Went today for Sunday lunch, as my mum is over visiting us. Had a lovely meal (only two courses) as we were too stuffed for dessert!! Service was very attentive & staff very polite. We live an hour away in a very Spanish village so it was lovely to drive down & have a "British" day out lolxx. We will be back & I'll drive so my husband can have a few more draught Guinness's!! Haha. Very enjoyable & the restaurant is very clean/tidy!! See you very soon!!
Always a great place to visit. The extensive menu offers something for everyone. The staff are first class, they are friendly, courteous and super helpful.
Went there Sunday very busy, great service biggest meal I've had in months food was fresh really good choice
Great meal stop on our coach trip, finished of the day out nicely. Good food choice, set up well, great staff
Cracking food (amazing chicken cob salad) and lovely staff both british and spanish. Made the whole family feel at home, will definitely go again.
For years ago I stopped going here. Boring menu and an overall bad impression. Obviously for some years new owners changed not only the name but everything. Friendly service, good food with almost "Spanish" prices. We loved the quality. Recommendable for sure. Not only for UK customers ;)
A typical British carvery offering excellent value for money. No frills but tasty food.
This place was included on a coach trip. If you are looking for a carvery you could not find a better place .the food was plentiful and fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful. The owner is a big Marilyn Monroe fan.and the place was covered with her pictures. Well worth a visit.
British owned but serving a good mix of world foods. Very convenient for Monte Pedreguer. Good prices , friendly staff and the food was excellent.
A great little place in the middle of nowhere where the staff are fantastic. Food is also very good as yet not tried the carvery but will be doing soon. Looking at how busy the place was on Sunday it must be good.
I go here regularly for Sunday lunch , buffet style, ( while lockdown is on staff serve the food but you indicate what you want or not and how much) I usually have 3 courses and a drink, usually comes to about 15 euros, great value, good food and friendly pleasant staff. Booking advisable for Sunday lunch.
Brilliant friendly service. We had a great meal from the carvery. It was good plain English food. The restaurant was clean and busy. It might be best to book up before you come.
We just had the two course Sunday carvers at Black Flame, and can only say what great value it was. Attentive staff, lovely roast beef, and the white chocolate and black berry cheese cake was to die for, and all for less than 20 euros. I can see why they are so busy. Will definitely be returning.
This is a medium to large restaurant for the family to enjoy and has a high standard restaurant service within a cosy, comfortable setting. Amazing English carvery cooked to perfection, very cheap prices with a great variety of drinks available. There's a separate bar/lounge area with a pool table that grants access to a well maintained outdoor seating area. A great place for the family to enjoy with authentic English food and employing both English and Spanish staff, fantastic 5/5
First rate hungry food. Steaks, burgers, ribs second to none. A good appetite is useful. You need room for a sweet which are exceptional. Staff phenomenal.
Visited for the first time after having read good reviews. Had the burger which was homemade and tasty and also the tuna salad which was also good. The staff were friendly and I really felt comfortable here. Will be back again to eat. Reasonable prices too.
Very nice food (the inferno burger is hot!!) pie of the day (chicken ham and leek) went down well with friends and was well filled! Decent pint of Guinness too. Never disappointed here
Lovely place. Nice inglés breakfast. Will definitely go back one Friday for live music and Saturday for roast dinner.
I love beef when it is cooked properly... as in almost rare. It was exquisite, as was the pork. All the sauces were there and delicious.... Lots of lovely desserts. Service fantastic. All the vegetables were good and all was served hot with delicious gravy.
My "local" for past 8 year's,varied and well priced menu, great friendly staff, always cheerful and helpful. Have no hesitation in saying it's worth a visit! If you go to the Carvery make sure you book or be disapointed
Lovely food, great service.
Went here today. My partner had the lamb chops and chocolate nut sundae. I had the breakfast and toffee meringue. Excellent value, service and and food. The staff were efficient and very pleasant. Will be back again soon
As always a great experience, quality of food and options given the increase in food cost worldwide , standards remain high. Always pleasant and welcoming staff with a good variety of drinks. Does exactly what is says on the tin, good food in a family friendly environment with quality live music
Fabulous food and friendly service, never had a bad meal. Fishy Friday and Carvery meals are lovely. Very Dog friendly Music on a Friday is a bonus.
Originally from Monroe's in Moraira. Staff are lovely and the carvery is always very generous and fresh. Well worth a family visit and the prices are reasonable.
We met up with friends who now live in Spain at this 'British' influenced restaurant in Pedreguer. While in Spain we normally prefer to eat Spanish food, but we were certainly not disappointed in going British on this occasion. The menu del dia offered was quite limited with a choice of only three starters, two mains and two desserts. Nevertheless the food was good, well presented and generously proportioned. The serving staff were friendly and efficient and the menu was reasonably priced.
Was quiet when I was there but it was midweek and early but the staff and pints were lovely
I have eaten here several times. The carvery is to die for, probably the best I have tasted in Spain. The meat is delicious and there is a very good selection of potatoes, veg and sauces. The staff are always very friendly. The highlight for me is the banoffee pie, it’s my favourite. I can’t wait to visit again.
Fantastic food great menu choices and the staff are super friendly and efficient
A group of us booked ahead as we were arriving quite late on a Saturday night. The service was excellent, friendly and welcoming. Our party had either fish and chips or the chicken pie. Absolutely delicious and big portions. Well done Black Flame.
Excellent value meals!! The 3 course meal of the day was just under €10 including a drink. Around 5 choices for each course so our friends agreed with us 5 stars...well done. Ps we are just touring and have no connection with this place...just our honest opinion.
Went there on a coach trip was a lovely restaurant very well organised
Great food, we had an amazing Carvery and a 1/2 rack of ribs. I can say by far they are the best ribs in the area, I love that they have a bar with pool table. Great restaurant and great atmosphere.
Great carvery with large choice of veg.
Love it here. Great British food and their special Monday to Sunday menu del día is exceptional value. All the staff are great and the food is prepared well. A piece of British food in Spain but done well 👍🏼 It’s also one of the few places someone can get a breakfast at 7pm while everyone else is having a full on evening meal. I love that flexibility not only in choice but on your wallet too!! Thanks to everyone there, you always make us welcome 🤗
Fabulous carvery yesterday, first time going and loved it. Staff attentive and friendly but not rushed. The food was tasty. Great atmosphere and portions were huge. Great value for money. Will be back
Excellent menu. Sunday carvery was delicious with the best selection of vegetables. Good service, plenty of staff and very busy. Prices very reasonable.
Excellent Sunday carvery lunch in a warm, friendly environment. Luckily we had booked early, because the place was packed! Not surprisingly, because the quality of the food and the service was outstanding, and the price was the best-value meal I have had for quite some time. This is the best carvery Sunday lunch in the area - and I have tried them all. Judging by the menu, weekdays will be just as good. I shall definitely return for Friday's fish & chip and live music night. If you're looking for English food, don't waste your time experimenting - this is the place in the Orba valley.
1st time here wont be the last very nice place good food quick service was there Friday evening for their fishy Friday good size portion well worth €9.95
Hi, first time today for myself and husband, both very hungry and have always been recommended before. FANTASTIC CHICKEN,HAM AND LEEK PIE, GREAT PORTION , FAB CHIPS AND PEAS. WOW, FIRST VISIT AND DEFINITELY NOT OUR LAST, BACK FOR MONDAY FOR SURE, both definitely agreed this was the best ever pie since living in UK, and that's nearly 8 years ago, easy to find even by sat nav , thank you for a great meal and friendly experience. Can't wait for Monday 😂😂😂 Jill and Frazer.
Love coming here for Sunday lunch which is why we have done so for over ten years . Good traditional Sunday meal served by friendly, pleasant and efficient staff
Had recommendations for here and after a stressful day decided on spur of moment lunch. Greeted by friendly staff and sat outside. Ordered burger with bacon and partner had fish and chips after prawn cocktail. Everything was lovely especially chips. Definitely recommend.
Good afternoon!!! My mum, our dog and I we visit the Black flame every single day, from the last of july to the 20th of september, we are from Barcelona and we moved there for my job. All of you are amazing!! Every Pie is an experience. Thanks for all. We move back to Barcelona, sorry but I was not strong enought to say bye. I hope to see you soon!! The Black flame....you have to go!!! Thanks again to all the team. Wish you the best!!!
Sunday carvery is excellent, we went back again for a normal day lunch and again excellent. We definitely recommend it
This restaurant is my top favourite restaurant because all of the waitresses are soo nice and sweet. The food is AMAZING! The music is incredible. The restrooms are also really good, and the restaurant has air-conditioning.The BEST waitresses, in my opinion is Lorna and Julie 😊 They are soooo sweet!! They always give us a warm welcome which makes me feel really happy. This is why I give this restaurant 5* Bella
Great location with varied menu of delicious food. We came for Sunday lunch at the carvery and was not disappointed. Staff are efficient and very friendly. We will definitely be back.
The Black Flame is a refreshingly homely restaurant and bar. The Carvery is exceptional value for money but so too is the rest of the menu and the various options available on it. Both the restaurant and bar are very comfortable and well fitted out. The staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive. Good parking. There is a very nice beer garden, and a very nice roof terrace. The toilets are looking slightly tired and ready for a makeover. Overall, very homely with great staff, serving great homemade food (must have a great chef because everything looks homemade). I would recommend making a reservation to avoid disappointment.
The food was unreal I had a stuffed blue cheese burger and the chips and it was one of the best burger and chips I have had anywhere let alone just in Spain I was so impressed aswell as the cocktails were fairly priced for the quality which I thought was amazing and the staff were very attentive and always making sure we were happy and if we needed anything overall it was amazing I would give more then 5 stars if that was possible
Friendly staff reasonably priced food with a strong British theme e.g fish and chips plus a carvery well worth a visit if you or the kids are looking for something familiar but don't go there expecting an authentic taste of Spain or haut cuisine! We had steak and ribs - some of the steak was a bit on the tough side but was changed without question, ribs very tender and tasty, burgers good as were the cocktails and desserts good value.
Nice place. Very British. Good burgers. Very quiet when we visited but I'm sure it gets very busy.
Very good value for money. It cost me €13 for 3 courses, including a Carvery main, plus 2 pints of English cider. Pretty decent carvery too, large selection.
We visited again 2 weeks ago for a friends birthday lunch, 6 of us, all ordered different starters & mains. Great food & excellent service from Laurna & crew. Will be back very soon. Thank you
There's a few vegetarian options but also an all day breakfast which is nice. Comes with the best chips ever. It was mid afternoon so my atmosphere score was average. Came with the kids this time. Just as good.
Been coming here for 23 years.. so glad it is still going as it is the closest bar for Gata Residencial and Monte Pedreguer residents and would be a sad loss if it closed. Current owners are making a good go of it. If you need food at either end of the day then you can get it and it is simple but good with a carvery on Sunday. Recommend Fishy Friday for a good size fish and chips for 9.95. The staff and owners are friendly and the service is good. Live music on Friday nights and you can get a drink with a happy hour every day. What more do you need for a local. The owners have been doing a lot of decorating and updating and the place looks good.
A pleasant rural restaurant. A little tired and in need of refreshment. Service and staff were excellent as was the ambience. Food was good although typical English Sunday carvery is not for me.
First visit for ages. Wow. What a difference. Last 2 meals terrible. This time SUPERB! Excellent food and service at crazy good value. This was the 3 course lunch on Wednesday at just €9.95 for me. Pork in chili sauce. Steak strip with pepper sauce and best chips I have had for ages. Rhubarb crumble and cream. Yum! Look forward to going back soon.
We enjoyed the food. Unfortunately we arrived on a quiet day. The day of the dead, where all shops were closed. So we needed to eat out. It was a Wednesday night. Since going there we have heard that it is a very popular place, both for food, and local events.
My friend and I have been meeting up here for years; it's the only time I go to a British restaurants in Spain. Of course we have our favourites, and I was disappointed at how pared back the new menu is. I'd say more than half the items seem to be gone. I agree that a menu should be easily handled by the kitchen, and it *was* a big menu, but I did miss my cod goujons starter. I am one of those people who does like a lot of choice. And, understandably, they have had to put their prices up (fuel prices drive food up drives everything up). The staff are always very friendly, and we do enjoy being able to stay the whole afternoon, it's restful. No pressure.
Good food, welcoming and attentive staff. Esperanza is a great asset to this bar/restaurant. She always welcomes you with a smile and chat. Visited today for hubby to have an English breakfast and good cup of tea. Just a little change from good Spanish tostadas. Worth a visit as food is good right across the range and reasonably priced.
Came for the Sunday roast and would have given 5 stars but the Yorkshire pudding let it down. Still worth a visit though as the best i have had so far in this part of Spain.
Great place for live music. Good cocktails, small dance floor. Good fun. Haven't tried the food but it looked good.
Very good value for money! Very busy, so I suggest making a booking, well done to the team 👏 👍🏻
Always a great meal. Sunday carvery of beef or pork - never seems to vary to chicken, lamb or turkey. Great veg selection and fabulous service.
They offer big english breakfasts, one called a greedy boy, featured in the pictures. Service was a little slow for breakfast. This was down to lack of staff rather than the very pleasant staff, of which there was just one serving who was rushed off her feet. This also meant food was not hot hot but not cold either and very nice. The presentation was good and prices were slightly more than reasonable. Tables and floors were clean and tidy, definitely worth a 4 stars from my perspective. I would definitely go again, and it is worth checking out.
I only had a drink here so the rating relates to ambience only and it was mid-week, early and therefore fairly quiet . Bit like being in a local pub in the UK (which is fine, but this is Spain). They have a daily carvery, pub type grub and everyone was friendly and welcoming.
Carvery was quite well stocked with different vegetables but several weren't cooked enough. You couldn't get your knife through the sprouts. Rhubarb in the crumble needed cooking longer too. The pork was excellent.
Nice place, inexpensive, with very friendly staff. I can only give the Sunday carvery a 6 though. Yorkshire's and Sprouts need work. Would try another day though.
Very welcoming and great service. Went here as they offered a carvery and thought we would see what it was like. Nice to have something that offered a back home experience however some of the veg and mash had looked like it was sat for a long time.
3☆ as it's a basically a dark old pub type place that does a really simple menu. Your typical fried or grilled place. Nice though if you like old style pub grub. Having a table right by the entrance door made it really awkward to enter and leave as you had to dodge around the drinkers When you get in, welcoming its not. We kept going though and were greeted deep inside this cavernous place. Once seated things looked up. The pie and chips were excellent as was the service. Next time we will try the carvery.
My first visit to this restaurant. Carvery food was tasty and plentiful, but was served only barely warm. Service was not good, with extremely inattentive staff. we waited at our given table for some time but we eventually had to go to the bar ourselves to order our drinks. We sat at our table and, again, patiently waited for someone to take our order but the waitresses just seemed to ignore us. It was an ordeal trying to attract their attention!.
The food was ok, below average. The chips had clearly been par cooked, left to cool, then fried and unfortunately were a little pale, which is a shame as they had potential, the pie was nice. The apple crumble wasn’t the best and it tasted of oil. I really didn’t appreciate the more than 10% gratuity that was added on when we paid by card. An experience I won’t be repeating all round, which is a shame, I had high hopes.
We had a carvery, the beef was excellent and plentiful, the veg were all good but as with every carvery they could be better - not a fan of overcooked frozen sprouts and the peas were like bullets but everything else OK. Lovely friendly service, the place was heaving, being a cold and wet Sunday. Was ok, wouldn't go regularly for a carvery but would try some of their other food!
Can't really recommend at the moment, sorry... Decided to try Black Flame after driving by every day, it's your typical British bar/restaurant located in Spain, full of Brits and British staff. We popped in for a drink one afternoon and no complaints at all! Clean premise and friendly staff. We then decided to book for dinner on the Friday night, live music night, not our cup of tea but couldn't complain, typical pub type live music (see bloke with a guitar) atmosphere was nice, busy and bustling. The service was a little lack-luster, the staff came to take our drinks order twice then they came to take our food orders twice, a little unprofessional but forgiveable honestly. The food, personally...not great. I had the T-Bone steak and at €24 I expected more than a charred on the outside, cold on the inside slab of meat...at least the chips were alright. Other had Lamb and Sirloin steak, no complaints there, the two younger members of our party had burgers which tasted...odd? More like meatloaf really, didn't taste like a burger in the slightest, we weren't happy there with them. For the price, can I complain? Not really...OK I wasn't happy with the T-Bone but everything else was decent for the price. I still wouldn't recommend as we have been to 5 other restaurants this week, all similar priced and so much better, up to you, if you need English speaking staff, sure...if not, find somewhere else for your money.. Nice location and friendly staff, great atmosphere, could easily be improved with a bit of work.
We really wanted to like this place, and while there's nothing major wrong with it, our experience was underwhelming. No welcome smile, just an instruction to take a seat and we'll bring you menus. The food was pretty average, the pork carvery fantastic but the beef was hard work, possibly topside cooked a bit fast. The blonde lady running things was excellent and hospitable but the young waitresses didn't seem very interested. When we paid the bill no-one even said thanks and bye. Maybe this was why the restaurant was so quiet on a late Sunday afternoon. Steve and Jackie, Beniarbeig.
Have enjoyed many meals in past. But although staff as always very nice the Christmas Dinner was awful the roast pots were unpeeled potatoes and veg not as good as normal the the turkey was processed ,restaurant and bar was not buzzing as it was in past Christmas's lots of empty tables. Perhaps it was the 45 euros a head that put people off. But for the 450 euros our party paid we could have stayed home and had a feast of proper Christmas fare for half the cost. Don't mind cost as you haven't had to do the work. But it was appalling a great disappointment we will not go again.
Very disappointed- had been to the black flame a month or so back and it was great, however the service was awful, friendly enough but had to go searching for mustard, vinegar etc. The mixed grill was dry and very over cooked, sweet corn inedible. Nobody checked we were happy with it and I had to walk around to find the waitress to ask for more drinks. One couple walked out after waiting for so long for their meal they’d drunk a bottle of wine! Only three tables filled so I don’t know why they were so slow. I couldn’t recommend it to anyone, which is a shame as it’s a local new enterprise
Very ordinary meal and disappointing as our friends had had a decent meal there last time. 2 of our party had liver on the menu del dia. The liver was cut too thick, was very tough and undercooked. I had a goats cheese salad as a main which was very ordinary. I suspect the goats cheese had been warmed at some point but was quite cool and quite small. For an ice cream they only had a choice of vanilla.I had a brownie with ice cream desert which was smothered in aerosol cream. The service was generally good and the manageress did knock something off the bill for the poor liver. Won’t be going back.
Normally, Black Flame provide decent food for a reasonable price, However, our last two visits have been very disappointing. On Friday, my wife, who is a non meat eater, ordered the Vegetable Lasagne which she has enjoyed on recent visits, but, to her horror, the dish consisted of a mixture of mushy vegetables topped with cheese. This was sold at the same price as a normal Vegetable Lasagne; there were no lasagne sheets of pasta at all. We called the waitress over to find out what had happened; she just asked if my wife wanted something else. As there are not many meat free dishes, she chose breaded mushrooms and these were awful , just full of grease. Yesterday, we returned with friends and , as a joke, asked if the Vegetable Lasagne had any pasta sheets inside. The waitress replied that she would go to the kitchen to check. We were told “No”, we thought that Friday’s was a mistake but unfortunately, this appears to be what you get for Vegetable Lasagne now and Still at the same price. And to add to that, there was no full banana in the Banofee Pie, just a bit of mashed banana, which was hard to find. Such a shame that it has deteriorated. I have to add that the meat dishes are very nice, it appears that it has gone wrong for the non meat eaters
Was or used to be descent for an english breakfast but i recently went and price has been put up by 4 euros (16 euros for an english breakfast) meaning now they have some competition as there as more quality places to eat for that price. Shame. They also charge for peanuts where a spanish bar will give them to you for free. Bad service, misereble staff a trap for people who want/misses uk food.
Shabby place, dirty, food less than average, we hadfish & chips: fish: acceptable, chips partly raw (very different thicknesses), peas showing crumbles all over, surely left the tin at least the day before, Apple crumble tasted like the food which was placed next to it in the fridge or freezer and got served with 2 completely different spoons for soup in an old white plastic bowl, I should have done a foto to demonstrate the lack of love involved in this whole business. Used serviettes on the floor next to us. A glimpse of hope: nice coffee. Not going back there for sure.
The owners mother sits at the back and hates children playing anywhere near her (Reply) Your terrace is a grand total of 15 meters long, they spent a grand total of 30 seconds each time near the rocks searching for painted rocks without throwing a single one, we asked the couple which sat a few meters away, no threats had been made except from the elderly woman saying this is my daughters bar you better be careful. We gladly accept your ban from the establishment and we will be sure to share the info with our entire table and the other four tables who had children playing there the same day.
We had a takeaway roast dinner last Sunday, largely inedible, dreadful chewy beef and overcooked pork. Cabbage that was very boiled and soggy. Nice carrots, Roast potato's were not nice, seemed like new potatoes which were tasteless. Soggy Yorkshire pudding which was not due to takeaway as we ate within 8 minutes of picking the meals up. The banofee desert had no banana! It's become more expensive for the two course option at around 36 euros for two. Overall, very disappointing as it used to be a good reliable place for a decent roast, on this occasion, an absolute waste of money.
Have been in bed all afternoon with sunstroke as we were not allowed to sit outside in the shade as we had a tiny well behaved chihuahua with us. We were told that 'dogs are annoying and not welcome as they Just get in the way' by a rude lady and forced to sit in the blazing sun. We have gone for many years but will never go again as we were made to feel completely unwelcome and forced to sit in direct sunlight with the waitress continuously moaning about dogs even though ours was under the table and never made one noise. Its such a shame as the other staff have always been so lovely to us. The chef seems to have changed as the onion rings were so grease filled they resembled donuts and the price has doubled in the two years we have been going.
What a disappointment. I went there solely to have the pie as for many years, the pies (I'm referring to Munroes) have always been excellent. Today however, it was terrible. The portion was embarrassingly small (if they had run out of pies, they could have said....) the meat had clearly been boiled beforehand, and the pastry wasn't cooked properly. All in all, it was an edible but tasteless tiny slice of pie. I ate it only because I was hungry. I'm so disappointed and just wish I hadn't gone there today.
Very disappointing and probably one of the worst meals I've ever had in Spain having lived here for 20 years!! Salmon was cremated and ruined with no taste whatsoever and full of bones!! The baked potato it came with was also not good with having to use a steak knife to cut the skin and the broccoli had brown marks in places which looked like they were there prior to being cooked so probably not the freshest. Hense why not very much was eaten. People I was with also had a bad experience. Cloudy white wine, poor service, trying to get a waitresses attention for more than 15 mins just to get a drink and it wasnt even busy. Not good value for money and would never return.
