Opinions de Trattoria Santoro Buccinasco
We stumbled upon this trattoria on a bike ride. From the outside, it definitely feels like one of those old-fashioned places, where they focus on the essentials and don't waste time chatting. The cuisine is authentic and traditional. The first courses are rigorously freshly made, plentiful, and very good. Prices are truly reasonable. The owner makes the rounds at the end of the service to check if everything was fine, and offers guests a limoncello or amaro liqueur as a thank you. We'll definitely be back to try the winter menu. I recommend the risotto, truly excellent. Don't expect glamour or finesse when you come in; the food is good, the price is low, and you can enjoy the service, the food, and the conversation.
A trattoria in the Milan countryside. Just a short walk from the city center, you're immersed in a sublime atmosphere. Excellent dinners... food cooked to order by an excellent trattoria chef. TOP!
I recently had lunch at a charming restaurant, and I have to say it was a fantastic experience. I had the opportunity to try donkey sausage, which was tender and flavorful, accompanied by a truly spectacular risotto alla Milanese. The risotto was creamy and rich in flavor, a true comfort food. The restaurant's setting is very rustic, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes every meal a special experience. The staff was also exceptional: friendly and helpful, they helped make our experience even more enjoyable. In conclusion, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food in a charming setting. I can't wait to return!
Truly country side place, honest prices
A very spartan place, the simple interior is reminiscent of a small mountain trattoria. The quality of the food is truly homemade and therefore tasty, and the portions are generous. The only flaw, but I think it's due to the holiday, is the somewhat slow service. Anyway, a recommended trattoria with reasonable prices.
A typical Lombard trattoria in the Buccinasco countryside. A historic establishment popular with locals. The menu is simple, with many good meats (roast, roast beef, and veal with tuna sauce), and the lean ravioli are excellent. On Saturday lunchtime, we ate the menu without pricing, but the bill was pretty reasonable. The atmosphere is quite rustic and casual, and eating outside is very pleasant.
🤔....N 1 ! 👏👏👏👏👏
A typical old-fashioned trattoria, not for those looking for a chic or sophisticated location. Here, you can feel the atmosphere of times gone by, and the place is probably the same as it was many years ago. The food is good and plentiful, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a great time. We'll definitely be back!
One midsummer evening, we stumbled upon this very spartan place, a trattoria from days gone by. Everything has remained as it was in the 1940s. We ordered a first course for two, an appetizer for two, a second course each, water, wine, a dessert for two, and coffee. I'll start by saying that I made a mistake in not asking for the menu because everything was spoken out loud, like in any respectable trattoria. The problem comes later, when the bill arrives. You expect trattoria prices and then pay like a restaurant, so pay attention to this small detail. Otherwise, everything is fine.
We visited this place for lunch on a Saturday. They seated us outside, in a courtyard with a plastic canopy. It feels more like a trattoria than a restaurant. The place is very shabby. They sat us at a table with recycled school chairs (very uncomfortable). There were only us and a couple of workers in the place. There's no written menu; it's verbally communicated by the waitresses, who don't speak Italian very well, so it wasn't easy to make ourselves understood. The menu features mostly Lombard dishes with no light, healthy, or vegetarian options. Before we'd even ordered, they brought us an appetizer with six slices of cured meat, a few pieces of grilled vegetables with a lot of oil, and three small fried bread balls. They didn't ask anyone if they had any allergies or intolerances. When we asked for prices, the waitresses refused to share them, saying, "Trust me." Despite my complaints, since they're required by law to display them, they still wouldn't share them. We only had one risotto each, 1/4 cup of wine, and water: €45 per couple. The risotto dishes were generous but of average-to-low quality. The rice used was low-quality and not creamy. The wait for each course was at least 40 minutes. For a Saturday lunch, that's acceptable. It's not a suitable place for a work lunch break. Overall, it's an experience worth having, but I wouldn't return due to the high prices, lackluster service, and lackluster quality for the price.
The atmosphere evokes childhood memories, at least for those born in the second half of the last century: simplicity and sincerity. The staff are courteous, though sometimes aloof. It's a pleasant chat with the owner, who, during dinner, goes from table to table to make sure everything is in order. We knew the (absent) menu might create uncertainty (only for the customer 😁😁), who will only discover the value for money at the end of the meal. 2 covers, €1 each 1 salami (pork because the donkey one was sold out) €5 1 donkey stew with polenta, €20 1 roast veal with potatoes, €20 2 portions of mushrooms (they say they didn't count the price and were offered) 1 liter of house wine (I highly recommend changing the wine cellar) €12 1 amaro, €4 1 water, €3 Total €66, reported on a post-it I requested the item breakdown (only in this way can you find out how much the dishes cost...) As reported by other reviewers, this bad habit, punishable..., fuels the suspicion that prices may be adjusted for some customers. The quality of the dishes is very good and this has been communicated to the managers, but the lack of a menu is disconcerting, not as much as the request to settle the bill "in cash, which is better".... P.S. I paid by debit card and requested a receipt, which Otherwise, I wouldn't have had it. Nice location, but prices are out of line for the area and the type of place. Good food has its price, but taxes also have to be paid. I don't think it can improve in this regard, given the friendly manager's age.
I've been there a couple of times. The food isn't bad, but the portions are never the same. The service, then... Either Mr. Arcangelo leaves the kitchen (which happens very rarely), or else you're dealing with staff that's definitely not suited to this restaurant profession. You spend at least 30 euros per person, not including drinks. Absurd for what it is.
Absolutely negative 48 euros per person for a dilapidated place with no rules respected and a menu too expensive for the quality and place.. bring a stove ... no indicative menu with prices... Never again!!
€45 appetizer... I won't comment on the main course, polenta and stew, coffee and water and half a cup of house wine! They've started thinking about doing gourmet bills 😂
We visited this restaurant and were truly disappointed. The place aims to evoke the trattorias of yesteryear, and for this very reason, it has tremendous potential—an experience we often seek out and appreciate, especially since there are few authentic places like this left. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. We spent €70 for two for: - 2 appetizers with a few slices of cured meat, a handful of pan-fried vegetables, and 3 dried meatballs - 1 first course (pasta with ragù) - 1 roast beef (literally 5 slices) - 1/2 liter of house wine - 2 amari (which should have been offered on the house) €35 per person for this amount and for this offer is frankly excessive, equivalent to a two-course dinner on the weekend in central Milan, certainly not suitable for a lunch outside Milan in an osteria that presents itself as an extremely simple place. The quality didn't make up for the price: the pasta was overcooked and completely covered in oil, making it hard to digest; the roast beef was nothing special, just a few slices sitting on a bed of arugula; the appetizers didn't justify either the price or the quantities served. We weren't given a receipt. No prices were displayed; it's all based on "trust" (misplaced in this case). A real shame, because the setting, rich in an old-fashioned atmosphere, could offer and attract so much more. As it is, there's no real enhancement to the experience, just the feeling of a hefty overcharge—with the result that customers are unlikely to return. Read the reviews; you'll find exactly what people write. I strongly advise against it.
