Opinions de Urban Kitchen Burlingame
Absolutely loved our experience here! The food was not only delicious but made with such care — you can tell every dish is crafted with passion. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right, but this spot truly delivers. We’ll definitely be back soon!!
Everything about this place was absolutely great! I ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich which came with a side of fries and the chicken on it was absolutely perfect! Crispy and crunchy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside of the chicken. It also came with house made ranch which was the best ranch I have ever tasted. The fries were like a 4/5 because some were absolutely coated in seasoning and some weren’t at all. The service is great and love how the place looks. Overall 5/5.
Just had my first lunch here and was so impressed with the knowledge and help with menu questions. I'm vegetarian so it's usually a challenge but these women were great! The food was delicious and healthy. I will definitely be back!
Stumbled across this location after searching "healthy restuarant near me". (Visiting on vacation from western KY, Southern IL region, I travel ALOT and hard to find true healthy places to eat at times) Immediately upon arrival, I was greeted by 2 nice looking men along with the soft music and clean appearance of the restuarant, I knew I would like this place. I decided on the Miso Salmon bowl. YUMMY! light, refreshing, the grain portion was just the right amount (not a large heavy portion) which balanced well with all of the other ingregriants. Salmon was cooked properly, not dried out. I splurged and got a glass of wine in which it complimented the salad. Thanks for having a great place to eat!
Brought 3 kids in here and it was a huge hit! Food was excellent, kids loved it and they were so kind and accommodating to our somewhat rowdy group. We will be back!
Food is delicious, prices are reasonable, and the people are very nice. The restaurant is pretty, airy and open. Only complaint that it's quite loud. They have a big wooden wall and I think that just bounces the voices and music around. This is only a problem when they're crowded. 🙂
Everything about this place is great! The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and the food is splendid. You can tell everything is made with care and top tier ingredients. Me and my family will be back and we look forward to dinning with Urban Kitche! 👏
I love this place! Mel is a great employee. The pesto pasta knocks my socks off. I’m so grateful this place is in Burlingame, yum!
Delicious food, made of healthy ingredients and bolstered by amazing flavors. Our favorite is a grilled grass-fed steak sandwich, crispy chicken katsu, or salad. On Sundays, you can order from the special brunch menu featuring delicious egg-Benedict or Turkish breakfast. We will definitely be def back with our friends.
During our 3-week road trip across the U.S., Urban Kitchen stood out as one of the most memorable food experience. Best terrace to soak up the local vibe with the most vibrant and healthiest food! ✌️ The staff went out of their way to suggest kid-friendly options for our son, and he absolutely devoured his plate ☺️ Fast service, lovely staff. 🍋 Sugar-free lemonade & ginger-cucumber water = summer perfection. Thank you, Urban Kitchen! 🥳
One of the best on Burlingame Ave the food was great and the staff and chefs were kind Because I'm on a diet they changed my rice and salad to a full Greek salad which was so kind of them They really respect healthy choices and offer many gluten-free vegan vegetarian and dairy-free food options Definitely an addictive place the woman owner of the restaurant on Burlingame Avenue buse was super nice
My family of four are obsessed with Urban Kitchen's food, the owner Buse and her friendly staff. Not only does Urban Kitchen offer super tasty and healthy food, they go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and part of their "family." My family goes here every week, and we are never tired of the food. Our go-to order is The Healer Bowl, which is a salad, overflowing with roasted veggies and blackened chicken that is flavorful and moist. Our daughter likes their Kids Meal of Chicken Tenders and sweet potato fries. They make the best homemade ranch sauce, which is herby and delicious. We can't thank Buse and her friendly staff enough for their delicious food and warm smiles.
Our favorite in Burlingame. We eat here a few times a week. Many healthy options without compromising flavor and good flavor. I love the burger, the grilled branzino, steak salad and the Greek salad so much, it's hard to try anything else. Today, tried the Chicken Katsu and it was delicious too! I am determined to try something different foe the rest of this month. Nutella cheesecake also very good and light. Customer service is always outstanding and atmosphere is very relaxing, comfortable.
A great place to warm up on a cold and rainy day. The jasmine tea, matcha, and lemonade are all very good. The pesto pasta is warm and comforting, and just slightly creamy. It's very good with the chicken added.
Had dinner at Urban Kitchen tonight and loved it! The grilled salmon plate was melt in your mouth good, so tender and flavorful. The servers were genuinely lovely. Cozy spot, great energy, and food that hits just right. Can’t wait to go back!
WOW! Such kind and attentive service that was unexpected during a busy lunch hour! The lovely owner noticed I didn’t eat much of my plate and came over to ask why. I hesitated to share my true thoughts because it’s always hard to share criticism with someone who is deeply connected to the process. She then offered me a side to help fill me up, truthfully I was still hungry so I took her up on the offer. The hummus was delicious with the soft and warm pita bread! Incredible attention to detail and to go above and beyond for their guests! This is a spot we’ll frequent again bc we can trust they will do the right thing! Thank you so much for the unexpected and wonderful experience :)
My wife and I ordered the burger, lamb shank, and the steak a la carte. It was DELICIOUS! I loved the burger especially, it was so fresh and cooked perfectly. The bread pudding that we ordered at the end was also the best I have ever tasted. The sweetness level was just right and hit the spot! We also each enjoyed a cup of earl gray after our meal with our dessert, and it was splendid. The service was great as well. They brought our food out in a reasonable time and stopped by to ask how we were doing. We received just the right amount of attention, and even though this place is new it was clear the owners are very experienced and are doing a great job! I first thought this place was fast food but when my wife and I sat down we realized it was going to be an elevated experience. The ambiance is very relaxing and it was a nice break from our busy working lives. I definitely want to come back here for happy hour next time!
This is an authentic Turkish restaurant with a twist of fusion and variety of dishes. Service was excellent and dishes were delicious. I loved their chicken kebab that was jusicy and not dry and cooked to perfection. Also loved their weekend brunch where I had sampling of different sauces. I highly recommend this place. Place is clean and emaculate. Will definitely come back with my friends.
The first time I went there, the service was excellent. We had a table reserved. However, due to the weather, (freezing) the manager decided to move us indoors( he went above and beyond call of duty to accommodate us) even though we had a small puppy with us ! 😀 Food was exquisitely prepared, I had the " the greek" salad with tofu ( scrumptious), and my husband had " the Kale " salad . The rest of the group could not stop talking about how delicious their meal was. We celebrated my sister husband's b-day, and it was total success!
Urban Kitchen is the best! The food is consistently delicious, healthy, and fresh. The staff are always kind and the restaurant is clean and welcoming. I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve tried here. One of the best places in Burlingame!
Urban Kitchen is an exceptional restaurant that takes salads and grain bowls to new heights. Their meticulous attention to detail, fresh ingredients, and inventive combinations create culinary masterpieces. With a warm atmosphere and attentive service, Urban Kitchen is a must-visit for food enthusiasts seeking a delightful and nourishing dining experience.
I was at Urban Kitchen yesterday, and it was such a treat. Whether you're in the mood for a juicy burger or looking for keto and paleo-friendly options, this place has it all. The vegetarians selection is top-notch too! The atmosphere is laid-back, perfect for catching up with friends and the vibe is super chill. Plus, the staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit!"
Stopped in on a quiet Tuesday for lunch and really enjoyed myself. Urban Kitchen fills the healthy and fast meal option that was a big gap in Burlingame. It reminds me a lot of Urban Bistro, which closed a few years ago. The person who took my order also delivered it to my table and checked in to make sure everything was okay, and he was very cheerful the whole time. The Healer Bowl was very filling and delicious. There's inside and outside seating, and the restaurant is far enough away from the busiest part of downtown that it doesn't feel like you have a million people walking by during your meal. I felt comfortable eating there as a celiac because there are quite a few gluten free dishes.
Restaurant was open on Christmas Day! Everyone was friendly, attentive and the steak sandwich was delicious. Also the wine and side dishes were very good. Highly recommended
I was skeptical at first but after trying it I have to say that it was fantastic. I had the chicken Katsu with brown rice and the salad. It was the best meal I’ve ever had. The salad dressing was also great, you could put it on almost anything. The staff was also great and extremely friendly. One thing I do have to say is if you’re in a hurry this place is not for you since the wait to get you food is a while 10-20 minutes. But it’s extremely worth it since they make it from scratch. Brown rice : 10/10 Chicken Katsu : 10/10 Salad : 10/10 Dressing : 10/10 Staff : 10/10 Ambiance : 10/10 Overall 10/10 and highly recommend just to try it once. Trust me you’ll keep going here
Food is excellent and healthy. Everything is not too oily or salty. I have been here many times for brunch and dinner. One time to be noted was they made my chimi churri steak a bit too well done as they normally cook it and the employee gave us a slice of chocolate cake. The cake was actually extremely delicious—it tasted fudgey, chocolatey, and not too sweet. Next time I would order that cake again. The mint lemonade is also amazing, very fresh, not too sweet and made in house.
This is the best place for healthy options but flavorful dishes. My favorite place on Burlingame Avenue. The owners and employees are wonderfully amazing! We love coming here. It always feels like coming home to my family. When I have guests, I always make sure to take them here. My favorite is the healer. But all the dishes on the menu are all worth trying. My family’s favorite!!!! We just love it here!
Went to have a healthy meal getting in town for Super Bowl with my two sons and Urban Kitchen hit the spot! Loved my Salmon Miso bowl and a healthy choice! The staff was awesome and they gave us this amazing chocolate cake for dessert on the house! Will be back! Don’t miss this cool eatery!
Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Burlingame. The food is California style cuisine, and we enjoyed a fabulous lunch on the patio. The owner is extremely kind and we had a great conversation with her. She made us feel very welcome and had excellent customer service. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the chicken Katsu plate, and we finished our plates clean. Delicious, fresh ingredients, beautifully presented. What more could you ask for!
Absolutely amazing food! Their hummus is a must-try, and the Nashville chicken sandwich is out of this world and I liked everything I tried..!! Not only was the food top-notch, but the service was also exceptional. The staff, especially the girl I met puse, were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable I can't wait to go back for more mouthwatering dishes and the warm hospitality! Highly recommend Urban kitchen
Urban Kitchen is such a great spot! They have amazing healthy bowls and meals that are packed with flavor, and their brunch options are always on point. My absolute favorite, though, is the pink waffle—it’s fluffy, delicious, and topped with the freshest berries. It’s a must-try! The atmosphere is super cozy, and the staff is really friendly and welcoming. They also have great dinner options if you’re looking for something fresh and satisfying in the evening. Whether you’re in the mood for something healthy, a good brunch, or a nice dinner, this place is a winner. Definitely check them out!
I really enjoyed Urban Kitchen. We had the BBQ chicken and the Thai Street Prawns bowl. The chicken was very moist and flavorful. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy a nice combination with the chicken. It was served in slices and very easy to eat. The Thai shrimp had a great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The slaw had a good flavor and was a nice crisp contrast to the chicken. The fries were crisp and went well with the chicken and bbq sauce. The peanut sauce on the Thai shrimp bowl was advertised as spicy but did not pack too big of a punch and was a delightful addition to the shrimp bowl. I would highly recommend trying this place and if I lived closer I would definitely put it in my restaurant rotation.
Urban kitchen never disappoints. Our family loves this place. The food always satisfies and the customer service is exceptional! They manage to keep the place clean. Even on busiest days which are usually the weekends, they always deliver superb food and service. I always get the healer bowl with salmon instead of chicken (chicken is really good too) and I add avocado to my bowl. My little one who is a foodie loves the sunny rib eye burger. It's tender, juicy and delicious! The healer bowl, aside from my mom's dishes, has become my go to comfort food. It always hits the spot with its different textures and flavors. I never get tired of it and it literally is very healing with all the super anti oxidant ingredients. They have big servings. The bowls can easily serve two people. Buse, one of the owners is just a sweetheart! We keep coming back here not only for the food but because of the friendly service. Love, love, love! Highly recommended!
Urban kitchen is one of my favorite places to stop for a healthy meal in Burlingame! Their salads are inventive and delicious with a variety of options that are great for me as a vegetarian. Their Brussels sprouts are so savory and delicious too, they’re marinated perfectly. Honestly, try them, they’ll change your life.
Everything was super clean, which really matters to me. The service was quick, and the dishes were beautifully presented. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. As a family with a little one, we felt really comfortable — it’s such a nice spot to enjoy a meal and spend time with friends who also have kids. We had a great time and will definitely be back!
Delicious, well plated, good portion size, and a good price. Service was fast and friendly. It's fast casual so you can order at the counter, pay, and take a seat which means it's really good for meeting up with a group of folks. The restaurant seating is spacious and looks nice. Ample seating both inside and outside. Lots of other things nearby and right next to the Burlingame Caltrain station.
November 2025: Stopped by for lunch. Ordered a miso salmon bowl and the chicken katsu sandwich. Both were very tasty 😋. The salmon bowl was quite a large portion. Dressing was good. Chicken sandwich was interesting. Black beans added a nice element. Fries were thin and tasty. Would definitely come back again.
My husband discovered this place where he’s able to order things he likes (great burgers and sándwiches, a good pasta, etc.) and I get to order what i enjoy, the salads and the bowls. We were welcomed by a friendly staff. I ordered their Asian salad with a grilled salmon. He ordered their orecchiette with chicken. Our food came within minutes of us finding a table. My salad was well-prepared. The dressing did not drown the veggies. It was not too sweet either (thank you!). The salmon was cooked just right. Tender and not dry at all. The pasta was al dente and coated well with a pesto-type sauce. The chicken went very well with it too! Kudos to the staff for recommending the combination. My only lament is they have nothing sweet to cap off the meal. Not even a good brownie or a chewy cookie. But maybe that’s what the ice cream place next door is for. I have to say that this place gives much better quality food for the money than another restaurant up the street with similar offerings, where the proteins I would add to my salad (or included in a bowl) would be half the size of what I got at this establishment. I wonder if the less eye-catching counter might be too utilitarian for some diners. People do eat with their eyes first. I noticed the walls were mostly unadorned too. Maybe some posters of the great food might help stimulate some appetites? I know the photos don’t do justice to how good outlets orders turned out. Trust me, they were yummy.
Urban Kitchen's healthy twist theme resonates with me. We tried their Chimichurri steak $23, Nashville spicy chicken sandwich $19 and prawn kebab $11 with an iced tea $4 and Stella beer $7. All the food were prepared correctly and in a timely matter. The Chimichurri sauce made the steak even more enjoyable. It was this garlicky, green, parsley, olive oil and vinegar sauce. The Nashville spicy chicken sandwich wasn't spicy at all. It was crispy with a juicy center breast. The best part was little french fries with the buttermilk ranch sauce. The grilled shrimps were OK. Service was excellent for an order at the counter and get a number, then they deliver to your table, style of restaurant. The only minor nit is they served Stella Artois beer with a chilled glass instead of the official Stella Artois chalice.

All the food we ate here were excellent. Fries were crunchy, chicken sandwich has plenty of flavor and juicy. My kids had the steaks and said it was tasty. They finished everything on the plate. A good place to eat on a date or hangout with a friend.

Fresh, flavorful, and guilt-free! I had the Mediterranean with Grilled Salmon bowl and it was perfectly balanced and satisfying. Super fresh ingredients, great service, and a clean, cozy vibe. Highly recommend for a healthy bite.

I came here with my friends. It was nice and the salmon wrap I ordered was delicious. The staffs are also nice and friendly.
Honestly the food was amazing and the location is prime. Probably one of the best restaurants I have been to in San Francisco. My salad was fresh & beautiful! Everything was on point. I had a ginger/turmeric soda water, AMAZING! Great place to meet, eat, & take a stroll.
Food was amazing. Staff was friendly, and the man in charge of the baked goods, was amazing. Also, the cookies were the best.

We love urban kitchen. The food is healthy and delicious! The service is great and friendly. :)
The food was so good, it’s my first time there and I enjoyed the whole meal, service is the best, love it❤️
This is the best place for healthy options but flavorful dishes. My favorite place on Burlingame Avenue. The owners and employees are wonderfully amazing! We love coming here. We had a tasty and healthy meal! Friendly service, a bright & casual ambiance, and good food. I'm vegetarian and had The Healer with tofu. My partner enjoyed her grilled salmon plate. The brussel sprouts were yummy too! We'll be back.
Such a cute little place to grab a quick chicken sandwich or a burger. It’s a wonderful, casual little spot, even if a little bright, and at the end of our evening, we were brought a beautiful piece of chocolate cheesecake on the house for a holiday treat
A la carte line. Took about 6-8 minutes to receive my bowl in an empty restaurant. Their bowls are suggested ways to create it, but you have the freedom to swap or remove proteins and ingredients and the pricing structure is fair. The portions are a little small on the protein so I would suggested you add another serving. Ingredients are super fresh. I had a Thai bowl with steak and missed the spicy description which was my mistake. I sure paid for it though because the sauce is very spicy. I wish the cashier educated on available happy hour specials and suggested to add a side. I didn’t think about it until I saw the offer on the table. Great deal on sides and a drink for that afternoon break. Place was clean.
Stopped in for breakfast on Sunday. We got there right when they opened so it was pretty empty. We ordered chicken tenders for the kid, ribeye burger, katsu sando, and salmon avocado toast. Food took a while it seemed even though we were the only one there, some people came after we ordered. Water was self service. Chicken tenders came out first. All the rest of the food came out together. All the bread was kinda tough/hard. But the ribeye burger tasted great. Katsu sando was ok, the avocado salmon toast was ok to but had quite a bit of lemon.
I dropped in here for a quick lunch and loved it ! They serve mixed cuisine including American, Mexican, Mediterranean and Asian, so there is a wide variety to choose from. I ordered Mediterranean chicken skewers and it was really good. The portion size was large with generous sides of bread, hummus, salad and rice and the chicken was perfectly done. The restaurant is clean and the service was quick. It is located in the heart of Burlingame but parking was easy thanks to a public parking lot nearby. Recommended !
I really wanted to give this a five star rating, I tried really hard, but I’m pushing it to give them a solid four stars tonight. Staff was great, friendly and efficient. The guy at the register didn’t know what type of steak is in the steak dish (it’s skirt steak). To me, knowing your menu is a basic 101 question at work. I debated between the steak dish and the barbecue blackened chicken and I ended up choosing the chicken. I envisioned a piece of chicken … a whole piece of chicken. It advertises as gluten free so I didn’t ask for it to be made gluten-free. Unfortunately, they put a piece of bread on top of my food without asking me. They did deliver it to my table, at which point I let them know that I had ordered the sweet potato fries and I was allergic to wheat. They did not remake the dish, they simply took the piece of bread off, and gave me some fresh sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, that really messed up the temperature of the food. By the time they brought it back, my chicken was cold, lukewarm at best, yet my sweet potato fries were piping hot and very good! It was unfortunately a mediocre experience. I’m giving extra credit for the guy who came up to answer the “ what kind of steak is on the steak dish” question. He was helpful and friendly. Restaurant is 3.5 / 5 clean. The bathroom could really use attention. It needs deep cleaning, nothing that’s recent. Even though they were not busy when I walked in, (8 pm on a Tuesday night) and they seemed to have plenty of staff, there were quite a few tables that had not been cleaned off and the floor needed attention. I don’t think I’ll be back yet it’s a good option for a less expensive meal in the Burlingame area. This is a great, walkable town with lots of options to choose from!
“Healthy” semi casual food spot but there are plenty of things you can order that aren’t that healthy - the Katsu chicken and Nashville chicken both felt a little too crunchy and crispy and fried. The wraps were the thing to get here or the entree plates.

I do not recommend Urban Kitchen, and I do not understand how other people are. My initial thoughts when I visited this “restaurant” last week was to give it 3 stars, but as I continued to think about it, I think it is deserving of 2. Let’s go through everything, shall we? The service is extremely minimal. It operates more like some kind of cafeteria. You order by the cash register and get a table number, pick a table, and they bring you your food. That’s it. They do not even bring you your water- you have to grab it yourself. This does not seem like an issue until you look at the prices. These are not even restaurant prices, these are like fine dining prices. Up to $10 for appetizers and $20-30 for main courses. It only gets worse when you finally see the portions. I ordered a mac-n-cheese appetizer because I refused to pay the abysmal price for any of the bigger entries, and it was served in the most shallow bowl I have ever seen. It did not even come with any sides or special toppings, unless those little crouton crumbs somehow make it worth that $10 price tag. But wait, there’s more! It was not even good. It was horribly bland, and I could only finish half of my plate before I had to box the rest. I did not know cheese could even be that flavorless. I truly cannot comprehend why Urban Kitchen has anything more than 3 stars on Google at most. If you do not mind paying a lot for food, good for you, but mediocre food? The only, and I mean only reason it does not get a 1 star is because the location and atmosphere was pleasant. That’s it. Oh, and the employees were fine, but they are not related to my review. Cheers! 2/5.

Below average quality of food. Most of it seemed to be stale food. Especially the Nashville chicken. We asked for well done eggs in shakshuka and it was not even half well done. Do not recommend this place
Giving one star cause “to go” option has all in plastic. Plastic containers, plastic bag, plastic cutlery. Can’t believe it. Not recycled plastic. Not biodegradable. I feel I’m forced to polite during my travel 😓 management please look into buying more sustainable containers for “to go” options.
This place is a scam. First of all the chicken is not blackened at all. There’s no flavor and there are no grains, except for a teaspoonful of rice. The kale salad had lettuce in it and no kale.. this place is cutting corners and there’s false advertising when you order online. The picture that’s shown in the description is not what you get. The manager doesn’t speak English well and tries to justify nonsense to reality. To me, it looked like they ran out of ingredients and just threw a bunch of stuff in the to go box. Do not recommend you go here or you’ll be wasting your money. Definitely don’t order to/go or DoorDash because they cut corners. What matters is what happens when things go wrong and this manager proved to be unprofessional. $35 wasted and no parking to pick up. It’s a NO.
