout out and say thank you to the employee working evening of June 20th. She was holding down the restaurant solo (at least that’s what it looked like from the front) and handling a bunch of orders with patience and lovely customer service. Didn’t look easy, but she was a champ. Thanks! Food delicious as always

The food is delicious, with an excellent spicy kick. I’ve eaten here a few times, and it’s always great. I particularly enjoy the Atomic K-Pop sauce, it’s got a great flavor to go with the spice.

So, they we're super busy because of restaurant week, but even though there was a delay in receiving our food, it was crazy good. Ribs fell off the bone, cornbread was moist, jackfruit Sammie was great, loaded tots were delicious. Will definitely order here again.

I ordered from here last week, first-timer and I'm in love! I ordered the Four-piece combo of their delicious Riverboat Fried Chicken, ramen mac&cheese, and cornbread. The chicken was crispy and warm upon arrival which I was so happy about. There was a lot going on at the restaurant and my order did take a bit longer than expected but totally worth the wait. Honestly, better to be busy than not at all. I spoke with Richard (hope I remembered the right now), he was super honest about the wait time and communicated the hold-up and why, which is not something I can say for most places. Okay back to the food! I've never had ramen mac&cheese and this one was sooo good. It had a spicy kick which I'm sure most people would really enjoy. I'm just not at all a spicy lover, but I still powered through and ate it. Defiantly looking forward to having another couple of dishes from here.

Great Food! Little about me I am 6 foot 185 pounds which is a little husky. I was really hungry when I ordered the meatloaf sandwich. It shows up and not only was it so tasty but it was HUGE! I ate maybe a third before I was full, in a good way. Highly recommend all the food I have had here. Cum hungry!

R

The food is 5/5 but be aware that this is not a sit-down restaurant. Best for take-out as it’s a smaller spot. If you’re looking for amazing tater tots and fried fish, with a Korean twist, run don’t walk.

Wanted to try something different and my kids settled on this. They really enjoyed the chicken tenders and I loved the pulled pork. The staff was very patient and accommodating. My family and I will be back for sure.

This was saved on our list for a while and we finally made it in. It didn’t disappoint. We had the bulgogi meatloaf and the fried chicken sandwich & both were so flavorful. We also really enjoyed the Ramen n Cheese and the tots. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Baos are like Asian tacos! Deliciously fluffy and slightly sweet buns that are steamed and then filled. Great taste. I tried the meatloaf option & the chicken one 🔥🔥🔥

A

I just tried Memphis Seoul for the first time this week, and am already ready for more. I tried a sample of three bao buns the catfish, chicken, meat loaf bao buns. I also had the tater tots, the ramen, and the cornbread! All phenomenal. I'll honestly be dreaming of the catfish bao bun tonight. The sauces that come with all have unique and delicious flavor, and really enhanced the flavor, especially on the tots. You'll enjoy, I know I did :)

C
Christopher Pacheco

It’s a nice place and the food is so good. It’s the best blend between Korean food and Soul food. You won’t be disappointed about it. I personally love their meat loaf and cheese ramen. It’s a good price also and a nice amount of food.

C
Corey Kenn

This is a great idea for a restaurant. I got the friend chicken bao bun and it threw me for a whole loop. The pickles are very vinegar heavy which I loved. My boyfriend got the bulgogi meatloaf bibimbap and it was stellar, like nothing I've tasted before. Tater tots were extra crispy. All around pleasant and beautiful.

Great experience! Great food! As a native of the Mid South the restaurant definitely lives up to the name. Thanks Mike for the Suggestion of the Catfish Bowl. Will definitely be back!

J

We dined-in and had the meatloaf bun, pulled pork rice bowl, pulled pork tater tots, and chocolate banana pudding. Everything was very decent, and not too greasy nor too salty or sweet for soul food. The food was prepared for us so we had to wait a few moments but I prefer that over being served food that's already made and has been siting there for the whole day. Service was good too. Seems like many of the poor reviews date back from months or years ago, maybe the place has improved lately? Will definitely return and recommend.

B
Bar Stern

The service here is incredible, she was so friendly and answered so many questions about the unique food. She gave very honest opinions on what she liked and why. The food itself was so tasty and just as unique as the menu suggests. Will be back for sure. Also has a great buy one get one deal every week day. I had the buns but everything looked great.

S
Samuel Nungesser

Had an amazing experience eating here. I couldn’t walk by the restaurant without checking out the menu. Reminds me of when I was living down in North Carolina and New Orleans with a twist that made so much sense. Will definitely be stopping by next time time I’m in the neighborhood and def ordering for takeout

A
Alex Brooks

The food at this place rocks. We got the bulgogi meatloaf and chicken tenders. The chicken tenders were fresh and crispy, homemade for sure. And the bulgogi meatloaf had great flavor and wasn’t too greasy. Kind and friendly staff as well. Definitely check this place out.

Went here for a quick dinner Friday night, Memrib sandwich was fantastic. Solid portion and great flavor. Guy working there also insisted I taste some hot sauce with him while waiting and overall was extremely welcoming. Great experience and food.

Wow I've been stalking this place for a while. And the best choice I've made in a while. Mike is super helpful and so kind to me and my family. The fooooood top tier. Order: Pulled pork sandwich Loaded tots Bulgogi meatloaf Bao bun-friend chicken, meatloaf, fried catfish Fried catfish sandwich

The steamed bun was so good, same with the chicken sandwich. The sauce was the right amount of spice and the pickles were so crunchy. Music playing was also fitting for the theme and I hope this place stays around for years to come

E

My favorite restaurant in the neighborhood! The bao buns are their best item, in my opinion. I recommend the meatloaf (which I was a little wary of at first, because I don’t generally like meatloaf, but is incredible), then the catfish and chicken. I have to stop myself from going here nearly every night, and that is tragically, for me, the legitimate and embarrassing truth. Anyway cannot recommend enough, it’s the first place I take my family when they come and the first place I recommended to my new roommate.

I happened upon their booth at the Atlantic antic and I ordered 3 buns with meatloaf. They were amazing! Slaw was tangy and fresh, buns were soft and delicious and meatloaf was great! Service was great too. They had a huge line and it was hot but they handled it all with a smile!

J
Jess Frankel Carrel

wow, how lucky were we to stumble in right before close in a friday night. Lea was the coolest and most wonderful host to us, we tried many delicious sauces and she made our dreams come true. she should have a 1000% raise as well as her comrade who was in the back. honestly haven’t even tasted the food yet but i bed it’s delicious

Honestly one of the best spots in Brooklyn. I’ve had it on my list forever because of my love of Korean fusion. But the cuisine and flavors of SOUL really stands out!!!! The collard greens are a must have. Don’t think about it just order them. The sandwiches are phenomenal and the staff are as sweet as the banana pudding so make sure you tip well!

B

Loved the pork rib sandwich. Their sauces are all incredible as well - if you ask you can try them before you order. If I lived in the area I would come here all the time!

M

Food and Service was amazing! I highly suggest ordering their popular buns and chicken sandwiches! I also recommend ordering ahead!

J

Their meatloaf is DAMN GOOD, GREAT EVEN. Anyone who buys it should use the special BBQ sauce rather than the orange one advertised. It's a life changer and I didn't know this until one of the staff members suggested it.

The only problem here is trying to figure out what to re-order this time. Everything on the menu is incredible. Large portions. Two main courses and an app is perfect for 2 people to share. Apparently he makes the dipping sauces himself. Clever combination of Memphis BBQ and Korean food. I highly recommend.

Great food. My son loves the tenders and I love the fried chicken with honey and hot sauce. Mike TOOK CARE of us. And if you doubt me on atmosphere, hang for 3 songs and you'll feel it.

Absolutely out of this world! We went after brooklyn comic con and swore it'd be packed. Do NOT let the small appearance fool you- this place is so amazing. The prices are great for the size of things and while it seems like servings are small I am typing this with a full belly trying to make space for our peach bread pudding. We got the catfish strips, a BBQ jackfruit sandwich, and ramen and cheese (I was SO curious about it) and MAN it blew me away. The girl at the counter was so nice (the computer wasn't working right) and the vibes were just right with the music and artwork around the place. The food was so amazing- I'm already looking for excuses to come back. I do NOT leave reviews often but this place deserves way more hype because I've never heard someone mention it before and they otta be . Out of this world- Highly recommend.

Memphis Seoul is easily one of the best joints in Crown Heights. Not only is the fusion food extremely divine, the service is always efficient and friendly. It’s a hole-in-the-wall kind of atmosphere and could use more seating, however that also adds to the charm of it! Stop by and have Soju, or enjoy the quirky decor and great tunes. A can’t miss if you’re in Brooklyn! ✌🏽

thought this place had some of the best barbecue in the city - definitely at one of the best price points too. the portion of meat is enough for two people and the sides were outta the park- especially the kollards. i thought the pork was well balanced between sweet and spicy as well. and the fried chicken had an almost glass like crunch to it. can't wait to come back

We were on Roosevelt Island for the 4th of July and had the opportunity to try Memphis Seoul as they were set up along with the food trucks. My husband said their Bao Buns were the best he has ever had and he tries his fair share of them whenever we travel. We also got the fully loaded Tiger tots which were delicious.

Great wings with several kinds of hot sauce. The mac and cheese ramen is excellent. UPDATE: Returned later to try the meatloaf slider, a thick meaty slice topped with slaw and a fantastic sauce- delicious. Consider me a regular.👍

The only reason I didn't give it a 5 because half a star for not mentioned on the menu description there is pork in the greens and secondly the Catfish was a bit oily. Good serving size for the price and fresh. Definitely a unique taste of southern food crossed with Koren style. Food was hot upon arrival. Even though I don't stay too far from them. But couldn't enjnjoy oKnowing pork was near my other food in this meal plate.

The Food was Good. The Employees were awesome and super friendly. I would definitely go again🥰 (I got the tater tots and tenders)

J

great concept with an okay execution. partner and i split the meatloaf with greens and kornbread, fried catfish (gave us an extra strip for free!) and tiger tots with hot chicken and gangnam style sauce. didn’t realize the meatloaf comes smothered in the gangnam style sauce, so everything ended up tasting too similar. spicy sweet and sour, which is great, but with little else to balance it. needed something fresh/savory/creamy to balance all the spicy sweet sour flavors. greens and kornbread were great, though. i’d go again if i were in the area but i’m not going out of my way to order the food; staff and ambience were good though, loved the 60s music and cool posters.

Stumbled upon this new spot this past Sunday afternoon. As a temporary vegetarian I was pleased that I still had options to choose from. I ended up with a veggie rice bowl. The flavor was one I've never experienced before but was pleased with the tang of the BBQ. The portion size was good. My boyfriend picked up the food and he said the owner was friendly.

A bit disappointing on the quality and flavor of the buns. Delivery took reeeaaally long. They seemingly tried to make up for it by throwing in a free drink (very nice) that was unfortunately one of the worst things I’ve ever tasted (sone kind of blueberry infused vodka cooler). A little on the pricey side overall too.

DELICIOUS! DELICIOUS! DELICIOUS! Memphis Seoul’s chicken tenders are absolutely scrumptious. The tater tots were a little soggy, but it may because I ordered delivery. Thank you Memphis Seoul for such delicious tenders!

Decent hidden gem near Medgar Evars and the BKlyn museum. Food is hit or miss Korean soul food. The Bulgogi Meatloaf (had it on a bao) was delicious. The cheesy ramen, not as much. But comfort food is their speciality, and a large selection of soju and Makgeolli.

M
Mark Ramdarass

Great potential. Imaginative menu. Friendly staff. Prices heavily weighed down my review. Feels like this restaurant is trying to be three things in one, but may not gain it’s cult like following until it pairs down. I’d love to see smaller dishes tapas-style with more Korean vibes if they expand.

T
Tiffany Allen

I got the ribs and fried chicken , those were very tasty and tender . My picky eater daughter enjoyed it too . I did not like the taste of the sides: sesame pickles ( I didn’t understand the flavor ) and ramen mac n cheese ( too sweet , not cheesy).

Ok..so I went with a good friend to check out this spot which seems interesting by the name. Who doesn't like soul food or Korean?? Ok so they are folk out there that do. However I love both..filled with flavor. That's what I was expecting when I walked into this establishment after all.. interesting infusion of flavors..right.. I was sadly disappointed..waisted my money and could have gotten better flavor from popeyes food chain instead. I played it safe..new place and all..by ordering fried chicken, collards greens and corn bread. I must say the customer service was good..very pleasant but the chicken had no salt..no flavor..it was as if it was just washed and fried no spices plus it was under cooked. Like who could mess up on chicken?? The only flavorful thing I eat was the collard greens and the tator tots from my friends plate..that's it..period. we dumped everything and walked out disappointed. I will never go there again.

This place has good food, and that's it. I would emphasize good food, not amazing anyway. A nice twist and but that's it. But expect long wait times and forgetful staff. They told me 15 mins for the wait, but took more than 30 mins. Which would be forgivable if they didn't forget my sides. I ordered the BBQ jackfruit combo and they forgot to put my 2 fixins. So because of the poor service and long wait, 3 out 5. Food good, service and wait is subpar.

A
April L Stanford

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for about 3 months now. Parking is a challenge and you'll have to call in your order and "double park". The staff is really nice. They were very patient as I decided on my order. I really loved the Bulgogi sliders. The meatloaf tastes real good. The Memphis fish sandwich is really good too. I didn't like the Mac n' cheese Ramen, the chili sauce on top didn't pair well to me. The peach cobbler was a miss too. There's no peaches in it. The banana pudding is good! I think they have a chocolate banana pudding too. I'll definitely be back for the sliders. I want to try the fried chicken bun too.

C
Chang Gao

Really want to give this place a higher rating but the fried chicken bibimbap bowl was so disappointing - just some fried chicken chopped over a few pieces of lettuce. The fried chicken itself was ok, also got the sandwich version which was good. Overall not worth the price and unfortunately I will not be coming back.

J
Jake Rubinsky

It was a bit overpriced for my liking, no rice bowl should cost $16, but the food was great. I would probably go back. *NOTE* Best to look up their menu prior to visiting as they don’t have any visuals as to what is what inside their shop. Outdoor seating had an overhead heater and it wasn’t a bubble so there was air circulation (for COVID-19).

Jonah Sahn

This place has evolved from where it was before. The quality of the food has gone up but the portion sizes have gone down and unfortunately the prices have shot way up. Three small catfish strips alone and a diet Coke should not cost $24. Also, something I find very troubling as a Black American and an Asian American mixed person from the city of Memphis, is the fact that this restaurant is run by a white man from Memphis? Inside there is decor representing both Black and Korean culture. You will find posters of Three 6 Mafia and hustle and Flow next to posters of Korean soccer players and BTS. But when I asked the staff if the owner was black or Korean or both or for Memphis... They told me he's white and from Memphis. What is going on here?

Christian Alvarado

Went here after a long moving day and was the first meal at 5pm so I was really looking forward to it. I was sadly kinda disappointed. I got the bulgogi meatloaf with tots and ramen and cheese. The meatloaf was sauced down in essentially buffalo sauce and at first it was cool because I’ve never had a bulgogi meatloaf but after each bit it just became more mid. And the ramen and cheese was literally just ramen and cheese nothing more lol. I got 3 steamed buns and nothing was steaming about them, they were cold as if they were taken right out the fridge and given to me. My friend got the pulled pork plate and he was eh about it too. Safe to say I won’t be coming back here for the food but they have amazing Soju piña coladas aha. Customer service was great though!

G
George Beyer

Very dry chicken with uninteresting flavor profile. Asked for sauce on the side and didn't receive any sauce. Cornbread was cold but tasted okay. Ramen Mac and cheese was horrible, weird element of sweetness. Won't return.

M
Michael Olson

They aren’t doing a great job handling the covid rush. It took an hour to get our food, everything was under-seasoned (hot sauce can only do so much), and the fried chicken wasn’t cooked through. I’ll probably give them another chance because I don’t want to believe a restaurant this awful can exist in crown heights. Uninspiring first impression.

J
Jamal Woodley

I ordered for my family and had high expectations. It's a great concept as a restaurant. I was highly disappointed the fried chicken taste like the pre made fried chicken at shoprite or Walmart. The Mac and cheese ramen had too much going on with a sweet taste. The tater tots were just that tater tots..nothing special. The veggies I'm not going to lie I threw them away didn't even taste it or want to feed it to my kid.

R
Rachael Berezin

We were very hopeful to find a replacement for Bunsmith but this was disappointing! We wanted to like it sooo much but the buns were soggy (definitely too much going on in terms of sauce and additions). Also the pork bun tasted like veggie meat! The cornbread was really good though and I liked the ramen Mac and cheese. I hope they improve their buns!

I walked by this place so many times and the pictures and smells always made me hungry, I was so excited to try it. It’s been a long time living in nyc I was let down so badly. All the staff there seems to be brand new and was in training, they were nice and friendly, but seemed completely overwhelmed and lacked any awareness of how to actually complete orders. We ordered half pork ribs and a bulgogi meatloaf with sides in store, it took about 20-25 minutes to give us our food to take out, which wouldn’t be so bad if all the food was cooked to order (it isn’t minus sunny side up eggs they make for bowls) We walked home and upon walking in the door hungry, realized they had given us the complete wrong order. We called they were apologetic and asked us to come back to know who’s order they had given us and to correct it. We went back and got our correct order and after almost an hour ordeal of ordering in person, finally got to try the food. It was absolutely stone cold, it was like it hadn’t even been attempted to be heated. The sauces were overly spicy (and didn’t come with a warning, I got the Elvis sauce which just said sweet) and the sides were dry and honestly tasted like they came from a supermarket. Im sorry to have to right this review but so many things went wrong, it was most definitely not worth the price we paid (50$), and most importantly the food was just not good.

I was looking foward to giving this place a try because im from Memphis and I love BBQ and Korean flavors. The main reason I'm giving 2 stars because it the food gave both my boyfriend and I stomachache throughout the night and the next following day. My stomach was a little better than his but he was woken up at 5am bad stomach pains. I'm sure it was the chicken that left us in pain because my bf ordered fried chicken with greens and corn bread and 2 orders of wings to share. While I ordered each the bao buns excluding the jackfruit with coleslaw and greens. Since I did not eat much of the chicken, I did not feel as bad as he did. I am giving 2 stars is because the I was mostly content with my order. I like the flavor of the bao buns but there was no distinct flavor between each one. I could not tell the difference between them flavor wise, which was a bit dissapointing. I enjoyed the coleslaw, it was a standard coleslaw with a very slight Korean spin. The flavor of the collar greens were okay but over salted. I can say it was a good portion size for both the greens and slaw. I also really enjoyed the corn bread. Now to the fried chicken. It did not look that great when we opened it. The portion was smaller than other restaurants, it was dry, the taste was very bland and way overpriced for fried chicken. The wings was ordered with the Elvis sauce was not to our liking. It tasted very processed in a way. We could not finish even 1 order of it and unfortunately to throw it out. Maybe it would be better in a different flavor. Overall we spent $70 or so. Which was really expensive for something that made us both sick and tasted 'okay'. I understand there is inflation due to Covid and I usually don't mind paying higher prices to support small business but this was not worth it. The ingredients just didn't all taste too fresh. I really hope this place improves bc I love the idea they have. Give it a try, just don't order the chicken.

Expensive, chicken is dry, ribs are dry, really slow service. And a really bad “beer” which is actually a sugary alcoholic drink.

Mediocre at best. Staff was really nice. Chicken was fine, but nothing special especially at price point. Nothing tasted particularly Korean. Kimchi should lend itself pretty well to a coleslaw given the ingredients, but it didn’t in this case. Just tasted like an average coleslaw. Tater tots with the kimcheeze was also flavorless.

Used to love ordering from this place, love the owner's story and fusion. Quality of food used to be so good. The chicken was over fried and catfish was very bread. They mixed up packing my husband and mine food, not a big deal but did was scattered possibly from delivery & one of my bao buns didn't have any slaw. The peach bread pudding was dense, not flavorful and over cooked. For the raised prices the quality sure isn't great. The one thing I can say is their sauces are great and worth buying a bottle. Other than that hard pass now until I see the quality get better!

Small place with friendly and helpful staff. The place seemed interesting and i had good hopes for it as I left with my order of wings and korean kornbread. However, the chicken was dry - really dry. This was without any shred of doubt the driest chicken I have ever eaten. I first had some a few minutes after i got my order, and assumed it was just one bad piece. When i got home, the chicken managed to get even drier - dry to the point that my dips can't salvage it. It sticks to my teeth as the seasoning falls off like powdery sand. I've never written a google review and normally avoid writing negative reviews. Truly, I am not angry with this place - though the kornbread was not especially interesting compared to normal cornbread, I enjoyed it. However, I am disappointed that this establishment can consider this an adequate quality of food. Please, eat some items off of your menu, and ask yourself if this is right to serve to customers. I believe you all to be good people, and hope that you can act as such in the future, lest the dry chicken run you out of business first.

Customer service was Top Tier; The atmosphere was pretty good too! They have seating outside. However, The food? Not so great. I was so hungry & truly wanted it to work out, but unfortunately I didn’t like it. I took 3 bites out of the Chicken sandwich. The sauce had a weird taste. And the Ramen & Cheese, tasted weird too! I truly feel like $24 went to waste. 😟

I got the lunch special— 15 bucks (not including tip!)— with two tenders & kimchi coleslaw & a soda. The tenders were pitifully small and were just kinda mid chicken tenders. The sauce was good. The kimchi coleslaw was plentiful but plain tasting. No bathroom. Decor is very low effort. Restaurant concept is interesting (I love fusion!) but I was disappointed with what I got & its price point ($15 for a soda, a side, and two chicken tenders is… not a deal). My friends got sandwiches (for the same price, plus tip) and they enjoyed theirs Woman working at the counter was nice and I think the sauces are yummy. Don’t get the chicken tenders

I really wanted to like this spot, but I was disappointed. The sides were better than the main dish, but still mediocre. My pulled pork was basically cold. My partner’s meatloaf was better than the pork, but it wasn’t the best either. The staff was friendly though, and that was an upside to the experience.

Hit or miss. Chicken was crispy and Baos are good but everything is overpriced. Cornbread had no flavor, collards were cold, slaw was bland, and the chicken sandwich was too spicy for my friend. Service took forever and the staff were kind but a bit disorganized.

I’m giving two stars because the customer service was good, the person at the counter gave me and my wife advice about what to ea, since this was our first time in the restaurant…. After ordering the food the wait was like 10 minutes which is not bad, but the food itself was not good, is wasn’t fresh, I ordered the BBQ Jackfruit, so disappointed it was like eating a full spoon of BBQ sauce straight from the jar, the sides were cornbread and pickles, the pickles weren’t fresh, the best of my order was the bread… now my wife asked for some meatloaf with coleslaw and cheese ramen…. also the flavor was a disaster in all of it, the coleslaw was not fresh… to be short we ate one spoon of each thing and throw the food to the garbage. 50 dollars to the trash, basically. Completely dissatisfied and will not recommend to nobody.

My hopes were quite high for this place as combining two of my favorite foods had me salivating. Sadly, the fried chicken was hard as a catchers mitt, was covered in about 2 inches of batter, and had about the same taste as wood shavings on a shop floor- Absolutely tasteless. Adding insult to the letdown, the cornbread was about as dry as a bean counter’s humor, and that’s being generous. My apologies to bean counters.

We were pretty excited to try this spot, but unfortunately disappointed as soon as we saw the food. We had the bulgogi sandwich, pulled pork tater tots, spicy cornbread, fried spicy wings with atomic sauce and death by chocolate. The sandwich was scary - included a slab of meat which was a weird texture and did not taste like Korean BBQ meat. The sauce was tasteless and overall the sandwich was wet and soggy. The tater tots were also soggy and the BBQish sauce tastes like chemicals. The spicy cornbread was not spicy at all and did not taste like cornbread - more like taking a bite from a dirty dish sponge. The wings were very dry and literally soaking in an entire bowl of bad BBQ sauce (I am from Buffalo and those wings were disgraceful, just saying ...). Finally, the death by chocolate dessert didn't taste at all like chocolate. There is some kind of cream cheese situation involved in the middle of the dessert and really not for a chocolate lover. Overall, would avoid this establishment. To be honest this food was met for dogs and cats

Me and my friends went to Memphis Seoul for restaurant week. Upon arriving we looked at the menu and couldn’t decide what to get. One of my friends did not order anything she said she did not like the way it looked. I ordered the meat loaf, ramen Mac and cheese and mixed veggie. While riding in my friends car back home we noticed a foul order. My friend closed the window thinking the smell was from outside. I was dropped off to my car and while driving I noticed the same smell. That’s when I realized it was the food. The meatloaf was two big very salty pierces. They were frozen before it was cooked and the veggie was cold. The ramen Mac and cheese had no flavor and the Mac and cheese and veggies portions was small. I called Memphis Seoul to see if I can get a refund or exchange it for something else. I spoke with a guy named Richard.I explained the situation to him .I told him that if he doesn’t resolve it I will write a review. He placed me on hold to speak with the owner. I overheard the owner yelling saying that he doesn’t care about what I said about the portion and the food and he doesn’t care if I write a bad review. The owner got on the phone and was extremely rude he said he doesn’t offer refunds. I asked if I can exchange it for something else. He said he’s not doing anything for me since I said I was going to write a review. He said he doesn’t care if I write a review. I would not recommend anyone going to Memphis Seoul if you are unhappy with your over priced food you can’t even complain. The owner doesn’t want to hear it or he isn’t sympathetic to it issue.

NOT WORTH IT!!!!! Food had no seasoning and they just put sweet sauce on everything to mask the lack of seasoning. I should’ve known better than to trust a Korean mixed with Soul food spot, but it’s cooked by a young white dude lol. Waited 20 mins for food that was barely warm (even though the food is supposedly made to order). Two other people were in the restaurant at the time and they already had their food. The place was basically empty but they prioritize Uber orders over people in the store. Honestly this is probably the worse restaurant to go to in the neighborhood. Skip it and go to another place nearby. Trust me it’ll be a better investment for your taste buds. Sidenote: NOT BLACK OWNED. NOT KOREAN OWNED. NOT SURPRISING LOL

I had a 4 piece fried chicken delivery with 2 sides. Chicken was disgusting- Shriveled up, over cooked and maybe the oil is old. You can’t fry chicken yesterday and re fry it to sell today. Tasteless. I took one bite of each piece to make sure and threw it away. Their house made buffalo sauce is fine. The collards are standard. The Mac n ramen is cheesy and ok.

I was super excited for the fried chicken bowl. Especially having lived in Memphis I was super pumped to see it nearby. Unfortunately, my order was never delivered. Now, ordering it through an outside app, I tend to give a pass when it claims the delivery time and over estimate, however after two hours of “preparing order” I called the restaurant to check in. Not only was the staff that answered very unprofessional, but they proceeded to tell me that they couldn’t find the order and needed to check the other computer. After putting the phone on the counter (not on hold)and clearly messing around (and cursing) with other staff, they simply replied “oh yea, it’s here. HA!” then proceeded to hang up on me. Within 30 seconds the app updated to “order complete” and now, nearly another 30 min later, the restaurant is closed and I still do not have my meal. Upon reviewing yelp, this restaurant has struggled with their delivery and service for quite some time. It’s really unfortunate, but I will not be trying again as this experience has left me hungry and with a sour taste in my mouth. Best of luck, fellow Tennessean.

Where do I begin? I was highly disappointed, the chicken was obviously refried, it had no flavor, definitely not southern. The ramen & cheese was horrible. The cashier was nice, I just wish I hadn’t wasted my money.

I placed and order via DoorDash at 8:10, called this place at 8:50 because i hadn’t received my order. The man who answered the phone is telling me that door dash hasn’t assigned a dasher yet and I proceed to tell him door dash is telling me you guys handle your own deliveries, he proceeds to tell me that’s not true and offers no solution. I call back after another 20 min, explain to him again that it’s now 9:10 and i still don’t have my order and he starts to get an attitude and tell me there is nothing he can do, “he can’t rush the dasher” and im trying to explain to him again that they’re saying tMemphis Seoul handles their own deliveries but he’s not having it and again offers no solution. Fast forward, it is now 10 pm, the store is closed and they just go ahead and cancel my order. Needless to say, never again

Simply disgusting. Cold, no flavor, does not represent Korea definitely does not represent southern food and Memphis, is that somebody's name because that must be the only person their representing. They need to shut down.. there's no authentic food being cooked at this place. I want my money, time and whaT was once my untainted taste buds before I came here BACK!!! 🥴🤐🤢. Will never return

The catfish bowl was great. Really flavorful and balanced, however I found more than 5 hairs in each bowl… contacted DoorDash and got my money back, but I have never seen anything like this in my life. Edit: the catfish bowl is not good anymore.

Way overpriced for the portion sizes. Underwhelming food. Also not sure who they are trying to fool with their southern and Korean "theme", which makes no sense.

This place has fallen off a cliff. Super disappointing. Will never go back. The river boat chicken strips used to be a huge portion of juicy, tender chicken fingers with a nice thick batter coating.. now it's a pathetic thin coated, over cooked dry chicken and the portion is 1/4th what it used to be. Look at the photos. $13 for that? Pathetic. This new hyped up "hot chicken" straight up sucks. It's the same order with a bad sauce on top - looks nothing like the advertised pics. The sides are smaller and the orders are wrong often. You used to be solid MS - you guys messed up bad. Big loss.

Would of gave two stars, but after eating the wings (Gangnam Style) I've been running to the restroom ( the only item I feel was ok in flavor). What made me write this is the dry, burnt grease tasting chicken. I could not take more the 2 bites before I felt overwhelmed. I will add this was the first time this year I had fried chicken, if that means anything. don't let the flash fool you, the chicken is Cajun black.

Okay so I live down the block, like literally the same block just a couple of buildings down and decided to try this for the first time and it would be just my luck to find a nice hair in my food. To be completely honest the only reason they even have one star is because I ate the fried chicken bun first before I saw the hair and it was delicious. The hair was in the pulled pork bun, which was so disappointing. Edit: I called and they refunded my money.
