Opinions de The Bushwick Diner Brooklyn
I had a couple of friends over and we decided to order through the Bushwick Diner app for take out. We ordered 2 burger deluxes, (one with bacon and one without) and nachos. I dont know about you, but sometimes (more often then not), when I order two almost identical meals, something always gets messed up. Not here. The order was exactly what we asked for. My friends said the burgers were good and they both enjoyed the waffle fries. My nachos came with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. It really hit the spot. I will be ordering again.
Update: they’ve been consistently good for a while now. Food taste great and whenever I reorder it’s just as good as the last time . Amazing late night food!
I had the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. It was delicious well seasoned and moist. The other people I was with had turkey burgers with fries or sweet potato fries. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our server was very pleasant. If I'm on the area for lunch or an after hours meal I would definitely come again.
Good diner breakfast, I go when I’m in the mood for a big comfort meal. Inexpensive for the amount of food. Very kind service. Lots of coffee refills. The interior is fairly plain but cozy enough for the diner experience.
Tasty classic diner eats! We got a breakfast wrap with chorizo and jalapeño, mozzarella sticks, falafel wrap, chicken tenders and French onion soup. Breakfast wrap was bangin’ and hit the spot, mozz sticks were classic and thankfully came with a large portion of warm marinara, falafel wrap was fresh and yummy, chicken tenders were like baseball stadium style and cooked well and the French onion was flavorful and delicious with a huge portion of cheese on top (note the cheese pull). Thanks Bushwick Diner! We love you!
Place is fantastic. I really don’t get how it’s rated so low because the food is great, it came fast and hot even though they were super busy, and the prices are as low or lower that a typical corner deli but this is a sit down spot with table service. It has plenty of space for larger groups, there was a group of 10 that luckily came in after me and they were all able to sit together. Hungry Man Breakfast is my jam. Omelets w/hash browns are also huge and well made.
We ordered takeout from The Bushwick Diner and tried several classic American comfort dishes fish and chips, a Philly cheesesteak, the combo appetizer platter, and New England clam chowder. The overall meal was decent, with some dishes prepared better than others and one standout item that truly impressed. The fish and chips had good flavor but were fried a little longer than ideal. Traditionally, fish and chips originated in 19th-century Britain, where a crisp, airy batter made from flour, water, and sometimes beer is used to protect the delicate texture of flaky white fish like cod or haddock. The fish we received was lightly seasoned with salt and pepper and coated in a simple flour-based batter. While still enjoyable, the extended frying gave the crust a firmer crunch than the classic light and crisp texture associated with the dish. The fries, cut thick and simply seasoned, held up reasonably well for takeout. The Philly cheesesteak came generously filled with thinly sliced beef and sautéed onions, giving it a hearty feel. However, it lacked the essential cheese component that defines a traditional Philadelphia cheesesteak. The classic version relies on a balance between beef, onions, and a noticeable layer of melted cheese typically American, provolone, or Cheese Whiz to create that iconic creamy-meaty blend. Without enough cheese, the sandwich leaned more toward a straightforward meat sub rather than a true cheesesteak. The combo appetizer platter included mozzarella sticks, onion rings, chicken tenders, and wings. The mozzarella sticks had a well-seasoned breading, but the cheese inside felt minimal compared to the coating. The onion rings were on the smaller side and had good flavor they weren’t overfried, but they were slightly soft to the touch, likely due to the moisture from takeout travel. The chicken tenders, coated in a classic breadcrumb mixture, stayed fairly tender. The wings were simply seasoned and fried, served plain with dipping sauce on the side rather than tossed, which shifts the expected texture compared to traditionally sauced wings. The New England clam chowder was the highlight of the entire meal. This style of chowder has long been a signature of coastal New England cuisine, typically made with a creamy base, butter, potatoes, onions, celery, and chopped clams. Even in a takeout container, the chowder was excellent: rich, silky, flavorful, and well-balanced. The potatoes were soft without breaking apart, the clams were tender, and the seasoning usually a combination of salt, pepper, thyme, and bay had the perfect depth. It delivered the comfort and warmth that define a proper New England-style chowder. While a few dishes could benefit from more precise execution, the clam chowder was exceptional and easily the standout of the entire order.
Definitely don't order for delivery, it will almost certainly take 2 hours. However, if you go in to eat the service is totally fine. They have a really wide variety of menu items. They weirdly don't seem to have any cheddar cheese though. Super reasonable prices though. I would recommend the one with mozzarella, egg, peppers, and pesto.
Love the diner and the food BUT there a very rudeee worker who works here. Came here a couple times with a friend in the past couple years but I stopped going because there a new worker who’s aggressively cleans your table while your eating, mean mugs you from across the restaurant, and she just speaks with attitude and snatches things out of my hands. Everyone else and everything else is very good it’s literally just her. Haven’t been back since my two encounters with her. Heard she’s still
DO NOT GO BETWEEN 5:50am-6:30am!!!!! Full disclosure: I’m writing this while hangry. Anyway, I’ve been here a few times. Food is fine - after drinking, average diner quality. Had AMAZING service last time I came, TERRIBLE service this time. I walked in around 5:55am, was greeted immediately, and then promptly informed that they couldn’t take my order. The reason given was that the current waiter was leaving (assuming his shift ends at 6am) and no one would “give me my food”. I asked about the chef, about the kitchen staff, explained that I wasn’t dining in but taking food to go, and attempted asking if he’d just enter my to-go order real quick (I’m VERY HUNGRY and set on grits & eggs). As I’m looking for compromises, what appears to be the waiter’s friend walks through the door. They share a cute greeting, and he continues explaining that he can’t (“can’t”😑) take the order and that I have the option wait for the next waiter to arrive. Oh, but also, he doesn’t know when she’s coming cause she’s always late and it could be ANYWHERE FROM FIVE TO FORTY MINUTES. When I express how ridiculous it is that they say 24hrs but aren’t really, his response is, “yea, the owner knows all about it🤷♂️.” He and his friend proceed to walk out the door and down the block gleefully… I feel bamboozled, hangry, and like I could throw salt in their eyes. In summary: Dont come here during the times listed above. Otherwise, could be okay.
Awesome usually but your crinkle cut fries are disgusting. Like just so bad. Please just make the regular ones
Food is ok. The guy working there is not kind , no customer service , you have to pay and order in the front before you get your food. The customer service from the guy working there is horrible. Not kind at all. I see why it’s always empty. Very expensive prices also.
Ordered an omelet with avocado, chicken, and cheese. It came with a note saying "sorry no avocados" which was the whole reason I ordered an omelet with chicken. No one called to tell me, and I absolutely would have asked for something completely different. Poor customer service. If ur out of something, u offer a different option, not a note in the bag. So that was just a dry greasy inedible mess with flavorless soggy homefries on the side. The toast was somehow chewy and rubbery, and not toasty. The mac n cheese tastes like wet noodles, nothing cheese-flavor about it. The best thing i ordered was the chicken soup, but it is really fatty and greasy too. Soup shouldnt be greasy. Will not order again, would not recommend.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would I am very mad I do Uber Eats and I accepted this order. At this restaurant and when I got to the restaurant it was a girl she was very rude and so mad and was rude to me like I did nothing wrong I showed her my phone on what orders I have to get once the food was done she told me I had to verify so I was doing it was to 3 different customers and she said hurry up you to slow she is very rude and it was on November 1 6am-7am 2025 I hope she gets fired
Clam chowder was from the progresso can plus they added water. Mashed potatoes were from powder packet. Pretzel was def from a freezer pack. “Sampler” plate all from frozen too. Everything this ‘restaurant’ serves you can basically get frozen from Rite aid and make it in house. It’s all foood from frozen section of the grocery store that they have prepared in store. This place is a joke. Just go to McDonald’s or Wendy’s. This meal Also cost 66$ lmao
