Fantastic experience at this trattoria. I booked without knowing about the set menu, and I must say it was a lovely surprise, allowing me to sample many typical local dishes. The menu includes 10 appetizers, including cured meats, cotechino, and polenta; two exquisite first courses, Carnaroli risotto with pumpkin and black truffle and agnolotti with beef stew; three second courses, spare ribs with baked potatoes, Cappello del prete pasta with polenta, and fried land with frogs and fried snails. Dessert, coffee, and liqueur are included. Two or three are allowed! The price is more than fair for everything on offer. I'll definitely be back!

Excellent trattoria, well-kept location, fast service with friendly and helpful staff. Excellent and plentiful dishes, the menu was fixed and not à la carte, with a variety of appetizers, two first courses, three second courses, and a good dessert to finish. The price was more than fair for what we ate, but be careful. We didn't overdo the wine. Definitely worth a try, but reservations are recommended. The only thing we're working on is the restroom.

An absolutely positive experience, with a warm welcome, a lovely and very clean location, and incredibly friendly, helpful, and highly knowledgeable and professional staff. The grill restaurant downstairs, the trattoria upstairs, offers a fixed menu. The quality of the dishes is truly excellent, and with everything you order, you're always asked for seconds, sometimes even three. The venison and sliced ​​steak were a feast for my taste buds. For weekends, you need to book well in advance. EDIT: Years have passed, but it's still a must!

We went to Trattoria Quaglini last night, located in the quiet hamlet of Schizzola Alta in Borgo Priolo. It's been a while since we've been there. For those who haven't been, the restaurant offers two different options: inside, a fixed-price menu for €40, appreciated for its exceptional value; outside, a grill restaurant with an à la carte menu that allows for greater flexibility. The excellent service is distinguished by the professionalism, courtesy, and passion of the staff, always ready to expertly guide guests through the selection of dishes and wine pairings, demonstrating a genuine love for the art of catering. I had some reservations (for my personal taste) about the second schiacciata offered, while the first, the one with lard, was exquisite. The meat is one of the restaurant's main strengths, with technically impeccable cooking that respects each cut and enhances its flavor, a testament to a meticulous selection of suppliers. The desserts also concluded the meal in a memorable way, with balanced and creative preparations that transcend simple homemade recipes. A special mention goes to the artisanal licorice and bergamot liqueur, which, like a "nectar," was a fitting end to the experience. The only small disappointment of the visit was the absence of porcini mushrooms, which ran out that day. However, I appreciate this detail because I see it as a confirmation of the restaurant's philosophy, which prioritizes the absolute freshness of its ingredients. Next time, we'll also try the ravioli.

I think this is the first time I've given a restaurant a top rating. It's deserved for many reasons, let's see if I can explain. The trattoria, although it's a slightly challenging road to reach, is located in a stunningly beautiful area. The restaurant immediately strikes you as being both charming and clean. They offer a standard menu for everyone, served by skilled waitstaff. True, they're small samples, but there are also many courses that will satisfy any diner. Many courses, yes, but truly well-made, simple yet flavorful. From the restaurant, which also has outdoor seating, you can enjoy a splendid view. It's rare to find a place like this where you can eat well in a beautiful natural setting, with attentive and professional service, at an absolutely fair price. It would be a real shame not to visit; it would be a golden opportunity missed.

Il posto non è facile da raggiungere, noi facciamo 70km, ma il cibo vale la pena. Il menù e il prezzo lo decide il ristoratore ma la ricercatezza è la fattura dei cibi alla fine accontenta tutti, anche i celiaci. Questo vale anche per il bere. Vini dell'oltrepo' di qualità. Non c'è più l'abbondanza di anni fa ma rimane un posto che quando lo provi ci ritorni. La prenotazione è obbligatoria

Located in a small hamlet in the hills, Quaglini offers home-style cuisine using only local ingredients. The fixed menu, at €45 including wine for two people, was incredible; such a good value for money is rarely found. The appetizers are plentiful and varied, with honorable mentions going to the Patanegra lard and cotechino, both incredible. Overall, however, we thoroughly enjoyed everything. For me, the first courses were the real stars of our lunch: the braised beef ravioli were fantastic, with the meat as soft as butter, but the mushroom and truffle risotto enchanted the entire table. I'm not kidding when I say this was the best risotto I've tried in the hills so far. The second courses were good, but lacking in quality compared to the other dishes: the sirloin wasn't very tender, at times dry, and the guinea fowl was good but nothing that screamed miracle. The snails, on the other hand, are not bad; they're not for everyone, but they're worth a try. The desserts are also exceptional; the tiramisu, in particular, was very light. The service is very kind and attentive; they really care about ensuring guests have an unforgettable meal. The wine is also very good, and the staff speaks well of it. This is definitely a place I would recommend to anyone, and it's perfect for a weekend lunch with family or friends.

Food is very good and there is a lot of it! It is a family style restaurant, with a fixed menu and a good effort to have all the tables ready to start at the same time. The location is nice and overlooks the scenic hills of oltrepo Pavese, very characteristics The waiters are very friendly and pretty well prepared, they gave us nice suggestions about wine. It is very easy to feel at home here, I will be back for sure!

In a region that is very quite and without any mundane buzz, there is suddenly this very good restaurants. You must know this and some people even come all the way from Milano. So, don't think it will be quite! Very tasty food. We had a French rack and a rib eye, both very good. The fried vegetables as a side dish was disappointing. Unfortunately, the tiramisu was not available anymore. Nice and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Venendo da Milano e dopo i chilometri fatti mi sono fermato con la famiglia ma non mi è piaciuto il comportamento Premetto che loro hanno tentato di chiamarmi sul telefono fisso dal quale avevo prenotato per informarmi del disguido. Ci siamo fermati agli antipasti ,ai primi ed al dolce e non abbiamo mangiato il secondo ma il prezzo è stato ridotto di soli €20 su un totale di €160....(5€ a testa di riduzione)
