I've been coming to this nice restaurant/espresso bar for the last two- three weekss from Physical Therapy and I gotta say, it's the most hospitable experience I've had in the last year. The food is made to perfection, I've had their waffles, burgers, chicken wraps and fruit salads, all of which was really great. The owners/staff are very accommodating and they want nothing more than for a satisfied customer, that is why it brings me great joy to be writing such a review. These are the types of businesses that grow with the community and so it is our part as locals to make sure we grow with them as well. Please if you need any place to enjoy good food and good service, it's right here at Sunrise Espresso Bar.

I walked by this café all week and finally had a chance on my last day to stop in. The vibes are really all about hospitality and good home cooking with a combination of American and Mexican menu items. I ordered a coffee and a green smoothie and can’t wait to go back or some of the amazing food that I saw getting delivered to other people here today. If you’re in Park slope, this is a great place for everything from a brunch to a dinner. They have extensive hours seven days a week so check them out. I know I will be back.

I have been excited to check this place out as I saw them under construction. We came in for coffee and breakfast and absolutely loved it! The moment you walk in it’s bright, cheery, and welcoming. The bright yellow paint and red curtains give it such a positive vibe- we forgot it was cold and grey outside. Had the very best cappuccino we have had in the neighborhood, and excellent breakfast as well. The owner introduced himself and was so kind- we will definitely be back often.

A fantastic addition to the neighborhood! If some of the menu items seem familiar, you may recognize them from Terrace Restaurant or the Grand Canyon Diner's new ownership, since these are the same folks. My coffee was strong and my huevos rancheros were delicious. Bonus points for opening at 7 a.m. for the early birds who need a good breakfast, but can't walk the distance to a diner.

Sunrise Espresso Bar is truly a gem! I went last night with my aunt and my daughter, and the food tasted just like home. The horchata was absolutely delicious, and my daughter and I had the chicken tostadas, the flavors literally danced in my mouth, it was so delicious. My aunt had the tacos and loved her meal too. The place is very clean, the prices are just right, and the hospitality was amazing. The owner came to our table with his wife and son to introduce themselves and share their story of how they started. It made the experience feel so genuine and welcoming. I’m definitely coming back to try more dishes and telling all my friends about this spot. Highly recommend!

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for about 4 years and watched with cautious eyes as this place was being built. Now, it has become a weekly stop. If not for the food alone, the service is fantastic. My family and I visiti New York often and like to find good brunch spots that have good coffee and plenty of options as my family has different tastes and some wanted breakfast and some wanted lunch. Even though it was busy, they sat us within 20min. Sunrise’s menu has a great deal of both sweet & savory breakfast, pastries, American lunch as well as traditional Mexican cuisine which is hard to find and I could tell by the taste of the salsa roja, is homemade. We ordered huevos rancheros with avocado, steak, home fries, burger, milkshakes, and chocolate croissants; everything was delicious and well seasoned and cooked and the croissants had a hint of orange to them that made them unique and went well with the chocolate. We downed multiple mugs of the coffee quickly as it was really good. The owner Giovanni is so friendly and came to check on customers and his staff are very attentive. We can’t wait for our next visit and try more dishes on the menu. You MUST try Sunrise Espresso Bar!

We were visiting from DC, Maryland, and Wisconsin for a girls’ weekend, and a friend recommended Sunrise Espresso & Bar — they said it was a must-visit, and they were so right. This family-owned and operated gem gave us the warmest welcome and the most delicious sendoff we could’ve asked for. We were seated right away — no wait, even on a sunny weekend — and the vibe was absolutely perfect: bright, cheerful, and full of natural light from the big open windows. We sat by the sidewalk under the orange umbrellas, with cozy bench seating and people-watching galore. The coffee was delish, the croissants were buttery and fresh, and the waffles? Unreal. Every bite felt nourishing, made with care, and beautifully plated. As more patrons arrived, it felt like a family affair — truly a neighborhood favorite where everyone knew each other and new faces were treated like regulars. Gio, Rosa, and Alvin brought so much heart and hustle — even stopping by our table to share their homemade hot sauce (10/10, by the way). It’s rare to find service that feels both genuine and joyful — but they deliver it with ease. And here’s the best part: they also co-own Terrace Restaurant BK just down the block in South Slope, Brooklyn. Together with their cousins. Really nice new place. Great mole, good beer selection, and REALLY good tortilla chips, I dunno if they're double fried or what but think and crunchy without being oily. We were served by someone who I think was the owner, really nice and enthusiastic. I went for dinner but this place seems like a great brunch spot

Fantastic food, great service, very lovely people! We ordered the mixiote and the avocado chorizo Benedict. Both were fantastic! It was our first time, they brought out a waffle for us and it was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be coming back!m to try more dishes!

This place has a very good atmosphere. Family own restaurant. I ordered a burger and OMG the best burger I had in a while, it was so juicy. Kids friendly. Excellent customer service, the owner was so nice, came to chat with us made sure everything was good with everyone in the restaurant, which is not seen as much. I will be going back again.

We had such a wonderful experience at this local gem! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and patient — especially with our toddler. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed. They were quick with service (a huge plus with little ones!) and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s not always easy dining out with a young child, but they made it feel effortless. You can tell this place values both great service and great quality. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to other families looking for a stress-free, enjoyable meal out!

I have been to Sunrise Espresso Bar a few time now, and every single dish has been fantastic. Everything is tasty, fresh, and served in generous portions. The black beans are especially amazing and so full of flavor. The mimosas are perfectly made. And the homemade hot sauce is hands down the best I've had. Perfect heat and packed with so much flavor that I had to buy a bottle to take home. On top of that, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and the service is always great. Highly recommend.

Amazing place with great ambiance and great food. The owner is very friendly and you can tell he really cares about this business thriving and its customers getting the best service possible. The food was great too, the place offers traditional food with a healthy twist and it works so well. I recommend the chorizo con huevos because it was very filling and tasty. Recommended to everyone to check out this hidden gem in the neighborhood.

Absolutely delicious!! Me and my family were delighted with the great atmosphere and service that was given to us. Felt very welcome and the staff were super nice and sweet with us. They serve authentic Mexican food and so much more which we enjoyed!! Highly recommend this place :)

A wonderful little spot for Mexican food. The staff was very friendly. Our breakfast was delicious and delivered hot. Portions were sized well. We admired the tastefully decorated interior.

Had brunch there today after walking by several times. I had a Mexican breakfast bowl and my wife had a burrito. I had an espresso and we both had mimosas! The food had a very home cooked feeling, and was really good! It definitely is good valued, as everything was basically $10 on their menu. Surprisingly, their espresso was really good and I would regularly come back for it. One thing that stood out was their homemade hot sauce 😍 I recommend checking it out for a nice, light breakfast with mimosas. I’ll be back to check out lunch and dinner for sure.

I ordered Huevos Rancheros, the description clearly says that the dish comes with fried tortillas and I was disappointed that instead it came with microwaved tortillas, not what was described or what I expected. One more issue I had with the food was that my partner ordered hash browns and these were clearly frozen not home made which was quite disappointing as well.

I ordered the fajitas - I think it needs work. A little shocked a Mexican cafe with Mexican people will call this a fajitas. Either they remove it from the menu or they do it right. Also we got charged I full for it. We went and ate elsewhere instead as we were still hungry.
