Truly an exceptional discovery... We will definitely return to this trattoria restaurant on the banks of the Oglio River. Excellent service, a very extensive wine list, and very traditional and characteristic dishes, as pictured. I highly recommend the fried river squid as an appetizer, and for those who have never tried it, the fried catfish (not found in just any restaurant). Fair and honest prices.

A true leap back in time. A trattoria that invites you to travel back in time, when carts passed over the bridge over the Oglio River and the drivers stopped here for a break... The bridge is now closed because it's unstable and cordoned off, but the trattoria is always open, clean, bright, with tables arranged as they once were... Very friendly service, traditional Mantuan dishes, perfectly prepared, an extensive wine list, tasty and inviting desserts... Here I tried grilled catfish for the first time: exceptional... Come and feel free to travel for a moment to a world far removed from the frenetic city life...

THE TRADITION OF GOOD FOOD CONTINUES: It hadn't been the same since Vania took over... I had good memories and was afraid of the change; I was happy: some dishes are preserved, others are traditional, but intelligently revisited: use of spices, a rare thing, very delicate complementary flavors to enhance the raw ingredients of the dish. Only one note... eliminate the €10 Lambrusco, not because it's cheap (well done) but because the blend of grapes just doesn't work. For the same price, you can find more full-bodied and balanced Viadanesi (like Corte Frati or Reggio Emilia like Settecani) without increasing the cost. In any case, congratulations to the two chefs who have successfully embraced tradition without distorting it.

We ate here on October 14, 2023. The place is truly welcoming, and the woman who served us was attentive to every detail throughout the meal (for example, asking as soon as we entered if our dog needed water). Let's talk about the dishes. I had the bigoli with sardines and the braised veal cheek, and I must say that I've rarely tasted such tender and flavorful veal cheek in my life. I shared the mixed fried river fish with friends, and it was exceptional and plentiful—I've never eaten like it! The pike in a sauce was sublime and refined. I was amazed, satisfied, and even happy. Ramona truly deserves great success for this new adventure, and I trust the bridge (which connects Acquanegra to Calvatone) will reopen as soon as possible, because she deserves the greatest possible traffic to delight passersby with her dishes, full of passion and care.
