Opinions de Yafa Cafe Brooklyn
The coffee shop is nice, it’s quiet and the vibe is very friendly. Usually I have latte and avocado toast and it tastes so good ✨
Convenient corner cafe near 45th street station. Been going here for nearly a year now, I’ve gotten their breakfast burrito (the green wrap one) and their sunny breakfast dish. They’re all good, I especially like their matcha and coffee. They’re make the matcha by hand from their Matcha that they fetch (you can also buy the Matcha can, it’s good quality) from somewhere. It’s very authentic and I honestly love this cafe. Rush hour start (8am ish) gets very crowded so if u want coffee you should go early ☕️
Absolutely love this place -- my neighborhood go-to. Always a pleasure, staff super friendly, atmosphere very welcoming, and some of the best Yemeni coffee in NYC (and that's a high bar!). I buy my beans here too, and it's definitely worth the price tag. Very proud to be a regular here! Adding my favorites and recommendations to my review: For drinks, I'm a huge fan of the classic adeni chai. The baristas here are so talented at getting the milk steamed perfectly and the sweetness at an excellent level (compared to somewhere like Qahwah House, where the drinks are super sweet). The seasonal honey butter latte was an immediate favorite as well. The lamb stew is phenomenal. I have celiac disease and can't confirm how good the sandwiches are, but every friend I bring here is obsessed with the chicken and lamb. I've had friends come all the way down from upper Manhattan just to get the sandwiches again. Staff are super accommodating about dietary restrictions. The fries are fantastic as well and I regularly get them as a side or on their own with a coffee.
Truly a fantastic experience! After a frosty commute, I began warming up with a hearty cup of Qishr tea. After sometime, I ordered one of the best, tasty sandwiches I’ve had since the womb, an experience I won’t ever have until the hereafter. Everything was on point, the tasty food, the vigorous customer service, and the welcoming atmosphere. Shoutout to all staff working this Saturday shift, very good people (including the chefs, don’t ever forget them.) More importantly props to Yusuf, he truly went above and beyond to serve me with such hospitality. The way he prepared orders and moved through the floor was beyond elegant almost as he was flowing with the air under his feet. Loved the Baraka Milk, it just clicks and feels like home.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Yafa Cafe is such a special place! The food is absolutely amazing — full of authentic flavors and cooked with so much care. But what really touched me was the Yafa coffee. The moment I tasted it, I felt like I was right back in Yafa, reminded of my grandma’s qahwa — warm, comforting, and unforgettable. The staff are so kind and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious meal and a taste of tradition. I can’t wait to come back again!
After attending the pop-up with Akram Cooks, we decided to come back the next morning for breakfast at Yafa Café—and I’m so glad we did! My sister is actually a regular here, but this was my first proper visit. I usually stick to the typical pancakes, but I wanted something different, and Yafa’s menu did not disappoint. The variety was so impressive that we honestly had a hard time deciding what to order—we almost got everything! Every single dish that came out was perfect to the tee: fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You could really taste the love and quality put into the food. I enjoyed every bite from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe makes it the kind of place you can happily linger in. If I lived in New York, I could absolutely see myself becoming a regular here. Since I only visit once a year, I’ll be looking forward to making Yafa Café one of my must-stops every trip.
Yafa Coffee Shop is a true standout when it comes to quality and hospitality. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with exceptional customer service that makes you feel genuinely welcomed. The coffee is always fresh, rich, and expertly brewed, reflecting the shop’s commitment to excellence. The ambiance is warm, inviting, and perfect for both work and relaxation. A special acknowledgment to Kenneth and Farouk for their outstanding service—they go above and beyond to ensure every customer has a great experience. Yafa Coffee Shop is undoubtedly a must-visit for coffee lovers.
This is a very nice, spacious, comfortable, modern, and quiet cafe. ***Apple Pay is required for mobile ordering when you’re seated, just scan the QR code on the table to order, they’ll bring you the food. Pay for your tab after ordering or when you’re done eating. You can also order at the front counter if you don’t want to do mobile ordering or don’t have Apple Pay. The chicken sandwich was delicious! Perfectly flaky and crispy with a layer of coleslaw and some pickles. Fries were also made to the same flaky and crispy perfection.
What a lovely coffee spot. Loved the calm and relaxing atmosphere. Staff is super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The cardamon brown sugar latte (w/ oat milk and iced) was great, and had a nice soft kick to the flavor. A perfect spot to sit down and unwind for a little while.
Cool cafe. It was nice walking in and seeing the classic elements of a hipster coffee shop - t shirts for sale, serious people at laptops. The coffees were delicious - I love the blend of modern and traditional stuff. The food options look pretty good too. Fingers crossed hopefully they introduce homemade baked goods at some point. It was definitely a place you don’t expect to see while driving down fourth avenue.
I had an incredible brunch here - the ambiance is lovely, the place feels low-key even when busy, and the art on the walls is wonderful. I had the lamb haneeth sandwich and it was FANTASTIC, hefty without being overstuffed. It's genuinely one of the best sandwiches I've had in Brooklyn. And the coffee's great too! Will definitely be coming back.
Yemeni cafe serving a variety of drinks and food. I had the Oaxaca blend drip and found great notes of pear and some tones of green apple. Very nice roast of beans! The pita bread & hummus and the fried halloumi cheese were tasty — the cheese came with a cinnamon dipping sauce. The food prices are kinda high but the drinks are all reasonable.
The breakfast platter and lamb sandwich were pretty good and filling. The portions were generous and the presentation is nice, but the lamb was in large thick chunks that were hard to eat. The specialty pour over was good, but more expensive than other places. The sit down area in front is very bright and cozy; the back less so. Everything is nicely decorated, and I particularly liked the pictures of Yemen.
TLDR: Good but pricey food, spacious with lots of seating, slow service. We (party of two) arrived on a weekday for lunch, around 1:30-2pm. We placed our order at the counter. The cashier was polite. We ordered the chicken wrap and lamb sandwich. The total came out to be about 35 dollars which was quite steep by first impressions, but I held judgement until I actually saw the portion sizes. We sat in the back where there were alot of tables but tables were taken. It was also quite cold there with the AC blasting full on in people's faces, so we moved to the front which ended up being too warm. Weird. After maybe 15-20 minutes the food came out. Everything was served on real plates and with real silverware. Ketchup and salt and pepper were available for self service near the counter. The food was pretty good and fresh. The lamb sandwich came on toasted bread and had plenty of meat. The lamb flavor was prominent. However, the sandwich was slightly on the dry side; any sauce that may (or may not) have been put on was definitely not enough to be apparent. The chicken wrap was also good, with many vegetables including peppers inside, but the meat itself was slightly dry. I did need to add salt to both sandwiches, and I normally never do at any restaurant, so take that with a grain of salt (pun intended). The fries on the side were fresh and crispy. Overall, good food. But honestly, for the price, it wasn't mind blowing. If you're looking for a space with ample seating to get work done in a cafe setting, this is the spot. Maybe we missed out by not trying the coffee, but the food was fine.
A must try Between the unique coffees with elevated syrups, the delicious, well-portioned, and reasonably priced food, and the welcoming staff, Yafa Cafe really stands out. We came on a Sunday and were pleased to find spacious seating in the back. The decor is intentional, bright, modern, yet homey. The food was phenomenal. We got the Yemeni breakfast plate, the lamb poutine, and split the batata hara (spicy potatoes). I got a cappuccino — the espresso was bold and smooth. I also added their house-made cardamom and rose syrup. My partner got the ginger turmeric latte- also delicious. It’s also right off the R train for easy access.
A nice little coffee shop with both prepared foods and baked goods. They even have their own roasted beans for purchase. There’s a good amount of seating, so I was able to have my coffee and a toast to stay. I ordered a flat white with oat milk and a fig toast, totaling around $17.50. The flat white was a bit thin, and the toast was a bit small for the price. The toast had both fresh and dried figs but definitely more dried. I wish it had more fresh figs, as the honey topping was a bit too sweet. Both were still good overall, but pricey for what it was.
