Opinions de Imperial Chinese and Sushi Bryan
I ordered the curry fried rice and my family ordered teriyaki salmon and bento boxes. This place feels like a unique fusion of Japanese, Chinese, Indian, and American cuisine. If you’re in the area, you have to eat here at least once.
This was our first time eating at this place, took my girlfriend there who isnt big on sushi but she found some fried rice that she loved. Spoke with the owner while we were eating, he was running the sushi bar. Great service and even better food!! She loved it!. For me the nigiri I ordered was very fresh and delectable, and loved the Binto Box I ordered.
First time here — really impressed. We couldn’t find a good Chinese restaurant in CStat area until now. The duck was incredible and the sushi was super fresh. No fuss, just good food. We will be back for sure.
I got delivery from Imperial for dinner today and I was very satisfied. The fish (salmon) was very fresh and I enjoyed both the nigiri salmon and the College Station Roll. The miso soup was also nice and hot. While I am mainly interested in the Japanese food, I decided to order a side of the plain Lo Mein noodles, and they were also very good. My only criticism is that the sushi rice seemed to have a bit too much vinegar in it. But overall, very good Chinese + Japanese food and definitely worth trying!
I was looking for a good Chinese restaurant near me and this was definitely a hit! They had so many options and everything looked so good. I ended up getting the Lo Mein adding chicken to it and my friend got Shrimp Fried Rice. Both were very delicious I would definitely recommend this place as it has plenty of options and it was super delicious. The service was fast and the staff were kind.
As a longtime lover of Japanese cuisine, I always find myself searching for places that can capture the true spirit of freshness, balance, and craftsmanship. Last night, I found just that — and perhaps even more. The evening began with a simple yet exquisite starter: sweet shrimp paired with thin slices of crisp cucumber. The shrimp was tender with a subtle, natural sweetness, while the cucumber added a refreshing, clean crunch — a perfect prelude to what was to come. The sashimi arrived next, and with just one bite, I knew I had found something special. The salmon was unbelievably fresh, silky, and rich, dissolving effortlessly on the tongue. It's no exaggeration to say this was the best salmon sashimi I’ve had since arriving in Texas. The eel rice was equally memorable — warm, savory, and layered with flavor, each grain soaking up the essence of the tender, buttery eel. The Mongolian beef, with its hearty chew and deeply savory notes, added a bold contrast to the meal, satisfying in a way only truly well-prepared beef can. Beyond the food, the experience was elevated by the people and the place itself. The owner greeted us with heartfelt warmth, and every server who passed by did so with a smile and genuine attentiveness. The interior was tastefully designed — a space that felt both intimate and stylish, ideal for a quiet date night or a lively evening with friends. We ended with a scoop of ice cream that was luxuriously creamy and smooth, melting slowly in the mouth, each spoonful a perfect finish. Even the drinks showed thoughtfulness and care. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right — the food, the service, the atmosphere. But here, every element worked in harmony. A true hidden gem. 10/10 — a place I will be recommending to everyone who asks where to find the best Japanese food in town.
We had a wonderful dinner at this cozy Chinese & Sushi restaurant! We started with the sunomono, which was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. Every bite just melted in our mouths. The unagi don was a highlight: the eel was tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of sweet glaze over fluffy rice. The Mongolian beef was delicious, savory, well-seasoned, and a nice surprise on the menu. We ended the meal with mochi ice cream, which was the perfect sweet finish. Chewy, creamy, and not overly sweet. Great service and a relaxed atmosphere made the experience even better. Highly recommended!
First time visit and it was great. Service was excellent, our waitress was very efficient and prompt with checking with us on refills and friendly. The food was plentyful (large portions) and so delicious, the General Tso pieces were large and very tender pieces of white meat and the sauce was spicy with the right mix of sweet and tang too. The chicken hibachi was so much food for the price! Miso soup & salad + stir fryed veggies & chicken with great dipping sauces. If you have not check this place out yet, you are missing out!
We really enjoyed our time tonight at Imperial Chinese. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. We started with some bubble tea drinks, sake and the imperial sampler appetizer. The only thing we didn’t expect was fried shrimp rolls. We thought they would be fresh spring shrimp rolls. We had Lo Mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken, several sushi rolls, and tuna sushimi. We enjoyed how the sushi came out displayed on the boat. Overall great experience.
Imperial's charm lies not just in its delectable dishes but also in its exceptional service, the server was Oh So Sweet! The sweet and sour pork achieves the perfect balance of crispiness and flavor, while the crab rangoons are simply delicious. Additionally, their sushi is top-notch, making it a must-visit spot.
Tim was a very pleasant and friendly wait staff. I had Won Ton soup and my wife had the egg drop soup. They were quite flavorful. She got the crab Rangoon and I got a couple egg rolls. Those were tasty, as well. My wife quite enjoyed the sesame chicken and I got the seafood fried rice. The food was great tasting and plentiful. If those were the lunch portions, the dinner portions must be huge. I would definitely recommend this place.
Went there with my girl for a late night dinner. Absolutely loved the place. The staff is courtious and the ambience is warm. The food was absolutelt delicious. I got the bento box and a tea and my girl got a vegetarian sushi and seaweed salad. Everything was perfect and filling. The meal costed us about $30, so it wasn't very cheap but absolutely worth the money. Best Sushi in BCS I've had. Will come back for sure.
We had pork egg rolls for an appetizer. They were temperature hot and crispy. I had the hibachi noodles with vegetables. They had a very good flavor. The broccoli was crisp, which I like. My husband had the Kung pao chicken. It was mostly all chicken with no veggies. He liked it, but said it wasn't the best he had had. We would go back for sure.
I ordered the lunch bento box with teriyaki chicken. The miso soup was delicious. I felt the teriyaki chicken was a little dry, so I’ll probably get shrimp next time. The rice was perfectly done! The California rolls have a very bold flavor that I wasn’t expecting. Not bad… just bold. My favorite part of my meal was the crabmeat Rangoons… yum!
I usually get the jalapeno chicken, it is very good. The sauce that it is cooked in is amazing, they should bottle that stuff. My girlfriend usually gets Chicken Pad Thai and she loves it. For appetizers, the hot and Sour Soup, vegetable Spring Rolls and pork gyoza are all very good. If you like hot mustard, this place has the best. If you live in Bryan/College Station, this place is definitely in my top 3 for Asian food.
Some of the food was good, some was not. Hot and sour soup had no flavor at all. They weren't busy, maybe 5 other tables, but it took so long to get anything. Main dishes came before the appetizers. We dis not order anything fancy either. Definitely not worth $77 for 3 people. Will not go back.
Just passing through while traveling, wanted to get some good food and found this place with a lot of positive reviews. To be honest, appetizers were alright, the crab Rangoon weren’t my favorites but oh well. The dynamite roll was really bad. It had a weird aftertaste like it was fried in OLD oil and it was just overpowering we couldn’t finish it. The other roll, hellboy was not as bad, I have to say that it was pretty spicy so maybe that’s why I didn’t feel any bad aftertaste. The place was empty but we figured it was because it is a Monday night during winter break. But service was slow and they rarely checked on us.
Came here for the first time. Sat at the Sushi bar hoping for some interaction with the Sushi Chef but he wasn’t at his station much. We were here between 6:00 and 7:00 on a Friday night and there were very few customers. When we left there were only 2 other tables. The Server, Madison was friendly and attentive. The Sushi was good, not great. I ordered a roll with Shrimp Tempura and the shrimp had been sitting a while and was not freshly fried. The Sushi bar was filthy. Zoom in on the pictures for proof. The Soy Sauce bottle was dirty also. These should be cleaned daily, and more often if necessary. Three of the booths in the restaurant appear to be used for storage and employees clutter. We wanted to pay with an electronic Gift Card and the Sushi Chef said that we could only use one per visit. It doesn’t say this anywhere on the certificate or the website when we bought it. We will be contacting the Gift Certificate company also, and ask them to include this in the fine print. They have an extensive menu and lots of specialties I had never heard of. They have great prices on their lunch specials. We will be back to try those and hope the kitchen is kept cleaner. The Front House Staff was friendly. Good location, easy to find, lots of parking.
