Initially we were hesitant to go in because there wasn’t very many people in there but we are so glad we did. Everything was so flavorful. We got an asada quesadilla, the combo plate (skirt steak, chicken enchilada, chile relleno, beans, rice, quac, tortillas, pico) and two water bottles for $35 USD. This was probably some of our favorite food in Cabo San Lucas.

Girls trip !!! Had lunch here with my girls and was it tasty ! The drinks were fabulous!! The atmosphere was very Mexico!! We had a wonderful experience the servers were super friendly and answered all our questions! They will most certainly be seeing us again before we leave…highly recommend!!

Another great place conveniently located in the heart of the downtown area. We've always enjoyed all of our meals at John's place. Food is always great and the drinks are always cold as well. And the service is always always excellent.

Great food and atmosphere! Waitress was great and food was relatively quick considering there were 2 big parties who ordered before us. Big and yummy drinks. Great tacos and tortilla soup. We also got the burrito and the grilled chicken plate. All delicious. Would recommend!

Sergio and staff were all amazing! Timely and attentive- the food was so good, rich flavor, fresh guacamole made at the table, the calamari was perfect, the sauces our dishes came were so unique and a perfect complement to the dish. Highly recommend!! Will be a return customer!

Completely underrated this is a better sports bar than Cabo cantina! We went there first and saw they only had 3 tiny TVs and we walked by here and were blown away with their giant screens and they were actually closed but Alex was kind enough to stay open and let us eat and have drinks and we tried to hurry because we felt bad and he still asked us if we wanted anything more! I was in cabo for 5 days and ate here twice. The food is absolutely delicious. My first meal there was grilled fish tacos. Sooooo good. The strawberry margarita hit the spot. The 2nd time I was there, I was craving a burger. They cook it to order and it was scrumptious. I only ate half and had the other half in my room later. I had a paloma with lunch. So good. They give you complimentary tortilla chips with delicious dipping sauces. The customer service is exquisite. Julio remembered my name on my 2nd visit. Everyone was so kind. You must try this place.

Jon’s Place is the bomb! The place was empty when we got there, but we decided to give it a shot anyway—and man, best decision we ever made. The food was legit, and the portions were huge. We came to John’s Place for a very specific reason—we were on the hunt for machaca. We had heard it was a great traditional breakfast option in Cabo, and after searching around, this was the first place where we finally found it on the menu. The restaurant has a relaxed beach vibe that felt like the perfect setting to try a classic Mexican dish. Machaca is dried beef served with eggs, beans, and peppers, and the presentation was exactly what we expected. Service was good and attentive, with staff checking in regularly and making sure we had everything we needed. As for the verdict: John’s Place has a solid menu with lots of appealing options for lunch and dinner. Unfortunately, the machaca itself just wasn’t to my taste. It was quite dry and lacked much flavor, which was disappointing given how much we’d heard about the dish. That said, I’d still consider coming back to try something else from the menu.

The margaritas are about $7 USD but it lacked tequila so we added an extra shot (100 pesos aka about $5 USD). The tacos are 48-65 pesos ($3-4 USD). The chicken tacos and shrimp were the best, the fish tacos needed more seasoning. The customer service was so good that what made us stop. Our host Emma was so funny and personable. Everyone that worked here was very attentive to us. They had coat/bag racks at each table, bug repellent fans, as well and a large fan they pointed to us since we were hot, we were even able to choice the music. Our meal together came out to 328 pesos or $20 (they have a conversion rate of 17 pesos to 1 USD).

Fuimos hace un par de semanas con mi familia que venía de visita, y la comida es buena pero el servicio pésimo! El disque “mesero” no podía tomar una orden de comida con bebida porque “se hacía bolas”, primero pedía que le pidieran toda la comida y después todas las bebidas; luego, no quería dividir la cuenta al momento de ordenar sino hasta que pagáramos, lo cual no nos convenía porque yo tenía que irme antes y yo NO quería esperar dada la incompetencia de tal tipejo que nos atendía. Luego, como en todos los restaurantes, luego de media hora esperando la comida, le sirven a una mesa de turistas extranjeros que llegaron después de nosotros, escudándose en que el otro mesero “tomó la orden y la metió a la cocina más rápido” que el inepto que nos estaba atendiendo a nosotros. La comida es buena pero el servicio deja muchísimo por desear. No lo recomiendo.

Food was good and they did give a decent portion size, the staff is friendly. Just beware of the CabiTaxi’s that seem to be associated with this restaurant. The CabiTaxi’s will purposefully take you to Johns Place which will then take a little longer to get your food to you because the CabiTaxi’s are misleading and don’t really charge a flat rate per person but really charge a per person per hour charge. This place obviously condones this type of practice. La comida era buena, el personal es amable, solo tenga cuidado con los taxis que parecen estar asociados con este restaurante. Los CabiTaxi lo llevarán a propósito a Johns Place, que luego tardará un poco más en llevarle la comida porque los CabiTaxi son engañosos y en realidad no cobran una tarifa plana por persona, sino que realmente cobran una tarifa por persona por hora. Este lugar obviamente aprueba este tipo de práctica.

El lugar está “bien” concepto mexicano típico. No se gusto la comida, está súper agringada, especialmente los tacos, te dan tacos al pastor con arroz y es bastante caro para lo que es. Por otro lado las bebidas están mejor, el precio es más accesible.

We got persuaded to go in for breakfast by a very persistent waiter. The menu is quite varied and prices are reasonable. We opted I. For the basic 3 eggs, bacon and potatoes.

En mi experiencia personal, como persona mexicana, percibí una clara falta de inclusión, ya que se mostró un evidente favoritismo hacia los extranjeros, tanto en la música como en los canales de televisión. En cuanto a la comida, quedé insatisfecha: las porciones son muy pequeñas. Éramos seis personas y las entradas parecían pensadas para una sola. El servicio también fue deficiente. Tardaron aproximadamente 30 minutos en tomar nuestra orden y más de una hora en llevar los platillos. Al solicitar la cuenta ocurrió lo mismo, con una espera excesiva. Además, los meseros no estuvieron atentos a nuestras necesidades, aparentemente por dar prioridad a otros clientes. Lamentablemente, no fue una buena experiencia.
